Last Time on Black and White:

"I just tore into you for ostracising one of your own and now you're turning around and starting to do it to another?! Can none of you grow the fuck up and learn empathy? No one is to bully Marietta about what has transpired here today and no one outside of Ravenclaw shall know either! Or else." he growled.

Turning to Su he sighed tiredly and offered the girl his elbow.

"M'lady?" he said calmly.

Su seemed to debate it for a second before smiling and accepting the arm. "M'lord." she responded with a smile.

Book 4 – Chapter 9: And it Begins.

Hermione sat in the Great Hall and noticed that Andrew hadn't come down for Supper yet, looking at the Ravenclaw table, she noticed less than a handful of students sitting at the table, one of them being the Lovegood girl she had met a while ago, but no Su Li. She blinked and shook her head.

"I wonder where the 'Claws are." Harry said.

"I was thinking the same thing. Usually they're the first few here." Hermione replied.

"Probably got caught up studying something." Ron commented with an uncaring shrug.

Just then Hermione turned to look down the Gryffindor table and noticed Pavarti and Lavender, the two girls spared her a glance but nodded their heads and went back to their conversation.

"Hey guys!"

"Andrew! Where the hell have you been lately?" Harry asked with a frown.

"Oh you know, busy with the law stuff. I'm looking for a lawyer now. Someone who can represent us and let us know what we can do." he informed his brother.

"Oh... is it really that big a task?"

"I mean yeah, we don't want someone who'll fuck us over, right?" he asked with a smile.

Hermione did not miss the fact that Su Li entered the hall almost immediately after the boy but shelved that for a bit later.

"Hey, Andrew. Could we talk when we get back to the common room?" she asked him quietly.

The boy seemed confused at this requested but nodded nonetheless. Soon the rest of Ravenclaw entered the Great Hall, nobody missed just how... emotionally beaten they looked. Hermione looked up at Andrew but he didn't seem to notice the students as he watched the teachers.

Finally Dumbledore stood to address the students.

"Good Evening, as you all know, tomorrow the delegations of Durmstrang and Beauxbatons will be joining us. Please be aware classes will be cancelled after 11:30 am tomorrow as they are scheduled to arrive at precisely noon. As such please make sure you are looking your absolute best." he informed them with a smile.

The food finally appeared and the students dug in happily.

Once they entered the common room Hermione pulled Andrew to a corner for some privacy.

"Where were you today?" she asked him seriously.

"What are talking ab-"

"Did you know when you lie you twitch your left eyebrow ever so slightly?" she asked him straight faced.

"Really? How do you know that?" he asked while frowning.

"I've watched you lie so much I figured I should start looking for tells. So are you going to tell me or...?"

"Huh, Harry can't even tell when I'm lying all the time. Impressive." he told her with a grin.

"So?"

"Right, okay here's the whole story..."

Once he had finished telling Hermione everything the girl stared at him wide eyed and her mouth hanging open in shock and horror.

"You threatened Ravenclaw tower!" she whispered hotly.

"Only so that they would stop their bullying." he answered looking somewhat bashful.

"Oh my God, Andrew. You could get expelled for this!" she said angrily.

"Hey guys." Harry said popping out of nowhere. "What's going on?"

Before he could stop her, Hermione explained the situation to Harry. Once she was done the boy turned to his brother blank faced.

"So that was what I felt? You fucking moron!" he hissed angrily.

"It's fine, besides everyone will be too busy with the tournament and pranking war to worry about me." he told them.

Harry paused and glared harder at his brother. "What fucking pranking war?!" he growled.

"The one I'm setting up. I was planning to use this at the end of seventh year, you know, really make a spectacle for when we leave this place, but I couldn't pass up the other schools being here tomorrow." he told them with a grin.

"Are you fucking serious?!"

"Dude, eww no that's gross! I much prefer girls." he answered trying to lighten the mood.

It took Harry a moment to catch up what his brother had said before he glowered and pulled his wand.

"Harry? What are doing with that? Calm down."

"I'm going to kill you."

Andrew turned to see Hermione holding her wand in her hand as well, to make matters worse her wand was shooting sparks out of the end of hers

"Hermione."

"You. Are. An. Idiot!" she yelled firing a stinging curse with every word.

"Ow, Hermione okay I'm sorry!"

