Peter eventually got up from the floor and got to the machine that recorded the whole conversation.
"I will find him" he said to El and Ellen looking behind him. "No matter what."
The two women look at each other and nod.
Peter called Jones and Diana, told them about the call and the recording. They rushed over to Peter's house with all the equipment that they would need, making sure Collins wasn't following them. They play the recording:
"There are the sounds of waves, thunder and Spanish bells." Peter examined. Good thing about being an omega, you have amazing hearing.
"Ok so we are looking for an island that had a thunderstorm and Spanish bells." Diana mumbled. "Wait how do you know they were Spanish bells?"
"Let's pretend that time I called Neal at 4 p.m. his time." Peter said, ignoring Diana.
"No good. The close storm was near Vanckodn Island." Jones said.
"Yeah. Mozzie doesn't like islands he can't pronounce." Peter rolled my eyes. El scoffed next time while they made coffee and food. "Ok let's try 4 a.m."
Peter walks over with three cups of coffee and stands next to his chair looking at the map on the table. It is covered in sticky notes and red 'x's. Papers are scattered everywhere. Behind Peter was the bulletin board with Neal's picture on with his likes and dislikes. Peter took a sip on his coffee and smirked.
"Isn't that too early for church?" Diana asked without looking up from her computer.
Jones babbled about taking a trip to an island and how they have early church services for the fisherman he stops halfway through "Oh I have something."
He started to tell the history about a bell drenched and a spanish boat, being hanged in a church on the Northmost side of Cape Verde. "Got to love the internet. There is a tourist video" Jones exclaimed playing the video.
"Those are the bells!" Peter said.
Diana played the bells from the call and they matched up perfectly. They all whooped around and Peter circled the island on the Map.
"The island is smaller than a quarter on the map" Peter scoffed. Jones and Diana laughed wholeheartedly. Giving each other high fives across the table, almost spilling the coffee.
"We are getting Neal back!" They all said in unison. "Okay now let's get back to the office and figure out the plan."
They all go in separate ways to the office to not raise suspicion at the office. They all sit at their separate desk and each devise a plan. It's a couple hours before Peter gets a call from Elizabeth.
Before Peter could say anything Elizabeth continued.
"Collins is searching the house. He found everything, the map, the pagar, everything. The house is a mess. I tried to stop him but he had a warrant. I'm sorry"
Peter sat there silently at his desk. He looked at Jones and Diana, they all knew they were in trouble and they needed a plan and fast. Peter hung up the phone and felt like slamming his head against his desk. He was angry at Collins for searching his house and getting a warrant. But he was more angry at his boss. He had to know to even let this happen. Peter marched over to his boss's office. He slammed the door shut.
"Collins was in my house! He had no right! He could have hurt my sister for crying out loud!" Peter yelled.
"He had every right. You were withholding information about Caffery's ware bouts." He raised his voice.
"It's a hobby and I was doing it during my free time!" Peter exclaimed, After chasing Caffery after everything it has sort of become a hobby.
"I saw the map, you circled Cape Verde." Hughes sternly says. "Is he there?"
"I don't know." Peter sighs with my hands on my hips trying to look anywhere but at his boss.He sighs again and taps his foot. "I think so."
THe boss had a guilty look on his face and looked at his desk. "Collins. He went didn't he?"
"He has the first flight to Cape Verde." He said not looking me in the eye. "Peter, you have to understand Neal's fate is out of your hands."
"I refuse to accept that."
"Well you better" He said "I have been instructed to put you on leave. During this time think about if Neal is worth it and if he is then I don't blame you but I can't protect you. Do you understand?" The boss exclaimed.
Peter nodded and left. He looked over at Jones and Diana. Then it hit Peter, he had a plan. Peter gathered his stuff and went to his car and drove as fast as he could to his house to put the plan in motion. First he needed his passport and luggage. He called his sister and told her what he was going to do. She packed his things, added hormone suppressants to the bag. They met at the door.
"Be careful." she said, giving him a hug.
