Hello Everyone!

So sorry about the delay. It was my birthday yesterday so I decided I would enjoy it! But like the obedient slave that I am, here is the next chapter of the story! Please enjoy it.

Last Time on Black and White:

"Oh well, that's err... Well, um you guys, passed out, and there wasn't anyone screaming." Hermione responded watching the two boys closley.

"Impossible, there was definitely screaming." Andrew said looking at the other two.

"Nah, mate, no screaming. Just those two things and then you two, you know... fainting." Ron responded.

They fell into a lull of silence as they listened to the train run over the tracks towards the castle, but for some reason unlike the previous two years; instead of the sound making the two Potters excited for the prospects of the upcoming year, it did nothing but fill them with an undeniable sensation of dread as they knew that this would not be the final time they would deal with these creatures.

Book 3 Chapter 4: The ABC's of Dark Creatures!

The train pulled into the station and the boys and their friends made their way to the carriages which made it's way to the castle. The whole while they refused to discuss what had happened on the train. Making it to Hogwarts the four Gryffindors followed the rest of their year into Great Hall and took their seats while waiting for the first years to be lead into the castle and sorted. The students started chatting with one another. Greetings and questions of the holidays being passed to one another.

"Potter, hey, Potter!"

The two boys turned behind them and noticed Malfoy staring at them. "Is it true?" he asked his voice cracking from either puberty or his restraint laughter.

"Is what true?" Harry asked irritably.

"Did you two really faint? Like actually faint?" he asked as he started laughing, which just caused the rest of the Slytherins to laugh along with him.

"Dude we've been here all of ten minutes and you already want to start shit with us? Was your summer truly that uneventful?" Andrew asked with a raised brow.

"Oh my summer was quite enjoyable, but that is in the past while your fainting story is quite fresh." he said throwing a jab back at Andrew. A boy to the left of Draco raised the back of his hand to his forehead and dramatically swooned as he portrayed the boys fainting.

Hermione shot the roaring Slytherins a scathing look as she turned Andrew and Harry away from them. "Just ignore them." she said with a slight shake of her head.

"How did he find out?" Andrew asked.

He didn't get his answer as the first years entered at that moment and the sorting began. Once everyone was in their respective houses Dumbledore took the time to make a few announcements; much to the agony of Ron, who was starving.

"... I would also like to take the time to announce two new additions to the Hogwarts staff, first and foremost I would like to introduce the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor; Professor R.J Lupin!" The announcement was met with applause from most of the houses. The graying man stood and gave a small bow to the clapping.

Harry and co. immediately recognized the man and shared a look of understanding between themselves.

"Yes, we are all very excited to have you on board Professor. Also, seeing as how Professor Grubby Plank has requested to resign, so that he may, as he puts it 'Live the rest of his life peacefully with his remaining limbs.' please help me in introducing the new Care of Magical Creature's Professor; Hagrid!"

This news was met with loud applause and cheer from the students who knew and loved Hagrid, so most of the Gryffindors along with the Hufflepuffs and some Ravenclaws, Slytherin house looked absolutely disgusted at the information.

Dumbledore continued with the regular rules of the school before allowing the students to eat.

"Finally." Was all Ron said before he began stuffing his face.

Waking up in their four poster beds was probably one of the things the boys missed most about the school, well that and the magic of course. Rolling themselves out of the covers they decided to go get ready for the day; it was currently Tuesday which meant they had classes.

They made their way down to the Great Hall to see most of the other houses already sat and eating. They took a seat next to Seamus and Dean who were surprisingly up before the two brothers. After exchanging some pleasantries they began filling their plates with food. After Ron and Hermione arrive Professor McGonagall arrived to hand them their schedules for the year.

The four friends instantly started comparing, Ron and Harry found themselves taking the exact same electives. "Typical." Andrew and Hermione muttered while shaking their heads.

"What about you?" the dark skinned boy asked his female friend.

