Last time on Black and White:

"Well then, why did you do it to me?" Su asked looking into his eyes with a stern look.

"Do what to you?"

"Why did you perform Legillimency on me, without my consent?"

Andrew blinked before his eyes widened in shock.

"I'm sorry, I did what?!"

Book 4 – Chapter 28: A Night to Remember

Andrew stared at the girl in front of him in shock. He'd performed Legillimency on her? When? How? He frowned as he thought back trying to figure out when he had done such a thing.

Su seemed to watch his mind race with all the possible moments when he could've scanned her thoughts and sighed slightly.

"Before we came in here." she provided helpfully. "You were staring into my eyes and I suddenly thought back to when you asked me to the ball."

"And you did a little air punch... but I was already around the corner when you did that, so I wouldn't have seen you do it. Meaning... it wasn't my memory of you doing that." Andrew pieced together.

"Exactly, it was my own."

"Holy shit, Su, I'm so sorry, I honestly had no idea..."

The small girl raised her hand to stop his apology.

"I figured during dinner, I've had Occlumency training from my mother, I'm not exactly a skilled artisan at it, but I can keep out at least passive scans, yours though seemed to slip past my defences. Have you been studying it or something?"

"Well, after the events of last year with the dementors, Harry and I have been retraining ourselves in Occlumency, Harry's gotten much better at it, I'm still struggling keeping my shields up to a strong enough level to keep out some probes and we did start learning the basics of Legillimency, so that we could test each other's shields." he told her honestly.

"That could be it, but I just... if you could please, try and be aware of your probes? If you did that to someone more malicious it could be seen as an attack and you could have a duel on your hands or even have to deal the with Aurors."

Andrew nodded. "I'll make sure I keep a tight leash on things. Thanks for telling me." he said with a smile.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I do believe it is time to begin the dances. If the champions could kindly make their way over to the dance floor so that they may open the dances." Dumbledore's voice said washing over the members of the hall.

Andrew and Su each took a calming breath and headed towards the dance floor, they joined the other champions and their dates and stood in front of one another, a nervous smile on their faces.

"So, do you mind if I...?" he gestured to her hip.

Su shook her head amused before grabbing his hand and placing it there.

"Are you ready?" she asked with a smile.

"Let's do this."

The music began and the champions began to move, Hermione and Krum moved gently across the floor smiling at one another. Harry and Fleur were moving at a slower pace, yet still had a graceful glide about them, Andrew assumed his brother was smarter than he was and had gotten lessons way earlier. Cho and Cedric moved like an old married couple to be honest, their movements matched one another, and they seemed to know where the other would be before they moved there.

In contrast Andrew and Su moved as gracefully as they could, the few lessons Andrew had gotten had greatly helped as he had managed to avoid crushing his date's toes but he was still slightly awkward and it showed. Su on the other hand was a master at course correction. Whenever it seemed as though he was about to make the wrong move, she would step in and correct his movements.

"Sorry, I'm horrible at this." Andrew said with a smile of embarrassment.

"No, it's okay... I'm having fun. That's all that matters, right?"

Andrew's eyes widened as her words wormed their way into his brain. All that mattered was that they were having fun, not what others thought of them or their performance.

"You're right, so let's have fun."

When other students and faculty started joining and the need to dance 'beautifully' was over, Andrew lifted Su slightly and began spinning with her slowly, as he heard her giggle in his ear, he couldn't stop the grin which made its way to his face.

The rest of the evening went swimmingly, the Potter brothers even got a chance to sit down with Ron and Lavender for a while, the conversation was fun. Turns out despite her tendency to gossip about any and everything she had a surprisingly insightful outlook on multiple things. Ron seemed to be enjoying himself with her as well.

Harry and Andrew danced with multiple partners as did their dates, though Su opted out of dancing with Krum out of a sense of unity with her date. Finally when the hour got later, Harry opted to walk Fleur to her carriage while Andrew offered to walk Su to Ravenclaw tower.

Harry and Fleur walked in silence for the most part out to the Black Lake where the Beauxbatons carriages were.

"'Arry I find myself razzer curious." Fleur stated while drawing his cloak which he had given her to cover her from the winter chill.

"What about?" the dark haired boy asked as they crunched the snow beneath their feet.

"Your attitude tonight. Your brozzer and 'ermione, both said you were acting razzer out of character."

"Ah, well, I'll be honest with you Fleur."

"I would appreciate nozzing less."

"The girl I asked to be my date turned me down, I know it isn't a very unique thing to be rejected, but I liked this girl for a while now. I don't know, I guess I just hoped she'd give me a shot." he answered with a sad smile.

