Last Time on Black and White:

She howled again this time getting Lupin's attention.

"Oh..." Harry muttered.

"He's coming this way."

"Yeah, we should probably move!"

Book 3 – Chapter 15: This sucks.

The two teens ran off as Lupin tore towards them growling, snarling and blood thirsty. They ran as fast as they could through the dark, foreboding forest desperately trying to avoid the werewolf hot on their trail. Harry and Tonks could hear the pounding of heavy paws just behind them. The terrible sounds of the wolf's slobbering mouth and the blood chilling growls he emitted. The pair ran as fast as they could but soon found that to be futile since Lupin was gradually gaining ground.

"We're fucked!" Tonks said panting a bit.

Harry didn't respond, trying desperately to come up with some plan to get them out of their current scenario. All he was coming up with were blanks until he heard a distinctive screech. Turning quickly he saw Buckbeak swoop in just at the last minute and attack the Professor.

"Come on, we've got to keep moving. Buckbeak'll keep Lupin distracted and buy us some time." Tonks said as she grabbed Harry by the hand.

Harry spared one last look at the mighty Hippogriff before turning and running off with Tonks. They continued to follow past Harry until they arrived at the lake, they watched as the boys crawled towards Sirius. Then the cold kicked in.

"The dementors." Tonks said with a shudder. "We have to do something." she urged him.

Harry watched in horror as the swarm of dementors closed in on the only people on this earth he called family. He froze in fear, unable to do anything. Why couldn't we do anything?!

"Harry!" Tonks said desperately.

"I can't... I'm- I don't know what... Andy, Sirius... no... please..."

He felt a sharp pain against he cheek and blinked in surprise when he saw Tonks standing in front of him. Her hair was bright red, she had tears in her eyes and her bottom lip was trembling.

"You're there too!" she yelled at him angrily. "You really going to wait for something to save you? You're Harry Potter; the Boy-Who-Lived, the boy who always makes it out of the impossible situations, you- you are my closest friend! You have to do something!" she yelled as tears spilled from her eyes.

Harry stared at her for a moment, and immediately his mind was filled with images.

"Wotcher! I'm Tonks!"

"Oh I'm an metamorphmagus, meaning I can look like anyone I want to."

"You two have a tendency of getting yourselves in trouble!"

"I've got your back."

"Thanks for listening to me, Harry."

"Hey wanna go grab some random food and feed the Giant Squid?"

Harry blinked and rushed out ahead and raised his white-ash wood wand at the giant collection of soul sucking demons.

"Expo Patronum!" he yelled out, feeling the happiness swell from within him, every moment he spent with Tonks flooding his memories. In a moment the entire ground was filled with a bright warm light enveloping the entire area, effectively warding away the dementors.

The feeling of euphoria didn't leave his body as suddenly the warm light seemed to take a shape, he then felt a hand on his shoulder he turned slowly and came face to face with Tonks who still had her red hair, but was happy to see that it was slowly turning purple.

They continued looking into each others eyes until they were interrupted by a glow passing between them. They turned quickly and saw...

"Is that... a squid?" Harry asked with a frown.

"No... look, eight tentacles. No that's an octopus."

"That's so cool." Harry stated in awe as they watched the aquatic creature float through the air. The octopus itself was quite small, looking to be around 60cm long and having stripes along the tentacles.

He smiled and decided to try something.

Cautiously Harry reached out and took a hold of Tonks' hand. He felt her jump slightly at the sudden contact, but soon relaxed, they stayed in that position for a moment watching Harry's patronus float around them.

Suddenly Harry felt Tonks pull her hand away from him and clear her throat.

"Well, uh, well done. I knew you could do it. We should probably get going. We don't have much time." she said quickly before turning away from the lake and calling out for Buckbeak.

Harry had to admit, he didn't really feel great about what had just happened but put on a brave face and went along with her. It was time to help his Godfather after all.

Andrew watched as Liphon Gray stood over the bloodied body of his enemy. The battle was ruthless and unforgiving. Liphon was a small time business man having just started up his own Apothecary selling valuable potion ingredients to witches and wizards alike.

The enemy he stood over was a man who had demanded Gray's business only to be denied. In a cold act of revenge the man killed Liphon's family, sparing only a daughter claiming that once he had killed him he would sell her off to the villagers for a fun time. Liphon went off the wire and attacked the man. The duel took a lot out of both the men, but ended with Liphon being the victor.

