Hello People, Err, so... I hope you're all well.

Enjoy the next chapter! I don't own this...

Last time on Black and White:

'Once a teacher arrives, we find out what Tonks learnt then we find the thing that did this and show it why you do not fuck with a Potter or their friends.' Andrew thought back in a low growl.

But that isn't what made Harry feel so unnerved it was that he felt what he his brother was feeling. His anger, his hurt, his... disappointment. And Harry couldn't help but feel the same. He looked up at Andrew again and blinked before frowning and blinking again.

"What?" Andrew asked his eyebrows furrowed.

"... No, nothing." Harry said shaking his head and turning his head away, there's no way Andrew's eyes turned grey... His mind must just be playing a trick on him.

Chapter 26: Origins of the Death Glare.

It was as if the universe was against Andrew's plan as the teacher who was first to arrive was of course Snape. There was the usual accusation, denial, thrashing of the Potter parents and a rebuttal that landed Andrew in detention for a week and a loss of 50 points from Gryffindor.

Quickly, the two students were shipped off to the Hospital Wing and were the next in line for the treatment. Apparently, according to Dumbledore; Hagrid was almost done acquiring the Flesh Eating Slug Repellent for the victims.

Andrew was seething once they had reached the common room. He turned to face the others.

"You lot are going to go down to Hagrid's tonight and figure out anything and everything about the night he was falsely accused that night." Andrew told them. "I doubt Snape is going to want to see my pretty face every night so he's probably going to pawn me off to Filch, I'll try getting some info out of the bitter bastard.."

"What do you expect us to say once we're at Hagrid's? 'Oh, hello Hagrid, lovely night isn't it? Oh by the way, the beast you had in the school 50 years ago, are you sure it didn't kill anyone?'" Ron asked in a mocking tone.

"Ron's right Andy, we can't just question Hagrid about this without any idea of what's happening." Hermione said calmly.

"Especially on the night of an attack. You know they're going to be guarding not only the common rooms, but the grounds as well. Hagrid's probably not even home; if Flesh Eating Slug Repellent was easy to come by they wouldn't send out a big guy like Hagrid." Harry chimed in.

"Well then what brilliant ideas do you three have?!" Andrew yelled, gaining the attention from the other students.

"Okay... let's all just calm down." Harry suggested attempting to calm his brother down.

They were all silent for a second before Professor McGonagall entered the room and cleared her throat to get the attention of the students.

"Good Evening, I hope you are all studying hard and are trying your best in your classes. I have come to give you all an announcement. In light of the latest attacks on two students this evening, we have been instructed to inform you that after the exams, the school will be temporarily closed. You will all be boarding the train back to King Cross once you have completed. Your parents and Guardians have already been informed of this and will be at the station on the day."

There was a deafening silence in the room, nobody being able to come to terms with what was being said.

"I am truly sorry that it has come to this, but... unfortunately it just isn't safe enough for normal school days to commence. I will give you all a moment to collect your thoughts. You are more than welcome to come to my office tomorrow after classes have concluded to talk about... well anything really." There was a softness to her tone, which just hammered the point home for most of the Gryffindors. This could be it, the underwhelming conclusion of Hogwarts.

Once the elderly witch left the room, there was instantly a buzz as the students started murmuring among themselves.

Andrew turned back to the others, his face in a much calmer manner than it had been before.

"So we know the situation... are we honestly just going to sit around and let the school get closed?" he asked them seriously.

"Andrew, we're second years! What do you expect us to do?!" Ron whisper yelled.

"The school will only be closed for a little bit, then they'll find whatever it was petrifying everyone and sort it out, we'll be back before we know it." Hermione chimed in nodding to what Ron had been saying.

Andrew then turned to his brother who was silent. "And how long will that take? A month? Six months? A year?! A year at the Dursley's? Does that really sound like something you want to experience? Harry we took on Voldemort last year! And lived to tell the story! We can do this!"

Harry turned to his brother. "And if we can't? Where would we even start?" he asked quietly.

