Hello everyone I'm back with a new chapter. Thank you to everyone who has followed it so far and for all the feedback, if any of you have any suggestions or ideas I'm always open to them. Now with that let's get in to the chapter.
On a side note I some how missed including Lapras in Ash's pokemon group, that will be fixed in due time.
Ash was grinning ear to ear with Pikachu on his shoulder looking at their newly acquired gym badge, "This awesome Pi, we've got 3 badges now and everyone is looking great in battle."
"Pi pika kachu." The electric mouse said excitedly pumping his fist.
"Ash that was an awesome battle and your pokemon looked so strong out there." May complemented snaking her fingers around Ash's. "I was so impressed with how Sandslash battled too, for being as young and how new to your team he is."
"So am I, his drive to improve is so strong and his battle spirit is as bright as all my other pokemon." He replied looking at the particular poke ball. They turned down the road towards the Pokemon Center when a sudden rustling in the bushes next to them caught Ash's attention. Before he could react a blur flew through the air knocking him to the ground, Pikachu luckily had the reflexes to jump to safety.
Pikachu, Lucario, and Glaceon all took defensive stances not knowing what had just hit Ash. Lifting his head from the ground seeing something pressed to his chest. All he could make out was a slightly pinkish fluff, a small amount of light pink skin, and a green ball at the end of the object.
"Flaa flaaffy ffy!!" I happily cried out.
"A Flaffy?" May said in a confused tone.
Ash managed to sit up and could fully see the pokemon in front of him, he stared for a moment before he smiled. "Flaffy I can't believe it's you. What are you doing here?"
The electric pokemon began to speak quickly and gesturing with her arms. Ash chuckled, "Slow down my friend I can't quite understand you."
May watched for a moment before she spoke, "Ash, I take it you know this Flaffy?"
Ash stood up and looked at May, "Yes I met her when we went to Mt. Silver." Flaffy looked at Ash with a smile. "Let's go to the Pokemon Center and I can explain it."
They continued on their way and Flaffy stayed next to Ash's side as they walked. They went to the bench area outside of the center to sit in the shade, "I'm going to get my pokemon checked real fast and I'll be right back. Flaffy stay here with May, ok. She's really sweet and she's also my girlfriend."
The shiny pokemon looked at May and smiled before nodding to Ash. He quickly went and handed his pokemon to Nurse Joy. "I'll bring these out to you when I'm done Mr. Ketchum."
"Thank you so much I appreciate it so much." Ash went back to the bench and sat down with May, Glaceon, Lucario and Flaffy.
"Ok May I'll explain how I met Flaffy." Ash said.
Flashback
Ash and his group of pokemon had been at Mt. Silver for only a few days, still getting their bearings for the wild area they had picked to finish their training.
"Ok everyone this is going to be our greatest test, reaching the summit of the mountain from the back will teach us different battle techniques and we'll face some of the strongest wild pokemon there are." All the pokemon cheered as they all shared the same expression as their trainer looking toward to the top of the massive mountain.
It was slow going as there wasn't a path to follow so the group had to carefully pick their route and be weary of any accidents that could occur. One morning they heard the sound of cries coming not far from their camp and they quickly headed in the direction. Coming into a clearing they seen a group of injured and frightened Mareep huddled together. Around them was a handful of Ursaring growling at them and they were launching multiple attacks at the wool pokemon. In front of the small group stood a shiny Mareep, the small pokemon held its ground and battled back launching counter attacks of it's own, however it was a losing battle the Ursaring outnumbered it and were vastly stronger.
Ash and his pokemon quickly jumped into action they drove off hibernator pokemon with only a few mild injuries. They turned back to the frightened wool pokemon and started to treat them. The shiny Mareep was leery at first but once it seen that Ash and his pokemon meant no harm, it gingerly made it's way to Ash once the rest had been healed.
"Well I was wondering when you were going to come over. You're very brave to stand up for your friends that way, but you are really hurt." Ash said to the pokemon as he looked over the injuries. "It'll take a day or two but we'll get you healed up and you'll be good to go." While Ash worked on the shiny pokemon's injuries, Lucario spoke with the other pokemon and learned what had happened. After finishing up and letting the Mareep rest, Ash walked over to Lucario, "What did they say happend?" Ash asked, handing an Oran berry to his aura partner.
"Master, they told me that originally their home was further away from here but were drove away by a group of Ariados. They were searching for a new area to make a new home in, but they unknowingly crossed into Ursaring territory."