"I will." He said, giving her a kiss on the forehead. He looked at her. "You know you're the best sister right?"
She laughed and punched him in the arm. "You know it"
He was jogging to his car when she called out "Give Mozzie my best please"
Peter laughed "Will do." He threw his stuff in the car and headed to the airport. Passport in hand.
"I'm coming to get you Neal."
Several Hours later in the Cape Verde
Peter landed in Cape Verde. The whole plane ride he felt like he was missing something, it kept nawing at him but he pushed it to the back of his mind, Neal was his top priority. Peter walked around the island, looking for any clues for Neal. He stopped some locals asking for directions to the church. Good thing he knew a little spanish. He was his way to the church's direction when he saw a hat sign that was the shape of a fedora. He smirked and shook his head 'Neal and his hats. I should wear one just to see what he would do.'
He walked inside the shop looking around at the various hats.
"Hello my I help you?" The owner said in a thick accent looking Peter up and down.
Peter glides up to the counter. "Have you seen this man?" Showing a picture of him and Neal giving each other a side hug and laughing. Peter would never admit it but he always kept it with him.
"O Mister Maine." He said.
Peter nods.
"Loves the classics." the man continued pointing at the fedoras.
"He sure does." Peter asked "Do you know where I can find him?"
"O yes Mister Maine also loves coffee." He pointed to the coffee shop down the road.
Peter glanced down at the coffee shop, there stood a beautiful waitress outside, exactly Neal's type. Peter rolled his eyes and scoffed 'I guess Neal didn't just enjoy the hats.' Peter felt a pang of jealousy on his tongue but pushed it down knowing he was going to have to question her. He was about to walk out the shop when he saw the perfect fedora: Dark grey with a blue band on it, the same color blue as Neal's eyes.
"How much for this?" Peter asked. The owner smirked.
Peter walked out of the shop with the fedora in hand, sliding it into his bag. He headed towards the open cafe and to the dark haired waitress. He sat down at a table and held up the menu.
"So what brings you to the island?" She asked coming over to take his order.
"Oh looking for a friend. Dark hair, blue eyes, annoyingly persuasive." Peter said. "You might have seen him." Peter shows her the picture and swears he saw jealousy cross her face.
"No. Has he done something?" She lied, looking at her notepad anxiously.
"No just owe an apology."
"Long way for just a sorry."
"Well he is a good friend." Peter said looking at the picture. "He was worth it."
"Oh look who's here" Peter jumped at the sound
Collins towered over Peter, Peter groaned "Your right. He was never here." he mumbled to the waitress and shoved the picture back into his bag.
"So why are you here? I hope not looking for Caffery." Collins said.
"Nope just here for the drinks. They are good and cheap. Pineapple Rum please?"
"Oh well since you're here I might as well play my card." He smirked. "Citizens, I have to tell you about something."
"What are you doing?!" Peter said worried standing up next to Collins. Collins smirked at him and held up a picture.
"This man is known as James Maine but his real name is Neal Caffery. He is an art thief, forger, and fugitive. Now I am offering 500,000 U.S dollars to anyone who can get this man."
"Oh shit" Peter said underneath his breath, he tried to breathe and calm down. But soon peter started shaking with the effort. He looked at the waitress with the pineapple rum. He took one deep breath and slammed his wallet on the table and dropped his bag.
"What the hell is this about Collins?" Peter yelled.
"You have your methods and I have mine" Collins yelled back getting closer to Peter.
"You didn't even specify alive!"
"Because I don't care and you can't do shit omega! Nothing" Collins said in his alpha voice. "You should learn your place! Before I make you."
Peter stood there shocked. It's been a long time since someone used the Alpha voice on him. He started to shake and about to have a panic attack when he was knocked out of it with:
"Hey!" the waitress said. Peter turned around and saw the kid run away with his wallet. Peter chased after him going around the corner and almost running into locals then he reached a pair of backstreet stairs and he followed him up them. Peter is faster than normal. He turned the corner at the top of the stairs through a door and lost the kid.
