The Grave Valley
"What do you mean, I have to start in Slifer?!" Chazz yelled at the Chancellor.
"Well, Chazz. You did leave the Academy." Sheppard replied, "Your return makes you a new student." Crowler chimes in, "I did try to allow the Chancellor to place you in Ra, since you did get demoted, but the Chancellor overruled it."
Chazz sighed out, rubbing his forehead, "We do know that there is a bed available in Draco's and Syrus' bedroom." Sheppard added.
"No!" Chazz, suddenly snapped, "I can get some people I know to put an add-on to the dorm for my room." Sheppard and Crowler looked at each other confusingly, dismissing Chazz. He turned around and walked out, after closing the door, Chazz let out a small growl of frustration.
"So, I take it, it was a 'No' to return to Obelisk?" Chazz yelled out, flailing his arms as he looks to the left, seeing Draco leaning against the wall.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" Chazz asked or demanded.
"I did tell you there was a high chance of them not letting you back into Obelisk." Draco replied.
"And what made you think that?!"
"Well to start; you did leave the Academy. Mrs. Wheeler came by after the months you left, saying since you were nowhere to be found, you were removed from the school's computers, so coming back would make you, technically a new student."
Chazz looked at Draco stunned beyond words, before Ojama Yellow appeared, "Oh, wow." He remarked, "He seems to have the facts while you didn't listen to him, Boss."
"Shut up!" Chazz yelled out, "I told you I'm not listening to you!"
"Hey Chazz?' Draco asked, "It is rude to tell your partner to shut up, but the problem is, the Ojamas, they don't know how to shut up."
"I wasn't talking—" Chazz stopped looking at Draco shocked, "Wh-what did you say?"
"I think he said he could hear me?" Yellow questioned, in response.
"I can also see you." Draco replied. Chazz and Yellow look at Draco, as the Ojama began to zip around Chazz's head, which Draco followed easily, "You can stop that."
"By the Gods he can see me!" Yellow shouted, 'How is that possible?!"
"It's possible for anyone who has seen Duel Spirits for a long time." Draco replied.
"So, what you are saying that you have seen these Spirits?" Chazz slightly mocked
"Been able to my whole life." Draco replied with a smirk, "You never found it strange that the Monsters I summoned talked to you?"
Chazz thought it over, before remembering the Promotion Duel, he and Draco had, with Kulaas snarling at him, "You can't be serious." He muttered. Draco chuckled, shaking his head, the two of them walked down the hall, all the while Ojama Yellow wouldn't stop talking. As they walked around the Academy during their free period, Chazz looked and noticed a couple of Obelisks glaring at Draco, but giving mocking smirks at him, hearing them even giving off chuckles, as he growls grinding his teeth, which Draco noticed, before returning a glare back at them.
"You two entitled bitches have something to say?" Draco asked them, making both of them growl out in anger.
"What did you say, Slacker?!" the boy demanded, "That's rich coming from you." Draco replied.
"At least we ARE rich!" the girl snapped back, smiling like she just owned Draco.
"And what makes you think I'm NOT?" Draco snapped back, "My family just doesn't let the money run our lives. Plus, all that money, and you have no skills."
Both the Obelisks snarled at him, "And the proof, is Chazz." Draco stated, "His return for North Academy showed he had to train to be their number one."
"Ha!" the boy mocked, "Chazz was disgrace to the Blue Dorm, he has no skills!" Chazz growled at the Obelisk, taking a threating step forward, as Draco held his shoulder.
"The fuck did you say?!" Chazz snapped, "You heard me, you are a Slacker and will never be an Obelisk." The boy said, "Since Dr. Crowler doesn't take trash, you'll be a loser for the rest of your life."
The two laughed loudly, mocking Draco and Chazz, "Don't let them get to you, it'll just prove their point." Draco told Chazz.
"That's easy for you to say!" Chazz snapped, "I'm going to make them pay for looking down at me!"
"So, you can throw the insults to those in lower dorms," Draco stated, "but can't take them when you, yourself, are in a lower dorm?"
Chazz looked at Draco, "Just letting them walk away and doing nothing, will just make them continue!"
"Chazz, you do know I dueled all of them at least twice." Draco replied, "They still never learn. You should know, first hand."
The bell chimed off, and Draco motioned to meet up with the friend circle. Meeting up with everyone, even Mana death glaring at Chazz for reasons, they all talked, Chazz looking slightly annoyed before he spotted the two Obelisks that mocked him, looking around, he noticed no one was looking as he got up and walked after the two Obelisks, Yellow on the other hand kind of mumbled before floating after Chazz. Thirty minutes passed before Draco looked at an emptied seat, before looking around the table they sat at.
"Something Wrong, Draco?" Alexis asked, "Where did Chazz go?" he asked in returned, having everyone look over to where he was sitting.
"Why do you care about that Bastard?" Mana asked, causing everyone to look at her, "Did you forget the hell he put me through on the first day here?!"
"I didn't forget, Mana." Draco replied, "But you should know, he is in the same boat as us now. He's a Slifer."
Mana and Syrus, both spit up their drinks and coughed loudly, "He's what?!" they asked.
"Yeah, heard it from the Chancellor himself." Draco replied, "I even told him the facts, and he just accepted them."
"So, where do you think he went?" Bastion asked, before a blast was heard down a hallway, they stood up and ran to the hallway, coming to stop as they see an Obelisk girl laying on the ground defeated, as the boy panted out.

"Finish your move Already!" Chazz snapped, "You played the only card in your hand! Stalling for time, by not ending your turn is enough for you to forfeit the duel!"
"Just shut up, you Slifer!" the boy yelled back, "You are a disgrace to the Blue dorm!"
"Man, Chazz went after two Obelisks and didn't get touched." Syrus stated.
"You're wrong, Syrus." Draco said, "In a 2v1 duel, the one lone Duelist will have double the Life Points, double the summons, and double the draws. Chazz is sitting at the half marker."
"Screw it!" Chazz suddenly snapped, "I'll start my turn!"
"What?! My turn's not over! You can't do that!"
"You can't do anything!" he yelled back, "No cards in your hand! Now I draw!" Chazz took two cards from his deck, "I summon Z-Metal Tank! Now merge with X-Head Cannon and Y-Dragon Head and bring out XYZ-Dragon Cannon!"
The three machines connected with each other before rolling in front of Armed Dragon, aiming all five cannons at the face down card.

"I discard this card to activate XYZ-Dragon Cannon's Special Ability!" Chazz yelled, "Hyper Destruction!" The machine took aim and blasted the only card left on the field, "Armed Dragon Lv10! End that pathetic loser!" The large Dragon raised its arm before slamming it down, causing another explosion and blasting the boy off his feet and slamming to the ground. Draco narrowed his eyes, and walked to Chazz after the duel ended, placing his hand on Chazz's shoulder, in turn Chazz swung his arm as he turns to face who grabbed him, only for his arm to be grabbed in mid-swing and met with a pair of glaring eyes.
"That's enough." Draco growled holding Chazz's arm, "They will never learn. I have already beaten everyone in the Blue Dorm twice now. Syrus and Mana have beaten them once each. You beating them won't change anything."
"What the hell?!" Chazz snapped, "Are they dense?! They were all beaten a total of four times and they still caused shit?!"
"You were the same, remember?" Mana spat out, "Arrogant, rich, and full of shit you called 'pride' you were just like them, even when Draco beaten you to the ground twice."
"Mana." Alexis sighed out, "You have made your point."
"And to be clear Chazz, I will make my point." Draco stated, letting Chazz's arm go, "Going after the Blue Dorm won't change how they think."
"Hold on." Chazz spoke up, "You said, those two," pointing to Syrus and Mana, "had beaten the Blue dorm as well?"
"They have." Draco replied, "And they the Obelisk dorm still gives us shit." The two Obelisks got to their feet and muttered under their breath as they walked off, "Come on we have Prof. Banner's class next."
"He did say those who did well on the test last week, he has a surprise for them." Bastion stated, "But I am curious for Chazz, since he wasn't here for the test."
"Don't worry about me." Chazz slightly snapped, "I have some workers coming by that I need to oversee with some work."
Draco looked over to him and then to his shoulder, seeing Yellow there as he shrugs his shoulders, "Alright." Draco sighed, "Still lets head to class before we become late."
While they all head to the next class, over in the Obelisk Blue Dorm, Zane slumped into his chair, grinding his teeth as his computer showed the results of his simulated duel with Sophi Kaitos deck, wins-loses; 0-30. Zane growled out, slamming his hand into the arm rest of his chair in frustration, "This is impossible." He mumbled, "Thirty duels and not a single fucking win?!"
Time passed as Banner explained to his class using chemicals as examples for card combination, "So, class if we add this chemical to the mix, your monster in play will remain safe from any form of destruction." Banner happily said, as he slowly pours the liquid into the beaker, the mixture bubbled violently, shaking the beaker, before it stopped and sat still on the table, "And this will give you—" Banner started before the beaker suddenly exploded, in a small fireball, leaving the Professor's face covered in soot before coughing out.
"I guess that last ingredient was an opponent's Counter Trap." Draco joked, getting the class to laugh lightly.
"Y-yes." Banner coughed, "I believe you are right, Draco. Well, class is dismissed, but before you go, the following students, having answered my bonus question on last week's test, please stay behind, so I may tell you what is coming up tomorrow."