Harry shook his head, but took a breath to calm himself down.

"I think I'll leave the punishment up to her." he said gesturing to Hermione before walking away.

"I'm sorry, really I am. But I just can't stand..."

Hermione sighed. "I know, but Andrew, you could've told us about it. It just feels like you're... pulling away from us." she said quietly.

"I didn't know, I mean I know I've been busy with my own stuff and it's been a lot of stuff but I didn't know you felt that way. I'm sorry."

"I should've said something earlier-"

"You said so yourself, when would you have had the chance." he cut her off with a smile and shrug.

"I've missed you, you know that?" she told him with a small laugh and soft punch to the shoulder.

"I do now. I'll make it up to you. I promise." he told her with a smile.

"Good. Now, what's going on with you and Su?" she asked with a sly smirk.

"What are you on about?" he asked with a laugh.

"Don't act coy, I saw you two come into the Hall together!"

"I've told you already."

Unknown to the two they were being being watched by Lavender and Pavarti who once more shook their heads and continued to do their homework.

The time had arrived, the other schools were set to arrive to Hogwarts and soon. Andrew had been thoroughly warned against pulling any pranks and that it wouldn't be met with any positivity at all. Reluctantly he agreed to her point.

The students were gathered along the courtyard as they waited in anticipation. There were mummers of excitement throughout the students. When finally a shout of excitement was heard.

"Up there!" someone shouted excitedly.

Looking up the students saw a large figure flying through the sky.

"What is that?"

"Is it a dragon?"

"Of course it isn't!"

Andrew shook his head at the interaction he heard behind him. Another shout was heard and the students looked at the Great Lake and were shocked to see a ship slowly sailing through the mouth of the Lake and lay anchor a few feet away from the shore.

"Impressive." Andrew said to Hermione who stood next to him.

She snorted but didn't disagree as the two schools very obviously wanted to make an impression. The horse drawn carriage landed relatively close to the school and everyone waited with baited breath to see who would come out of it.

Andrew was expecting many things to come out of the carriage ranging from a snooty looking, no nonsense kind of person to an ethereal looking being gliding on to the grounds of Hogwarts, he was not expecting an 8 foot woman, clad in a baby blue coat with a fur trimmings to step out.

"Ho-Ly Shit." he whispered in shock.

"Language." Hermione muttered next to him, but it was clear she was just as shocked.

"Ah, Dumbly-dore!" the gigantic woman spoke, with a strong French accent.

"Madam Maxime, I trust the journey was pleasant?" the Headmaster of Hogwarts, one of the greatest men in British History asked, while looking up at the – what Andrew assumed was the Headmistress of Beauxbatons Academy.

"Oui, zo, it was a very long journey." she told him.

"Understandable." he said with a smile.

Next thing Andrew knew, the most suspect looking individual stepped up the castle, the dude had a cane, maroon coat with fur trimmings and a damned moustache that hung completely separated from the rest of his beard. I mean... come on!

He continued to stare at the man in what he could only describe as 'not a glare' as the suspicious looking guy walked up to the other two.

"Dumbledore, Maxime." he greeted with a nod of his head.

"Ah, Headmaster Kakaroff, it is a pleasure to see you again." Dumbledore greeted with a smile as he took the man's hand.

"Likewise." Kakaroff responded, somewhat reluctantly.

"Okay, so I'm not the only person who's suspicious of that guy right?" Ron whispered from behind them.

"Ron! You shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. He could be a very decent man!" Hermione scolded at their red headed friend.

"No, no, I'm with Ron on this. Dude definitely has something about him I don't like." Andrew chimed in.

"Honestly."

"Listen, we could just keep on eye on him this year, I mean it seems like for once we won't be forced to do anything ridiculously stupid for a change, so we'll have the chance to." Harry said with a shrug.

"True, hey you speak to Tonks yet?" Andrew asked.

"Not yet, we still don't really know what's going on." Harry replied with a shrug.

"Regarding what?" Hermione asked looking between the two.

"Didn't we tell you?" Harry asked with a frown.

"No." Ron replied for Hermione while also looking interested.

"Dammit, we've been so busy with other shit- All right, here's the plan, meet after supper and we'll discuss everything up to now." Harry said with a determined nod.

"Agreed." the other three said in unison.

They turned back to the Leaders of their schools and listened to the final section of the discussion.