"You know I used to take pride in taking your wallet but now that I see a kid can do it not so much."
Peter sighed in relief. He turned around and saw Neal for the first time in seven weeks. He stood there with that charming smile as always leaning against the railing.
"How are you doing, Peter?" He looked dashing with the trimmed beard and the light shirt and blue pants. Peter and Neal walk up to each other colliding into a bear hug.
"Damn good to see you." Peter mumbled into Neal's neck. He inhaled his scent. Peter stood frozen for a moment until he realized what he was smelling.
Neal's pupils' dilated and he pushed Peter to arm's length.
"Peter what day is it?" Neal asked not letting go of Peter.
"I think July 3rd. Why?" Peter asked.
"Aren't all F.B.I agents supposed to get their shots yesterday?"
Peter gasped, that's what he forgot. "Oh shit."
"Peter are you an omega?"
"Are you an alpha?"
"Yes."
"Well umm yeah I'm an omega" Peter said shyly scratching the back of his head. "Surprise?"
Neal looked at him up and down. "That you're an omega or that you're almost in heat?"
"What?!" Peter said. He started thinking about it. It explains why he was running better, wanting sweet alcohol, why something was gnawing at him in the back of his mind, and why he was really affected by that alpha voice. "I haven't had a true heat in years."
Peter starts freaking out and looks around for his bag. His sister always puts hormone suppressants in there just in case, she always does. He groans loudly and realizes he left his bag at the coffee shop with the hat he bought for Neal.
"Well…umm my bag is at the shop with the suppressants." Peter left out a humorless laugh. He turns back to Neal.
Neal's eyes are completely taken over by black, only a sliver of blue. All Peter hears is a growl then he is being pushed against the stone wall with his hands above his head.
"Neal" Peter gasped.
"Yes Peter?" Neal asked innocently with a predator grin. Peter whimpered and bit his lip. Neal started kissing and nibbling the omega's neck.
"N-Ne—Neal." Peter shuttered trying to keep his voice from going high pitched. Didn't work out. He turned his head trying to suppress a moan.
Mozzie stepped out from behind the soldier awkwardly and gawked at the site. He clears his throat, "Ok well this is extremely awkward."
Peter opened my eyes, not realizing he closed them. Neal stops what he was doing and looks at Mozzie and then Peter. He dropped Peter's hands slowly. Peter rubs his wrist a bit and starts to move towards Mozzie. But Neal sneaked up behind, wrapped his arms around Peter's waist and put his head on the opposite side of the bounding gland. Which was weird considering most alphas put their heads on the side with the bounding gland.
Peter squeaked in surprise. "Ah… Neal this is …. Um is not the time." trying to rustle his way out. Neal just grabbed harder.
Mozzie sighed. "Let me help you." He took one step closer,Neal's head popped up and growled at Mozzie. Mozzie, shocked, took a step back. Neal went back to nuzzling Peter's neck.
"I am guessing Neal is very protective?" Peter said jokingly, trying to lighten the mood.
"Apparently" Mozzie said, eyeing them, he has never seen his friend act like this before, even with an omega in heat. He shook his head, needed to get back on task. "But that's not important. Why are you here and drinking pina coladas with super suits on our island." Mozzie took a couple of sniffs and gasped. "Plus being in heat! Wait, you're an omega?!"
Peter glared at him "I came to warn you about Collins that he is dangerous!"
When Peter finished Neal shot his head up and seemed like he was about to let go of Peter but he was adjusting so he could speak without hurting Peter's ears.
"We know he turned the whole island against us." He said slightly turning his head towards Peter. His breath gliding against Peter's ear, he shivered.
"That's why we are going to try and get off this island." Peter explained, he squirmed and blushed at Neal's attention. Peter started to feel the full effects heading towards his groin. He tried to get out of the hold again but Neal just held tighter and smirked. He knew exactly the effect he was having on Peter and was enjoying every moment.