The students all waited for the announcement to the students that answered the question, "Alright, the Following students; Alexis Rhodes, Bastion Misawa, Draco Kaitos, Mana Ishtar, and Syrus Truesdale please stay behind."
The other students groaned as they stood up and left the room, all the time, Draco looked over at Mana, learning her family name, "Ishtar? I could have sworn I heard that name before." He thought to himself
"So, Professor?" Syrus asked, "What is this surprise you have for us?"
"I'm glad you asked, Syrus." Banner replied happily, "The Chancellor, allowed me to take a few students to the ancient ruins near the volcano on the island."
"Ancient ruins?" Mana asked, "What's so special with those ruins?"
"Ah yes, I keep forgetting you don't like history. To put it shortly, the Chancellor and us teacher, when the Academy was being built, we discovered the ruins and we believe the ruins have a connection with the Duel Spirit World."
Hearing that from Professor Banner, Draco and Alexis slightly snapped their eyes, while the others were looking skeptic, "So you see, my dear students. Tomorrow we are going to the ruins to see what the connection is between our world at the world of Duel Monsters."
The five students got up to leave the classroom, Draco and Alexis moved slower to talk in private as the others went ahead of them, "Draco? Do you think the ruins might give us some clues?"
"To see if we can either find a form of communications or to pull Atticus out?" Draco asked, Alexis nods to answer, "Maybe, but we'll have to look around to be sure. I'll get Mindokah and Kroluhaal to join us, so they can look around for clues or anything." He replied.
"Oh Draco, glad I caught you."
Draco looked back, seeing the professor approaching them, "I forgot to tell all of you to bring your own lunches. We'll be at the ruins all day."
"Alright, I'll be sure to tell them when we meet up with them, Professor." Draco replied. They went their separate ways from the professor, rejoined the group and told them, Syrus thought it as a relief from the other classes, Bastion still found it all to be superstitions, and as for Mana, any question on her opinion, she ignore them, until she decided to leave to study. Draco waited before following her to the door.
"Hey, Mana?" Draco called out, "I need to talk to you."
"Draco, I told everyone I was going to study." She replied.
"You are avoiding the question about the ruins, and I can tell something is bothering you about it."
Mana slightly growled as she turned around and looked Draco in the eye, "I have nothing to say about it to you or anyone!" she snapped, "Now, again I'm going to study, I'm done talking about it."
Draco's eyes narrowed as she turned for the doors, "Vonzun?" "You two are the only in this area for about five minutes." The Spy replied. "Good. I know I'll get an earful from Mom after this stunt."
Draco took a deep breath, holding his arm and hand out, before angling his arm to a 90-degree angle, clutching his fist, before the door in front of Mana was engulf in flames. She gasped out, taking a step back seeing the raging white and black fire, she turned around seeing the same flames are Draco's arm as his eyes slightly glow, looking at her with slits.
"You may be done talking, but I'm not." Draco replied, "I don't know what you have against the Duel Spirit World, but try to keep that to yourself."
"So-so you are the other magic user?!" Mana gasped out.
"The night at the Abandon Dorm, there was Dark Magic that night, but it was done by the Archfiends." Draco growled back, "I managed to defeat them, and since then nothing has happened."
"So, what do you call this fire then?!" Mana demanded.
"My Dragon's Fire." Draco replied, "Just like your family bloodline is that of Spellcasters; I happen to be a decedent of a Dragon Bloodline. And I'll say this once; I have never used my Flames to harm others."
"And how can I believe that?!" Mana yelled out, "Anyone who uses any form of magic—"
"Except mine isn't magic." Draco interrupted her, "And what about you?"
Mana gasped out taking a step back from him, "Wh-what do you mean?"
"You were going to say; Anyone who uses any form of magic can't be trusted. If you know so much about magic, that means you use magic as well." Draco explained, "So, how can I trust you won't hurt anyone?"
Mana gasped out, shaking in fear, before Draco sighed out, "Look, Mana. If your magic is your bloodline, then it's your family business." He said, opening his fist up which in turn, disburse the flames at the door, "Just as my Flames is my family business."
"B-but I have been told—"
"Let me put it this way; Magic is dangerous if no one can control it, or if they use it for ill intent." Draco said, "My powers awaken months ago, but I have been able to keep it under control among other ways to train myself to use it."
"How do I know this isn't a lie?" Mana asked, "For all I know you have everyone—"
"I would never do such a thing!" Draco snarled out, "In fact, haven't you noticed none of the duels I have done were anything dangerous?! None of them were a Shadow Duel!"
"Well, of course those public ones weren't!" Mana snapped back.
"And what about the duels with the Obelisks that weren't?" he asked back, getting her to stop and think and realize that none of them acted strangely after their duel with Draco.
"If you don't believe me" Draco stated, "You can try to duel me or get someone in your family to try and expose my powers in the duel. Because, I haven't harmed anyone with my powers."
Mana stood there in silence as Draco turned around and walked away, he heard the door open quickly and sighed out, "You're sure that was wise, Young Lord?" Vonzun asked.
"You said it yourself, she is a spell user herself, she thought I was the other one." Draco explained, "I told her the truth now it's up to her if she believes me or not."
Outside the Red Dorm Mana held her amulet in her hands panting out in slight fear, "Wh-what the hell?" she questioned herself, "All that strange fire and this thing never glow to show what kind of magic it was?!"
She panted out as she rushed to her dorm room and quickly started the computer up, to get a video call with her family, "Hopefully, either my Dad, Uncle, or Aunt can give me the answer."
"Shall I keep an eye on her?" the Spy asked, "Let her be." Draco replied, "If she does end up dueling me, we'll let it happen."
Draco returned to the others, somewhat explaining he just wanted to talk to Mana, and even asked if they were the only one's going to the ruins. Jasmine and Mindy explained that Banner had the bonus question for every one of his classes, and that they were the only ones to answer it correctly.
"So, wait, you two didn't answer it?" Draco asked, trying his best to understand them.
"Yeah." Jasmine replied, "You, Bastion, Syrus, Mana, and Alexis were the only ones that did get that question right."
"We're bummed out we don't get to go with you guys." Mindy added, "But hey, the bright side is you all don't have classes tomorrow."
"The Professor did say we would be there all day." Alexis reminded them, "And who knows what we could find."
"I'm not sure what you are expecting, Alexis." Bastion said, "There isn't any proof of this 'Duel Spirit World' actually existing."
"Spoken like a true skeptic." Draco remarked with a grin, getting Bastion to look at him.
"And what do you mean by that?" Bastion asked.
"Well, I mean is you don't believe in it, because you haven't experienced any form of the Spirit World's power." Draco theorized, "But I'm sure you are familiar with the Millennium Items and the Shadow Realm?"
"Everyone knows about them." Bastion replied, "Alright." Draco remarked, "Well, to sum it up; The Shadow Realm is pretty much the dark side of Spirit Energy."
"Is that why, whenever it's used or a Shadow Game is called upon, it takes someone?" Syrus asked, slightly nervous.
"Pretty much." Draco replied, "That's pretty much the cost for any form of dark magic. Someone will pay with either their mind or soul, sometimes both."
Syrus gulped loudly, and began to sweat with that information, "There's nothing to worry about, little buddy." Draco told him, "If anything all we could feel is a bit of Spirit Energy."
"And what will that feel like?" Syrus asked.
"It's random for everyone." Draco replied, "My first experience was just feeling tired all day."
"Really?"
"However, I have heard some people actually vomiting."
"Ok subject change, please." Alexis told the boys. Of course, they did drop the subject, as the bell chimed for the next class, however over in the Slifer dorm, Mana finished explaining everything to her brother and father.
"The strangest thing was, my Amulet wasn't reacting to his magic at all!" Mana finished stating.
"His magic is too powerful!" her brother barked, "You have to use it! Duel him, and banish his magic to the Shadow Realm using the—"
"Enough!" their father boomed, "Her Amulet lets her know what magic is being used. It didn't glow nor did she feel the presents of his magic."
"So, what does that tell you, Mana?" a third voice spoke up. A woman, wearing Egyptian cotton robe and head dress, golden bracelets neckband and a head piece resembling the Millennium insignia, came onto the screen.
"W-well that tells me, it-it's not magic?" Mana question.
"Did this boy, Draco, tell you what it was?" she asked.
"He said it was his power from his bloodline."
"And just what does that mean?" Mana's brother barked.
"I don't know!" Mana yelled back, "That's all he said! That and some stupid thing about a 'Dragon Bloodline'."
"That is not as far from the truth, then you might think it is." The woman replied.
"And what do you mean, Aunt Ishizu?" Mana replied.
"I just mean, there are far stranger things than a student, your first friend, being a descendant of a dragon." Ishizu replied, "We have told you all that happened with your Father and your Uncle, correct?"
"Well—I mean—" Mana stuttered out, before sighing, "Y-yes you have."
"You just have to listen to your instincts." Ishizu replied, "Has he ever used this white and black fire on anyone?"
"He said he hasn't." Mana replied, "But-but I think I should keep the Millennium Rod on me tomorrow."
"Indeed, you should." Her brother snapped, "And if he happens to use this so-called, non-magic powers of his—"
"I said enough, Mahad!" their father yelled, "I don't like being called by the name of my Ancestor!" Mahad snapped back.
