Author note: Hello again, I hope the first mission was ok. I know it seems like I was trying to rush it, which I admit I was, it was 9 when I was writing and I am trying to go to sleep. Its hard for me to find a way to mix in gameplay and RWBY commentary, but I guess that fit with the campaign since the Americans are more gameplay wise and the soviets are more story based. Also from now on, Rwby dialogue will be in (parenthesis) and the character dialogue will be in bold to hopefully, not making me think on how to fit it in properly. Well, see you next chapter.

Mission Two: Little Resistance

(Weiss: I just realize something, what was important about that island we were in?) the others look at each other and wonder the same thing. Blake was wondering, why attack a small island that may have no advantage of the battle? (Yang: who knows, they never explain the reason) ruby look at the controller, then at Yang, who she gives the controller to. (Ruby: Yang, I think you should play this one, I have a feeling that this mission is your style) yang look at the controller and decided to give it a shot (Yang: sure, I think you need a break after what you just saw) (Ruby: please don't make me remember) Ruby threw another pillow at her face and resume the game.
"Roebuck: Years after the raid on Makin, we're heading up an all out assault on Peleliu island" (Weiss: really? They are not going to explain the importance of the island and skip a few years?)
"Roebuck: No POW's to rescue this time. . ." (Ruby: Weiss, what does POW mean?) Blake answer her question with a sad tone to her voice (Blake: Prisoners of war)
"Roebuck: our mission: take the airfield and cripple their supply network" the cutscene zoom onto a large ocean with a title above it

MIDWAY JUNE 4TH, 1942

Right below it, there was a carrier, 2 destroyers and some small ships, which cuts to a film of the battle mid fight. The carrier deck exploded into a ball of fire, which the perspective changed by the sound of an aircraft passing by in the eyes of a soldier, which went back to the diagram like visuals in the view of a pilot diving into the destroyer, filling the view in a ball of fire. Team RWBY can only watch as the view zoomed out, showing another battle and date, alongside a window of the carrier primary guns firing to what it might b enemy fire. (Weiss: what's the point of having a giant cannon as a anti-air if what they're shooting at is probably a dot in their eyes) Weiss scoffed a bit as a letter appear again, "Aircraft carriers usually carry 5 inch artillery which serve as artillery and anti-air, the shells themselves have a timed fuse to explode at a certain distance. Also, they have 40 mm cannons and 20 mm for close range and escorts to take them out." (Yang: well that seems useful, shells that can explode a certain distance, oh hey there's a picture on it) they look at the picture and confuse on what they saw until they read what was on it (the picture is a photo of naval anti-air in action) "this photo shows just how difficult it is to not get shot near a carrier. the puffs of smoke are the shells exploding" Yang was looking at the picture amazed while Blake and Weiss were astounded by the air coverage. (Weiss: with that type of coverage, atlas ships can be safe from the Grimm.)

OPERATION WATCHTOWER

GUADACANAL AUGUST 7th, 1942

(Blake: so, instead of telling us the importance of the mission, they are just going to tell what happen in the past years. I guess that's fair, but how many died just to get to that point?)
"Roebuck: Alongside familiar faces, fresh faced recruits."

OPERATION CHERRYBLOSSOM

BOUGAINVILLE NOVEMBER 1st 1943

Yang laugh a bit at the names of the islands (Yang: who came up with these islands name?)
"Roebuck: the older guys like Miller, Sergeant Sullivan and myself, we're known as "the old breed"" the perspective moves again, showing the island they are raiding

OPERATION STALEMATE

PELELIU SEPTEMBER 15th, 1944

A small window next to the title show a ship sending immense firepower, (Yang: aww yeah, the enemy should be scared with that many shell) after that, arrows are pointing at the island, zooming into the island with an explosion at the landing zone,
"Roebuck: "Old". . . We're not even out of our twenties." This shocked the team, they thought they were 26 or 30, but no, they are around their age. (Weiss: They are not in their twenties? That Roebuck guy is a Corporal and he is not even in 20. He is that good to be a corporal?) the film ends, and the screen went black.