"Oh... err..." Hermione stammered slightly.

"Holy shit."

"Language."

"You took all of the electives?! How the hell are you going to manage that? Most of these are in the same period." Andrew asked his face in complete confusion.

"I've made arrangements with Professor McGonagall." she answered defensively.

"Hermione you've got Muggle Studies here." Andrew said with a straight face.

"Yes, and?"

"You're a damned Muggle Born! You know all about that!"

"Well, I'm curious to know what the lessons are like." she said heatedly.

Andrew sighed and raised his palms in defeat. "Fine, but the moment it starts getting too much you'll drop some things right?"

Hermione didn't answer and Andrew nudged her slightly. "Hey, promise me, okay?"

"Alright, I promise." she relented.

"We're going to make this official; Pinky promise." Andrew said not breaking eye contact.

The bushy haired girl blinked a few times before Andrew spoke again.

"I take my pinky promises very seriously."

Hermione gave him a look of disbelief before she gave a single chuckle. "Fine, pinky promise."

"Good."

Classes started and the four friends found their first class to be DADA with Lupin. Making their way towards the classroom they all took their seats and found themselves sharing it with the Slytherins... again.

Andrew made eye contact with his secret buddy and gave them a small smile to which they ignored before he turned and made eye contact again; this time with Blaise Zabini, the guy he was friends with but had left him for his more brooding buddies. As a joke he sighed dramatically and waved sadly at the boy, to which Blaise responded by regarding him blankly. Expecting this, Andrew once again sighed sadly before turning to the front of the classroom. Unseen to the dread lock having boy, Blaise gave a small smile at his stupid antics and shook his head slightly.

After a little bit, Professor Lupin entered the room and moved to stand in front of the class, he didn't say anything but rather regarded them all with a blank stare before suddenly clapping his hands together and giving the students a bit of a shock.

"Alright, everyone, pack your bags and follow me." he said just before he started moving towards the classroom door.

Everyone glanced at one another before they did what they were told and followed the teacher.

He lead through some halls of the castle and entered a door which lead to an empty classroom. Once everyone had filed in he turned to address them again.

"So last night, in my insomnia fueled trek of the school I came across a few secrets, one of them being this classroom, which holds something I thought would be a fun way to introduce you all to the darker side of magical creatures.

As he finished the inconspicuous wardrobe at the other end of the room started rattling. When the hell did that get there? The rattling became slightly more violent, as if the thing inside knew people were there.

"Now, can anyone tell me, what is in that wardrobe?" Lupin asked pulling the attention away from the creature.

"That's a boggart." Dean Thomas said with certainty.

"Yes, good work, now can anyone tell me, what a boggart looks like?"

"Nobody knows. The boggart takes on the form of whatever frightens someone most." Hermione answered before shuddering at the rattling.

"Correct. Now; Neville if you would step forward."

The nervous boy looked around before following the instruction. The DADA professor then proceeded to ask Neville what his fear was, when the boy told him he then turned to the class and informed the that the best way to defeat a boggart was laughter. He taught them the incantation; "Ridikulous" which he made the class repeat a number times before turning back to Neville and helping him with his fear.

When Neville came face to face with an absolutely livid looking Snape, he quickly used the spell and anyone who ever wanted to see their potions professor in drag was pleasantly surprised when that was the outcome. Of course, nobody did.

Before anyone could blink a line was formed and the students took turns revealing their fears before turning them into hilarious parodies of themselves. Ron went first with his fear of Spiders which he made tap dance a ridiculous jig while one of its many legs proceeded to remove and place a miniture top hat upon its head.

Next up was Blaise Zabini he stepped forward and the boggart froze for a second before it began shifting constantly, no one was sure where it would land until it finally found a form. Safe to say most of the muggleborns and Half-borns were not surprised by the reveal while the Purebloods all gasped in horror.

There stood the most sadistic and evil looking clown anyone had ever seen.