"Harry, we're the Potters... when have we ever failed? We've made mistakes and our plans usually always get derailed but we've never failed. Look exams are in a month... which is odd seeing as though this should take priority, cause, you know... people could die. But that's neither here nor there, we have a month, gather as much information you can from Hagrid tomorrow, I'll go to Snape, and like I said, maybe he'll pass me off to Filch and I'll get as much information out of him that I can, then we compile everything and meet up in the Library in a week."

Harry looked at Andrew and smiled slightly. "We've never really been able to follow instructions very well have we?"

"Nope, but that's what makes it fun."

Harry nodded and turned to Ron and Hermione before telling them that he was going through with the plan and that he believed that this would be what they needed to do. After some debating he managed to convince Ron and Hermione to accompany him to Hagrid's hut the next night.

Five o'clock the following afternoon saw Andrew headed towards Snape's quarters in order to serve out his detention, but as he suspected, Snape had pawned him off to Filch who was currently in the trophy room. He was then instructed to polish all the trophies in the room... there were at least 70 of the things.

Heaving a calming sigh he made his way over to a display and opened it, pulling out the small golden prize he read the inscription. "1945 - Hert Gerber: Award for most pudding eaten in one sitting." This was shaping up to be a very long punishment.

"Most pudding eaten in one sitting?" Andrew asked out loud. He jumped almost a meter in the air when he heard Filch respond to him.

"Stupid bastard... he ate forty pieces of chocolate cake after a Quidditch match... guess who had to clean his mess in the hallway!"

"Jesus help me..." Andrew muttered as he continued to shine the trophy in his hands and he wandered how Harry and the others were doing.

"Not too bloody well I can promise you that!" Harry replied mentally as he stood uncomfortably under his invisibility cloak along with Hermione and Ron.

He turned back to the scene in front of him. "I'm sorry Hagrid, truly I am but... The Ministry must be seen doing something." Minister Fudge said in a lazy tone.

"But I didn't do it, it wasn't me!" the friendly giant insisted. "And what do ye mean 'must be seen doing something'?!"

The Minister simply sighed, which was apparently enough for Hagrid to know exactly what he meant. "What?! Azkaban?! No, no!"

"I'm sorry, Hagrid but-" Fudge was interrupted when the door swung open and Dumbledore walked into the room.

"Professor Dumbledore sir! I didn't do it, I swear on me life!" Hagrid pleaded.

"Yes Hagrid, I am well aware of your innocence." the Headmaster said soothingly.

"Ah, Dumbledore, messy business, messy business all of this, the public is getting restless. We must been seen doing something, Dumbledore."

"Good evening, Horace. While I do agree that something must be done I do not believe sending an innocent man off to prison is the right way to go about it." Dumbledore said in a soft tone.

The three preteens could see the resolve waver in the Minister's eyes that is until the door swung open once again to reveal a head of almost blinding white hair.

"Malfoy Sr just walked in!" Harry told Andrew mentally.

"The hell?! Why?"

"Not sure, hold on, I'll tell you everything later, have to pay attention here."

Harry turned his attention back to the conversation happening in front of him.

"Ah, Minister, I see you're already here, I sent out an owl to request your presence at the school, oh well. Oh, good evening Headmaster." the silver haired man greeted smoothly.

"Mr Malfoy." Dumbledore greeted back.

"You... what are you doing here?! Get out of my house!" Hagrid said, all the kindness in his voice from before had been completely replaced with anger.

"Oh trust me... I find no joy in having to intrude in your... you call this a house?" Malfoy said, muttering the last bit of his statement. "Yes, well, Minister I trust you are here to escort this... man off to Azkaban. The board has been in an uproar about nothing being done while our children are being attacked. The Ministry must been seen doing something." he told the man echoing his own words to him.

"Yes, yes, you are right Lucius. I'm sorry, Hagrid but until these attacks are stopped you are our main suspect." The Minister said with a small puff of a sigh.

Two Ministry officials entered the room and made a move to the large man who looked to be considering to run until he just sagged slightly.

"Alright, well ahem, if you believe that's what should be done Minister. But before I go with you, I'd just like to say, if anyone were to be looking for some answers, then I'd just like to tell them that they should just follow the spiders! That's all just do that and all will be answered." he said loudly before nodding to Dumbledore followed the Ministry workers out of the hut.

Harry heard their footsteps getting softer as they walked away from the hut before turning back to the three left in the house.

