Last Time on Black and White:

The voice in Andrew's mind brought him back just as he caught the last of Moody's speech.

"... There have only ever been two to survive the spell and they are both in this class right now."

Harry and Andrew turned and gave each other a look before turning back to their professor, who still seemed to regard them with something, dark. Not quite a glare but something close. He pulled out a flask and took a swig before turning away from the boys.

Just then the bell sounded and he let the students out except for Neville who he requested to talk to for a moment.

Book 4 – Chapter 7: Trust the Tiny Teacher

"He's brilliant isn't he?" Ron asked in an excited tone as they headed towards the common room before going to Supper.

The rest of the group shot a boy a look of absolute madness before he backtracked.

"I- I mean, don't get me wrong, he's absolutely barmy, but you can't deny that class was good." he responded quickly.

"If that was his first class, what the hell is he going to do for the second one?" Harry asked curiously.

"Well, I guess we're going to find out, bright and early tomorrow morning." Andrew answered.

"Did you see Neville's face? When he cast the Cruciatus?" Hermione asked.

"No, but from your face, it couldn't have been good." Andrew said.

"It wasn't. Poor Neville, I hope he's doing okay."

They finally arrived to their common room and separated to put their books away when Harry pulled Andrew away from Ron.

"Hey you know that Ravenclaw friend of yours?" he asked quietly.

"Su?"

"No, the other one; Luna Lovegood."

"Oh, yeah what about her?"

"I found her this afternoon being bullied by some girls in her house."

"What?"

"Yeah, they were calling her names and seemed to be awful towards her."

Andrew adopted a thoughtful look before nodding his head.

"Thanks, I'll bring it up tonight. See if she'll tell me anything." Andrew commented.

Harry nodded and bumped his brother's shoulder before headed out to join Hermione, and the others soon joined him.

Once they entered the Great Hall Andrew waved to his friends and made his way over to the Ravenclaw table and sat down beside Luna.

"Hello Luna."

"Oh, hello Drew. How are you this evening."

"I'm all right, how about you?"

"I'm fine, thank you."

Andrew smiled at the girl and proceeded to fill his plate with some food, ignoring the looks he was getting from the other Ravenclaw students.

The two seemed to talk for a moment before Luna looked up and smiled happily.

"Su."

Andrew turned and sure enough there stood Su Li staring at him with a look of absolute shock.

"An- Potter, what are you doing here?"

Andrew frowned at the use of his last name. "Having supper, why don't you join us?" he said.

Su seemed to battle with herself for a second before nodding her head and sat on the opposite side of Luna and began putting food on her own plate. There were a few seconds of silence before Andrew decided to break the ice... with a tank.

"Hey Luna, how are things in Ravenclaw tower?" he asked curiously.

"Oh, it's quite beautiful. It's decorated with Blue and Silver and there's a library in the common room. Also there's a beautiful portrait of Rowena Ravenclaw herself above the door of the common room." She told him excitedly.

"Really?" Andrew asked interested. "We don't have a portrait of Godric in our tower."

"Hmm, I wonder why? Maybe he didn't like how he looked in portrait form?"

"Maybe... hey is the portrait magical?"

"No... unfortunately, it's just a regular picture, but she looks so amazing in it." Luna said in an airy tone.

"Luna, honestly." Su said tiredly. "Calm down, you've got food on your chin. Hold still." she said as she pulled out a handkerchief and began cleaning the spill on the girls chin. Once she had finished Andrew looked at Luna and smiled.

"Well, I'd love to see it one day, and what about the students? Making any friends?" he asked as he ate a forkful of peas.

"I believe they're quite nice." she answered. Andrew waited for more but didn't get anything else. He frowned slightly then stared at Su until she made eye contact.

He frowned slightly while she raised her eyebrow. He motioned to the door, Su gave him a look of understanding.

"Hey, Luna, Su and I will be right back, okay?"

The girl nodded before humming and continued eating.

Once the two older students were out of the Hall and behind one of the suits of armour Andrew started.

"What the hell is happening in Ravenclaw tower?" he asked Su.

"I don't know. Usually when I'm there, nothing. But lately, Luna's things have gone missing and she doesn't know where they are." she replied sadly.

"So someone or some people are bullying her." he said angrily. "Why haven't you done anything?"

"What would you have me do? She won't tell me anything about the bullying, I had to find out when her stuff turned up damaged. She won't talk about it with me, and when I do ask she always blames the Nargles." Su retorted just as angrily.

Andrew sighed in annoyance.

"What do you want me to do exactly? Threaten everyone in Ravenclaw tower? Yeah right."