The game started with the sound of an engine running and the mission fades in

'Little Resistance'

Sept. 15, 1944

White beach, Peleliu

Pvt. Miller

"Sullivan: Its time"
"Roebuck: Good luck, all of you"
(Ruby: I think they need it, mostly he recruits) (Weiss: they are only recruits and already are being send to a assault) the visual fades in and the info fades out as the squad is on some type of truck in a large ship.
"Roebuck: this is it Miller" the ramp is lowered as Sullivan give the recruits a tip
"Sullivan: Okay. . .keep it together and we'll get through this in 3 days" (Yang: best case scenario, 30 minutes) the truck drives onto the water and starts paddling to the shore, the water was a dark blue, yet the sky isn't a clear blue, but more of a dirtied blue with black smoke near the shore, probably from failed attempts, almost like they weren't the first ones to make the assault. As the music kicks in, giving the atmosphere a victory feeling. (Blake: something about the music makes this, good) (Weiss: It sounds like the type you play after a victory) miller look around and see other crafts like them to the left and right.
"Roebuck: there they go, bastards ain't gonna know what hit them" a squadron of corsair flew by, bombing the defenses as the past by (Ruby: ooo, sis what you think how much explosives they use? 200? 500? 1,000?!) Ruby was shaking yang til she stop her (Yang: I think you should ask Nora for that one)
"Sullivan: Navy's been bombin' the hell out of the island for two days straight" (Ruby: how can anyone survive that?!) (Yang: there should be nothing if they kept firing for two days) (Blake: well, its not like our weapons, they use large projectiles and probably didn't have automatic targeting. Not to mention the wind can drag it off course and miss their target entirely.) Weiss and yang just look at Blake, surprised that Blake knew but Ruby didn't. (Weiss: wow, I was expecting ruby to say that, but wow)
"Sullivan: Miller! We hit any resistance on the beach, you get on that radio and call for immediate missile support" (Weiss: even in their time, they had missiles, shouldn't they had better equipment if they had missiles) (Blake: They're probably unguided, but just seeing them firing at you is a sight to behold)
"Roebuck: don't think twice"
"Sullivan: Roebuck, I want you up the beach and at the treeline asap. You're on point as we move inland"
(Yang: on point?) (Weiss: it means the leading soldier through unsecured territory, they're the ones in the very front and most exposed) (Ruby: I hope he will be ok) out of nowhere, a shell landed near them, creating a column of water to their left and bullets started spraying at their direction from the beach
"U.S Marine: What the hell?!"
"Polonsky, was that one of ours?!"
a shell managed to hit the landing craft to the left of them, killing all who was onboard. Yang kind of moved her head to make it feel like she was with them.
"Roebuck: Fuck. East ridge! There's a 200mm on the point!" the sky was peppered in smoke as the anti-air guns started firing on the corsairs, managing to hit one as it was on fire, barely missing Miller's squad and landing on the right of them.
"Sullivan: stay with it Marine." (Weiss: This is crazy!) (Yang: this is awesome!) a marine yelled out another LVT has been hit, which was not in the character view.
"Sullivan: Everyone! Keep. . . your. . . head. . . down! You hear me!" (Ruby & Yang: loud and clear) they both ducked their heads as Weiss and Blake look at them confused (Yang: it feels like we are in it ok?) "20 seconds" the driver yelled out as he closes the hatch above him. As they get nearer, the shells were starting to get nearer and nearer (Blake: they aren't gonna make it) ruby spotted a tank on land that look like their truck but with a turret on it (Ruby: Weiss look, they have a floating tank) Weiss look at ruby like she said something stupid. (Weiss: that's impossible, its too heavy to be floatable) (Yang: I think the turret has a small cannon) they managed to get on the shore, but they hit something below and got themselves stuck, making it easier for the cannons to close in on them