"Holy mother of Christ..." Harry muttered as he stared at the offensive looking creature while Andrew whistled in shock.

Blaise pointed his wand at it and spoke the spell but nothing happened, the boggart's eyes widened before it smiled darkly, the clown took a few steps towards the boy and spoke.

"Your soul is mine, Zabini!" Once again the clown froze and so did the students.

There was a beat of silence before the students started laughing.

"Damn you all!" it screamed angrily.

The laughter became harder as some of the students had tears in their eyes at this point.

Blaise had altered it's voice and now it sounded as if an angry toddler was screaming at them, mixed with the horrifying makeup, the students laughed mainly out of shock and a weird sense of fear rather than the hilarity of the situation.

Once everyone had their fill of laughter Blaise moved to the side to allow another student to give it a go. The next student just so happened to be Harry who stepped forward and watched as the boggart began shifting and changing; as that happened the dark haired boy started wandering what his fear was – Voldemort? Nah, he'd faced the man twice already and come out on top... so what could it be...?

He suddenly remembered his experience with the Dementors on the train and a very cold shiver went down his spine. That was when the boggart finally stopped shifting and a damned Dementor tore its way towards Harry all the while letting loose a horrific screech.

"Jesus!" the raven haired yelled while jumping backwards.

That was when the Professor jumped in front of him and the entire classed watched as the dementor shifted once more before a scene of a full moon showed itself.

"Ridikulous!" he shouted and the moon shifted into a balloon that shot around the classroom before returning to the cupboard it emerged from before the door closed shut.

"Right, well, I think that will be all for today, so if everyone could head back to the classroom and collect your bags." At his announcement Lupin was met with dejected moans and groans from the students.

Andrew stood behind his brother as he watched the cupboard shake once more. He was disappointed about the fact that he couldn't face his own fear. Which made him wonder, what was his fear? His thoughts traveled the same route his brother had; Voldemort was no where on his worry factor, while the dementors... while they did make him feel outrageously uncomfortable, he was more than certain that they weren't his fear. So what the hell was it?

"Andy, you coming?" he turned to see that most of the class had already left and he had been staring at the cupboard the entire time.

"Yeah, sorry just thinking." he said turning and headed towards the door towards his friends.

The first day of school was turning out to be quite the interesting day... sort of. They had charms next with a couple of people from other houses seeing as how the schedules caused the houses to become more diversified in their classes.

Andrew was currently sat with his head on his table with an empty table on his left and his brother to his right while Ron took the seat on the other end of him. He mindlessly listened to Flitwick explain the Argumenti charm, which Andrew and Harry had already learned the year before. He scanned the class room and saw some familiar faces, such as; the girls he and Harry had accidentally tortured through the tickling charm, Susan Bones and Hannah Abbot, Blaise Zabini, Dean and Seamus and a few others he was too lazy to think about.

He made eye contact with a few people but otherwise stayed quiet.

"Would anyone like to tell me what the wand movement for the Argumenti Charm is?"

Andrew had started blocking out all the noises around him when he heard the Professor speak again. "Yes, Miss Granger?"

"A half counter clock wise motion followed by a thrust forward, sir." Hermione responded.

Andrew's head snapped up and there on his left sat Hermione Jean Granger... except... she wasn't there a few moments ago, and while he had not been much attention to the things happening around him, he doubted he would have missed her putting her bag down and dragging out her chair out to sit down... As a matter of fact wasn't Muggle Studies in session right now?

He was about to speak before Ron beat him to it. "When the hell did you get here?" he whispered furiously.

"What he asked..." Andrew said agreeing with the question.

"What are you on about? I've been here the whole time." she answered with a small laugh.

Andrew shot her a blank look. "Really? That's what you're going with? Trying to convince the guy with the best memory that he doesn't remember you being here?"

"Shhh!" she shot back, choosing not to respond.

"Hermione..." Andrew said. "Hermione!"