Andrew, watched as the time jumped ahead to when Liphon returned to the generous family that had taken in his sweet daughter who was unfortunate enough to watch her mother's own murder. The Powell's were a wealthy family who had stumbled across the Gray family tragedy. They offered to watch his daughter as he went after the man responsible.

The scene ended when the two had a teary reunion while the Powell family watched on with smiles and relief.

"What, no wait, hold on what happens next?!" Andrew called out as everything back into the darkness he had started in.

"Liphon and Marius opened their business, his daughter safe if not a little suspicious."

"Suspicious? Why what happened?"

"Methods of olde, ways so perverse, the young lady suffered a horrible curse."

"A curse? What curse?"

"It has come time to part, but heed my words and take them to heart. Our stories do not define our souls, there will come a time, young master when you must save your own."

Andrew noticed the darkness go quiet and immediately start losing some consciousness.

"No wait! What's going on!"

"We will meet once more when you learn control, for there are many more stories, waiting to be told."

And in that moment Andrew felt himself fall.

Harry and Tonks found Buckbeak not too far away, cleaning what looked like blood off his claws.

"Oh poor, Professor Lupin." Harry said sincerely.

They mounted the impressive creature and flew off, they were silent as their way was illuminated by the bright moon, so bright it actually obscured most of the stars. They rode off in the direction of the castle.

"So..." Tonks asked as she held on to Harry's waist to prevent herself from falling off. "That was a powerful patronus. What were you thinking of?"

"Oh... err... well you know... I was thinking of... the day Andrew and I got our Hogwarts letters." Harry answered, immediately hating that response.

"Oh, well... yeah it definitely is a great moment for any young witch or wizard." Tonks replied with a small laugh.

Harry chose to nod his head and avoid saying anything else ridiculous.

"God, it's beautiful. The night, the stars, the moon... everything's just so..."

"Beautiful."

Tonks smiled softly and rested her head against Harry's back. "... Yeah. Hey it's okay you can relax." she added with a small chuckle.

The young third year couldn't help but tense up at the unexpected touch by a girl four years his senior, so yeah he tensed up a bit. Why was he suddenly so sweaty? Oh God he hoped his back wouldn't sweat... What is she felt it? Would she think he was gross? Oh God...

"Hey, the towers coming up." Tonks said pointing to the obviously tallest tower in all of Hogwarts.

"Right, let's get Sirius out." Harry said taking a calming breath.

They flew up to the tower and landed Buckbeak gracefully.

"Harry? Cousin?" Sirius called out as he approached the bars against his door.

"Step back!" Tonks called out. "Bombarda!" she cried as the locking mechanism on the door exploded along with the wall connected to it.

"Wow... wouldn't a Alohomora work?" Harry asked looking at the obliterated concrete on the ground.

"... does it matter?" she asked him with a raised brow.

"Sure as hell doesn't matter to me!" Sirius called out as he stepped out of his cell and made a bee-line for Harry giving him a big hug.

"You came back for me." he said happily.

"Of course I did." Harry replied just as happily.

"I am so proud of you."

Harry smiled at his Godfather and turned back to Buckbeak, "Come on, we've got a way out of here."

The three of them landed not too far from the door. They got off the majestic Hippogriff and faced one another before Sirius spoke.

"Listen, I want to thank you two. I know this couldn't have been easy. I appreciate you both so much and I'm sorry that bastard, Pettigrew couldn't pay for what he did."

"Don't worry about that." Harry said with a mischievous smile.

"What have you got planned?" Sirius asked with a smirk.

"Oh, just this." Harry said pulling something out from his pocket.

"Is that...?"

"When did you...?"

Harry smiled at their flabbergasted expressions.

"You really are you're father's son." Sirius said with a bark of laughter.

Before they could celebrate they heard the front door opening.

"We've got to hide!" Tonks said pushing them to a secluded area.

Harry lead Buckbeak with them and tried keeping him as quiet as possible. They heard mutterings as they passed.

"... Finally, caught Black... be hailed as the best Minister of the generation... can't wait for this to be over..."

Finally they heard the telltale cracking of apparation and Sirius and Tonks moved to check.

"You've got to get out of here." Tonks told her second cousin.

"Right... right okay. Hey, I'll see the two of you soon, yeah?" he told them with a shit eating grin.

"Oh take Beaky with you, they think he ran away so... he can't be back here." Harry told him.

"Oh right, much faster too." he added with a smile.

"Before you leave, think you could...?" Harry asked motioning to the rat.

"Hmm? Oh right!" Sirius cast the Animagus reviling charm and they watched as the rat transformed back into a pudgy man. "Eh, think I prefer him as the rat."