"Well the airplanes are burned." Neal said moving his hands slowly to Peter's hips rubbing his sides seductively and purred in Peter's ear.
"Then by sea it is." Mozzie said looking anywhere except the blushing omega and determined alpha.
Mozzie guided them over to the table with a map on it. Neal never let go of Peter as they walked over.
"Okay I can call in a favor to my friend. You know the one who I helped with his daughter's wedding." Mozzie looking at the map, not daring to look up. "I can have him take us to this island."
"Nitsea Island" Neal letting go with only one arm to point to the small islands. "We can lie low there for a week or two."
Peter was shivering from being cold, but sweating like a pig. He curled further into Neal searching for warmth and whimpered. Neal wrapped both his arms around him and purred while sliding his cheek against Peter's in comfort.
"I also know a great island with an upside of black sanded beaches." Mozzie said euthisactically.
"Downside?" Peter said.
"Leperz."
"Welcome to paradise." Neal said sarcastically, rubbing Peter's side then leaning into his ear " But I bet that ass more than paradise." Neal slowly moved his hand down and grab Peter's ass.
"Okay we have to move now." Peter said frantically, feeling slick start to run down his thighs. Pushing Neal aside. "And I need my pills now."
Neal tried to grab Peter again but was stopped and dragged away by Mozzie.
"Can I talk to Neal real quick?" Mozzie asked, not really giving a choice. Mozzie turned them away from Peter.
"Explain yourself right now." Mozzie whispered.
"What I was just hugging Peter." Neal smirked.
Mozzie raised his eyebrow then sighed. "Sure Neal, Sure."
"What?"
"First, Peter is an omega, that alone I need to process. Second, what are we going to do now with an omega about to go in heat? That's a signal that can be smelt from a mile away." Mozzie ranted "Wait… aren't the FBI supposed to take madontary shots."
"Yes but he missed it with trying to help us it seems." Neal looks behind him to make sure Peter was still there.
"Hey focus! Aren't you with Maya?"
"I mean yes but no, she wasn't right for me. I'll explain more later, we have to hurry."
"Okay, last question, Do you have feelings for the suit?"
Neal looked behind him then ducked down and whispered "I think I l-"
Peter interrupted. "We have to go word is traveling fast and I'm kind of standing in my own puddle here." Peter blushed and looked down. Neal looked Peter up and down, he rushed over to Peter. Telling how he will be okay soon rubbing his back and the top of his ass.
"I guess we will talk about this later" Mozzie mumbled. He looked at Peter. "Hey suit, you said your pills are in your bag"
"Ya but I left my bag at the café." Peter said.
"That's out of the way do you think your friend will have some." Neal said.
"I don't know, I'll get Hector to get your bag from the cafe and meet me later and grab it." Mozzie said. "But right now, we have to get out of here. Which means walking through a busy part of town. Hopefully Neal's and I's scent will cover up the scent."
"But aren't you a Beta like my sister, El." Peter asked
"Yes suit" Mozzie rolled his eyes then stood up straight. "Speaking of Elizabeth, is she still sin-"
"Mozzie. We have to go." Neal said, pulling away from Peter.
They started walking down the road with Neal in the middle, head hat down. Mozzie and Peter on the ends trying to act casual. They walk past Hector, Mozzie whispers in his ear and the kid nods and dashes to the cafe. Peter is grateful but at the same time can feel the slick pouring more and more. He blushed trying to keep calm. People stare at them but not because of Neal but because of Peter.
'Shit. MY heat is not covered up.' Peter thought, biting his lip and putting his hands into fist at his side. Neal scooted over to Peter.
They turned a corner and walked down an alley. Walking past a man in his doorway, looking at Peter with extreme interest. He jumped off the step and walked behind them checking out the omega. He rushed up and grabbed Peter's ass. Before Neal could even growl, Peter turned around, giving a jab right into the chin and gowling. The man fell to the ground like a ton of bricks and groaned.
"Damn for an omega you are pretty tough." Mozzie said.