"Hmm, was zere a reason?"

"Well, yes, but I guess the most obvious one is that she's older than me. So she wants me to date someone around my age, I suppose."

"Oh? But, she can't be too much older, no? What is she in fifth or sixth year?"

Harry simply shook his head.

"A seventh year?"

Again he shook his head.

"Wait she is finished wiz school? 'ow old is she?" Fleur asked her eyes wide in shock.

Harry sighed, "She finished last year, so eighteen now."

Fleur whistled. "I am impressed. But zat still does not explain your attitude."

"Well, when I got her letter, turning me down, I figured I should actually try and forget about her this time around, as such I decided I'd just have fun. So when Andrew set us up, I made a promise to myself that I'd just go with the flow and... yeah."

"Really? Well, I must admit Monsieur Potter, you are quite good at flirting especially if zis was your first proper attempt at it." Fleur laughed, causing Harry to smile. "Oh, 'old still. You 'ave a beetle on your shirt. Odd, a beetle in ze middle of winter. Must be freezing." she said as she stepped closer to the boy and dusted the bug off his shoulder.

Harry was immediately aware of his heartbeat rising, she was really close. He could smell her perfume which still clung to her, even after all the dancing and sweating they had done in the warmer Great Hall. Or was that just her natural smell. He felt his breath hitch when she turned to look at him.

Blue locked onto Emerald, he felt as though she was seeing into his very soul.

"You have really pretty eyes." he told her in a whisper, causing the girl to giggle again.

"I was just about to say ze same zing to you, 'Arry." she responded just as quietly.

Su and Andrew walked through the halls talking about the night and laughing when they remembered something from the night that tickled their funny bone. They had passed more than a few students who tried blending into the shadows and were in engaged in, acts the two students tried to ignore.

Once they passed the eighth couple Andrew shouted at them to get a room. The male responded with; "We would but it's damn impossible to find an empty closet!" Causing the dark skinned boy to laugh out loud.

When they finally arrived at the painting with lead to the Ravenclaw common room Andrew turned to Su.

"Hey, thanks again for coming with me. I'm really glad you said yes."

Su smiled at him. "So am I, and thank you for asking me, for a moment there I was worried I'd have to come alone, or not come at all."

"Well, I'm glad I was able to bring you."

There was a beat of silence where neither one spoke, and simply stared at one another. Once it had passed the ten second mark Andrew saw Su turn to the painting, and provided the answer to the riddle before she turned back to Andrew.

"Hey, Andrew..." she said, seemingly struggling with something.

"Yeah, Su?"

"Do me a favour?"

"Of course."

"Don't freak out about this."

"Freak out about wha-"

He didn't get to finish his question as Su grabbed his tie and pulled him down to her and planted her lips against his. Andrew's mind seemed to blank for a moment, unable to do anything. Before he had a chance to process what was happening, Su pulled away. Her face flushed red and her lips parted slightly.

"That." she answered before quickly pulling the painting aside and stepping in the common room. "Thanks again, I really had fun." she said before closing the painting shut and leaving Andrew behind, his eyes slightly glazed and breathing a tad heavier than before.

"Y-Yeah, no uh, no problem." He answered to no one before turning and making his way back to the Great Hall to get his jacket, before going to the common room, and more than likely taking a cool shower before headed to bed.

Once Andrew collected his jacket and asked around for his brother and Ron and being told that they had left for the common room from Lavender, who did not look happy for some reason, Andrew left the hall and found Hermione sitting on the staircase; shoes off, leaning against the wall and tear tracks on her face. He moved immediately.

"Hey, hey! What happened? Are you okay?"

Hermione sniffed before turning to look at him and in a flash had her arms around his neck as she cried into his shoulder.

"Shh, hey it's okay. Just tell me what's going on, and how I can fix it." he told her as he rubbed soothing circles on her back.

It seemed to calm the girl down enough to relay what happened. Apparently her and Ron had gotten into a small fight; as they did on occasion, which lead to some... unsavoury things being said by the boy. Nothing vulgar, thank goodness. According to Ron, Krum was obviously not interested in her brains as he himself was about as smart as a collection of rocks on the ground. Andrew had to bite the inside of his cheek to not laugh at that description.

Hermione was more upset that Ron had implied that she was too blinded and naïve to see this side of the Bulgarian. Now that annoyed Andrew, Ron should have more faith in Hermione than that. She then explained how Ron had said that the older boy was obviously not all about the 'building of friendships between schools' as she was sure he was. Andrew had to agree with that point to some degree. Hell even Fleur had made some acquaintances and so had Cedric, but not Krum.