Mana sighed out, knowing it was going to be a while before they stopped, she noticed her Aunt signaling her to go back to class. Mana turned the computer off before looking over at her bed of the triple bunk and reached under her pillow and pulled a golden rod, with two blade-like wings on the top on each side of the orb, having the Millennium insignia at the center.
"Hard to believe this is the same Millennium Item that Uncle wielded." She muttered, "He was surprised I was next for it. All I have done with it, is banish the ability to use magic from the users. So, why wasn't I able to sense any from him?"
After the last class ended, and before going their separate ways, The group had one last get together to disgust what they would do for the lunches, Bastion and Alexis both agreed that they shouldn't worry, knowing that the Slifer meals are mostly like frozen dinner plates, they would provide the meals, though Alexis hinted she would bring enough for her and Draco. Bastion invited Syrus to the Yellow dorm so they could think of a lunch to bring for them and Mana. Draco wrote down a few ideas before handing it to Alexis, before heading to the Slifer dorm, his mind racing with thoughts of his own, before he saw figure standing in front of the dorm wearing a ceremonial Egyptian robe, duel disk at the ready and holding a golden rod. It took Draco a few seconds, before he shook his head in disbelief.
"I don't believe this." He sighed out, walking up to the figure, "You really want to do this, Mana?"
She looked at him, nearly glaring, "You left me no choice, Mage." She coldly replied, holding out her duel disk and the rod, which Draco recognized.
"You?! You have the Millennium Rod?!" Draco asked, "My parents had a few run ins with people controlled by that damn Item!"
"Then you know what I'm going to do with it?" Mana asked, "I'm going to use it to banish your ability to use magic into the Shadow Realm!"
"For the last time, Mana," Draco growled activating his duel disk, "I don't use magic!"
"DUEL!"

"I'll start this duel off and finish it quickly." Mana stated, drawing the first card, "I activate, Ritual of Black Chaos!" The spell resembling Black Magic Ritual, the only difference was the intense blue flames from the offering chalices and the pentagram being lit up with dark crimson lightning.
"I'll send Magician of Black Chaos to the grave to ritual summon, Magician Girl of Black Chaos!" Raising from the pentagram, at first glance it would have been Magician of Black Chaos, however, the outfit is a little more revealing, the Mage in the outfit is curvier and seductively showing off "the goods", before hovering in place.

"Well, that explains why you used Magician of Black Chaos." Draco stated,
"Now, my turn is over." Mana said.
Draco sighs out, drawing his card, "Well this duel is over." He stated, "I first use Pot of Greed to draw two new cards." Drawing his two new cards, and not stopping there, "I activate Ancient Rules! Letting me Special Summon Kendov, the Dragon Guard Fighter!"

"And just how does this end the duel?" Mana asked.
"Because, I now Special Summon Kinbok, Captain of the Dragon Guard!" Draco roared out, summoning the second Guard to the field.

"How does that end the duel?" Mana again asked, "If you attack, I'll still have Life Points."
"Not after I use these three Spell Cards." Draco replied, "First one; Unleash Hidden Potential!" Draco slid the card under Kendov, as he roared out, erupting in light purple aura.
Kendov ATK/3000-3700
"Next card; Dragon Nails!" Draco continued his turn, activating the second Spell, giving the fighter clawed battle gloves. As the Dragon Nails took the form more suitable for the Fighter.
Kendov ATK/3700-4200
"Just how long are you going to do this?!" Mana called out, "I will still survive the attack! This doesn't end the—" She stopped her sentence as she saw the third Spell; Dragon Guard Skill: Flaming Claw Strike!
"This does end the duel." Draco growled. Kendov unleashed the Flaming Claw, destroying Mana's only monster, "Dragon Fist." Draco ordered. The purple dragon dashed out, slamming his fist into Mana as she groaned out in pain.
Mana LP:4000-0
"Alright, what the hell was this all about?" Draco asked, "And I don't want to hear you have to stop other magic users or something to do with family."
"It does have to with both of those things!" Mana yelled out.
"Again, I'm not a magic user, that Amulet of yours said so didn't it?" Draco asked. Mana gasped out, knowing her Amulet was hiding under the robe.
"No one knows about that!" She yelled, "How do you know about that?!"
"This Academy has a lot of Duel Spirits roaming around." Draco replied, lying that he sent his own to watch her.
"You expect me to believe that?!" Mana asked. Draco looked behind her, seeing Dark Magician Girl behind her.
"I can see one behind you." He replied, "The Dark Magician Girl you gave to Syrus."
Mana looked back, and even around, "I don't see—"
"Because you haven't been influenced by Duel Spirit Energy." Draco replied, "And before you ask, I've been able to see and hear Duel Spirits for as long as I can remember."
"So-so you really aren't a mage?" Mana asked, wiping her eyes of tears, "That's what I have been telling you." he replied.
Draco spent the rest of the day until curfew, talking to Mana, explaining his reasoning for the powers, from dueling Titan and saving Alexis and only using the White Flare, as his mother called it on Zane for reasons, but never harmed anyone.
"I'm not even sure, they can harm people." Draco finished, "I mean, you know."
"Yes, it's the same with me." She replied, "I only used the Millennium Rod when my Amulet detected dark magic and when you and Syrus were the only two in there I thought it had to be you since—"
"Since I seemed unharmed?"
"Yeah."
"Speaking of, how did you get the Millennium Rod?" Draco asked, "Last I heard it was in the hands of someone name Marik."
"W-well it did." She replied, "But after I got accepted into the Academy, it just reacted to me."
"So, are you related to him?" Draco asked.
"Not directly?"
Draco raised his brow at the sudden question response, "It's complicated." Mana replied, "I rather not talk about it."
"Alright I won't push it." He replied. He looked at the time, and hurried off to his dorm room, opening the door and coming face to face with Mindokah as she smiled brightly at him, with Kroluhaal leaning in the back.
"Uncle said you'll be taking us to see some ruins?!" She asked, unable to hide her excitement.
"Mindokah, I told you not to bother the Young Lord." Kroluhaal told the Scholar.
"How can you tell me to wait?!" she asked, still excited, "I mean they're ruins that have a connection to our world!"
"Mindokah." Draco said, "Calm yourself down, I need you to be ready for anything, return to the barracks and rest up. That's an order."
"You heard him, Mindokah." Kroluhaal stated, "Back to the Spirit World, now!"
Draco sighed out, as he got into bed, hoping that Mana took what he said to heart, before he drifted to sleep. Early the next day, around seven in the morning, an hour before the classes start, Professor Banner woke and gathered the students for the trip, Syrus was a little tired from the early wake up call, however, Draco was yawning for the thirty minutes they waited on the Professor.
"Ok." Draco said through a yawn, "Someone explain this to me; Why did the Professor wake us up at seven in the morning, and is now seven-thirty, why are we waiting for him?!"
"Well, Prof. Banner has always been a strange teacher." Bastion replied.
"True, but Draco does have a point." Mana replied.
"What point does Draco have?" The sudden voice made everyone yelp out as Prof. Banner appeared behind them all.
"Where have you been?" Draco asked.
"Standing here the entire time." Banner replied with the smile, "Now then, shall we?"
They all began the hike to the ruins, Banner smiling and humming away, as Bastion talked to Mana and Syrus with theories about the ruins, while Alexis and Draco hung back. Alexis looked next to him, noticing a familiar white dragoness, being extremely excited and a blue dragon, repeatedly telling her to calm down, before she noticed a third Guard with them, wearing beige colored armor a little ahead of them, as the group walked past him, before approaching her and Draco.
"Yolosyem, what are you doing here?" Draco asked the Guard.
"Captain's orders, Young Lord." He replied, "Since the Scholar and Mage are on a mission for the Human World, he felt some extra muscle and skill would be necessary."
Alexis looked at the Dragon Guard as he in turn, looked at her, "Something troubling you?" he asked.
"I just can't shake the feeling I have seen you before." Alexis replied, "I wouldn't be surprised." He replied, "Last time you saw me, was on the ship before the first day."
Alexis thought for a moment, before Draco tapped her shoulder, "The duel with Zachery."
"Oh, right!" she exclaimed, "You were the first one he summoned in that duel."
"Indeed, I was." Yolosyem replied, "By the way, Yolosyem." Draco spoke up, "Who else is going to join us?"
"The Spy, the Assassin, the Sage, the Berserker, and the Fighter." The Fire Guard replied, all in which Alexis looked at Draco, he sighs out.
"Vonzun, Gahlot, Koraavnu, Dinok, and Kendov." Draco said in the order of their titles, "Sounds like Kinbok isn't taking chances with the ruins."
"Well, if the ruins do have a connection with the Spirit World, then Spirits can faze into your world." He replied.
"So, in case they are hostile, the others are there for protection?" Alexis asked.
"That we are." Yolosyem replied, "Umm, Young Lord? It seems that group you are wit hare waiting for you two."
Draco looked up seeing Syrus trying to wave them down, they quicken their pace to catch up to them.
"About time you two noticed." Syrus said, "Prof. Banner said we're having our Lunch break here."
Draco looked at his PDA as he noticed the time, "Pardon my language, what the fuck?! We've been hiking for nearly three and a half hours?" Draco asked.
"That we have, and since it is Eleven O'clock, might as well eat." Banner said with a smile.
Bastion and Syrus got out the lunch they put together for them and Mana, which was three containers each having a different meal for them, Alexis pulled out a container from her bag, holding the lunch she put together for her and Draco, and Banner went to his bag, happily announcing he was going to enjoy the chilled sushi he made this morning and was chilling an ice box, only for Pharaoh to pop out of his bag, face covered with fish meat and rice, and letting out a very satisfying burp.