Andrew took a calming breath and turned to Su.

"You're right, sorry. I'm just... not a fan of bullying. Could you at the very least keep an eye out and let me know when you find something?" he asked.

"I mean, I don't see anything wrong with that." she replied before nodding.

"Okay, well, we should head back in before she thinks we've abandoned her."

"She won't think that." Su said confidently before headed towards the door and stopped to turn to Andrew again. "You really care about her, huh?"

"I guess I do. She's probably one of the very few people in this place I actually care about." he answered with a smile.

"Who else is on that list?" she asked curiously.

"Harry, Hermione, the twins, you, Flitwick... I'm on the fence about Ron." he replied while placing a hand under his chin.

"Wait, I'm on the list?"

"Of course you are. Why wouldn't you be?"

"I- I mean... I just-"

"Su, you are someone I care about and it doesn't matter how many times you try to push me away, it'll more than likely not change that."

Su was shocked at the sincerity of his words.

"Now come on, let's go, yeah?"

The rest of the meal passed without any incident while Su and Luna told Andrew about the Ravenclaw common room, Luna seemed more excited about sharing than Su, but the Asian girl smiled along with the other two.

Back in the boys dormitory Harry spotted Hedwig with a letter around her leg and quickly headed over to untie it.

"Hey girl, did you just get here?" the raven haired teen asked softly.

Hedwig barked a response.

"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't bring you any bacon. Andrew told me you were here earlier but I guess I missed you. This from Tonks?" he asked again while scratching her chin affectionately.

Hedwig revelled in the attention and nipped his fingers softly.

Pulling the letter open he read it happily.

Wotcher Harry!

So sorry I haven't gotten back to you in a while. Training is honestly insane this is the first time in a while I've had a chance to relax somewhat.

I've made a few friends here, thanks for asking, but honestly I can't seem to shake missing you and your crazy brother.

So I'm assuming that you've been told about the Tri-Wizard Tournament, already. Are you excited?I heard the Ministry was adamant about bringing it back. Honestly don't know why though.

Anyway, have you met Moody yet? I know he's a bit... eccentric but he's honestly amazing, would you please tell him to get back to me as soon as he can though; he said he'd send me some suggestions about training and he hasn't sent anything yet.

Well anyway I really hope you enjoy this year, and please I know your penchant for danger but please try not to get yourself involved in this. People have died in this tournament, Harry.

I really do miss you.

xoxoxo Tonks

P.S have you found yourself a lady friend yet?

Harry read the letter and re-read it a few times, shaking his head at the last line. No of course he hadn't found a 'lady friend'. Apparently having a crush on someone is a lot harder to get rid of as easily as Tonks had said it would be the previous year.

But he couldn't help but smile at her caring about him and his safety. He considered writing his response but thought against it, seeing as it was quite late. He thought he'd write her back once he had spoken to Moody about what she had asked him.

Stretching Harry changed into his pajamas and got ready for bed. Tomorrow was Friday so he'd be able to relax for a bit after classes.

After breakfast the next morning Harry and Co found themselves back in Moody's class and whatever they had been expecting for that day was completely thrown out of the water by the man's next words.

"Today, I'll be casting one of the Unforgivables on you." he stated calmly.

There was a moment of shocked silence in the class before Andrew raised his hand.

"Hmm?" Moody gestured.

"Sir, could you please elaborate, because as we know there are three of them, I think the class is quite... worried which curse you had in mind... and why exactly."

Moody scoffed at the question.

"The Imperious Curse, of course. Did you think I'd torture or kill you?"

Andrew didn't respond and continued to stare at the man with a blank look.

Moody let out a laugh. "I may be paranoid boy, but I ain't crazy! And as to 'why' I want you all to become familiar with the sensation so that you can recognize and later try to fight it off. Of course we'll start the practice now so that we can see if you have any willpower to stop it." he answered.

"But sir, that's illegal." Hermione called out in horror.

"Then leave." he said simply, shocking Hermione even further. "Now then, let's see shall we? Hmm, yes Finnegan; you first. Get up here." he said point while pointing out Seamus.

The boy looked around for some assistance, but understandably people wanted to see just what would happen. When he finally arrive and stood in front of the teacher Moody pointed his wand at the boys head.

"Now try to fight it. Imperio!" "Walk like a chicken while barking like a dog." Moody commanded

Seamus immediately started flapping his arms and intermediately barked. This went for a few seconds before Moody released the spell.

"Not easy, huh?" he asked with a laugh before calling up the next student.