"Well, I'd better head off to the office, lots of paper work to be done. Good night, Dumbledore, Lucius."

"Good evening Minister."

"Good night."

Once the Minister left Dumbledore turned to Malfoy and gave him a look which seemed to wipe the smug look off the man and made him look like a naughty school boy.

"Can I help you, Mr Malfoy?" Dumbledore asked, peeking at the man over his moon shaped spectacles.

"Ahem, yes well. I am truly sorry that I am the one to have to give you this news Dumbledore but it seems as though your position as Headmaster has been revoked and you are to leave the grounds effective immediately."

"Hmm, is that so, well, what do the other board members say to this... ejection?" Dumbledore asked with a raise of his brow.

"Ah yes, of course." He reached into his coat pocket and produced a parchment with a few signatures on it. "As you can see here, every member of the board can be found and they have agreed to have you on a... temporary leave. At least until the mystery of these attacks has been solved."

"Hmm, curious." Dumbledore said softly before a shadow of a smile appeared on his face. "Usually if a Headmaster is asked to step down from his position he is called in for a meeting with the members of the board. It is quite odd that I did not receive a summons."

"Yes well... This is an odd development. Students being petrified, well, it's quite the accomplishment that no one has died." the smug bastard said with a slight chuckle.

"Yes, I do suppose it is a miracle. Well if it is the board's decision to have me removed-"

"It is."

"Then I believe I should be on my way, but I would just like to say; that help will always be given to those who ask for it." Dumbledore said with a knowing look at the hidden preteens.

A few seconds passed before the Headmaster turned and headed for the door followed closely by Malfoy, he stopped and looked back into the hut. "I do suspect Fang will need someone to feed him. I will ask Minerva to find a suitable candidate."

The door was then shut when the two adults left the room.

"What just happened?" Ron asked once they shed the invisibility cloak.

"Professor Dumbledore was... they... Hagrid... he..."

"Hermione?" Harry asked stepping towards the girl slowly.

"They... what the hell are they thinking?!" Hermione suddenly yelled making the two boys jump in surprise. "With him gone the petrifications will triple, and they might even get lucky and someone could end up..." she stopped herself; not wanting to finish the thought.

"It's true, there's nothing holding them back now. If we're going to do something about this, we can't wait until the end of the week." Ron chimed in turning to Harry and looking at him seriously.

"Right, well then we'd better get to work. Remember what Hagrid said." Harry said with a nod.

"Follow the spiders." Hermione recited.

"What spiders though?" Ron asked in a slightly high tone.

"There, on the window sill... there's a whole line of them. Their going outside... come on." Harry said as he picked up a large lantern and left the house to look for the spider trail.

Hermione followed soon after followed very closely by Ron. "Bloody spiders..." the red head whispered.

"Where are you...?" Harry muttered.

"There! They're going into the Forbidden Forrest." Hermione pointed out.

"Oh! Of course they are!" Ron said sarcastically.

Ignoring the red head Harry turned to the dark forest and started towards it. "Let's go, sooner we figure out what Hagrid wants us to find, the sooner we can leave and go to the common room and let Andy know."

Andrew could feel his soul slowly being eaten away... well while this was mind numbingly boring at least Filch stopped speaking about the previous... "punishments" that past students were subjected to. Why would you hang a child by their thumbs?! Where was the logic in that? Bloody backwards bastards.

He had just put another trophy back and picked up another when he caught sight of the name and the award.

"Tom M Riddle... Services to the school..." he muttered in confusion.

"Hmm? Oh! Tom Riddle, now he was a good boy! Saved the school from that giant oaf's beast! But not before it managed to kill a girl." Filch commented loudly, drawing Andrew's attention.

"Wait. You knew Tom Riddle? And you know about the beast?"

"Of course I do! I might not look it, but I've been guarding these corridors for as long as Professor McGonagall has been a teacher!" he proclaimed proudly.

Andrew didn't have neither the time nor the patience to explain to the man why that wasn't something he should be proud of but rather something he should never share... with anyone, so he decided to simply move on.

"What was he like? Tom Riddle."

"Hmm, well, he was a smart boy, always top of the year whenever I saw the student marks on a teachers desk. He had quite a few friends in multiple houses despite being from Slytherin. Also, if I remember correctly he was rather close with the Headmaster." Filch finished.

