An- Last chapter for this one. This takes place a year and a half after the last chapter.
Joey didn't know what was happening until he kissed her nine months ago. When Dawson found out he was not happy with Pacey but Joey kissed him back on the side of the road.
Joey had realized something that day which was to let go of everything. She had fallen for Pacey harder and harder.
At the time it had been six months since Dawson and her slept together. But with every touch Pacey made onto her she felt different
She knew he was different by how he took care of her by making her meals when she couldn't eat after telling Dawson they couldn't be together. How he made sure she wasn't alone on the days she felt terrible. How he fell asleep on the floor just talking to her because neither of them wanted to be alone.
The day Pacey kissed her she knew this kiss was different than any other kiss she had, it was unlike Dawson, Jack or Anderson. Because this time she felt alive for the first time in a long time.
Now, she was looking at him as the sunshine came through the bedroom window of the cabin. She looked over at him as he smiled up at her.
"You alright?" He asked quietly as she nodded her head and turned to face him.
"I love you, Pacey."Pacey smiled as he kissed her and just like the night before they started to make love again.
She never felt more than safe than she did right now. She never felt more alive and free. This was her life for the past year and a half Pacey Witter made her feel special and happy.
She stopped allowing herself to feel like the world was against her and instead she allowed herself to be free. Free from anything that didn't make her feel like she did right now.
Dawson and her never became friends again especially after hearing about Pacey and her. But she didn't care, she had found her person. So instead of allowing herself to run, she stayed. She stayed right where she was because this is where she belonged.
