Xander not really knowing why he felt so much better just tried to work his way through the world in a few odd jobs and other things he could get his hands on. But being on the road for long periods of time got him time to think. He found his mind less crowded and more organized. So for the times he was on his own he had much time to think. At one point he got to a Church and thought about going in and asking some questions.

But it was raining and the aura around him didn't really seem to be of good nature. Xander saw a man stumble out of the Church he wanted to go in. He saw the man stumble across the streets and fall down caughing. A young boy driving a Taxi called him a few times but then took off in his Taxi being annoyed or just wanting to turn his taxi around. Xander saw as the man was attacked by a Bugman. Flashbacks on Bugman from Sunnydale came to the forefront of his mind. He stayed out of it for safeties sake. He smiled when the man expertly stepped back and let a Truck squash the Bugman. Xander quickly came out of his car and picked up the Ring and followed the Guy to a Bar of somekind. But when he tried to get in he couldn't The Bouncer at the entrance held up a card on which he had to guess something on it. Xander saw the futility in his Endevour and stepped up to the man with a decency distance. The Bouncer relaxed and heard him out.

"Listen I don't know were the other guy is going. But I guess he is going to ask someone about what happened to him. I just wanted to give him this and explain what it was."

He held out the ring of the Assassins and saw the man pale. The Bouncer pulled out a phone and called someone who apparently came out of the door after a few seconds and gestured to Xander to follow him. Xander dutifully came after the guy and was let into a room where the guy and a black man stood and argued. The Man who escorted him stood and waited. The Black man stopped up abruptly and flew around asking his minion.

"WHAT!"

"Sir this young man has something you should know about."

The Black man turned towards Xander and introduced himself: "Hello there young man. I am Papa Midnite. Who are you to have gained entry in my domain without any powers but with valuable info? Out with it."

Xander steeled himself and began: "Hello Papa Midnite. I am Alexander LaVelle Harris apparently also known as the White-Knight. The Guy behind you had a run in with someone I knew once."

Midnite and Constantine looked at each other. White-Knight. That name was known. It was known that he was off the Hellmouth and apparently on Vacation. Midnite looked concerned: "The White-Knight here? Speak clearly young man."

"Okay here goes. The Guy once went under the name Norman Pfister. Assassin from the Order of Taraka. His former Form was that off thousand worms. But he could hide his face and look like a human. This one couldn't. Here is the Ring."

Xander threw the Ring towards Midnite who caught it and turned it over in his Hands a few times. Midnite looked over to Constantine and said: "Well it seems that my neutrality is going to kick me in my ass sooner rather than my preferred never. But this ring here is going to attract all kinds of evil."

Xander interrupted: "Not if I can make a call first."

Midnite pointed towards a Phone without hesitation. Xander went over and rummaged around his pockets for a little black book. He found the phone Number and remembered the Dream he did have once during a meditation.

Flashback …

Xander was sure he was dreaming. Because Sunnydale Library was far behind him. Sure he had to get back there. But not for a few more weeks. Suddenly a dark gloom lowered over the Library and Mayor McSnake came slithering out between the Stacks changing into the Mayor.

"Greetings there young man. You surely have some powerful protectors. But so do I."

"Curse?"

"Right you are. But since I always put a little of myself behind everything I do it was inevitable with your swamp as a brain."

"Yeah I hear you. Do you guys reserve room in advance?"

Mayor Wilkins chuckled: "Not really. But you are far better protected than the rest of your little gang. That along with your already legendary stubbornness is what catches us in here. You are impossible to take over without you actually giving in your own free will. I of course knew that and put the famous Chinese Curse over you."

"May you live in interesting times."

"Correct. But tell me what is going on out there? Besides you being on Vacation?"

"Well, Faith is in Jail because of Wolfram and Hart."

"What! … Those twotimers. I had a contract with them stating they should defend her."

"Well they broke that one thoroughly."

"Could you do me one favour?"

"You can ask but I may get my own info."

"As you should. Call the Order of Taraka and tell them that Wolfram and Hart broke a Contract. I have a longterm paid in advance Contract with them. They should be able to do something to atleast hurt those bastards."

"I will ask around and do as you wish."

"Thank you young man. Now off with you. I have things to discover in here."

End Flashback …

Xander paused over the Phone and asked: "Does one of you know something about the company Wolfram and Hart?"

It was Constantine who answered: "What ever you have heard of them forget it. They are as bad as they come. Was it them you wanted to call?"

Xander smiled shook his head and dialed an oversees number from his book. Midnite wanted to push the speaker button but refrained. But the one sided conversation was enough for him to piece together the whole deal.

"Hello, Alexander LaValle Harris here."

"Yes that Alexander, I have info from the late Mayor Richard Wilkins."

"Yes they don't get much deader. But he had a longterm paid in advanced contract with you guys. Wolfram and Hart broke the contract they had with Mayor Wilkins."

"Confirm at your own pace."

"Understood. By the way I have three rings on my person. I could leave them somewhere where you could find them or pick them up."

"No the last one of those are in the Hands of the Watchers Council. I picked one up here."

"No the proprietor of this Establishment has nothing to do with it. With my luck working on full I witnessed the altercation. It was a fair fight. But Norman didn't take it well."

"Yes Sir. I have the three rings on my possession."

"Young Lady by the Name of Lust in the upper portion of the bar by the pooltable. She will know by the time I come up. Understood. Happy hunting according to Mayor Wilkins Contract."

"Thanks I will. Goodbye."

Hanging up he turned around to the two gaping men. He shrugged and said: "I have had a run in with them before."

Turning directly to Constantine he said: "Whatever you are up to take care. Someone powerful is apparently after your ass."

Constantine smiled friendly and nodded. Midnite signaled by the open door to one of his Bouncers: "Bring the young man up to the upper Portion of the Bar. Make sure nothing happens to him. As soon as he drives away come back down here. I need you for something."

When Xander left with the Bouncer Midnite turned to Constantine and said: "You are in deep shit if the Order of Taraka is after you. Come on we have a lot of work to do."

Xander walked after the Bouncer and turned toward the Pooltable and found the Lady in Question. He came up to her and said: "Lady Lust I presume?"

"Sure are sugar. Wanna Dance afterwards?"

"No thank you. You have your hands full with everyone here. But here you go. For you Bosses. Have fun."

With that Xander reached into his inner pocket and pulled out all three rings handing them to Lady Lust. She took them and pocketed them while saying with a smile: "Well thank you Sugar. I will definitely have fun here."

Xander left the bar and vanished in his car away from here. He knew that something wasn't right. He was supposed to be further east from the world he left behind. But now he was further south.

His answer came in the form of a few flashes and a change of scenery. He was now where he was supposed to be. Right on his way towards New York.