"Polonsky: Aww, shit" (Weiss: jump out!) (Yang: I can't, it won't let me)
"Sullivan: Driver, drop the ramp! That gun could zero in on us anytime." The LVT that was on the right side of them was shot by the enemy's cannon and exploded next to them, yet all of them stayed on until the ramped drop. A U.S Marine look under the truck and saw the problem
"U.S Marine: It's the coral. We're stuck on the. . ." Before he can finish his sentence, he unfortunately got struck in the head, a nasty bloody hole in and out of his head, by the MG fire, killing him instantly with. The girls were taken back by the soldier quick death. (Weiss: He was just recruited, and he already died?! How can they fight a battle knowing one mistake can end their life?!) ruby was still keeping her head down (Ruby: I thought there was nothing left after a bombardment)
"Sullivan: Drop the ramp!" he tried to signal the driver to drop the ramp, but the driver had already died and a shell managed to land its target, knock all the soldiers off the vehicle. (Yang: they got lucky, an explosion like that will kill them.) a loud ringing was heard when miller got knockback, making the girls cover their ear slightly, except for Blake, who had it worse. Miller's vision was blurry, but he can his allies and the bullets puncturing them through the water, spasming out before going limp in the water (Ruby: actually, that won't happen, with the bullets velocity and size, they should be ok from projectiles since it hitting the water makes it lose all of its velocity, thus not being dangerous) (Blake: good to know, water saves you.) (Weiss: but with all their equipment, they wont be able to swim to the surface without ditching some.