"I think we all do." Tonks said with a grimace.

"Stupify!" Harry said shooting the rat-man with another spell knowing he would be up soon, and they didn't need that.

"Harry, make sure, you think about what we spoke about before we were... you know interrupted."

"Definitely, I'll bring it up with Andrew."

Smiling, the ex-convict mounted the pale Hippogriff and flew off into the air, his cheering echoing in the cool night air.

The two teens watched with a small smiles before they heard the loud ringing of the bells announcing the arrival of midnight.

"We've got to move!" Tonks said.

"Yeah... actually hold on. I've got an idea." Harry said with a made look on his face.

Once they were done, they had five minutes to reach the infirmary, running as if their lives depended on it, they made a dash for the door.

They had just entered when they saw their past selves disappear.

"We made it..." Tonks said breathing heavily.

"Yeah..." Harry agreed just as breathless.

They looked up and saw the anxious looks on their friend's faces.

"Hold on... what just happened?" Ron asked looking between Harry and Tonks now and where they were a few minutes before.

"Honestly Ronald." Hermione said with slight exasperation followed by a chuckle.

The others followed suit, but rather quietly seeing as how Su had at some point fallen asleep.

"Time turner... that makes so much sense now."

They all turned to look at the dark skinned boy who slowly opened his eyes to look at the rest of them.

"All these months and I didn't think of time turner. I read about it but thought no teacher would be so... irresponsible... but I just remembered that this was the same school that let a possessed man teach a subject and keep not one but two dangerous animals in the same vicinity."

They ignored his mumbling and flooded his bed.

"You're okay!" Harry said happily.

"'Course I am."

"I'm so happy." Tonks added with a calming breath.

"Good to see you back." Ron said while shooting Andrew a smile.

"Good to be back." Andrew replied with a smile of his own.

"I'm so happy to see you again." Hermione said teary eyed.

"Me too." Andrew replied, locking eyes with her. "Err, Mione?" her teary expression was now replaced with a look of fury.

"You. Absolute. Moron! What. Were. You. Thinking?! You almost gave me a heart attack!" Hermione yelled, emphasizing each word with a smack on the arm.

"Ow! Jesus, okay! I'm sorry! Hermione, stop! I'm injured!" That seemed to work as Hermione relented and looked a bit sheepish.

"You can't do this to me again." she told him giving him no room to argue.

"I won't. I promise." he told her softly.

Hermione sniffed and raised her hand. "Pinky promise?"

Andrew chuckled slightly. "Pinky promise." He looked over and saw Su lying by his feet sleeping peacefully and couldn't help but smile, he doubted he'd ever seen her look so relaxed.

"So what happened?" he asked looking between Tonks and Harry.

The two shared a look and grinned. "Well..."

During the course of the tale they heard a massive scream come from somewhere in the castle announcing the discovery of a passed out Peter Pettigrew. The next moments were an absolute flurry of commotion, Fudge trying to ward off the press that he himself invited to photograph the capture of Black, the DMLE slowly trying to remove the previously presumed dead man off the wall and Dumbledore smiling as he watched the entire thing go down.

The next morning Andrew and Ron had received Madam Pomfrey's blessing for an early release and boy were they happy, evacuating the infirmary as soon as they received the news. Headed off the common room to change and meeting the rest of their friends down in Great Hall.

They arrived to see everyone, literally everyone in the Great Hall reading the morning addition of the Prophet. Moving over to the Gryffindor table they sat beside their friends and peeked at the paper themselves.

Black but not Dark!

By Rita Skeeter

Hello dear readers! It has just been recently discovered that the serial mass murderer Sirius Black is innocent! That's right ladies and gentlemen, the man we were all lead to believe is responsible for not only the deaths' of 12 muggles and the parents of our very own Boy-Who-Lived; Harry Potter, has been rotting in a cell in Azkaban for the past 12 years is innocent!

Allow me to start from the very beginning; at the highest peak of the moon our dear Minister called an emergency meeting, telling all reporters and on staff Aurors to meet in the Atrium. Once we had arrived Minister Fudge announced the capture subsequent kiss of Sirius Black.

Of course this garnered the attention of the crowd gathered and we were soon on our way to Hogwarts to capture this momentous event. Of course once we arrived in the great castle, many of us had once entered as students, we were met with a sight that made us all very confused.

A man once presumed dead was stuck on the wall opposite near the Great Hall, and who was this man, you may be asking yourselves; well it was none other than Peter Pettigrew!