Andrew made sure to store that last little detail before moving on. "And the beast, what happened to it?"

"If I remember right, Professor Dumbledore had the beast destroyed. After they found the dead girl, Tom Riddle came forward and confessed to knowing who it was responsible for the death. And soon Hagrid was found and expelled from the school while Dumbledore had his little monster killed."

"Okay... you keep bringing up a girl who died, who was it?" Andrew asked with a frown.

"Ah... hmm... Mary? Mariette? Margret? No, no, no... her name was Myrtle! Can't say I know her last name though. Anyway after Tom had turned Hagrid in he was awarded that special award for services to the school. Now then finish that trophy and I'll let you go." he said with a small stretch, prompting a look of suspicion Andrew.

"Don't worry I won't tell Snape, besides Mrs Norris is getting bored simply sitting in this room. Aren't you my darling?" he asked his feline who responded with a sorrowful meow. To Andrew sounded like she had a stroke but he figured it was Filch's cat and if it were serious he'd do something.

He learnt quite a bit, but there were still a lot of questions yet to be answered. He had to go to the room and find out more about the girl who died. Also he had to find out what the devil this beast was that was petrifying everyone.

"Harry, how're things going with Hagrid?"

"Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit!"

"... I'll take that as... not too good. I'll check in later."

Finally finishing with his task Andrew basically sprinted to his little hidden domain and rushed into the room. Unfortunately his little buddy wasn't in there tonight. He stared at the empty room for a moment before shaking his head. He had the week, it could be found during the week.

He turned and left the room and found himself wandering the hallways aimlessly before he caught himself right outside the Hospital Wing. He sighed softly and walked into the room which had a few people lined up in the beds all in different positions; frozen stiff.

He walked along the beds and stopped in front of Penelope's bed. He moved closer and sat on the chair beside the bed. He took her cold hand in his and stared at her pretty face frozen in constant fear. He rubbed her hand a little more before leaning close to her ear.

"I'm not sure if you can hear me but I promise you, I will find whatever did this to you and kill it. Nobody fuck's with my friends." he whispered softly before pulling away and caught someone staring at him. He stared back in confusion before a grin spread on to his face.

"Well, well, well... Pompous Percy! What may I ask are you doing here?" Andrew questioned, his voice filled with humor.

Percy scowled at the nickname the Potter had picked out for him. "I came here to visit my girlfriend, Potter."

"Girlfriend?" Andrew asked with a small tilt of his head before he looked down at the girl he was sitting by. "No... not a chance in hell! You! You're the secret boyfriend she wouldn't tell me about?! Well, she was right, I am going to be taking the piss out of this for years!" the dark skinned boy said with a laugh.

"Potter please, I would just like to have a few moments with Penny!" Percy requested stiffly.

Not arguing the second year stood up and nodded his head to Percy, all while his grin was still in place. He started walking away until he stopped and faced Percy. "I told her this but I'll tell you the same; whatever did this to her... once I figure it out, I'll have it's head."

He turned to walk away again until he stopped for a second time. "By the way, hurt her in anyway and I'll do the same to you. Nobody fucks with my friends."

The third eldest Weasley stared at the younger boy in shock before nodding his head slightly. It wasn't what Andrew had said, but rather how he said it that surprised the red head. His usual jolly tone was completely replaced with a tone that said he meant what he said. Every word. He honestly believed that he was going to get justice for his... friends.

Andrew moved over to the next two people in his life he cared about; Tonks and Su. Starting with Su Andrew sat down and looked at the tiny girls face and sighed. They were friends, well in his mind they were. But he couldn't help but notice how she seemed so... alone. He'd wanted to ask her about it so many times but he had no clue how to go about it. He couldn't exactly just ask her upfront whether she had friends or not. According to Harry stuff like that was considered rude and "confrontational" so he held his tongue.

He held the girl's hand and sighed, "You weren't meant to get caught up in this, but don't worry we're working on it. I'm going to fix this, I promise." Andrew said seriously. Standing Andrew then moved over to Tonks.

