Catherine looked at her watch. It was time to leave. She stood up and someone knocked on the door as she put her hand on the strap of her suitcase. Her heart beat harder filling her with hope. "Steve?" She thought, but soon reason told her it wouldn't be him because he was quarantined and nothing would be worse than being in a hotel, after all hotels get people from all over the world. She opened the door and confirmed that her heart was right.

"Steve, what are you doing here? You shouldn't be walking around!"

"Wow, this is not the reception I expected," he told her.

"I'm sorry, I'm just really worried about you. Lincoln told me you weren't leaving the house."

"Well, you didn't come to visit me. Technically you forced me to leave the house and come here. If I get infected with the virus it's your fault," he smiled as he said this.

"Don't even joke about that, Steve."

"I hate this mask thing. I can't see your smile like that," he told her and stepped forward.

"Steve... I don't know if I'm contaminated," she said as she took a step back.

"Are you feeling anything?" He was immediately concerned for her.

"No, thank God no. I'm not feeling anything physically, but this whole situation has the ability to affect our minds." She paused and took a deep breath. "I'm really scared, Steve. I never thought I would experience something like this."

"And why didn't you come to see me? " He asked.

"I thought it over and came to the conclusion that I have no right to impose my presence in your life. You didn't call me when Doris died, you were dating, so my heart was asking me to come and my reason was telling me to let you move on..."

"It was nothing serious," he interrupted her.

"I thought about meeting you on the plane, I thought maybe you were completing a cycle by finding out the whole truth about your mom and dad and leaving here. I thought maybe we could pick up where we left off when we were still in the Navy before you came to the island. But I think that was a lot of pretension on my part," she was honest with him.

"I also feel that I've closed the loop, Cath. I know that my coming here has hurt our relationship, but it was something I needed to do. And to find out that it all happened for money is disappointing. I didn't want that money. That money ruined my life and Mary's life."

"I'm sorry, Steve. And you're right about that money. That money isn't worth the tears you and Mary have shed since her childhood and your teenage years."

"And I was going to leave. I don't know where I would go, I just felt the need to go. I'm feeling lost, Cath."

Catherine looked at him with great affection. She wished she could hold him in her arms at that moment. "I also feel that my life is meaningless, Steve. You still have the Navy, you can come back if you want. I don't have the Navy anymore and I don't have you anymore. What have I done with my life? I've been living lives that aren't mine when I'm undercover, while my real life is empty." Catherine sighed. "I miss you so much and I regret leaving." She let a few tears run down her face.

"Well, I can't travel anymore and we don't know what might happen. These are dark times, Cath. We can get through all of this together. Come home," he asked affectionately.

Catherine nodded in agreement. "I will."

Steve quickly approached and hugged her before she could pull away. "Steve! We are being reckless. We need to wait at least until 14 days to make sure I'm not contaminated."

"It's just a hug," he said as he hugged her tightly.

"I love you," she said as she felt welcomed and loved.

"I love you too," he replied.

"I only have you in this world." She was thrilled.