Blake rubbed her ears a bit as Miller regain his vision and was pulled out by Sullivan.
"Sullivan: I got you Miller! You're still in one piece!" (Yang: good to know, I don't want to look like a sponge)
"Sullivan: Plan's gone to shit. . .Tojo's got a defensive line dug in just beyond the treeline." (Weiss: they had two defensives, it may seem like they're wasting supplies, but it's a good strategy, if the front defense was destroyed, they have another behind to keep them at bay)
"Sullivan: We got Heavy MG fire tearing up the beach"
Miller put on a bayonet on his M1 as he get behind cover. (Yang: close and personal, I like it) (Weiss, isn't it useless?) (Ruby: did you forget that they charge at you saying Banzai?) (Yang: we should try that, it may work) (Weiss: we are not doing that!) Blake smiled a bit as she looks at her teammates bickering. Yang went back to the game and a notification pop up. (Yang: press down on the d-pad to radio in a Rocket Strike!) yang press down on the d-pad and miller pull out a radio.
"Sullivan: Call in a rocket strike on those position! Now" Yang aimed the reticle at the target and press fire. The operator called out for a barrage salvo H-E rounds "ON the way!" Yang do nothing, but excitedly watch as the salvo destroyed the beach in front of them, creating lots of smoke but clear enough to see the explosions (Yang: YEA, that is how you make an entrance!) Yang pumped her fist into the air as she moved up to the beach, unfortunately artillery was still raining down on them from somewhere else. (Yang: What the hell?! Where is it coming from?)
"Polonsky: Where's that fire coming from?!" (Yang: Exactly!)
"Sullivan: Don't let them get a fix on you" another notification pops up, saying that rocket strikes can be used on enemy position at will. (Weiss: that doesn't seem very realistic. If we do that, we will just waste supply and risk friendly fire) (Blake: well so far, this game seem pretty realistic to me. They put a lot of attention on small details, but other than that, I don't know why its rated M. It can't be just for the gore.)
"U.S Marine: What the hell went wrong?! There wasn't supposed to be any resistance!"
"Sullivan: The rocket strike should've soften them up"
The beachhead was thrown into chaos as the Marine were confused on what to do in this situation, their best bet is to keep moving and mee up with the sergeant. As Miller met up with the rest of their squad, they went up and over the beach trench, seeing the destruction of the rocket strike. The field of grass was burning into a charred black, the trees have been destroyed. Some japs survive the strike, but was either too weak to fight back, feeling the pain and curled up a bit or tried to crawl away to safety but to no avail.
"Polonsky: Shit. . ."
"Roebuck: Put them down"
Yang wasn't sure what to do, they are gonna die from blood loss anyway, but she doesn't think its right to gun them down. Ruby, Weiss and Blake felt guilty for the pain they suffer, but Yang decided to let them be and continue forward. An MG nest that was dug into a hill started firing at them, making them hid behind cover, Miller got shot a lot of times, turning the screen edges into red, looking like he was one shot away from death, but he healed up in a few seconds. (Ruby: Hey, I thought they don't have semblances.) (Blake: the fan say they had no aura) (Ruby: So how do you explain the instant healing then?) (Weiss: *sighed* it's a video game Ruby, it may seem realistic, but its just the game, I doubt they made a shooting game that makes you look for medkits instead of sitting in one spot for a 3 seconds)
"Polonsky: Burn 'em"
Roebuck order the flamethrower to move up, torching the MG nest. The flames managed to get inside the nest, torching them inside while they scream in agony, ending their life with the bunker exploding. (Ruby: ooooo, that is THE worst way to die.) (Weiss: even that was terrible, I had to say, the flamethrower is actually a good weapon in a scenario like this. You don't have to go inside; you can just use it to "flush them out" as they say.) (Yang: well, at least they will be, "well done") Yang look at her teammates as she earns another pillow to the face. (Yang: *wheeze* worth it.)
"Sullivan: Push through their lines!"
"Roebuck: Flank left! Around the bunker"
Miller push through but Miller was interrupted by a banzai charge. (Yang: not this time) Miller gun the soldier before he managed to reach him. As he walked around the bunker, another MG nest fired upon them. (Ruby: How many do they have?! They haven't made it to the trenches.) (Yang: *Joyful* luckily we have rocket support!) Miller pull out the radio and call for a rocket strike on the enemy bunker, taking fire while aiming the reticle. Yang let out a small whoop and got down before she dies. Miller try to take out the gunner by firing through the opening but managed to miss. The rockets came down on the bunker, with the radio operator securing a target destroyed. The soundtrack kicks in as the enemies began firing from the trenches ahead. The music is was hard to hear from all the guns firing, but Yang and Blake can hear it well, the electric guitar had a heavy metal tune mixed with Violins that gave it the feeling of chaos, Yang was hyped up to kick their ass. (Yang: Alright! Lets do this!) Miller traded his rifle with a submachine gun and charged into the trench, throwing grenades near their cover and shooting any that poked their heads. Funny enough, Ruby and Weiss looked at her with fear that all it takes was music to get her pumped up to crazy.
"Roebuck: they're coming over the wall"
Miller immediately gun down the japs that was over the wall, and dumb enough to Banzai him. (Ruby: U-um, Yang? I think you should slow down a bit) (Yang: aw come on, this way is more funnier) when miller turned the corner, he immediately got shot so many times that he died in 5 seconds. Yang just look at her teammate while they give her a glare (Yang: Ok, I'll take my time.) She scoffed a bit as she respawned back at the entrance of the trench. This time, Yang throw a grenade over the trench into the enemy position, so she doesn't die like last time, once that was done, it was a simple jog out. As they made their way out of the trench however, Miller was shot from out of nowhere, (Yang: Hey, what gives? There's no one here) Blake stare at the grass like someone is there. Miller look around at the tall grass.
