Title: Life Day Tree
Characters: Hera Syndulla, Kanan Jarrus.
"Are sure thats how your supposed to do it?" Hera asked, giving Kanan a skeptical look as he attempted to cut down the tree they had chosen for Life Day, "It's fine, Hera, I know what I'm doing." Kanan responded as he attempted to chop down the tree. Hera was torn between being concerned for Kanan's saftey, and being mildly amused by the whole thing. "Why don't just use," she motioned to the unassembled lightsaber on his belt, "It would be faster and probably safer." "Are you out of your mind!?" Kanan asked in a whisper yell, "What if someone sees it?" "Kanan, we're in the middle of nowhere, who's going to see anything?" Hera asked sarcastically, Kanan paused, "I don't know, someone!" Hera raised her hands in mock surrender and Kanan went back to trying to cut down the tree. An hour later, and Kanan was still trying, and failing, to cut down the tree. "I'm tired of this," he said, "We should just get an artificial one." "Kanan you are no closer to getting that tree down than you were an hour ago, just use your lightsaber." Hera said dryly, "Besides, everyone else is probably done with their Life Day errands and I do not want those kids wrecking my ship." Kanan gave her an annoyed look, glanced around the clearing, then pulled out his lightsaber. He sliced through the bottom of the tree in one swift move. It fell to the ground as he deactivated his saber and clipped it back to his belt. As they started to drag the tree back to the Ghost, Kanan spoke up, "Alright, just say it." "Say what?" Hera asked, "You know what." Kanan stated, "You mean, I told you so?" she asked, "Alright, I told you so." Kanan nodded and they continued walking, "I should have listened to you." He said and Hera smirked, "It certainly would've gotten us done faster, but you were right too. We do need to be careful." They both smiled as the Ghost came into view and the sounds of Sabine, Ezra, Zeb, and Chopper arguing about something drifted out.
A/N: It's a little late, but I did manage to write a new chapter. Today was crazy, but I still pulled this off. It's supposed to snow a little tomorrow so maybe that will inspire me. We'll see. Thanks for reading and hope you've enjoyed my stories.