"Hey Nymmie... this is all my fault. I'm so sorry... I just, I'm sorr- what the hell?" he stopped speaking and grabbed her hand a little tighter, feeling something in the petrified sixth year's hand. A paper. Taking it out quickly he read the contents... "Holy mother of Christ!" he exclaimed.

"Mr Potter!" He heard from behind him, quickly the stuffing the paper into the breast pocket of his school shirt he turned to see Madam Pomfrey glaring at him.

"Oh... hullo Madam P. err... what can I do for you?" he asked trying to sound casual.

"Firstly, I thought I'd inform you that it is close to curfew, you as well Mr Weasley and secondly I wouldn't like to hear you using that kind of language again." she said with a small glare.

"Yes, Madam Pomfrey." Percy replied diligently which caused Andrew to roll his eyes at the other sixth year.

"Religious?"

"No, but I do understand that it is disrespectful to those who are." she replied with a small raise of her brow.

"Well, can't promise that I'll stop but hey, I'll try. Well I'd better head over to the common room before a less understanding Professor finds me, let's go double P." Andrew said with a small smile as he stood to leave. He stopped and turned back to Madam Promfrey. "Oh, also, you might want to have a bed or... four open... you know, just a gut feeling."

With that last comment Andrew and Percy left the Hospital Wing and made their way to the Gryffindor common in complete silence. Andrew knew it wouldn't last though.

"When did you become friendly with Penn- Penelope?" Percy asked.

"October."

"And, you're already that close?" Percy asked again, this time with a small amount of roughness in his voice.

"Listen Pompous..." ignoring the glare, Andrew continued. "I've let Penny into my life, I really don't care that you're dating her, I just want you to know, I don't trust easily, and I don't trust you... You give me a bad vibe. So about what I said earlier; I meant it, hurt her and you'll be hurting me... and trust me, I don't like being hurt."

Percy was quiet, once again surprised but the tone in the 12 year old's voice. "I understand." he responded, letting the conversation die.

"Andrew, girl's bathroom on the third floor, get there now!"

"Now, if you'll excuse me Weasley, I have a bathroom I have to make friends with. I'll see you in the common room when I'm done." Andrew said suddenly and turning off, he ignored Percy's calls and ran for the third floor.

HP-AP-HP-AP-HP-AP

Harry, Ron and Hermione were still shaking from their experience in the Forbidden Forrest along with their 'friendly' conversation with Aragog.

"Bloody spiders!" Ron muttered in a high pitched tone as the three Gryffindors made their way through the corridors.

"Well, we've at least learnt what we've known for a while now; Hagrid was innocent and was framed by someone." Hermione chimed in.

"I'll bet that that 'someone' is Tom Riddle." Harry added while in deep thought.

They continued along the way not saying much until they heard voices coming from the corridor on their left. They acted quickly and all go back under Harry's invisibility cloak.

"This is getting out of hand Albus. We must shut down the school." McGonagall said in a strained voice.

"I find that I must agree with Minerva, Albus. Keeping the school open from this point on-wards could be... catastrophic." Snape said in his usual monotonous drawl.

"Yes, I do suppose you are correct. We must alert the parents of the students of the situation. Also Professor McGonagall, if you would be as kind as to alert the parents of this student." Dumbledore said in a grave manner.

"Yes, of course Albus."

Just then a blond haired ponce turned the corner almost slamming directly into Harry and his friends before landing right in front of the teachers.

"Ah, yes I apologize for my lateness, so what I miss?!" Lockhart asked with a know it all grin.

"Ah, Gilderoy. It would seem as though a student was taken in the chamber." Flickwick told the Defense teacher.

"Oh! How unfortunate, if only I had been there! I would've taught that beast what-fore."

There was a beat of silence as the Professors simply stared at the man before turning to look at each other.

"Well, this is quite convenient isn't it, Gilderoy?" McGonagall asked with a small smirk.

"Oh? How so?" he asked with a small frown.

"Weren't you just saying last week that you knew exactly where the entrance to chamber was the whole time and that you were simply waiting for the perfect time to strike was? Now is the perfect time." the Scottish woman responded in a tone that left no room for negotiations.

"Yes, I do remember you saying that Mr Lockhart. Well then I believe we should leave you to get prepared." Dumbledore said peeking at the man over his half spectacles.

