Disclaimer: Do not in any way, shape, or form own Inuyasha, Naraku, Kanna, etc., etc., etc... The poetry, however, is mine.
This was inspired by recent events in the Manga, in which, without spoilers, I can safely sayKanna shows certain signs that she is not a mindless, expressionless clone. Just which side she's on is up for debate, but I am inclined to think she might be on one of her own...
I, Nothing: Being the musings of a certain mirror-wielding Demon on her existence...
Nothing.
You say I am Nothing
You say that I
am a shell, non-existent;
a spot of grey in your bright, bright world.
Not a blight,
not a mould,
just absence.
Nothing.
What is nothing?
It is eternal,
and endless, the absence of presence;
it cannot be contained.
Yet you say I am nothing
In this shell of a being,
Just a whim of his flesh
Just a daughter, perhaps
Tied, wicked soul bound
in reins of his blood.
You think that my purpose
Is of his own making
that I am
devoid
of purpose, of life.
You think I am nothing;
just a tool to be used.
No choice of her own,
the poor little nothing...
Mindless and soulless;
used and controlled.
You think, and you judge,
That is your way.
You think, but know nothing.
I know what I do.
Every life I break,
I count.
Every soul I take, I
Am aware
Know the misery I cause.
Evil incarnate, perhaps, but not mindless.
...who thinks he knows me...owns me…knows nothing.
Foolish children,
I, born of his flesh,
am so much the wiser
foolish spider, he
spins his vast web while caught in my own...
For though I am nothing
A void of despair,
No feelings,
Emotions,
the oblivion of death...
I exist.
I am as he created
Not a nothing, a monster
trapped in this way
in this box of cold flesh.
The void within, violated
calls
for revenge.
You see, I am Nothing.
Eternal and endless,
...the end of all things.
So I wait,
and I watch.
Eternity slides past...
...but I have the time...
I know it's hard to review poetry but I would really appreciate any advice or comments you can think of! Critiques are welcome. Thank you for reading!