"Roebuck: SULLIVAN! The tree!"
The corporal pointed at the tree that was in the middle of the tall grass. Yang look at Ruby and Weiss in confusion, shooting the tree until a Jap fell off the tree, with Roebuck congratulating him. (Weiss: *Surprised* They are in the tress as well?) (Yang: Great now we have to check every tree or else we're dead.) If that wasn't unexpected, when they step into the grass, the japs that were hiding in camouflage got up and bayonet charge at them with a Banzai. Yang didn't move for a second and a Jap manage to get to Miller, slowing the world again. (Yang: Ruby, which button you pressed) (Ruby: *panicked* u-uh, the right stick) Yang quickly pressed down on the right analog and the world resume back to normal time, with miller pushing the bayonet away and stabbing him in the throat, killing the Jap instantly and pushed him out the way. When they thought they were done, another squad of Japs come out of hiding and Banzai them.
"Sullivan: More of 'em"
(Yang: Stop charging us, I have a machinegun it's not a good idea!) Miller killed the charging japs with the type 100. Past the small field of grass was a path to less destructive land, a trench underground and a bunker to the left, when they were interrupted by another Banzai charge from the trench and the Bunker opening fire on their location. (Blake: I don't know if they're stupid or trying to be loyal. This is not how you win wars!) (Weiss: yea I still don't get that. A bayonet charge is useful if everyone else had a bolt-action, but as far as I see, they are the only ones with a bolt action)
"Sullivan: *Pointed at the trench* Get in there. . . See if you can get a flanking a position"
(Yang: nah, lets use the rockets, its much safer) Miller radio for another rocket strike on the enemy bunker. The Rockets came down, one at a time, but does little damage to it. (Ruby: well, guess you gotta now, good luck sis.) Yang sighed as she ran down to the trench, queuing a soundtrack that sounded like a two metals scraping each other at first, giving Blake a bit of a headache and Ruby a tiny eep, then switching to the type of music you hear in movies when the protagonist walks through a jungle where you hear nothing but the sound of footsteps. Miller walked to the entranced and get himself of a surprise by a Jap popping out of the corner and shooting him, which Miller easily take down with the type 100, but was still getting shot at a different direction.
"Roebuck: Miller! We gotta take them by surprise."
(Weiss: Well, thanks for telling us after we were getting shot.) Yang aim down the sight, which Ruby didn't like the way it looks, and killed the Jap that was hiding behind an enclosed space. He was then joined by Roebuck as they shoot their way the underground trench. One soldier wasn't all dead and pulled out a pistol and shot Miller in the back, which ends the japs 30 rounds to his body. Ruby pressed the pause button on the controller and RWB(Y) looks at Yang with a shocked look as Yang look back, (Yang: *Whine* He shot me in the back.) (Weiss: That does not mean clipping all the bullets in the magazine into him!) Yang un paused the game and continue on clearing out the trench. As they were near the exit, team (R)WBY Sighed in annoyance as they heard another Banzai. (Weiss: That's the third one in this mission, you think they will be stealthier by now.) (Ruby: *Giggled* well it is fun to say it) (Yang: it does make you feel invincible.) Weiss turn yang head to the screen as the Japs were running at them from the grass. Yang cursed quietly and start mowing them down, checking if there's any left. When they were not being fired at, Miller ran to the entrance, only to find nothing but two ladders leading to the MG nest.
"Roebuck: Up the ladder" When Miller made it to the top, there was only two MG pointing at the trenches. Roebuck order to clear out the nest, which was surprisingly empty. Looking over the destroyed part of the bunker, there was a mortar pit that was firing presumably at the beachhead.
"Roebuck: Shit! . . . Mortar pit behind us! They've got those squads pinned down!"
"Sullivan: Get on those MG's and tear them up!"
Yang nodded and smirked lightly, she immediately got on the MG and start mowing the japs below, including the truck that just got here. Weiss and Blake were nervous on what they are seeing while Ruby was trying to figure out how the MG function. While miller was mowing them down, Japanese tanks started rolling in, which Sullivan told Miller to call in the rockets. (Weiss: isn't it weird that Miller is doing everything?) (Blake: something for the player to do I guess.) Miller got off the mg and started radioing the rockets on each of the tank's positions. One after one, the tanks were hit and exploded into a ball of flame, with Ruby cheering Yang on. After the final tank exploded, the music from the beginning of the mission began playing as the fighting stopped.
"Roebuck: Good work. . .All of you" (Yang: *smiled lightly* Aw it was nothing)
"Sullivan: Everyone on me." Miller went up to his squad, finally earning them some peace and a break. Yang put down the controller, thinking that was it and just watch.
"Roebuck: What now Sarge?"
"Sullivan: Secure the surrounding area. . . Wait for the Major's orders. . ."
"Polonsky: When do we rest?"
"Sullivan: Soon Polonsky. . . Soon."
Their little break was interrupted by a battle cry, alerting everyone up, Yang quickly picked up the controller and look around. Sullivan went to the door to see what's happening, only to meet his end as the door swung open and a Japanese soldier stabbed him in the gut, then got blasted by Millers Type 100 and a shotgun round. It all happened to fast, by the time Yang open fire, the soldier already stabbed him.
"Roebuck: Sullivan! No. . . Hold on. . . You'll be okay… CORPSMAN!"
It was too late. Sullivan was bleeding badly, he was choking on his own blood and died from the wound. As Roebuck tried his best, the screen fade to black, ending the mission. The team was devastated, they don't know Sullivan that much, but he wanted to make sure they were safe. Ruby look at her teammate with a sadden look, she hoped that it won't happen to them ever.

Closing: Alright, that was mission two, 18 more to go. I hope it was enjoyable, for me, its hard to make it more interesting when the American campaigns were more gameplay based, just cant wait to get to the Soviets.