"You know, you're either going to tell me what's going on or I'm gonna figure it out. We both know there's only one way this ends and that's with me finding the truth out." Andrew stated before turning to the front and resting his head back on the table.

Hermione shot the boy a glance and smiled slightly before turning back to the lesson going on.

When the bell rang everyone had started leaving, but Andrew and Harry were pulled aside by the Professor and told when their next private lesson will be.

As the two headed towards the Great Hall for lunch, Andrew noticed a suit of Armor wielding a sword and spared a quick glance around the area. Curiously Harry stopped and watched his brother. Andrew took a small breath. "Flipsy!" he called out.

"Yes, master Andew sir?" asked a small creature with large eyes.

"Take this and add it to the... surprise." he said conspiratorially.

With a look of understanding the house elf gave an all knowing nod before taking the sword from the suit of Armor and popped away to a place only it and apparently Andrew knew.

"Do I want to know?" Harry asked with a sigh.

"I don't know, do you?" Andrew retorted.

"... shit, you've got me. I'm not sure." Harry answered honestly.

Andrew chuckled and patted Harry's back as he walked past him.

The rest of the day passed relatively bleakly for the four Gryffindor's as they suddenly found themselves in Gryffindor tower awaiting supper. Andrew and Hermione had finished their homework and were currently reading when Andrew suddenly sat up.

Hermione turned to Andrew and frowned followed by Ron, Harry on the other hand knew that face and simply sighed.

"I'll be missing for a couple hours, don't look for me I'm going to be busy." he said as he left the common room in a rush.

"Wait Andr- and he's gone." Hermione sighed and sat back down.

"Yeah, he does that." Harry responded in a tired tone.

"But-"

"Trust me, I barely understand what he's thinking half the time, but it usually pays off... sometimes."

"Probably something really messed up." Ron commented as he stared at dejectedly at his homework.

Harry opened his mouth to argue but somehow found himself unable to defend his brother, if anything what Ron said was really, really relative.

'Oh screw you!' Harry heard in his mind before smiling to himself.

Walking into the room he dubbed his private room Andrew instantly walked to the book shelf located in the back of the room his mind focused on one thing. When he discovered this room the previous year he read about a wizarding urban legend, well it was probably a moment that happened in time seeing how magic is involved.

"Potter?"

Andrew stopped his search and turned to look at his roommate. "Oh shit, hi! How are you? Good, glad to hear it." he turned and began searching once again.

"What are you looking for?"

"A book."

"No shit... what book." they asked with a frown.

"There was a book about urban legends I'd read and I need it for... reasons." Andrew responded.

"Okay, which legend were you thinking about?"

Andrew turned to his friend and simply shot them a smile.

The next morning saw the Gryffindor four sitting in the Great Hall for breakfast, each one silently munching on their food.

"What class do we have today?" Ron asked with his mouth full of bacon.

"Don't do that." Andrew said simply.

"What?"

"He means don't talk with your mouth full, it's disgusting." Hermione said with a frown at the red head who glared at the back.

"No, after two years I've grown desensitized to that. I mean don't do it with bacon." the dark skinned boy responded with a raised brow.

"Anyway to answer your question; History, Potions, Transfiguration for a double then Care after lunch." Harry replied getting them back on topic.

Ron thanked Harry before going back to his food and Andrew turned to Hermione and the two started their own conversation while Harry looked down the table and saw one of his housemates reading the Daily Prophet. And the front page news was once more the Azkaban Escapee – Sirius Black.

He frowned and couldn't help but wander why he and Andrew had seen him in the Mirror of Erised. His mind constantly went to the man's face and name even as the group went off to Binn's class to sleep once more. There was something else bothering the teen; when he and Andrew had received their birthday gifts from their friends, Hagrid had sent Harry a picture album. One of the pictures was of Harry's parents at their wedding; Sirius Black was his father's best man. 'What happened to you?' Harry thought to himself as he wandered what had happened to make his father's best man wind up in prison.

