Prompt: Nico and Anubis meeting up at a graveyard and meeting some freaky teens that meet up at graveyards to do "magic" rituals.

Anubis stepped out of the duat and into his favourite graveyard (actually, it was Nico's favourite, so that made it his too). It was pretty small, and therefore people didn't visit as often.

Looking around, he could spot his lover crouching behind a gravestone a few meters away.

He walked closer, noting how Nico tensed before relaxing again, probably recognising his magic signature. He crouched down beside him, leaning over to plant a small kiss on his cheek.

"Hey," he whispered. "What's up?"

Nico nodded towards a group of teenagers that were huddled together at the other side of the graveyard. He almost couldn't make them out in the darkness, but his jackal eyes helped him out.

He heard a chuckle beside him. "I always forget how yellow your jackal eyes are. They're so pretty."

He shoved the demigod playfully, earning a glare.

"Stop that, you'll blow our cover," Nico whisper-yelled, no real anger behind the words.

"What are we covering for?"

Nico snickered. "They're doing some kinda ritual. They're doing it all wrong though."

Anubis raised an eyebrow in silent question.

Nico rolled his eyes at him before pointing. "See that guy holding the book?" Anubis looked at the skinny blond guy in the middle. "Well, he's reading the incantations wrong. He probably doesn't know that intonation plays a huge part."

Anubis listened closely at what the blond kid was saying. It seemed to be some poor try at Latin, but the intonation was indeed all wrong.

Nico pointed again. "The brunette over there has drawn the symbols wrong too. They're supposed to be mirrored. They're serious amateurs."

"How do you know so much about this?" Anubis wondered aloud.

Nico smirked sideways at him. "I kinda had a phase where I tried to summon different creatures." He waved his hand about. "That was before I could properly summon and control skeletons."

"And the Latin?"

"I learned it when I was travelling between Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter. It was super irritating to not be able to read everything. And I was supposed to be related to Pluto in some way, so it came in handy to not raise suspicions."

They sat in silence for a few minutes, watching the teenagers try and fail to summon whatever it was they wanted to summon.

Nico suddenly started giggling beside the god. Anubis looked at him, knowing he had some stupid idea.

"What now?"

"I just had a great idea," Nico started, grinning widely. "What if I summon some skeletons to keep them company?"

Anubis shook his head in exasperation. Leave it to Nico to scare poor teenagers half to death with some "great" idea.

"Please?" Nico pleaded, turning on his doe-eyes.

"Fine."

Nico pumped his fist in the air. "Yes! Thank you." He leaned closer to give the god a chaste kiss on the lips.

Anubis huffed in mock annoyance as he watched his boyfriend rub his hands together in a scheming fashion.

They krept a bit closer, keeping to the ground to not be noticed. Nico sat down on his knees in the grass as he started doing his thing.

At first nothing happened. Then all hell broke loose.

Anubis hadn't watched that many movies in his time, but had heard a whole lot about something called "zombie movies". If he would imagine a movie like that, it would have a scene like the one before him.

First the ground started to shake slightly. The teens promptly shut up, staring around in a mixture of fear and awe.

"Did we do that?" the blond guy said.

"I dunno," the brunette said, a sight quiver in her voice.

The two other teens in the group looked about ready to bolt as the ground shook harder, a groan coming from the earth beneath their feet.

"I don't really like this," one said, his voice gone a pitch higher than it probably was.

Nico snickered beside Anubis, twisting the skull ring on his finger.

The blond guy screamed bloody murder as a skeletal hand burst out of he soil between his feet, grabbing his pant-leg.

The brunette saw what was happening and started screaming too.

The two remaining teens stood up, ready to run away. Two sets of hands rose from the ground to wrap around their ankles, stopping their retreat before it even began. They sounded like they'd been shot or something, their screaming deafening.

The poor brunette girl tried to crawl away as skeletons started climbing out of the soil, grasping at her heels. She got to a gravestone, only to realise there was a skeleton leaned up against it. It embraced her from behind. She started to thrash, screaming that this was a mistake. One skeleton crawled all the way up to her face, and it had a nice couple of earth-worms stuck in its eye sockets. One worm slithered out of the skull and fell on the girl's face, causing her to pass out.

The blond kid was still screaming bloody murder. The skeleton had risen up from the earth, pulling itself up with its grip on the teen's legs. It was climbing up onto the boy's shoulders, soil falling from its mangled ribcage. It grabbed onto the blond's ears, chattering its teeth as it started to gnaw at his ears. Then suddenly, the teen fell to the ground, unconscious.

Anubis raised an eyebrow at Nico. The demigod smirked at him. So the passing out was him too.

He decided that he wanted to take part in the fun. Cracking his neck, he transformed into his jackal form. Nico smirked beside him. He ran a hand along the god's flank, receiving a chin lick in return.

Anubis stalked forward. His jackal form was pretty big, definitely larger than most dog breeds. He figured it would be perfect in the darkness of the graveyard.

As he drew nearer, the two conscious teens took notice of him. Their eyes grew comically large.

"Nope! What the fuck is that?!" one shrieked.

"I don't fucking know!"

"I knew we should've never tried to summon anything!"

"I didn't think it would be like this! Fuuuuck!"

Anubis growled low in his throat. The teens shuddered as they looked at him. It was actually kinda nice, getting some reactions out of mortals again.

He puffed up his fur and snarled at them as he stalked around them in a circle. He let some of his aura turn visible as it swirled around him.

"Nice- nice doggy."

That was definitely not the right thing to say to Anubis. Ever.

He lunged forwards, snapping his jaws just in front of the offender's face. That seemed to trigger the thing Nico did, because his eyes rolled back in his head. His body sagged to the ground.

The remaining teen was staring at his friend.

"What the fu-" he started, but was interrupted by the snapping of fingers next to his head. He was out cold by the time he slumped back into Nico's arms. The demigod had snuck up behind him.

Anubis transformed into his human form. Were they done now?

"I figured we could be nice and cut the last one some slack," the demigod muttered, a smirk on his face.

"I'm sure he'll be thrilled about that."

Nico rolled his eyes at him. "C'mon, let's place them back to where they were originally." He started dragging the brunette back to her place. "Hopefully, they'll think this was all a dream or something, and not try to perform stupid summonings all wrong."

They reorganised the scene. Nico ordered the skeletons back into the ground, sealing the soil back over them. After a while, the graveyard looked exactly the same as when they'd arrived.

Nico brushed off his pants. "Well, this was fun."

Anubis scoffed, but sauntered over to pull the other into a searing kiss. "Even though you're kinda dorky sometimes, I still love you."

Nico chuckled, brushing a hand down the god's back to lightly pinch his ass. "Oh, please. You know I've only been infected with your lameness."

"Yeah, right."