"Pharaoh?! Did you eat my lunch?!" Banner gasped out, "Mrow—BURP!" the cat replied, before purring loudly for the group to hear, giving the biggest cat grin ever, as he then snuggles into the bag all comfy. Draco let out a stifled snort at the cat, only to get a playful arm smack from Alexis. While that was all happening, at the Ruins, the other Dragon Guards already had a foot hold, Gahlot and Vonzun did a sweep and found no other Spirits there, Koraavnu brushing his hand- blindly of course- across faded Hieroglyphs, Kendov homing his senses for anything hidden, as Dinok sniffed the air.
"I do not smell anyone." Dinok growled out.
"Nor do I sense anyone hidden." Kendov added, as Vonzun and Gahlot returned.
"No sign of anyone." Gahlot huffed.
"Or of any Spirit Gates or Fractures." Vonzun added, "Are we sure this place as a connection with our world?"
"There is no doubt." Koraavnu spoke up, "I can't quite feel what these glyphs say, they are too worn out from time, but they do give off Spirit Energy."
Kendov looked up, as he sighs out, "Seems to be Mid-day for this world." He stated, "The sun is right above us."
The others slightly ignored him doing their own thing, before Vonzun noticed the group approaching, "Seems the group the Captain told us about is here." He said.
"The Young Lord is with him?" Kendov asked.
"He is." Vonzun replied.
"Kendov?" Koraavnu asked the Fighter, "How many of us before Mindokah, Kroluhaal, and Yolosyem were here?"
"Five of us." He replied, "Why do you ask?"
"Who's the sixth one, that my Mind Eye has seen looking at me?" the Sage asked, getting the other four to look at him before seeing behind him a small magenta dragoness looking him, with a tilt head.
"Where did that come from?" Gahlot asked.
"She is obviously born from anthro parents." Vonzun stated, seeing the clothing and jewelry on her.
"She also has the scent of Dragon Guards." Dinok snarled out.
Kendov knelt down to the young dragoness, "Wo los hi mal gein?" he asked, only to get little growls from the young dragoness.
"She must have fazed through with no control." Koraavnu spoke up, "We may need to keep her from being seen."
"You want us to babysit some brat?!" Gahlot snapped.
"With how young she is, I doubt she can hide herself from others." Vonzun stated, "So, until we figure out who she is, we hide her."
Dinok looked down as the little dragoness looked back at him, he then lets out an aggressive huff, only get one cute huff back, which made him huff in amusement. It took the group about ten more minutes to reach the ruins, to which Bastion was starting to theorized the ruins age, Mana began to use her PDA for pictures, Syrus panted heavily from the climb, and as for Draco and Alexis, they were able to see the Guards at work trying to solve the mystery of it, with the other three joining the Guards there, until Draco spotted a small quad-pedal dragoness.
"Alright, students." Banner chimed out, "We'll be here for about an hour or two. Don't wonder too far off."
"I don't think I can wonder, even if I wanted to." Syrus whined out.
Draco walked over to where the Guards were, Mindokah was already trying to get rubbings of the glyphs on the wall, while Kroluhaal looked through a book he brought to try and match the glyphs to know their meanings.
"Anything?" Draco asked, "Afraid not, Young Lord." Koraavnu replied, "The hieroglyphs are too worn for me to read."
"What's going on over here?" Alexis asked in a hushed tone.
"I asked if they found anything, but Koraavnu said the hieroglyphs are too worn." Draco replied.
"He's not wrong." Mindokah stated, "I just finished my rubbings, and some of them seem broken or incomplete?"
"Could be both." Added Kroluhaal, "I have been able to match a few, but there are some that are not in the book. They are close, so in theory, a part faded out long ago or it was chipped off as time went on."
"Alright, last question." Draco said to the Guards, "Why is Sogaal here?"
Mindokah turned around, shocked, while the others looked at Draco in such confusion, "Who?" they all asked in unison.
Draco then pointed down to the young dragonling, causing them to look down at her as she again tilts her head curiously at Draco.
"Why is she here?!" Mindokah panicked, "Do you know the young one, Scholar?" the Mage asked.
"She's the offspring of Kinbok and Sahlos." Draco replied.
"The Captain and the Seductress?!" Dinok roared out.
"Which makes this little one, Mindokah's cousin." Draco added, all eyes turn to her as she is now visibly panicking.
"This is not good!" she whined, "If Uncle finds out or if Sahlos finds out, she must be worried about her!"
They listen on as she continues her worried and increasingly speaking faster, before Draco sighed out.
"Mindokah." Finally getting her to stop, "We'll finish here, and then you all can take her back, no doubt she saw one of them leaving and got too curious on where they went."
"The curse and the joy of being young and full of wonder." Koraavnu stated as he sighed out.
"Hey, guys!" Mana called out to the group and Prof. Banner, "I think you all need to see this!"
Everyone, including unseen guests followed where Mana called out to them, entering a large ceremonial chamber, the ceiling had what remains of the Millennium Insignia and the hieroglyphs on the walls were more solid, faded, but readable to anyone who could understand them.
"Strange." Banner said, "I have been here a few times for years, and I have never seen this room."
Draco began to look around, mostly at the entrance, noticing how it seem to have been cracked open, before hearing a faint rumble from the volcano.
"Professor?" Alexis asked, "Maybe you never saw this chamber, because it wasn't revealed?"
"What do you mean, Ms. Rhodes?" Banner asked, to see if she can clarify her reason.
"I think what Alexis is saying is that volcano opened the path up." Draco replied, "I looked at the entrance we walked through, it's too jagged and uneven for it to be a carved entrance, plus some rocks just fell from it." Banner looked back and noticed one loose rock swaying for a bit before falling off.
"Hmm, I guess it might have happened during the winter break." He said, "Well, let's not waste time. Everyone, begin examining the chamber."
Everyone began to look around examining the chamber, Koraavnu began to feel the wall, reading it as it was, as Kroluhaal began comparing the hieroglyphs with his book. Everyone walked around, taking photos are writing notes, however Draco began to feel uneasy with the room, he couldn't understand it. Alexis noticed his uneasy feeling and softly held and stroke at his arm, getting his attention.
"Draco? Is something wrong?"
"This room is making me uneasy." He replied, "I don't know what it is, but my instincts are telling me something is off."
"Like what?" Alexis asked, before noticing Koraavnu looking frighten as he brushes his hand back and forth between a sentence of hieroglyphs.
"My Lord." He said in a frighten pant, "Get everyone out of this chamber, now!"
"Koraavnu?" Draco asked, "My Lord, these walls still have magic in them!" he replied, "If a burst of Spirit Energy is released, they will react to it!"
"Spirit Energy?" Alexis asked, hushed tone, "You mean?"
Bastion brushed some dirt and dust off from the wall, which fell on the snout of the unseen Sogaal, who began to take sharp inhales, a sign for sneezing, which Draco hears, and sees her nearing the end.
"Shit! Guys, Sogaal is about to sneeze! Stop her!" He ordered the Guards, the closest to her was Mindokah as she quickly fell to her knees and pressed a finger against the young dragoness' snout as Sogaal then sighs out in relief as did her cousin.
"AH-CHOO!" Sogaal sneezed out, slightly leaping into the air, and making Syrus jump where he was standing.
"Di-did anyone else see that?!" he slightly panicked, like he just saw a ghost.
Draco and Alexis looked at each, as the others looked at where Syrus was pointing to.
"See what?" Bastion asked, raising a brow.
"I-I swear, I-I just l-like a gh-ghost or something right there!" Syrus replied.
Draco looks down, seeing Sogaal rubbing her snout from the sneeze, as all eyes were set on her, but no one could see her.
"Syrus, are you sure you saw something there?" Banner asked.
Before he could answer the walls of the chamber, the hieroglyphs more precisely, began to glow a light blue, nearly white as the glow climbed the wall up to the Insignia, causing it to glow as well, as if not damaged.
"Professor?" Draco asked, "I think it'll be best if we leave this chamber, right now!"
"I can't help but agree, Draco my boy." Banner replied, "Everyone, out now!"
Bastion was the first to head for the entry way, only to grunt out as he slammed into a wall of light, "Professor? Something is blocking us!" he said, pressing hard into the wall of the light. Everyone began to slightly panic as Kendov and Dinok got into a battle stance.
"I'll tear anything that appears apart!" Dinok roared out, as the ceiling grew brighter, before the Insignia blasted a beam of light to the ground enveloping the chamber, as the light faded, the chamber was completely empty. Draco groaned out as he pushed himself up, rubbing at his head after what felt like hours, before he looked around and gasped lightly, finding himself in a desert canyon. But what got him really uneasy? He was the only one there.
"Professor?" Draco called out, "Alexis? Bastion? Sy? Mana? This isn't good." He began to take deep breaths to calm himself down, "Ok I need to know exactly where I am before I jump to the worst case."
Draco held out his arm, before it suddenly combusted with his Flame, making him widen his eyes before shaking the Flame off, "Ok, worst case it is." He muttered to himself, "My Flame just suddenly burst off my arm without needed to focus, meaning I'm in the Duel Spirit World." Draco took a closer look at the canyon that surrounded him, seeing what looked like the ruins of an old village, "I have to find everyone else, before something bad happens."