"So we are in agreement then? We shall rest up and meet back at supper to properly introduce your schools?" Dumbledore asked with a kind smile.

"Oui." Madam Maxime agreed with a thankful smile.

Kakaroff simply grunted his response, but it seemed positive.

"Wonderful, I shall see you then." Dumbledore said with a smile before turning to the students.

"The rest of classes have been put off for the day, I only ask that you honour our guests request and let them rest before the feast tonight. That is all." he told the students with a smile.

"Alright, so... I guess we can have that talk now?" Andrew said with a shrug.

The others agreed and agreed to meet just outside the library for their talk.

The four friends had their lunch and headed off to the Library where only a few stragglers were reading. They moved over to a secluded part of the room and found a table with four seats tucked away near one of the corners.

"Okay, let's start shall we?" Hermione said looking towards the others.

They then began retelling what they had been doing up till that moment.

"You dueled the Ravenclaw's? Wicked." Ron said once Andrew had told him.

"No, not wicked! We should probably go to Flitwick and explain what happened before someone from his house does." Harry replied.

"He won't be happy." Andrew said.

"No, but he'll respect us more for coming forward."

The rest of the conversation went along the same route until they were all successfully caught up in each others lives.

"So you guys are suspicious of Moody?" Hermione asked the two Potters.

"I mean yeah, he doesn't seem like the type to forget his own personal pupils. A man as paranoid as that? He'd make sure to do extensive research to make sure they aren't enemies out to get back at him for something." Andrew replied.

"So why not just tell Tonks?" Ron asked with a shrug.

"Simple. She won't let us investigate this ourselves, she'll contact Moody himself and tip him off, we need to figure out what's going on before we include her." Harry responded.

"That's where Flitwick comes in. But why not the Headmaster?"

"I don't trust him." Andrew answered simply.

"Andrew! He is the Headmaster! If anyone can be trusted, it's him."

"And yet here we are trying to solve yet another mystery he's overlooked. First the Troll and Quirrel, then the Basilisk and finally Sirius. He could've jumped in at any time, but we're the ones who have been working hard to find the answers!"

Hermione and Andrew shot each other a hard look, neither one backing down from their point until Ron spoke up.

"He told a professor at the very least, Hermione. Can't you accept that?" he asked softly before placing a hand on her shoulder to calm her down.

"Fine. But just know; I'm not happy about it."

"Speaking of telling a teacher, we should probably get this over with." Andrew said reluctantly while standing up.

"You'll let us know how it goes, yeah?" Ron called after them.

The boys were about to answer but opted to simply nod when they saw the formidable Madam Prince with her signature scowl headed towards Ron and Hermione.

HP-AP-HP-AP-HP-AP

"So let me get this straight, you not only broke into Ravenclaw tower?"

"Well technically I was shown the way."

"Threatened my students?"

"I did try the diplomatic route first."

"And you damaged the tower?!"

"Just one of the bookshelves, though it was thoroughly damaged; I admit."

The tiny professor gave Andrew a hard look which the boy refused to meet.

"Why?" The charms professor asked simply.

"W-Well, you know the 'Claw Luna Lovegood?" at the professor's nod Andrew continued. "Well she was being bullied by the others in her year, so I thought I'd just have a talk with them, but then they decided to try and strong arm me out of there... I just reacted."

"What proof do you have of this bullying?"

"Su Li, we're mutual friends with Luna and well... informed me."

Flitwick seemed to regard Andrew with a blank stare for a moment before the boy spoke again.

"They mentioned something about a 'council' that looks into things like this. She stated that she had approached the council and they didn't do anything she felt as though she was out of options. It wasn't her fault though, in all honesty I was looking for an excuse to talk to them, unfortunately things didn't exactly go as planned."

"Mhm, well then I shall talk to my students and inform them of what has happened here today. Also, you will be serving detention with me for the next three months with an additional loss of 500 points for Gryffindor. You've broken several school rules here, Mr Potter and you are very lucky I have not suspended or even expelled you for this." Flitwick said harshly.

"I completely understand, sir. Thank you, for listening." Andrew said with a nod.

"Also, sir." Harry said getting their attention. "I had felt Andrew's spike in magic when all of this went down, when I felt his wand earlier it was hotter than I'd ever felt it."

"Let me see." Flitwick said holding out a hand.

