Julie's PoV

It was Wednesday and I had just woken up sweating and breathing heavily, I had just finished having another nightmare, the same one. Luke was patiently rubbing my back and trying to comfort me but I needed to get up and punch something or at least get moving. I got up and started pulling clothes on and noticed Luke had copied without even being asked. I didn't bother with snow pants, just boots, a jacket and mittens.

A few minutes later we were outside and I was jogging down the street with Luke at my side. I was so done with having nightmares, I was safe, I knew that so why couldn't my mental state catch up with that? I hadn't really been paying attention to the direction we were going in but eventually found myself at the supermarket. We ran for maybe thirty minutes and made great time considering the snow. Most of the sidewalks were cleared with salt to prevent ice but the occasional drive way hadn't gotten a chance to yet, possibly families were away for the holidays visiting family.

I slowed down as I neared the last intersection before getting to the supermarket to wait for Luke who I had left behind. At some point my jogging had progressed to flat out running.
"I'm not sure if you're trying to get me into shape or kill me?" Luke panted as he caught up.
"Sorry, I just needed to get out, I wish I could stop having nightmares" I replied as I kicked some ice that had started to form on the sidewalk.
"Come here" he said as he pulled me in for a bear hug. "It will take some time but you know you're safe and that I love you" he whispered into my ear before leaning back to gently kiss my forehead.

I pulled him back in for another hug then we started making our way slowly back enjoying the rising sun. Bobby was arriving today around lunch time. I hadn't seen him in years but I knew Reggie had caught him up with what had happened to me and that I should expect a massive hug from him. It must be so strange for Luke, Alex and Reggie to see Bobby as an adult while they were still teenagers.

Once me and Luke got home we quickly showered before coming back down to the kitchen to eat a late breakfast of ham and cheese croissants. Thankfully Reggie and Alex didn't ask questions about where we had been and just accepted that for what it was. It was two days till Christmas so Luke and I were going to start our baking schemes today after we said hi to Bobby.

After I was done eating, Luke had pulled me off to the lounge to curl up under a blanket and watch a movie while we waited with Alex and Reggie. They had picked The Santa Clause movie to watch but I didn't pay much attention to it as Luke was frequently distracting me with kisses to my temple, forehead or my neck while encasing me in his arms. My stomach was busy doing somersaults at the tenderness and love he was showing me and more than a few times I had caught him in a quick kiss back.
Eventually we heard the doorbell downstairs announcing Bobby's arrival, Alex and Reggie made their way to the front door while we took our time to stretch and follow.
"Where is she?" I heard from downstairs, it had to be Bobby. I heard his big footsteps as he climbed the stairs up to where me and Luke were descending.
"Im sooooo sorry Julie! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I should have checked in with you despite your asshole father, please forgive me!" said Bobby as he rushed towards me and bear-hugged me. I had to remind myself that this was a friend and not one of my fathers associates. It took me a moment to remember to breathe as obviously my mental state had issues with any older man even though I faintly could remember Bobby, but I hugged him back gently. Once I was released, I took a few steps back and leaned my back against Luke's chest who encased me in his arms around my waist. I could see over Bobby's shoulder that Reggie and Alex were giving me loving supportive looks but were also ready to probably make more space if I needed it.

"It's okay, you didn't know, no one did, it's not your fault so please don't blame yourself" I replied kindly.
"Still I will never forgive myself for that, you're the same age as Carrie and I just can't stop thinking about what would have happened to her if our roles had been reversed" Bobby said with tears glistening in his eyes.
"Alright big guy, let's go grab a drink and check out this house that you brought us" said Reggie, clapping Bobby on the back before leading him around the house starting at the lower level.
Alex gave me a gentle squeeze of my hand before racing past up the stairs while Luke and I followed Reggie and Bobby around. Alex returned a few minutes later with a glass of whisky and passed it to me with just a nod of his head. I smiled in understanding and sipped it. Maybe if I could get used to having Bobby around I could stop having nightmares.

We followed behind as Reggie showed Bobby all the rooms of our massive mansion, we then ended up in one of the lounges and pulled out some board games to play while Alex poured drinks and refilled mine. It had to only be around two in the afternoon but I wasn't complaining, it was helping my nerves a lot.

Eventually Luke challenged Bobby to some karaoke which got a wicked grin from Reggie as he zoomed off with Alex for a few minutes. They returned with a full guitar hero set up, drums, a keyboard, two guitars and two mics. I didn't think we would be able to all see what we needed to do but Reggie had thought of that also. He had the microphones set up in front of a smaller TV where the lyrics would show, then above the fireplace, behind a wall, opened up a bigger TV that would have the instructions for what we needed to do with our instruments. There were two boxes for the two guitars, a box for the drums and a box for my keyboard.

We quickly discovered that playing guitar hero was actually hard compared to playing our real instruments as it went against our muscle memory but we got there eventually. Luke and I had a turn singing together and I introduced him to Moulin Rogue and played the Elephant Love Medley. I was nice enough to let him hear the song first while we were awaiting our turn so that he knew roughly what the parts sounded like. We naturally rocked it and ended up singing it while holding hands and making our audience cry which had us giggling at the end. Since no one wanted to follow our performance I then set up the machine to play Come What May since it was a lot easier to sing without hearing it first. By the end of it we saw Alex, Reggie and Bobby swaying side to side on the couch, instruments abandoned just waving their cell phone torches in the air.

After a few more laughs, drinks and songs, we decided to order some Chinese before calling it an early night. Luke and I were going to get up early to start baking tomorrow, it would be Christmas eve. Alex and Reggie were going to work together with Bobby to set up birth certificates, passports and social insurance numbers.