"Hmmm that is definitely a problem, and don't call me master, we're partners" Ash said with a small frown. Turning to the rest of his pokemon Ash spoke, "Everyone we're going to stay here for a bit to train and help these guys out. We'll help the get the strength to take back their home and continue to work on our team battling."
It only took a couple of days to help the group of pokemon learn new attacks and how to fight as a group. The day before they departed to go back to their home, Ash and his pokemon were finishing trianing with them and packing up camp. A bright light of a Hyper Beamsuddenly streaked threw the trees catching everyone off guard. The Ursaring had returned in greater number and were out for revenge. Ash's pokemon quickly began to retaliate as Ash called out counter attacks, the Mareep wanting to repay the group for all the help jumped into the middle of the fray. They quickly formed up and began firing rapid attacks from the side causing the Ursaring to shift their attention away from Ash and his pokemon. With that moment of distraction Ash made his move, his fighting pokemon flung themselves into the middle of the Ursaring with Ash joining in using is arua powers. They began to push the attacking pokemon out of the area, a light began to shine from the group of Mareep. When the light died down a shiny Flaffy stood proudly before its friends and with new found strength it charged the pokemon. Grinning at Ash, they made one last charge at the hibernator pokemon sending them running for cover.
The whole group cheered loudly about their victory, "Well then, I guess you will have no troubles when you guys get back home, Flaffy you are definitely amazing and you'll make a great leader for them." Ash said rubbing the wool pokemon's head. "Good luck to you guys maybe one day we'll meet again."
With that the two groups went on their way, one to go back to their home, the other to find theirselves a place to call home.
End flashback.
"Ash, it's safe to say you had a lot more adventures then you told us all back in Pallet Town." May said in awe. She was shocked to hear that a small pokemon like Flaffy could take out Ursaring they way she did, May knew size doesn't always mean power but Ursaring are no weaklings in the power department.
"Well I guess I did." Ash said rubbing the back of his head. "I never thought about telling all of those kinds adventures. I'm sure I'll have many more to share with you May." Turning back to Flaffy, "Now, why don't you tell me why you're here."
Flaffy looked at both trainers before she began to talk, Ash listened intently while the pokemon spoke. May watched and wondered how it was that Ash could understand all types of pokemon.
After a few minutes Ash spoke, "Well that's quite impressive, I'm glad everything turned out for you."
"What did she say?" May asked.
"She said that after her and her flock left Mt. Silver, they returned to their home. The Ariados tried to frighten them away, but they were all bark and the flock quickly drove them away." Ash explained, "After a few months they continued living happily there and a few more Flaffy had evolved. She decided that now there were more powerful pokemon in the flock she wanted to come find me. Apparently she tracked me through talking wild pokemon who seen me leave Mt. Silver."
"It seems you make a lasting impression on everyone you meet even pokemon." May said with a chuckle. "I know you definitely left on me." She added with a gentle smile, which made Ash blush slightly.
"I never thought about it too much, I just always want to help." Ash said shyly, Lucario just shook his head at the denseness of his trainer. "Flaffy, did you track me all this way to join our family?" He asked the shiny electric type.
"Fla fla ffy!!!" She chanted eexcitedly, and vigorously nodding her head.
Ash chuckled, pulling out a poke ball, "Welcome to our family." Flaffy looked the sphere of a moment before hitting the button and being sucked in. The light pinged almost instantly, then I shrunk down with the center turning red.
"I guess our family has grown by one now." Ash cheered happily while Pikachu jumped into his shoulder smiling with his oldest friend. "Pikachu, you're all done I guess?"
"Mr. Ketchum, here are the rest of your pokemon they are fitting fit again" Nurse Joy said smiling handing Ash the rest of his poke balls.
"Thank you very much Nurse Joy." Ash said putting the poke balls back on his belt.
"Ash you definitely have away with pokemon and you never cease to amaze me" May said kissing her boyfriend on the cheek.
"What do you mean?"
"From what I've seen and the stories you've told, you haven't battled many of the pokemon you've caught. They typically want to join you on their own free will. That in my opinion makes you the greatest pokemon trainer." May said as she looked him straight in the eyes.
A blush creeped across Ash's face, "I don't know about the greatest, but I just want my pokemon to be happy. If joining me does that then I'm happy with that choice."
May just shook her head with a smile. She reached up kissed his lips softly, "Ash Ketchum you are one of a kind. You're a great man, an amazing trainer and the best boyfriend." Their lips were mere centimeters away from each other, "And most importantly you're the love of my life." With that the two trainers pulled themselves together sharing a deep ppassionate kiss that seemed to never end.
Finally the two separated for a need of air, breathing heavily they stared into each other's eyes. The love they shared between each other flowed freely like a raging river and they knew that nothing could come between them.