In a nearby abandon village, a young dragoness shook her head, just waking up from the sudden teleporting as well, she walked out of a small building she was in, and looked around, realizing she wasn't where she was before, and was by herself. Letting out a small scared whimper, she lowered herself to the ground as close as she could before walking out and looking around for anyone she recognized. Only taking a few steps into the open, she began to shiver in fear.
"Bo-Bormah? Mo-Monah?" Sogaal whimpered out, calling for her parents. A stone clattered nearby, causing her to gasp lightly and look in the direction before a strange man rounded a ruin wall. The man wore a black cloak with a dark red term, the hood covering the top half of his face, the underside of his cloak held many weapons, his pants matched his cloak, he gave a wicked smile to the young dragoness as he pulled a short slightly bent blade, as four other men joined him. Two of them seem to be on the pudgy side, wearing a similar black cloak, each wielded a long metal pole, the other two wielded a spear each, having two snakes like décor on each side of the blade, their black cloak had a green trim, and having a slightly more body built.
"Well, look what we have here men." The first man with all the weapons spoke up, "A fine sacrifice for our true Lord."
Sogaal, began to pant out as she shivered more, slowly taking a step back as the group of five men took steps towards her, one of the spear holders made a jump for her, Sogaal let out a small yelp, before slightly leaping back, turning around, and began to run from them.
"Well don't just lay there," their leader spoke, "after the Sacrifice!" the four goons went running after her, with the leader at first walking behind them before he let out a crazed laughter and then ran after them. Sogaal panted and whined out as she took whatever turn she could find, her small body made it easy for her to make quick sudden turns, causing the four goons to slip on the sand as they tried to turn suddenly on the sand. The last corner she turned out, was canyon wall, Sogaal panted out, looking franticly, before spotting a hole in the wall. She made a dash for it, getting half her body in, before slightly getting stuck, she whimpered out as she tried to push herself fully into the hole.
"I found the Sacrifice!" a voice shouted, making Sogaal whimper out and struggled more, before she popped fully into the small cavern and pressed into the back wall. An arm shot into the hole patting the ground trying to feel for her as she whimpered out, before she lunged out, biting down on the hand, hearing the man yell out in pain before she let go and the arm pulled out, Sogaal pressed back into the wall, after the arm pulled out.
"It bit me!" the man yelled out.
"Get that Sacrifice out, now!" their leader ordered, "Make the hole wider!"
"Sir, you want us to damage the Sacred Valley?"
"This part was home to the Heretics!" the leader snapped, "Nothing is sacred here!"
Sogaal let out a small gasp as she heard the repeated sound of metal hitting stone, tears began to run down her cheeks as she whimpered more, watching tiny bits of the stone wall breaking off.
"BORMAH! MONAH!" She cried out as loud as her little lungs could mustered.
Elsewhere, Draco made little progress trying to find the others, wiping some sweat from his forehead, before he sighed out in one of the empty buildings to get out of the sun.
"Ok, it's been about thirty minutes and that setting sun hasn't moved at all." Draco stated to himself. He leaned against the cool stone wall, sighing out, before he heard a faint yelling, slowly stood up and walked out of the building, Draco then began to hear repeated metallic bangs, before he heard it again, "Bormah! Monah!"
"Sogaal?" he questioned, before realizing the state of the yelling, "Something's after her." He quickly took off, following the echoes of the metal bangs, before long they grew louder as well as small whimpers, whines and cries in fear. Draco rounded a corner and saw five black cloak wearing men, four of them banging their weapons against the canyon wall.
"Hurry up!" the man that wasn't banging a weapon barked, "The Sacrifice must be captured!"
"Sacrifice?" Draco thought before a loud crumble was heard, as one side broke off, and Sogaal cried out. Draco narrowed his eyes as he quickly stood in the dead center of the pathway glaring at the men, "HEY!"
The five men turned around looking at Draco as he returned with nearly a feral death glare, "Leave that little Dragoness alone!" he snarled out.
"You dare give us orders, Outsider?!" the leader snapped at Draco, "Do you even know who we are?!"
"I don't give a damn!" Draco snarled at him, "You are threating someone I know! So, I'll say it again; Leave that little Dragoness alone!"
"You two!" the leader said to the spear holders, "Get rid of that blasphemous Outsider!"
The two spear holders, charged at Draco as he in turn got in a low battle stance before his feet and legs burst with his Flame and he took off without warning, catching the Spearmen off guard before Draco took hold of the spear heads, breaking them off and then throwing them at the other two still digging, both spears impaled their shoulders, the two groaned out, as the two spearmen looked at their weapons, before a fist met with their throats, slamming them to the ground.
"I told you, to leave her alone!" Draco roared out, before he grunted out, and held his left arm, seeing a sudden cut. He looked up seeing under the arm of the having smoke rising from below his wrist, "What the hell?! A hidden gun?!"
"You dare stop our noble work!?" he hissed, before he and the other two gasped out, as both of Draco's arms were engulfed with white and black fire.
"Advance Martial Arts, Dragon Style, Double Flaming Claw Strike!" Draco roared out, swinging both his arms, sending two streams of the swirling flames, before they took the form of two serpent like dragons, roaring out and devouring the three men as they yelled in agony until they were nothing but dust and ash. Draco panted out, and groaned out from the wound he got on his left arm before slowly walking up to the slightly opened small cave, looked inside seeing Sogaal whimpering out and shivering with her back to him.
"Sogaal?" Draco called out softly, she gasped out and turned to him, tears streaming down her face before she whimpered more and then leaped into his arms, crying loudly as he softly wrapped his arms around the young dragoness as she cried out for her parents. Draco stroke the crying dragoness, unaware of a black cloak figure wearing a matching head and mask piece silently unsheathing a jagged dagger as the figure slowly approached Draco, raising the dagger up.
"My Lord!"
Draco snapped from his comfort trace and looked back as the figure swung the dagger down, only to be caught by two Sais and held the dagger in place before kicking the figure back, Gahlot snarled at the figure, before a roar was heard, the figure turned around, to meet a large fist slamming into his face, as was flung off his feet and spun a solid 720 before slamming face first into the ground, Dinok huffed out, cracking his knuckles as his claws were extended.
"Once again, that felt good!" he snarled out.
"Gahlot? Dinok? How did you two find us?" Draco asked.
"The same way you did." Gahlot said, "We heard the cries of the little one."
"Do you know where everyone else is?"
"Not the other humans." She replied, "But the rest of the Guards managed to get us a base of operation."
"Take me there, and Dinok?" Draco said as the Berserker looked back, "Bring that one with us. I know you didn't kill him, because if you did, that head would be rolling on the other side of the wall."
After about a ten-minute flight, Kroluhaal used a combination of fire and ice spells, to close the wound Draco received from the hidden gun, Sogaal continue to cry and whimper softly as Mindokah tried to calm her down. Draco was informed that Kendov was appointed to be the Commanding Officer until Kinbok was summoned.
"Kendov? Any idea where we are?" Draco asked.
"Afraid not, my Lord." He replied, "I have sent Vonzun out to get any information on where we are."
"I think we need to take this cult out!" Mindokah snarled out.
"I understand why you think that way, Mindokah." Koraavnu stated, "However, I am sensing something sinister here."
"So, if we take that source out?" Draco asked.
"Then perhaps we can get answers." The Sage replied.
"Or we can get them now." Gahlot hissed, as she stared at their captured prisoner, groaning as he began to wake up.
"Good, about time we learn why he tried to kill me, and why they wanted to sacrifice Sogaal." Draco said.
They all went to the next room, glaring at their prisoner, Draco looked over to Gahlot and gave her a short nod. She then approached the tied-up prisoner and backhand him across the face, getting him to groan out and finally look at them.
"That's better." Gahlot hissed, "We have questions for you and if you value your life, you'll answer them!"
"We do not fear death!" the prisoner snapped back, in a feminine voice, getting Draco to groan out and face palm himself.
"Not again." He groans, "This would-be assassin is a girl."
"Another female you mistaken as a male?" Kendov asked, before sighing out, remembering Blair.
Gahlot then reached down, pulling the face covering and head piece off, revealing the assassin was indeed a woman, her black hair, falling pass her shoulders as she glares at all of them.
"You can do whatever you have plan." She slightly hissed, "We do not fear death!"
"Then perhaps I shall give you a first-class trip to the Dark World?" Dinok snarled at her.
"Your threats will get nothing out of me." The woman snapped at Dinok.
"Oh, I think they will." He replied, "You said you don't fear death. But I'll make you fear me! My name in the weak common tongue means 'Death'!"
Draco watched as Dinok cracked his knuckles and then extend his claws out, "And if I can't break you, I'm sure a certain Gatekeeper will get the answers from you as you beg him to end your suffering!" Dinok snarled out.
"Alright enough of that." Draco ordered, "It's clear that threats aren't going to work."
"And you don't need them!"
They turned around, seeing Vonzun returned and dropping another woman to the ground, wearing the same black cloak as the others they have seen, "I got everything from her." Vonzun stated.
"So, you know where we are?" Kroluhaal asked.
"And who our assailants are." Vonzun replied, "They are Gravekeepers and we are in Necro Valley."
The other Dragon Guards looked stunned by the location they were in, but more so of their attackers.
"Are you sure, Vonzun?" Kendov asked, "If that is true, why the hell are they wanting a sacrifice?"