"It's okay, hey. I'll talk to Ron okay? We'll get this whole situation sorted out and everything will be right as rain again."

Hermione's sniffling did seem to lessen over time before he pulled away from her and gave her a soft smile.

"Now, how about me and you go to the kitchens and get some hot chocolate and some cookies? I'm sure that'll help."

"You know my parents are dentists and are strict about sugar." she admonished with a watery chuckle.

"Well, I'm not having sugar free Hot Chocolate and Cookies, that just sounds awful. So how about some warm butter beer and cookies?"

Hermione shot Andrew and exasperated look before shaking her head, but the smile that pulled at her lips told the boy that he had accomplished his goals of cheering her up some.

"Herminny. Are you okay?"

Andrew stopped the groan that boiled in the back of his throat.

"Hi, Viktor, yeah I'm fine... Andrew helped."

The Bulgarian shot Andrew a look the boy couldn't decipher but he simply shot him a look in return.

"Really awesome of you to leave your date while she was upset, dude. Truly, grade A stuff right there." Andrew snarked.

"Andrew, he was talking to some of his friends, I didn't want to intrude. It's fine."

"No, it isn't fine. You don't leave your date to go chat with your buddies, when you could do that all day tomorrow. You were saying how my actions showed Hogwarts didn't teach their students respect? Well, at least we now know Durmstrang teaches the honourable tradition of abandoning their dates, real classy place you go to there, Krum."

To be honest Hermione was somewhat expecting the explosion, if she were honest, the animosity between the two champions had been building from the first minute. She had just hoped Andrew would be able to avoid the older boy for the rest of the night, but it seemed as though that would not be the case.

"Andrew, calm down. Just let it go, please."

"Vatch how you speak, boy."

"Viktor stop! Andrew just go up to the common room, we'll talk later."

Hermione turned and saw some students watching the commotion and started getting slightly nervous.

"Call me boy again. I dare you." Andrew's said with a grin, as he stepped closer to Krum.

Hermione saw some Durmstrang students step closer, she also saw some Hogwarts students watching the foreign students.

"And vhat vill you do, if I do?"

"I'll flatten your face more than it already is."

"Andrew, please, please, just stop. Please. Viktor, just walk away." Hermione begged placing a hand on both boys chests in order to stop them from getting closer.

"You are upsetting my date." Krum said with a sneer.

"Well, if you hadn't abandoned her, I wouldn't have been here stopping her from being upset in the first place. It's strange being a better date than the person who asked her to be his." Andrew responded, his eyes wide, grin still in place.

Krum took a step and Hermione decided that was enough and stood between the two. She grabbed Andrew's arm and began dragging him up the staircase.

"We're leaving." she told him. Not asked, not begged but told.

"Yes, I agree wiv Herminny, you must sleepy, it is past your bed time... boy."

Hermione felt Andrew stop mid step and groaned audibly.

"Andrew, we are leaving now."

"What did you call me?"

"I said it is time for bed, bo-"

Krum didn't get to finish his sentence as next thing he knew Andrew had leapt from his step and was flying towards him, his fist raised, a look of absolute rage on his face. Then he felt the fist connect with his nose. The Bulgarian fell back, Hermione blinked and there was suddenly pandemonium as the Hogwarts students mainly from Gryffindor were now engaged in a massive fight with Durmstrang students.

She stood at the top of the stairs and let out a screech of rage before turning and leaving them to their business, she had tried to defuse the situation, but she would not be used as an excuse for them to flex their testosterone at one another. She headed back to the seventh floor and made her way into the common room, finding Neville sitting on the couch and no one else she marched up to the boys dorm and opened the door. None of the other fourth year boys were back yet, except Harry and Ron who were in the toilet and by the sounds of it, one of them was sick.

"Harry!"

"Hermione?!" she heard him called back sounding surprised.

"Your brother's downstairs fighting with Viktor. Most of Gryffindor is also fighting Durmstrang, when he gets back after being properly punished by the professors, you will let Andrew Raymond Potter know that I will not be speaking with him. Am I clear?!"

"Err, Hermione I don't know if I want to be involved with this, I have no idea what happened and-"

"Harry Potter! I said 'am I clear'?!"

"Err, yes Hermione, I hear you loud and clear. And uh... I'll let Andrew know too."

"Thank you! Now Goodnight!"

"Goodni-" he didn't get to finish as Hermione left the dorm and slammed the door shut behind her.

Stupid Potter, stupid Krum, stupid boys, stupid Yule Ball. "Stupid bloody tournament." she wiped the make up from her face and got out of her dress before changing into her more comfortable pajamas and climbed into bed and closed her eyes, content with ending this night as soon as possible.