When Andrew provided him with his wand he instantly nodded his head.

"Yes, it is quite hot. I believe you cast spells while being in a high state of emotion?"

"Yes sir."

"Hmm, well there's no damage done... but I would recommend you stick to small spells for the time being." he told the boy.

"Is there something wrong with it, sir?" Andrew asked in a worried tone.

"No, no, quite the opposite actually. It seems, happy, I feel it thrumming in my hands as if anticipating another battle. Phoenix cores, not very stable but great for powerful spells and castings." he informed them.

At their nod he returned the wand and the boys turned to leave.

"Andrew." he called out.

"Sir?"

"While I am quite upset and disappointed in you for not thinking of coming to me, first. I am thankful that you came and explained your side to me. I hope you understand that I did not punish you out of spite, but rather from a place of care."

"I do sir. No hard feelings, honestly." Andrew replied with a nod before leaving the room.

Flitwick watched the boys leave before rubbing the inside of his palm soothingly. Anticipating another battle, the fact that his wand was this excited by such a concept simply meant that the boy had truly been wanting to fight, he had been craving one in that moment, and his wand responded in kind. It had now tasted battle and craved more of it. The fact that it burned Harry spoke volumes, the boy had described it as 'hotter than anything.' but to Flitwick it felt almost as if he were holding molten steel. The blisters in his hand proved that; Andrew craved battle, Harry could withstand it and Flitwick avoided it. The wand reacted in kind.

Finally the time for supper arrived and the students all sat at their tables waiting for the feast to begin when the Great Hall doors opened, revealing the Gigantic Beauxbaton's Headmistress.

She strolled into the hall followed closely behind by what could only be described as some of the best looking girls Andrew had seen. Apparently he wasn't the only one seeing how the other boys seemed to agree with his sentiment. Ron seemed a bit too happy and after a few choice words from his sister the red head blushed bright and looked away.

The Beauxbaton's students were sat at the Ravenclaw table and Madam Maxime, joined Dumbledore and the other teachers at the high table.

Andrew saw his brother looking over at the Ravenclaw table and followed his trail until he saw...

"Oooh, Cho Chang. You got a crush there buddy?" he asked with a sly grin.

"What, no. What are you talking about?" Harry responded defensively.

"Hmm, too bad she's friends with... Marietta." Andrew said the same as if he was spitting it.

"She's one of the...?"

"Yup, but don't worry, during my investigation I discovered that Chang had no hand in what happened. Though after seeing how close the two are, I'm not sure if she just turned a blind eye to it."

Harry looked back over and when she looked up, the two made eye contact. He held it for a second, drinking in her features before she smiled at him and suddenly he was well aware that he was staring and looked away with a slight blush on his face.

"Ah, young love." Andrew said with a laugh.

"Shaddap."

"Oh just make sure to tell her your name, think she may have missed it when that was all you could say last time, you spoke." Andrew said with a chuckle.

Harry groaned and glared at his brother.

Andrew simply laughed harder.

Finally the Durmstrang students arrived, "Jesus, took their time, didn't they?" Andrew growled as they entered the hall. Suspicious man leading the charge, but what caught most of the Hall's attention was the boy walking beside the creepy dude.

"Th-That-That's Vi- Viktor Krum." Ron said breathlessly as he stared at the teen beside Kakaroff.

"Oh, yeah it is." Hermione said once she recognized the name from the Quidditch world cup.

"Think he'll give me an autograph if I asked?" he asked looking around excitedly.

"Yeah, I'm sure he will mate." Harry replied before slapping his friend on the back.

The red head looked at Krum and his company with hope, praying they would join them at the Gryffindor table, he frowned though when he saw them move over to the Slytherin table, he looked angrier when Malfoy shot him a smug grin.

Andrew watched this and frowned in thought.

"Hey, any of you guys notice that Malfoy's been really quiet this year?"

The others seemed to think about it for a moment before they nodded.

"Hmm, yeah."

"I hadn't noticed."

"Thank God."

Were the responses he got from them.

Dumbledore finally rose from his place at the table and once more announced that the Tournament would begin tonight and that the participants only had a week to enter their names. Then he clapped his hands and the food arrived. The students dug in with vigor.

There was an excitable buzz in the hall as the students communicated with one another talking about the upcoming tournament. Andrew shook his head at how excited they all sounded.