This went on for a while; Ron had to hop on one foot while reciting poetry, which Andrew was quite surprised to discover Ron knew. Dean Thomas was forced to perform multiple acrobatic stunts. Draco Malfoy was forced to act like a duck and quack like one, a memory Ron happily stored in his mind.

When Hermione was called up, Andrew unconsciously pulled his wand and gripped it tightly, when the curse was shot at her, he twitched slightly before watching her with baited breath. She seemed to be resisting for a while before she began dancing ballet, beautifully; but that wasn't the important point, she hadn't managed to block the attack.

Andrew relaxed when she was released and frowned at his wand before he placed it back in his pocket, unsure when or why he had drawn it.

"Did you see that you lot?! She was close resisted for a few seconds there, well done lass. 10 points to Gryffindor." he said while nodding in approval.

"Next, Harry Potter." he called out.

Andrew watched his brother step up bravely, bloody Gryffindor courage.

"Ready Potter?" at his nod, Moody cast the spell. "Imperio!" "Jump on the table and flip off of it."

Harry started moving before he stopped.

"Why would I do that?" Harry asked himself while frowning.

"Does seem rather silly doesn't it?" another voice chimed in.

"Jump on the table!" Moody commanded again.

"I really don't see the point." Harry thought.

"True, plus you know, school pants tear rather easily, remember what happened to Neville when he slipped?" the second voice chimed in again.

"Do it Potter!" Moody yelled in Harry's mind.

"NO!" Harry yelled before stepping back and breathing heavily.

"Ha ha! Did you see that?! He completely resisted!" Moody said excitedly. "Ha! Take twenty points for Gryffindor, Potter!"

Harry nodded before headed back to his seat and shot Andrew a look to which his replied with a nod and a wink. Harry smiled and nodded back.

"Let's see, Andrew Potter!"

When Andrew stepped up and stared at Moody the man seemed to pause for a second, glancing at Harry for a split second before shaking his head and looking back at the boy.

"You ready Potter?"

"Yes si-"

He didn't get to finish as Moody shot the Spell at him. "Do a cartwheel around the room."

Andrew was about to move when a voice broke in.

"Did you do your stretches?"

"Huh, you're right I didn't. I could've seriously hurt myself." Andrew thought to himself.

"Do the cartwheel, Potter!" Moody's voice echoed again.

"No need to yell, I heard you the first time, Christ." Andrew thought.

"Quite pushy isn't he?"

"I know."

"Potter, move it!"

"You know I'd much rather not!" Andrew yelled at the teacher.

Moody stared in shock before laughing out loud again.

"Another one! Ha! And it's the other Potter to boot! Brill! They'll have a hard time controlling you two!" The man said happily before awarding more points to Gryffindor and continuing down the list before the bell signalled the end of class.

While the other students Harry jogged over to the teacher.

"Err, Professor Moody?"

"Hmm? Oh, what is it Potter?"

"Well sir, I've talking to a friend of mine, I think you may know her; Nymphadora Tonks?"

Moody seemed to be confused for a second.

"She's in Auror training, sir. She said you had taken her under your wing." he informed him while frowning at the teacher's response.

"Hmm, right, sorry Lad, a lot on my mind. So what about Trainee Tonks?" he asked gruffly.

"She had asked that you send her those notes you said would about the training. She told me that she's yet to receive them." Harry told her.

"Ah, must'a slipped my mind, you know how it is when you get older."

"Well, I'm only 14 sir, so... no I don't."

Moody laughed out loud again. "Guess you're right, boy. Don't worry I'll send Tonks her things."

Harry couldn't help the frown on his face as he continued to watch the scarred man. The tension in the room rose as neither one backed down from the staring contest.

"Harry come on, we've got to go or Snape's going to shit on us harder than he usually does." came a voice from the doorway.

Turning he noticed his brother standing their his hand in his pocket and staring at the two of them closely.

"Right, well sir. Thank you for your time, I'd better get going."

"Hmm." Moody replied with a nod before once more pulling his flask and taking a massive swig from it.

Once the brothers were sure they were a small distance away from the classroom Andrew turned to Harry.

"What the fuck was that about?" he asked seriously.

"I don't know, but I'm getting a gut feeling about him." Harry replied. "I thought you had left."

"I felt the tension." Andrew said pointing to his head and Andrew immediately understood. "So I came back and thought I'd intervene before... something happened."

"Thanks for that, by the way. I wasn't sure I was just going to walk away from that."

"What started it."

Harry sighed before telling his brother about his communications with Tonks and what she had told him about Moody.