"He smelt disgusting" Peter growled, eyes flashing red. Neal put his hand on his back to calm the omega. Peter shook his head. "Uh sorry...also thank you Mozzie."
People came up to the man to help, one of them recognized Caffery and shouted in spanish. They dashed down another alleyway.
"Okay it would be safer on my own. I will meet you at the wharf." Neal said running out of breath.
"No!" Peter exclaimed, getting nervous. He laughed lightly. "I mean we have to stick together."
Peter grabbed onto Neal's arm trying to make them stay by his side.
"Yea the suits right." Mozzie exclaimed. "Plus well" pointing at the Caffery's arm. "Yeah"
"Did you just say I was right?" Peter looked at Mozzie.
They heard distant yelling behind them becoming louder, They saw the group of men and ran but the men caught up. Peter and Mozzie tried to block them as best they could as Neal ran, darting through the crowds. Moz was pushed to the dirt and Peter helped him up.
The grumpy beta dust off his shirt. "Let's get to the wharf. Neal will meet us there and Hector with your bag."
Peter nodded.
Neal was running through the people trying not to hit anyone. He stopped when a royal blue scooter pulled up in front of him.
"Get on!" Maya said sliding up her helmet.
Neal looked at the group behind him.
"Shit" Neal hopped onto her scooter and grabbed her by the waist. Giving the directions to Dobb's mansion. 'Maybe he can help, I can stay there until sundown then head to the wharf'
"Thanks." Neal hopped off the scooter, putting distance between him and Maya. "I know I said I would not bring any trouble but-."
"Thanks for being an open book. It was a fun read." Maya yanked Neal down for one least kiss and drove off. Neal shook his head and wrinkled his nose. "One thing at a time"
Neal rushed through the plaza to Dobb's office hoping he was there.
"James, Is everything okay?" Dobb asked, looking up from his book.
"You said that I can come to you day or night, right?" Neal asked, breathing heavily.
"Indeed. Sit down so I can get you a drink." Dobbs put the book on the table heading towards the glasses, dropping ice in and pouring booze. "What's going on?" Bringing the glasses over.
Neal sat and downed the drink in one gulp. "I need an escort off the island." slamming the drink down.
On the Wharf*
Mozzie was arguing with a man on his fishing boat. Peter stood away waiting for Hector and trying to stop the slick from running down more. He saw Hector coming with his bag and blessed the sky above.
"Thank you," Peter said, automatically getting into his bag and finding the pills. "God bless Elizabeth." He dry swallowed a pill. He dug through his bag a bit more for the hat that he bought earlier. He found it and sighed in relief. Peter walked over and catched the last moments of the conversation.
"This is seaway robbery." Mozzie dramatically waved his hands in the air. Peter helped him off the boat and they walked to the other side of the dock. "Well we have our ride all we need is our half-a-million-dollar man."
"I'm sure he is on his way" Peter sighed.
"Or there is the worse ca-" Peter punched Moz in the arm. "Jesus! Calm down I doubt anything will happen to your alpha, Im sorry. Did you take your pill?"
"Yes" Peter stood there with a smirk.
"Good because the last thing we need is your heat to continue and Neal be distracted"
Peter sighed "This is probably going to be a long night."
Back at the Mansion*
"I should get going." Neal said noticing the sun is about to set.
"There is no need to rush" Dobbs said, pouring another glass.
"Thanks for your help." Neal got up and walked towards the door. Dobbs blocked his way.
"Isn't that what you are paying me for? With keeping the local government out of your hair." Dobb angrily backing up Neal to the wall, oozing Alpha smell, making Neal gag. "Oh but wait this wasn't the local government it was the Untied States government on my island."
"I didn't mean any trouble." Neal said calmly.
"But you did Neal, you did." Dobb walked away a bit. "Thankful I made some calls and cleaned up your mess.
"I never told you my name was Neal." Neal was ready to pounce.
"But I did." Collins said, appearing from behind the secret door holding his gun up to Neal's head and smirked "Hello Neal"