"But... what about you Headmaster, you might be a more suitable choice for this task, seeing as how you are the Headmaster of the school." Gilderoy said, trying to weasel his way out of the deed.

"Ah, unfortunately the board sees fit to remove me from that position, so at this moment I am but a civilian, you on the other hand are a member of the staff who has faced perils that overshadow this, am I right?" Dumbledore replied smoothly.

"Right, well... I'd better go to my office to err... prepare. For the battle that is." The blond peacock responded looking paler than a Hogwarts ghost.

Once the teachers started separating to tell the students the news Professor Vector stopped Professor McGonagall and asked her which student had been taken.

"Oh, poor Miss Ginevra Weasley." she responded in a hurt tone.

Harry and co. stood frozen in shock and disbelief at the news they had just heard.

"Holy shit, it got Ginny!"

Yelping in surprise they turned to see Andrew standing directly behind them. It didn't seem as though he could see them.

"Andrew..."

"Fucking... hell... Harry. You scared the crap out of me. Where are Ron and Hermione?"

"We're here." Hermione responded.

They pulled the cloak off and looked at Andrew who frowned at them.

"What happened to you lot?" he asked.

"Well..." Hermoine went into a brief story, telling Andrew about the arrest of Hagrid, suspension of Dumbledore and the bloody spiders.

"Christ..." Andrew muttered in shock. "All that happened in the span of an hour?"

"What about you? What you find out?" Harry asked.

"Tom Riddle was top of his class while he was here at the school. A Slytherin who made friends outside of his house. And the icing on the cake, he was the one who found Hagrid with his... err Aragog but not before a girl was murdered and he received a special award for services to the school." Andrew said to them. "Also, I think I know what the beast is; a Basilisk."

"Basilisk?" Harry and Ron asked with mirroring frowns while Hermione's eyes widened in fear.

"You- you mean the mystical snake that has a literal death glare." Hermione asked fearfully.

"Death glare?"

"The term has been used for years but nobody knew why, then I found a book in the library about how the phrase actually started somewhere in the 1500s when magic was still very public and the beasts known as Basilisks were everywhere. They were these giant snakes that hunted their prey by staring them in the eye. The glare from a Basilisk would kill anything that look at it." Hermione provided sullenly. "But it's been years... centuries since the last Basilisk sighting, they were believed to be extinct, killed by a pair of powerful wizards." she said looking at Andrew.

"True, but what else could it be?"

"But nobody's died." Harry said before he had a realization. "Because nobody stared it directly in the eye. Mrs Norris and Penelope saw it's reflection in the water those nights. Colin had his camera and Tonks and Su Li had a mirror to look around with. Nobody made direct eye contact with it."

"Well... that's quite convenient..." Andrew muttered with a raised brow.

"But it doesn't change the fact that this Basilisk got Ginny." Harry added ignoring Andrew's comment. "Also how has it been moving around?"

"We'll figure that out when he get there, for now, we have to save Ginny." Ron said with a serious face.

"Right, so next order of business. I heard the girl who got killed was named Myrtle from Filch, from there we can work backwards and... what's with the look on your face?" Andrew asked Hermione.

"Myrtle... I think I know who he was talking about." she said with a tired sigh.

Finally finished! Not a cliffy thankfully but still not a conclusion. Next chapter is the penultimate chapter; it's going to mostly be backstory on one of the most irritating/entertaining (depending on your tastes) characters in the Universe.

I thought about including Dobby in the chapter but honestly, I didn't because he just wouldn't have fit into the chapters all to well. Now I've made this point before but I'm from South Africa so I'm not too sure about the school terms you guys have.

In South Africa the school terms are as follows (usually):

10th January – 31 March

18 April – 30 June

24 July – 29 September

9 October – 8 December

This is what I know! I have no idea about the UK and USA so I'm sorry if the time line seems so... unpredictable. That is also why I cut the Quidditch section and the whole 'Mudblood' section and moved it to the beginning. The petrifications started a hell of a lot earlier so that we could reach the conclusion sooner. But just so you all know, it is after the Christmas holidays so don't worry this isn't all happening in a week or a month.

Thank you for reading all!

Peace, Love, Respect

Zak
