Prompt: Hey can you please write a one shot where either Will or Percy are Nico's bestie so when Anubis is visiting Nico he sees them acting all close and stuff then unnecessary jealous and Anubis acting all possessive and chiz

Anubis stepped out of the duat and into the sunshine at Camp Half-Blood. He glanced around and spotted his boyfriend down in the lake. The god smiled but it froze on his face as he walked closer. Nico looked as if he was having the time of his life, in the middle of a water-war with one Percy Jackson.

The son of Poseidon had the younger demigod in a vice grip with a fist of water, flinging him around. Nico retaliated by making a pillar of soil burst from the water, pushing Percy up in the air.

Anubis felt his mouth pull downwards in a frown, his eyebrows drawing together. He wasn't sure how to feel about what he was seeing. He knew that Nico's crush on Percy was in the past, but that didn't mean he felt totally comfortable watching his boyfriend having loads of fun with his good friend Percy.

Nico had stopped his dirt flinging to crack a grin as he locked eyes with the god. "Hey-" he was cut off as Percy had seen an opening and tackled him, sending them both down in the shallow water.

The son of Poseidon formed a sword of water and pointed it at Nico's throat, "My win, again."

Nico scoffed, "Again? Like you always win. Oh, wait, that's me."

Anubis cleared his throat, "Mind getting off my boyfriend, Jackson?"

Percy blinked as he looked up at the god, "Anubis! Hey!" He got up and clapped Anubis on the shoulder. The god felt his eyes narrow at the familiar touch.

Nico got up, his soaked t-shirt and pants clinging to his skin. "Hey, death-breath," he said, planting a kiss on Anubis' cheek.

The god frowned and grasped Nico's chin to kiss him hungrily, blaming his actions on the fact that they hadn't seen each other for over three weeks. The son of Hades let out a surprised squeak, but leaned into the kiss nonetheless.

Anubis bit Nico's lip lightly before pulling away. He glanced over to Percy and couldn't help the smirk ghosting his lips at the demigod's awkward stance, his eyes looking anywhere but at the couple.

Nico pulled his sword out of the water and turned to Percy. He tugged on his wet clothes and raised an eyebrow, "Do you mind?"

The son of the sea-god looked sheepish, "Yeah, sure, sorry." He stepped over and let his hand rest against Nico's chest. Anubis felt his fingers jerk with the need to grab Percy's hand and twist it painfully away from his adorable boyfriend's chest. He watched on as the water on Nico's body rose from him in droplets before dropping to the ground around him.

Percy ruffled Nico's hair affectionately, "There you go, man."

The Ghost King brushed his hand off, dragging a hand through his hair to fix it. He fastened his sword at his belt and locked eyes with Anubis, smiling.

The god was about to open his mouth but was interrupted by Percy. "Dude, you should eat with us!"

Anubis felt his eyes narrow in annoyance at being interrupted, "I suppose. But I'll be sitting with Nico."

Percy held his hands up, "Of course, I wouldn't dream of ruining your lovey-dovey time." Nico punched him in the shoulder for that comment. Anubis frowned more.

They started walking towards the dining pavilion and Anubis felt the urgent need to place himself between his boyfriend and Percy. He wrapped his arm around Nico's waist as they walked, earning him a raised eyebrow from him due to his odd behaviour.

"So, Anubis," Percy started on his other side. "Nico tells me you've been swamped with the dead in the Hall of Judgement. How're you handling everything?"

Anubis felt his eyebrow raise, "We're handling it, but it's tiring to travel around so much to lead the dead through the duat. Today is the first time I've seen the sun, actually."

Percy gaped at him, Anubis felt a slight smugness at his reaction, "What?! You have been stuck in that "duat" place for so long?"

The god looked at him, surprised that he ad heard of the duat, "I'm used to it, but it gets boring after a while, it's like you don't notice time passing."

The son of Poseidon glanced at Nico, "I don't even know how you two can stand that type of travel. I always feel cold and empty when I shadow-travel with Nico." He shuddered.

Anubis frowned, how much time did Nico spend with Percy? He knew they were good friends, but he had no idea that they travelled together. He felt his grip on Nico's waist tighten involuntarily. The son of Hades didn't seem to mind, leaning into him.

"It's easier when you travel with someone else," Nico said. Anubis looked at him, seeing the adoration in his eyes. He felt his heart swell at the sight of his tiny smile.

The god smiled warmly and nuzzled his cheek, Nico giggling.

"Aw," Percy spoke up beside them.

Anubis resisted the urge to roll his eyes, "What?"

Percy looked sheepish, he scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, "I just think you're cute. I get a bit taken aback when I notice how similar you guys are."

Nico scoffed, "You're not the first one to say that, believe me."

"I think it's a good thing!" Percy said quickly. "It's better for Nico to be with someone like you, Anubis. You complement each other, y'know."

Anubis raised his eyebrows, surprised at the honest sentiment, "Thank you, I guess."

Percy looked slightly less uncomfortable, "Yeah, man. He's much better of with you than me."

The Egyptian felt his jaw tighten, scowling at the demigod, "What are you talking about?"

Percy looked like he'd spotted a ghost, his face suddenly fearful. He raised his hands in surrender, "I don't like him or anything, I'm very happy with Annabeth. I was taken back to Nico confessing his old crush on me, and it made me think of how happy I am that he found you, because you're such a good match."

Anubis felt his eye tick in annoyance, he didn't need reminding that Nico liked Percy, but he pressed his feelings down to pick up on what the demigod was actually saying, "I hope you're right, cause I'm never letting him go."

Nico scoffed beside him, "I'm right here, y'know. Stop talking about me like I'm not here."

Anubis turned to him, kissing his cheek, "I know exactly where you are, mio amore."

The son of Hades glared at him, but it had no anger behind it, "I should never have taught you anything in Italian. I hate you."

"You love me."

"Yeah, I do," Nico turned his head to place a kiss on the god's lips.

Anubis jolted as he felt a hand on his shoulder, he turned towards Percy.

"Hey," the son of Poseidon said, suddenly serious. "Take care of him." It wasn't a question.

The Egyptian nodded, "Always."

Nico grunted, "Hey! I'm still here!"

Percy and Anubis laughed.

Hey, guys. I'm back from the unnanounced hiatus. Sorry about the wait :)