The two women gasped lightly and looked at each other, which Draco noticed, "Something tells me, neither of you two were aware that five men of your blood sacrificing cult were trying to get a baby dragon as they sacrifice?" Draco asked.
"You speak Heresy!" the Gravekeeper Spy yelled out.
"Oh, am I?" Draco growled at her, before forcing her to look at Mindokah with Sogaal still in her arms, "You see that crying little dragoness there? She was the one you bastards were after!" He the forced her to look at him, "Now said it again. I dare you! Say I speak Heresy!"
"My Lord?" Vonzun stated, "I have managed to find their so-called 'Holy Temple' and I can confirm the others are there."
"Bad news?" Draco asked, "Bad news is; they are going to be executed for 'tainting Holl Grounds'."
"Well, I think it's time to shed some light on them." Draco stated, "Vonzun, lead the way there. I'm sure they have a code or something if their leader is challenged to a duel."
Vonzun lead them all to the temple, while Dinok dragged the two prisoners as collateral, as they got closer to the temple, Vonzun held his arm up, causing everyone to stop walking, and listen in to what was being said. Draco leaned next to his Spy, and spotted a large cage with his friends and teacher inside it.
"We can not wait any longer!" a man wearing a white robe with black edges and holding a golden cobra staff yelled out, "These Blasphemers must be executed now!"
"My Lord." Another man, holding a staff of his own, wearing the black cloak, Egyptian sash around his waist and neck length spike white hair, spoke up, "We must have all six of them, if we wish to cleanse our Holy Temple, otherwise, the sixth Blasphemer may come for blood."
Draco narrowed his eyes and looked Dinok and gave him a head nod. Dinok huffed out and stomped out, throwing both of the prisoners, they both grunted loudly as they hit the ground, getting everyone's attention as Draco and the Guards walked up to the steps of the Temple.
"Blasphemer!" the white hair man yelled, "You dare try to corrupt our—"
"Are you the Leader of this cult?!" Draco asked with a slight growl.
"How dare you! I am the Vizier –"
"Are you the Leader of this cult?!" Draco again snarled out, glaring at him. This time before he could speak the man in white robes stood up and looked down at Draco.
"I am Chief Imhotep of the Gravekeepers." He spoke, "And just who are you to demand me?!"
Draco looked over to the cage holding his friends, mostly at Alexis, giving her a secret message through facial expressions, "I may have to reveal the truth to everyone."
"Giving the situation, I think your mother would understand." Alexis sent her message to him.
Draco sighed out and looked at the Gravekeeper Chief, "I am Prince Draco Kaitos." He announced. The Gravekeepers looked at each other in confusion as Syrus, Mana, Bastion, and Banner look at each other.
"I'm not sure I heard Draco correctly." Banner told them, "I think I heard Draco call himself a prince."
"You weren't hearing things, Professor." Bastion replied.
"Draco did call himself 'Prince Draco'." Mana confirmed.
"But we met his parents." Syrus pointed out, "Which one is the royal?"
"Son of Krono, Lord of the Red-Eyed Dragon," Draco continued, "and of Queen Saffira."
"The Dragon Queen?!" one of the Gravekeepers gasped out, wearing a black breast covering, matching sash that hung over her white pants, both having golden trims, her own staff and a head piece resembling Anubis.
"HUH?!" the friend group gasped out; Draco looked over to them seeing the real confusion in Syrus' eyes.
"Before you start questioning about my mother, Sy." Draco called out to him, "Sophi Kaitos and Saffira are one and the same."
"Wait, are you saying?" Syrus began, "Yes, Sy." Draco replied interrupting him, "Sophi is her alibi, a false name to call herself outside of home."
"What kind of trick are you trying to pull, boy?!" The so-called vizier snapped, "They have no child! For they died sealing the Archfiends!"
Draco as well as Koraavnu both felt a sudden singe in the ai, at the mention of the Archfiends, "Young Lord?" The Sage asked, "Did you feel that as well?"
"I did." Draco replied, "If someone mentions the Archfiends and we both felt that singe in the air?"
"That could only mean one thing, that man struck a deal with them."
"There is no proof of what that mortal speaks of!" the vizier snapped again, "Guards! Spear Soldiers! Seize him!"
"You want proof?" Draco questioned, before eying the lock on the cage, holding out his arm as it was engulf with the White and Black swirl, Draco then snapped his fingers which caused a small fireball to shot out and explode on the lock of the cage, destroying it and allowing Alexis to open the door, letting the mall quickly get over to Draco.
"NO! Cannon Holders, FIRE!" the white hair man yelled.
Two men holding large wooden ancient cannons took aim at the gang, before pulling the small trigger which blasted two heavy metal balls at them.
"Kendov!" Draco ordered the Fighter, as he quickly took flight and landed behind the gang as Mana gasped out, "Dragon Style, Physical Barrier!" he roared out, before the dark purple circle appeared and took the blasts easily.
"What heresy is this?!"
Through the smoke, Dinok rushed through it and roared out as he emerged in front of the Cannon Holders, grabbing them by their heads and then slammed them into the Temple's walls embedding them into the ancient building.
"ENOUGH!" the Chief roared out, "EVERYONE STAND DOWN!"
"Kriist tum, Dovah Dein!" Draco spoke out getting the Guards to get back behind him, but in front of the friend group.
"Hey Mana?" Syrus asked, "Did that sound like that language Draco said in that song when Duel Spirit Day was over?"
"Yeah, it did." She replied.
"My Lord, Imhotep." The man spoke, "They must pay for not only damaging our Holy Temple but for spilling the blood of the Faithful!"
"Oh, but it's alright for you to try and spill the blood of a child?!" Draco snapped out.
"What was that?" Imhotep asked, with a shock expression.
"Don't listen to that Blasphemer!"
"You shut up!" Mindokah yelled out, "You have five goons try to kill my cousin for a blood sacrifice!"
"Chief." The Assailant spoke up as she got to her knees, "You are not the only to hear that heresy act."
"We heard it from them as well." The Spy added, "At first I thought they were making it up, but the way that little one was crying seem to erase all doubt of them lying."
"Not to mention, your Vizier there, jumped the gun." Koraavnu stated.
"I'm sorry, 'jumped the gun'?" the chief asked.
"It's a way of saying he exposed himself." Kendov stated, "He made a deal with Archfiends for power in exchange for blood."
"Lies!" he snapped out, "You are trying to save your tainted ways by soiling our noble traditions!"
It was then a large maelstrom of wailing souls erupted from the ground, causing Mana and Syrus to scream out and hug each other, before it vanish and one fully black armored dragon stood there glaring at the Gravekeepers and huffing out in rage as he held his left arm out, holding a soul as it them took the form of Leader of the Sacrifice Hunters.
"Hi laan wah dahkriis hin laas, mey?!" Silziigaaf snarled out.
"Isn't that one of our Ambushers?" the Chief asked.
"He was the one ordering four others to capture Sogaal for a sacrifice." Draco stated.
"You dare dishonor our dead?!" a woman in a white rode hold a staff similar to the Chief's question.
"Then before anything else." Draco spoke up holding his arm out, and activating his duel disk, "A duel to determine our fate."
The Chief looked at Draco with suspicious eyes, "And what do you hope to gain from this?"
"If I win, my friends and I have sanctuary here, I believe that's your trial correct?"
"Impressive, you know of our ways, boy. However, if I win, you all will be executed for our crimes in our Valley!"
"DUEL!"

"Hmm, maybe you are too blind to realize we are already in Necro Valley?" the Vizier hissed.
"Oh, I'm sorry. First time dueling in the Spirit World, Jackass!" Draco snarled out.
"My turn is over by the way." Imhotep called out.
Draco drew his card, and began to plan his turn, catching his eyes, his starting hand contain Sahlos and Kinbok.
"Sogaal needs them out." Draco thought, "Hmm, if I can remember, none of the spells are traps that support the Gravekeeper cards, none destroy monsters." "Alright, I'll pay 500 Life Points to Special Summon Sahlos, the Dragon Guard Seductress!"
Draco placed the first card down, as the first of his Guards appeared on the field, as Sahlos looked at the opponents and huffed out.

"I'll tell you in a second." Draco said, "After I summon Kinbok, Captain of the Dragon Guard!"
The second Guard appeared on the field taking a battle stance, but dropped it the second he spotted Sogaal, and she also saw him, "Bormah!" She cried out as Kinbok got over to them and knelt down.

"She apparently followed the Guards you sent to the ruins in the Human World." Draco explained, "And once we came here," Draco points to the man on the opponent's field, "that jackass told others to grab her as a Sacrifice!"
Kinbok and Sahlos glared over to the Chief's Vizier, as Kinbok raised his Claymore, "I'm going to enjoy tearing you apart!" he snarled out.
"I'll set these two cards down." Draco continued his turn, now having two cards in his hand, "Kinbok, Shattering Claymore Slash!"
Kinbok roared out and charged out, taking hold of his claymore with both hands, his eyes showed the full feral glare to kill.
"I activate my Continuous Trap, Necro Valley Temple!" Imhotep announced, the rap had an image of the very temple they were dueling in front of, "What this card does is, if I control a Gravekeeper monster, and Necro Valley, all of your monsters lose 500 attack points!"
Kinbok ATK/2400-1900
Sahlos ATK/2800-2300
"I'm still strong enough to kill that bastard that wanted to sacrifice my daughter!" Kinbok roared slashing his large sword into the Vizier as he yelled out, getting a clean cut in half before a blast sent the man plying back into the actual temple as Imhotep groaned out.