"I get it." Andrew said with a nod. "He personally took her under his wing and he suddenly forgets her. Yeah, that definitely stinks."

"Exactly." Harry said with a nod.

"So, what do you think we should do about it?"

"Dumbledore?"

Andrew scoffed, "Of course, not."

"Fine... then Flitwick."

"Well, we're seeing him tonight anyway so. It wouldn't hurt." Andrew said with a nod. "But we have to make sure it doesn't get out, if Moody found out we're suspicious about him and we're right, I don't doubt he'd do something about us."

Harry nodded his approval.

"Potter 1, Potter 2! You're late! 50 points from Gryffindor each!"

They hadn't realized they had made it to potions.

"But, people are just taking their seats!" Andrew tried.

"Another 30 points for your cheek, Potter 2. Want to continue?" Snape asked with a glare.

Andrew sighed but said nothing and moved to his seat next to Blaise and glared at Snape.

"That sucks." Blaise said in an amused tone.

"Shut it, Zabini."

Once classes had ended for the day Harry and Andrew headed to Flitwick's classroom.

"Good Afternoon boys." he greeted happily.

"Hello sir." they greeted back.

"Well, if I'm not mistaken the last lesson was the long range Argumenti practice. How do you feel about it now?" he asked.

"We could give it a try and see what happens." Andrew said with a shrug.

"Brilliant. Well let's start, shall we?"

Flitwick conjured the dummies to stand on one end of the room and the boys on the other and they began.

It took around ten minutes but the boys were finally able to cast the spell and have it connect with the dummies with enough force to knock them over. Another five minutes and the dummies were sent flying into the opposite end of the wall.

Harry sighed and frowned, he'd been able to do this quite easily a little while ago. Having sent Tonks' ex blasting into a tree. But shrugged nonetheless.

"Nice going boys. Now how about we take a small break hmm?" he asked with a smile.

Once they sat down and started relaxing slightly Andrew brought up the topic they were curious about.

"So sir, if we were to tell you something, would you be able to keep it to yourself?"

"That depends on what it is that you would tell me." Flitwick said.

"What if it had to do with a faculty member? Would you be able to simply hear us out and maybe give us some advice without, letting any of other teachers know?" Harry clarified.

"Why do you ask?" the tiny professor asked frowning at the delicate way the boys were approaching the subject.

"We don't want this getting back to said teacher." Harry informed him.

"Why not go to Headmaster Dumbledore with this information?"

"I don't trust him to not approach said teacher in some blind attempt to figure out the problem on his own. Not only will it alert the person, it'll likely shine a light on us as the ones who are suspicious. We kind of want to play our cards close the chest on this one." Andrew replied.

"Hmm, well. I'll certainly listen to you, but should I believe the students are in danger I will alert the authorities." he told them seriously.

"Oh we have not problem with that sir." Harry answered with a nod. "But we just them in the dark as long as possible so that we can maybe figure something out in the meantime, or try to discover what it is they want."

"Hmm, all right boys. You have my word, I shall not inform the Headmaster of what you have told me here tonight." Flitwick said with a nod.

"Nor any of the other teachers. No leaks, Professor. After we tell you they will only be three people who know something's going on." Andrew stressed, thus causing the Charms Professor to amend his promise.

"Okay, well, it's about Professor Moody sir, you see..."

Harry began retelling everything to Flitwick and once he was done the man sat with his chin on his hand, in deep thought.

"Hmm, yes I knew Alastor from a little while ago. That certainly does not sound like him at all." he agreed. "Okay well, I shall keep an eye on him in the meanwhile I don't suggest you two stay in his presence alone. From what you've told me, he might already suspect that you know something."

The two boys nodded. "Perhaps I should visit Madam Bones as well." he muttered to himself.

"Madam Bones?" they asked with a frown.

"Alastor's old boss back from when he was an Auror, she is much younger than him, but he didn't want the position when it was offered and instead suggested Amelia. Perhaps I should visit her, see what she thinks of Moody's relationship to Miss Tonks."

The boys looked like they were about to argue when he raised a hand to stop them.

"I thank you boys for coming to me with this; it shows how much you trust me not only as an instructor but also as a confidant. So I ask you boys trust that I will not tell her any information that might lead Alastor to suspicion. She is a good person and should we be able to have her come in and handle the old man, should something happen, it'll go a long way for you to have her on your side." Flitwick said.

The boys seemed to debate it for a second before Andrew nodded.

"Alright sir, we trust you." he told him.

"Now, shall we move on? I believe next we should practice should the Accio spell." he said in his usual jovial tone.