Fudge had deemed it a cruel prank pulled on them, but this was soon to be proven truth when the man confirmed our suspicions. Once the DMLE had taken the man down he was immediately cuffed and escorted to the Ministry. We are under no illusion that they are building a case against this escape artist, but that still leaves a rather heavy question: What does this mean for the escaped convict; Sirius Black?

Well I guess we'll just have to wait and see, won't we dear readers?

The paper shared a bit more detail about some of the events of the night but Andrew was way too happy to care about that. During the course of the night he and Harry had a long conversation through their link, one of the topics was the fact that Sirius had expressed interested in adopting them. This was a step towards that direction, towards the direction of a Dursley free life.

Dumbledore rose and cleared his throat. "Now I know the news is quite exciting, I believe this year has been filled with quite a few moments of excitement. But now I believe is the time to buckle down. Now the end of the school year is fast approaching, it is time to study and get fantastic marks for your finally reports. Well then... off you go, time waits for no man, or woman!" he said smiling as the children gathered their belongings and made their way to class.

The next few weeks were in Ron's words, "absolute hell". They sat through every exam they had. Hermione having told Professor McGonagall that she had to pull out of a few classes, she just couldn't handle the load; much to Andrew's relief.

Harry noticed that he had been seeing less and less of Tonks these past few weeks, he rationalized that it had to come from her studying, he was under no illusion that NEWT's were deathly hard and she needed every ounce of concentration she could muster. It was on Thursday (Transfiguration day) as Hermione deemed it, that Andrew noticed his brother's mood.

"What's wrong with you?" he asked not looking up from his text book.

Harry's head shot up and looked at his brother before peeking at the rest of their party which consisted of Hermione, Ron, Su and Luna.

"Nothing." he replied.

"... you know I can feel what you feel right? And your consistent brooding is annoying me."

"It's about Tonks."

"I figured, so what about her?"

"She's the reason..."

Andrew looked up and shot Harry a look of annoyance.

"Right, well..." Harry described the memories which lead him to produce the Patronus that saved them that night.

"Woah... so an Octopus? That must look so awesome... But anyway, Tonks, huh?"

"Stop. Don't start."

"I wasn't going to say anything bad, I swear. To be honest I really like her; not like that!" Andrew laughed causing the others to look at him oddly. "Nothing, sorry." he apologized.

"No I mean I think she's really cool, but like, she's older than us, and you know, it's her last year here. So... don't get your hopes up."

Harry was silent for a moment, thinking over what his brother had just said.

"I hate it when you're right..." the raven haired boy muttered grumpily.

"I know." Andrew replied cheekily.

A few days before exams began saw Harry sitting by the lake choosing to read his Potions text outside, away from the loud and boisterous Gryffindor tower, especially now since Andrew had committed nearly all the material in his mind, he and Hermione had started a study off. Challenging each other to provide as much information about a subject that they could. The others allowed it since most of them didn't know the answers to most of the questions anyway and the older years, well they had a bet running so...

"Wotcher." he heard.

Turning he saw Tonks standing a little ways from him.

"Hey." he greeted back.

There was a lull where neither spoke and simply turned to look at the lake.

"Oh, this is where you blasted Kyle with the Argumenti charm." Tonks said with a small laugh.

"Oh right, that prick."

"You got him back rather well though." Tonks added with a small laugh.

"Yeah we did." Harry responded with a little laugh of his own.

"So... Harry I think we should talk about what happened that night we saved Sirius." she told him as she approached him.

"I uh... I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend you or..."

"Oh, no, no, no Harry that isn't the problem, hell if I were your age I would've been eccentric when you... but I'm older than you." she reminded him echoing Andrew's suspicions.

"Why should that matter?" Harry mumbled.

Tonks smiled at his reaction. "Harry, I'm a crush. Something you think you really want but let's look at this logically, I'm of age and you aren't. I'm graduating this year and you've got another four years to go. You'll see next year you'll forget all about me and have a crush on another girl."

"You don't know that." he said with a shake of his head.

"Yes I do. Harry we're friends, and I really hope that never changes but that's all we'll ever be."

Harry sighed softly and turned back to the lake.

"This sucks." he said to no one in particular.

Tonks walked up and joined him by the bank.

"I know it does, but hey you'll see. Soon you'll be making eyes at another girl and she'll be smart, and pretty and a badass. And when you finally man-up and ask her out, she'll say yes."

The two of them sat there for a moment, watching the lake and noticed the squid playfully swimming below the surface.

"This sucks." Harry muttered again.

"I know... but I promise, it'll get better." Tonks replied as she tilted her head and rested it on his shoulder.