"Alright, my turn is over." Draco told him.
Imhotep drew his next card and just set it face down, "That's all I'll do." He said.
Draco looked at the card that appeared on the field, "Hmm, it must have an Ability when it's attacked. But the problem is, that trap." Draco drew his card, and in turn Sahlos stood up, glaring over to the man that Kinbok just slammed into the ancient building.
"Alexis." She hissed slightly.
"Umm, y-yes?" Alexis gasped slightly, "Hold Sogaal for me." She replied.
She handed her daughter to Alexis as Sogaal began to whimper and try to leap back to her mother, "Behave yourself, Sogaal!"
"Alright, I'll activate Pot of Greed!" Draco called out, drawing two cards, looking at them, he decided to go with a gamble, "Alright I summon Rovit, the Dragon Guard Scout!"
The white dragon appeared before looking over at Kinbok and slightly growled at him.

"And thanks to his Special Ability, if my top card is a Monster, I can automatically summon it."
"So, you'll get a fourth monster if your faith is strong?" Imhotep asked.
"Faith has nothing to do with luck." Draco replied as he picked his top card up and then chuckled, "I now summon Kendov, the Dragon Guard Fighter!"
After the card was slammed down, Kendov dashed out and stood next to Rovit taking his usual battle stance.

"And now, my face down!" Draco called out, "Compulsory Evacuation Device! This trap lets me return one monster to the owner's hand!"
"Wait that mean?!" Imhotep gasped out taking a step back.
"That's right." Draco told him, "You face down Gravekeeper returns to your hand!" The face down card suddenly shot off the field and returned to his hand, "Now, I doubt he knows about it the way he acted, but I can tell you two want to let out some rage. Kinbok, Sahlos! Attack Imhotep directly! Seductress Kick and Shattering Claymore Slash!"
Both of the parents snarled out and began charging at the Chief, Sahlos dashed ahead, spinning around before slamming her foot into Imhotep, as she hissed out, glaring at him.
Imhotep LP:3900-1100
Kinbok leaped over her as he roared out, swinging his sword down, and slashing the Chief, right as Sahlos pulled her foot away, causing the leader of the Gravekeepers to slam into the stone steps, groaning out in pain.
Imhotep LP:1100-0
As Imhotep groaned on the ground two women, one wearing the black robe and Anubis like head piece. The other wearing a white robe, with a golden cobra staff similar to the Chief's staff, wearing a few gold jewelry, and her head piece having a dark blue vizor over her eyes, she looks at the two dragons still standing where they attacked, feral glaring as they both huff and snarl out. She then walks over to them as she looks at them.
"Those attacks of yours." She stated, "They were a little extreme. If this wasn't a duel, you two would have defiantly kill Chief Imhotep."
"You can't really blame them." Draco stated, getting her attention.
"And why is that?"
"Like I said, that Vizier of yours wanted to sacrifice their daughter. And seeing how those I met so far say that blood sacrifice is heresy here, is that true?"
"It is." She answered, "No one would ever—"
"Then explain two things to me." Draco slightly demanded, "The first; when I mention that there five goons trying to capture a baby dragon for a sacrifice, why did your Vizier quickly jump- quite suspiciously mind you- to say no one is doing that?"
This time they all looked shock, before looking at the Vizier, who was grunting out as he began to stand back up.
"The second thing; as far as I know, only my parents, the Dragon Guards, and the dragons of my parents' clans, were the one who knew about the Archfiends' thirst for blood sacrifices. How is it your Vizier knew about them?"
This time Draco's friends, and the Gravekeepers gasped out in shock, "How can someone, who knew nothing about their sealing, tell me that my parents died sealing them up?!" Draco growled out, "And if he had others going around to find what you call 'Outsiders' to be his sacrifices, how would he know that dragon blood would be the best choice to further his own power?! The only way for him to know that, is if he contacted the Archfiends and made a deal with them!"
Kendov looked over to Silziigaaf still holding the soul of the Ambusher, "Is that what that soul told you, Gatekeeper?" he asked.
The Guard of Souls nodded with a huff, "Nii drey, tum wah fos faal Goraan Drog saag. Pah rok saag los vahzah." He replied.
Syrus looked at Silziigaaf, before gasping out as he suddenly remembering him, his shivering got Mana's and Banner's attention.
"Syrus?" Mana asked, "Are you alright, my boy?" Banner asked.
In turn, Silziigaaf glared over to them, getting Syrus to gasp again, Mana and Banner joining him as Pharaoh puffed and slightly growled in Banner's arm.
"Umm, Draco?" Alexis asked, "What did he say?"
"What the Gatekeeper said, in a nutshell," Koraavnu spoke up, "is what the soul he is holding said confirms that with the Young Lord's words."
Imhotep growled as he then turns to his Vizier, "You made a deal with Archfiends?!" he snarled, "You turned to Heresy!?"
He began to growl softly as he looked around as all the Gravekeepers readied their weapons, while softly calling him a Heretic, before he began to chuckled sinisterly before his staff changed, his hair got more spiked, in a wicked way, and began to glow a sinister light blue.
"I don't have to answer to you, weakling!" he hissed out, "I have had enough Sacrifices to become far stronger than you, old man!" He then slammed his staff to the ground, causing cracks before a blast of that blue energy shot out, slamming any Gravekeeper into the Temple walls or into the ground. Draco growled out taking a martial arts stance that matched Kendov's stance, before Kendov erupted with a light purple aura, as Draco erupted with his Flame.
"You dare challenge me?!" the Heretic hissed, "You have no idea what you are about to face!"
"Please." Draco mocked, "I dueled and defeated the Archfiends, you are nothing but another pawn to them!"
"And our Dragon Style hasn't failed me." Kendov growled.
The Heretic lifted his staff up as the top began to glow brightly, "Then die and become, my Ultimate Sacrifice!"
Suddenly, a stream of energy came blasting out of the sky, enveloping the Heretic as he yelled out in agony, before it was cut into silence as everyone watching him evaporate from the blast, leaving a crater where he stood.
"What in the name of Ra was that?!" Imhotep gasped out, as he and the other Gravekeepers were free from the magical grasp.
"Watchers!" the Priestess yelled out, "Origin of that blast?!"
"We don't know." One man yelled back from the top of the temple. Draco looked stun for a second before looking at Kinbok, "Hey, Captain?"
"Yes, Young Lord?"
That attack? Was it—"
"Shining Neutron Blast." Kinbok replied, "The attack of—"
"Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon." Draco replied.
Everyone gasped out, before they heard many large wings flapping, looking up, Draco gasped out, seeing three Blue-Eyes White Dragon, one Twin Burst, one Ultimate, and one Shining Dragon began to descend from the ever twilight sky. The three White Dragons touch down first, followed by Twin Burst and Ultimate. Finally, the Shining Dragon touched down, losing balance before Twin Burst tucked both heads under the Shining Dragon helping it regain its balance. Draco noticed the scales of the dragon were more dulled out, parts of the wings were slightly torn and some claws and horns were chipped or broken, some fangs of the dragon were also missing, suggesting the Shining Dragon is among Elder Dragons. The Shining Dragon began to let out an elderly hearty laugh.
"Didn't think I'll have the strength to fire that Shining Neutron Blast and land safely on the ground." He laughed out, before a seventh dragon landed behind him as it sighed out.
"Honestly, you barely made the landing, Dear." The final dragon spoke to him, also sounding elderly as well and female to top it off. The Dragoness' eyes were azure in color and her scales were a pale or dull silver to show her age.
Draco looked around and noticed Dinok was shivering in fear, he then looked around noticing the other Guards were gasping for breath before they all kneel down and bowed their heads in respect.
"Y-you honor us with your presents, High Lord Viinhezsot and High Lady Silonkun" they all spoke in unison.
The Gravekeepers gasped out hearing the names of the two older dragons and they got down on both knees and bowed their heads to the ground, Draco of course was very confused.
"High Lord and High Lady?" he questioned, before the Shining Dragon laughed again.
"Well, I won't expect you to know about High Lords or High Ladies." He laughed out, "That title is giving to Dovahs that have stepped down from being Jun and Jud. King and Queen."
"Wait, you were a Dragon King?!" Draco asked, "But how?! My mother and father are the current Dragon Queen and King!"
The silver dragoness perked up before she slowly walked towards Draco and lowered her head down to look at Draco more closely, causing him to slightly step back from the sudden invasion of personal space.
"Hmm."
"Can I help you, in anyway?" Draco asked, as she still looked at him.
"You won't happen to be Draco, would you?" Silonkun asked him.
"Yes I am." He replied, still uneasy with how close she was to him.
"What is your Dovah Yol?"
"My Dragon Fire?"
"Is it White or Black?" this question got Viinhezsot's attention, with slightly glaring eyes.
"And for your sake." He growled, "You better say it's the Holy White Fire and not that Tainted Black Fire."
Draco growled out as his swirl of White and Black Flame engulfed him causing Silonkun to gasp and lean back from him as Viinhezsot's eyes widen, "What the hell did you just say about my father's Black Fire?!" Draco growled out, "I don't care if you were a Dragon King, I'll mop the floor with anyone that disrespects any of my parents!"