Ash smiled at May, "Thank you for that May, but I always want everyone happy and to make their own choices. I know with my pokemon, my friends, family, and you by my side I feel like nothing can stop me."
May smiled at his comment,"I know what you mean Ash, I feel the same way. Now let's go get our things and head out to the next stop."
Pikachu hopped from Ash's shoulder and walked alongside Glaceon infront of the group as they headed back to their room, Lucario followed behind Ash, and the two trainers intertwined their fingers smiling at the warmth they felt inside. After a quick check through they had everything packed up, they checked out of the Pokemon Center and headed down the road once again.
"So Ash what is the best way to get to Maiden's Peak?" May asked as they made their way through town.
"Well I thought we could take a ferry since it would be faster than going all the way around and back tracking. That would also get us there in time for the festival they hold." He replied.
"There's a festival there? What kind is it?" May asked.
"Yeah every year they hold a festival during the summer and people come to pay their respect to maiden who died waiting for her lost love. At the end they release small boats with lights to help guide the spirits home." Ash explained as they beagn to walk through the trees.
"That sounds amazing I'm glad we're going, because I'd like to see all that." The brunette coordinator said happily.
"You didn't ever stop there when you were traveling through Kanto?" He asked.
"Well between competing in contests and looking for you I didn't have much extra time." May answered.
"Oh... I didn't realize that I took up so much of everyone's time. That's not what I wanted to happen." The raven haired trainer replied looking at the ground, feeling slightly ashamed of himself.
Ash felt May stop suddenly and pull him around to face her, "Ash its ok, we chose to look for you, because we all care about you and because we wanted to know you were safe. Don't feel ashamed for your actions, you did what you needed to do and all that matters is you're back." May looked directly into Ash's eyes and continued, "If you hadn't have left, everyone who came together and found love might not have had that happen. You left to grow and get stronger, and in away so did all of us."
Ash smiled at his girlfriend pulling her into his arms holding her close, "Thank you May, you always have the right thing to say and helping me see a different perspective." He pressed his lips to hers before they continued through the trees.
They walked for a little over an hour before coming to the dock that would take them to Maiden's Peak. May waited with the pokemon while Ash went to go get their tickets. She sat near the waters edge enjoying the view when Ash came back to them.
"So they said the last ferry for the day already left but there will be one first thing in they morning." Ash explained, "We could just wait or I can go back to town and get my Gyarados."
"I'm fine with staying here for the night," May said, "I know the Pokemon Center is close by but I think sleeping out here by the shore would be amazing." She said with her blue eyes gazing at the peaceful ocean before them.
"I like that plan May, we can setup camp just at the edge the trees and enjoy the beach and water." Ash replied with a smile.
While Ash and May began setting up camp they let their pokemon out to enjoy the fresh air and play. Ash had sent Scrafty back to the lab so he could have Flaffy with him and begin her training. The shiny pokemon was already familiar with Ash's pokemon so there wasn't real a need to warm up to but her strength was a ways away from the rest. While they played Ash secretly told them to push her limits a little to begin getting her strength up.
May watched the group play after she finished getting a fire started and she smiled seeing how happy everyone was. Looking back towards Ash who was setting up the tent she couldn't help but smile to herself, after all their adventures and the heartache of losing Ash she was finally where she wanted to be. Whether they were traveling, battling, or in a home together all she wanted was to be with him.
Ash was having similar thoughts, ever since he left Hoenn he felt like something wasn't right and although he was happy it never was true happiness. Once he returned and seen May once again he knew thats where he belonged by her side for forever.
Once they were all settled in and set up, May and Ash began to cook their dinner and prepare the pokemon food. Sitting around the fire they found peace in the crackling of the flames and the gentle sound of the water coming onto the beach. With their bellies full the pokemon began to doze off and the camp was filled with the sounds of peaceful slumber.
Ash sat with his arm around May as they enjoyed the moment and each other's presence. Staring up the stars Ash felt as if he was invincible with May by his side. May looked into Ash's chocolate eyes and felt her heart burn with passion of a million suns, and she knew that she could do anything she set her sights on with him cheering her on.
Feeling May's head lightly fall in his shoulder Ash looked down at her and smiled seeing her sleeping face, "May let's go lay down for the night." He said with a gentle shake to wake her up.
"Ok Ash I'm ready for a good rest." She replied with a yawn. Returning their pokemon they called into the tent and lied town next to each other and let sleep carry them to their dreams.
At that moment a figure was slowly moving through the waters with one thought on its mind, a certain raven haired trainer was its target.
