Through the city, a girl gave chase
To a fox to which she thought could race
And lead her beyond her palace reach
To the peasant from who she could be teach
Calmly, she knocked on the door
The man asked who called for
When she did not answer, he demanded a name
Her lucid response was "The Heavenly Jade"
He opened his house with the greatest of frights
Yet she could see his hidden might
He knew of Spells and Secrets and War in the Night
She begged him to disclose the shadows
But long loneliness had left the man hallowed
He tested the royal, and found her humble
And knew in opposition she would not crumble
"You are simple as a gown, yet fierce as an ox
Hence forth Jade shall become Silk Fox"
With years the young Princess grew
Until of spells and secrets did knew
The teacher, once old, had thought
That the fox had accomplished what it sought
To take a leader, and finding her true
Teach her exactly what she could do.
Yay! Another short blurb for you to enjoy. Reviews are welcome as this is my first attempt at rhymed verse.