The two Elder dragons look at each other, before Silonkun smiled and sighed out, looking at Draco, "That won't be necessary." She said, "You need to forgive him. He just has bad blood with your father, believing it was his Black Flames that corrupted our little girl."
"Your little girl?" Draco questioned.
"Plus, I'm not surprised you don't remember us." She continued, as she began to shine brightly, after the light died, what stood in front of Draco was an elderly woman, wearing a white sun dress, silver hair that stopped a little pass her shoulders and Azure eyes, "After all you were only five when you last saw us."
Draco looked at her for a few seconds, before his mind started to race back to a memory of him on his fifth birthday, of meeting two elderly people, his mother introduced him to.
"Wait a minute." Draco gasped out, "Y-you're my Grandmother?"
The group of friends gasped out in confusion; Bastion looked the most trying to find the right scientific equation to answer this family tree that is Draco's family.
"I-I can't even figure out how this is possible." He stammered.
"Not everything is solved with what you call science." Koraavnu told him, "Sometimes, it's best to never seek answers for everything."
"For the record you can all stop bowing down now." Viinhezsot spoke up, getting all Dragon Guards and Gravekeepers to rise up and Draco looking at him, "So he's?"
"Your Grandfather, yes." Silonkun replied, as she suddenly shifted back to the Silver Dragon, "Oof. Age really catches up to anyone, can't even hold that illusion, that Saffira uses in the Human World."
"So, why did you guys end up coming here?" Draco asked them.
"We sense the Flame of our daughter and believed she was in the Spirit World for a visit." Viinhezsot replied, getting an eye roll from his mate.
"Truth is, we sensed both of the Flames." Silonkun replied, "Like I said, he just has bad blood with your father. However," she then turns to Chief Imhotep, "Since my Grandson won this duel, this Trail of yours, doesn't that mean he gets one of those Shadow Charms you give to those who have Sanctuary in your Valley?"
"Shadow Charm?" Draco asked, before the Priestess approached him, giving him a black circlet necklace, well half of one, "We do have to apologize," the Priestess told him, "We only had one left, and we gave the other half to someone that beaten Chief Imhotep before you."
Draco took the half of a Charm and placed it around his neck and looked at it, as Alexis came up and looked at it as well, "Who one the other half?" she asked the Priestess.
"Hmm, his name was 'Acurseus'?" she replied.
"No, think it was 'Atuscurse'." A Spear Soldier added, before Draco manage to put the two names together and looked at Alexis who had the same facial expression of realization.
"Was it actually, 'Atticus'?" he asked.
"Yes, that was it." Imhotep replied, "His name was Atticus."
"He was here?!" Alexis gasped out, "My brother was here?!"
"Mindokah, that map of those who have seen Atticus!" Kinbok ordered.
The Scholar gasped out reaching into her satchel and pulled out a rolled-up map and unrolled it with many towns, "X" through, circled, or circled and "X" through, showing it to Kinbok and Imhotep.
"Could you tell me, where Necro Valley is located on the map?" Kinbok asked him, "We have been trying to find him since the Young Lord gave us the mission."
"Well, the Valley is right here." Imhotep replied, pointing to the upper far left of the map, Kinbok began to circle the area and then placed a check mark in it.
"Alright we go some good news for a change." He stated, "Do you remember how long it was since he was here?"
"It was about a week ago." Imhotep replied, "We have no idea which way he went."
Alexis smiled with a sigh of relief as Sogaal looked up at her slightly confused, "He was here, not too long ago." She said.
"That just means he could be back in our world or somewhere close-by." Draco said to her.
"Hey, Draco." Banner called out, "How are we to get back to our world?"
"That won't be a problem."
Draco looked back up to his grandmother before she, Viinhezsot, and all of the Blue-Eyes surround them, Syrus freaking out.
"What's this all about?" Draco asked.
"The seven of us are going to open a Fissure back to your world Draco." His grandfather replied, "Just don't move."
"You heard him, Sy." Draco told his little buddy, getting a frighten gasp from him, "Just stay calm and don't worry about it."
Sogaal leap out of Alexis' arms and ran back to Sahlos. The seven dragons let out a small stream of their attacks that swirled around them, each one slowly vanished one by one until Draco was the only one there looking at the Guards and smiled.
"You guys earned a break." Draco told them, "See you in the next duel."
"Of course, Young Lord." Kinbok replied as they all crossed an arm across their chests and bowed their heads, as he then vanished. The seven dragons finished sending them back and then began to fly back to their mountain lairs as Silonkun looked at Viinhezsot.
"Why didn't you tell him?" she asked.
"Hmm? Tell him what?" he asked.
"Why didn't you tell Draco about the Seven and the Cursed Trio?" Silonkun growled.
"Ha-ha! If I did, then he would have the days training and not spend time with the one he cares about." Viinhezsot chuckled, "It's the same reason you didn't tell Saffira about the return of the Archfiends. You wanted to see if Draco had what it takes to take on threats on his own."
"That's not true!" she hissed out.
"You can lie to everyone, but not me, my sweet mate." He replied looking at her, "He managed to destroy their puppet host and seal them up himself. I'm sure he'll be fine."
In the Human World, Draco and Alexis sat on some down pillars as they looked at the necklace he won. They talked about if they manage to find anyone with the other half, they know to ask about Atticus or anything related to him.
"This is the first time I have heard news about Atticus." Alexis told Draco, "You really think he's alright?"
"Without a doubt." Draco told her, just as everyone else was starting to wake up from the large amount of Spirit Energy.
"Ow! My head." Mana groaned.
"I concur with that statement." Bastion agreed.
"It feels like one of the staff holiday party aftermaths." Banner groaned out, "I haven't felt this bad since one of those parties."
Syrus groaned softly as he shook head and looked around, "Was that all a dream?" he asked, as he looked up seeing a glaring dragon looking at him, causing him to yell out and scoot back in fear.
"Do I look like something you can dream up?!" Dinok snarled.
"Dinok? Why did you stay behind?" Draco asked. Syrus now, really confused, looking back and forth between the two.
"Wait! That was all real?!" he asked, "So-so, Draco?! You really are a prince?!"
Everyone looked up seeing Dinok as well as he huffed out, "I stayed behind since the Captain was still pissed off with that Heretic." He replied, "So, I'm staying back, so his rage doesn't feed off of mine."
"Oh yeah." Draco simply said, "Anyways, Sy. Yes, I am a prince, and that's a story that will take far too long to explain."
"Well, I will just say this made things far more interesting for the Academy." Banner said with a smile, "About that Professor." Alexis said, "Could you keep this under wraps? I don't think Draco's mother can take four more people learning about Draco's heritage."
"Wait, how long have you known?!" Mana asked, looking at Alexis.
"I've known since Duel Spirit Day." She replied, "And it was by accident, Mana."
"She overheard Sophitia arguing with me." Draco told Mana, "And since then, Alexis knew what I was, but for four, I wouldn't be surprised if a Guard was watching you to ensure you don't spill the beans, so to speak."
"An-and who would be watching me?" Syrus asked looking at Dinok.
"I don't think anyone will." Draco replied.
"Considering, how frighten you are of me, you think I'll kill you if you told anyone." Dinok said.
"Dinok." Draco slightly growled, "I mean Syrus is usually around me, and I trust him. He won't tell anyone."
Syrus looked at Draco slightly surprised, "I just learn my best friend is a prince, and he trusts me not to tell anyone?"
"Well, as a teacher, it'll be easy for me to keep it hidden since, I'm busy with work, I'll properly forget the whole secret in a matter of days." Banner stated with a smile.
"Mrow." Pharaoh talked back, "I will to forget it, Pharaoh!"
"As for me," Bastion chimed, "I just had my first Spirit World expedition, I'll be too busy trying to find ways to—"
"I wouldn't if I were you!" Dinok snarled out, "Trying to find ways to open a Gateway into the Spirit World, who knows what dark beings will latch out to try and control you!"
Bastion looked shocked from the outburst, "He's right, Bastion." Draco said, "The last person I knew who made a deal with Dark Duel Spirits was a man named Titan and he was punished for it. Paying with his mind, soul, and body."
"So, what about me?" Mana asked before she felt two pairs of eyes looking at her from the shadows, sending chills through her body.
"I think you know the answer to that." Draco replied, "After that attempt you tried, I don't think Vonzun and Gahlot will let you out of their sights."
"Well, I think we had enough for today." Banner said as he looks out to the sea, as the sun began to set, "We seem to have been away far longer than planned."
They made their way back to the school grounds, Bastion headed back to the Yellow Boy Dorm, before Alexis lift to the Blue Girl Dorm, but not before kissing Draco good night as he did the same with her. As Draco, Syrus and Mana returned to the Red Dorm, Mana returned to her room as Syrus and Draco walked to their room, however Draco stopped as he felt a sudden rumble as he looked at the volcano ,feeling uneasy and he wasn't the only one, up in the Chancellor's office, Sheppard gasped out breathless as he saw the rising smoke from the volcano and saw three pairs of sinister eyes glaring back. Golden yellow, Sapphire blue, and gruesome Ruby red.
"No-no." Sheppard gasped out, "Wh-why? Why are they awakening?!"
Author's Note: OK this one took a while, because I had the bill to pay so I was out of WiFi for about half a month. However, the main was trying to get everything to flow, and I can already feel, that the duel between Draco and the Gravekeepers was short and I can feel the negative comments on it. But on another note, who has an idea on Mana's father is? And still would like to hear what is it you readers like of the story so far.