The morning classes were relatively uneventful for the four friends; Droning from Binns, points deducted by Snape and strict surveillance from McGonagall. Though there was a moment in Transfiguration when Harry felt a high spike of emotions from his brother, which was weird seeing as how Andrew was usually great at keeping his emotions in check, if anything there were only three instances when Andrew's emotions spiked since the boys discovered they could sense each other, the first was the first night back, the second was when Andrew had taken that sword to... somewhere in the castle and the third was now. The more Harry thought about it, they were all the same sensation; excitement... about something. The raven head suddenly felt nervous. He shot his brother a look and was met with an innocent smile. Now Harry was very nervous.

After lunch the group made their way out to the field for Care of Magical Creature's with Hagrid. As they were discussing what their lessons would consist of they heard the unmistakable voice of Draco "Mouth off" Malfoy.

"This is a waste of time, honestly. What is that Muggle loving fool thinking, having this buffoon teach a group of students; my father will hear of this." he spoke in his usual pompous tone.

Before anyone in the group could speak Hagrid's voice boomed over the students.

"Alrigh' you lot. Take out yer books, you won't be needing yer quills, just yer books and follow me."

"Hmm, I see a theme happening this year." Andrew muttered as he pulled his living book from his bag and stared at the... thing with a suspicious look in his eye.

When the two Potters had been sent to Diagon Alley to stay for the rest of their summer they were sent their school supplies, compliments of the Minister of Magic. They had decided to take a look at their curriculum for the year and had decided to start with CoMC. The two boys knew, from the beginning that it was a bad idea, but they both too curious not to try, so ignoring the constant growling from book they pulled the belt holding the book shut open and good God above did they regret that decision as the began attempting to bite the boys arms off.

Andrew was brought out of his musings when their large friend spoke again.

"Now open yer books to page 23 and-"

"And how are we supposed to do that?" Malfoy asked skeptically.

"Just stroke the spine, o' course." Hagrid responded as if he had asked the dumbest question in existence.

After calming the beasts in their hands the students were lead to a clearing on the edge of the Forbidden Forrest, "Hippogriffs?" Hermione whispered in a confused voice.

"Now class are ye ready?" Hagrid asked in an excited manner before he stuck fingers in his mouth and blew a loud whistle.

In an instant a very large and imposing looking creature burst through trees covering the clearing and landed gracefully next to Hagrid. Everyone froze at the sight of the creature; the head and wings and talons of an eagle located in the front of the creature and the body of an extremely large lion... he was weird but oddly beautiful.

"Beautiful isn't he? This is Buckbeak." Hagrid introduced with a shit eating grin. "Now who would like to pet him?" he asked.

Everyone took a step back.

"Ah, Harry, good job!" Hagrid praised.

The raven haired boy looked around and saw he was the one in front. He looked to Andrew who simply shrugged.

"You're the one who usually charges in head first." Andrew thought to his brother to which Harry simply responded with a glare.

"Now, Hippogriffs are very proud creatures. So step up and give him a bow, if he bows back you can touch him, if not... well we'll talk about it later."

"That's reassuring." Andrew muttered as the tension rose.

Harry took a breath and stepped closer to Buckbeak before giving the creature a deep bow. The tension rose when the creature screeched at the boy dangerously. Andrew made a move to help his brother but he was stopped with a small tug, looking down at his hand he saw another hand holding his. Glancing upwards he saw Hermione gripping his hand tightly with a look of shock and fear on her face. She then seemed to realize what she was doing as she looked down at their hands and pulled hers away with an embarrassed expression, before she did the same with Ron on her left side. Andrew watched the two for a moment and shook his head slightly, it had nothing to do with him.

Turning back to the scene in front of him Andrew was actually surprised to see Harry petting the beast.