"Oi, Andrew, you're being awfully quiet there. Not excited about the show?" Seamus asked the boy.

"Are you kidding me? Why would I be?"

"Oh come off it mate, you know you'd enter your name if you could!" Dean jumped in with a small laugh.

"I really don't see the point." Andrew replied with a shrug.

"Why not?" Ginny was the one to ask this time around.

"Think about it; 1000 Galleons cool, but unless you're thinking of making an investment that money's going to run out a lot sooner than you'd think and the second thing... Eternal Glory? Yeah that's a sham." he said flippantly.

"Zat is quite ze negative attitude to 'ave for zis tournament." said a voice from behind him.

Andrew and Harry damn near jumped at the sudden inclusion and turned to face the person and came face to face with an absolute beauty. Golden Blonde hair, striking blue eyes and fair skin her features were very... symmetrical. They had to shake their heads before responding.

"Well, my negative attitude is what's going to be keeping me alive." he answered with a shrug.

"So, you do not support ze games?" she asked with a slight frown.

"Listen, if you'd like to risk your life for you name to be in some headline in a paper that's fine by me, everyone has the right to do that which they find... entertaining, but don't sell it as Eternal Glory when your just going to disappear into obscurity in a few months." he answered. Andrew noticed her blink a few times and inhale before he raised a hand to cut her off. Hermione did the same thing before she went on a rant and he honestly wasn't in the mood from one from a stranger.

"I'm guessing you're going to enter your name. I'll say it again, this is just my opinion, but I find a tournament where the last time it was held, every single participant died in the second task and nobody seemingly remembering those people should be all the proof I need. The papers didn't even name them after the third time they reported on the story; just called them the champions. So yeah I find it utterly ridiculous but, everyone seems to think it's some giant honor so what do I know?" he said with a bored shrug.

"Now I'm guessing you didn't come this way to hear me shit on the the very idea of this Tournament, what can I help you with?" Andrew asked.

"Oh are you going to be eating ze, Bouillabaisse?" she asked him once she was snapped back to reality.

Andrew turned to the table.

"Oh, here it is." Harry said handing it over to the girl.

"Merci." she thanked before nodding and walking away.

"Hmm, so that was interesting." Harry said. "Didn't know you hated it that much."

"Not hate, just find utterly ridiculous."

Turning back to the table they noticed the looks they were getting from the others at the table.

"What?" Harry asked with a frown.

"Nothing, but mate, how'd you two not lose your minds or... drool in front of a Veela?" Seamus asked while he himself seemed to be wiping drool from his face.

"Wait." he said turning to Hermione who gave him a very blank look. "She was a Veela?" he asked.

"Yeah, you didn't notice?"

"I mean, no? Harry?"

"No, I didn't realise it either." Harry said with a shrug.

Fluer had returned to her seat at the Ravenclaw table and sat down, her eyes narrowing at the boys she had just spoken to.

"Um, excuse me?" said a small voice.

Looking over Fleur saw a girl with short brown hair looking at her expectantly.

"Oui?" she replied.

"Um I know you wouldn't have known, but I suggest you stay away from that boy you were just speaking with."

"Oh? And why vould I do zat?"

"You see, he attacked Ravenclaw tower last night. He was let in by that girl at the end, with the short hair and glasses?" she said pointing at Su who was oblivious to this conversation. "They came in and made a bunch of demands before attacking several students and destroying a part of the tower." the girl told Fluer.

"Vat is ees name?" the French girl asked curiously.

"Oh, that's Andrew, Andrew Potter." the girl said with slight malice in her tone.

"Really? Hmm, vat was ze reason for zis attack?"

"Something minuscule, honestly I barely remember it, but... yeah he hurt poor Terry Boot over there. So I'd suggest not getting close to him."

"Hmm, vell, Mercie for ze word of varning, but I am... how d'you say? Capable? Of looking after myself, Oui?"

"Well, just looking out for you is all." the girl said with a small shake of her head before talking to her friend.

Fluer looked back at the dark skinned boy and raised a delicate eyebrow. So Andrew Potter just randomly attacked a tower full of other students? Practically unprovoked? The same boy who was adamant against this tournament because those who enter it are in constant danger, despite the prize? Something didn't add up here. Fluer loved puzzles and was excited to start putting this one together.