"Well, done Harry! Well done!" Hagrid cheered while clapping, the rest of the class started doing the same. "Now, I think he'd let you have a short ride." Hagrid said already lifting Harry into the air.

"I'm sorry?" Harry asked his eyes wide.

"Don't pull out any of his feathers, I reckon he won't thank ye fer that!" Hagrid said as... advice? Before he slapped Buckbeak's rear end causing the creature to take off into the air carrying Harry with him.

When the two had disappeared Andrew turned to Hermione. "Well, this is shaping out to be an interesting year so far."

Before Hermione could respond, Draco stepped towards the three Gryffindors.

"Looks like your leader's off to his death." the blond said with a grin, causing his cronies to chuckle behind him.

"Shut it, Malfoy." Ron said stepping closer to the boy.

"Or what Weasley?"

"Really? Seriously? You two are having a pissing contest instead of just enjoying this basically free period?" Andrew asked his brow raised.

"Shut it, Potter! I don't take being told what to do from ladies lightly." he said laughing as his friend once again feigned fainting.

"That got personal fast." Andrew said, legitimately shocked. "Listen here you little bleach headed shit." Andrew said in a low tone as he stepped closer to Draco. "I've just about had it with you, every year you feel the need to cause some or other shit with me and our friends, so for the rest of this year you are not going to say a single word to any of us. Understood?"

Draco sneered at the boy before looking slightly behind him and his eyes growing wide. "D-D-Dementors!" he yelled panicked.

Everyone turned to look for the disgusting monsters, well everyone except Andrew who simply narrowed his eyes at the boy. "You've been warned, Malfoy."

As he turned he noticed Buckbeak and Harry returning to the clearing.

"They're back!" he called out, catching Hagrid's attention.

Once they touched the ground, everyone cheered for Harry and his show of bravery. The lesson seemed to be a success, that is until Malfoy once again spoke.

"Oh please, you aren't dangerous at all are you, you great, ugly beast?!" he said as he swaggered over to Buckbeak, not following the necessary procedures.

Being a highly proud creature; Buckbeak screeched in offense as the boy continued to approach him disrespectfully. That was when Hagrid warned Malfoy to back away but of course the blond prick would not follow orders and was now met with a highly enraged creature.

Malfoy stared in fear as the beast rose onto it's hind legs, it's front legs being the talons of an eagle came swinging down on the blond ponce. Closing his eyes Malfoy felt himself hit the ground and a large amount of pain shoot through his arm. He started crying out in pain.

"It's killed me! The beast took my arm!" he yelled out as tears started running down his face.

"Oh shut it, ye great prude." Hagrid yelled over the boys whining.

Opening his eyes to evaluate the damage the beast had done, he was surprised to see a shocking lack of blood. He searched his arms but found no damage at all. Looking up, he saw that he was for some reason away from the beast and that it was Andrew who was covered in blood and gripping his arm tightly. Hagrid helped the boy up but he did not move.

"Andrew we have to get you to the hospital wing." Hermione said an arm around the boy's waist keeping him up.

"Wait." the boy said as he walked over to Buckbeak who looked at the boy with a cocked head. Andrew proceeded to bow deeply to the Hippogriff. Who seemed to regard Andrew for a moment before bowing back to the boy.

"Alright, let's go shall we? This is more painful than you'd think." he said gesturing to his arm.

As they left the clearing and Hagrid called the class to an end, Andrew was being watched by someone. Someone who smiled and made a mental note to visit the boy in the Hospital wing, before he was discharged. He knew getting to friendly terms with Potter would pay off eventually.

There we have it! I really hope you all enjoyed this chapter, it was really fun writing it!

Now before you all go off thinking I've left you with another cliff hanger, worry not - all is right in the world.

The next chapter is going to focus more on a character I've barely touched in the series so far and the chapter after that will focus on another character I've sort of left in the dark. But after that, we're right back into the meat of things!

Thank you for reading!

Peace, Love and Respect

Zak!
