.:Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life):.
I walked lazily down the street, without any real hope or knowledge of where I was going. Just kept following the sidewalk, in hopes of finding the street I lived on. Maybe this wasn't the best way to go after walking Pence home…
"Fricken-ay…" I lightly scoffed, reaching into my pocket and grabbing the blue iPod mini from my pocket in an attempt to turn it back on again. Stupid Apple and their defective batteries.
Ugh, this thing pissed me off in the worst way. I adjusted the earphone in my left ear and FINALLY got to the menu screen. I only stopped, and leaned up against the wall, and flicked through the menus, until I just decided to shuffle 'em.
I only had to wait a moment before I stopped skipping around on the shuffled list. The tune started out with a missed chord, after a second missed chord there was a slight Fuck from the lead singer, and he finally gets the right chords into the song.
Another
turning point, a fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the
wrist, directs you where to go
I leaned my head back onto the brick wall and listened to the acoustic guitar in the background, wondering how Hayner could play the chords and I always screwed it up. He probably got them off guitartabb or something. Dirty cheater.
So
make the best of this test, and don't ask why
It's not a question,
but a lesson learned in time
"It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right. I hope you had the time of your life…" I heard the words dribble off my lips and I looked up at the sky and watched a dizzy bee buzz by…I was deathly afraid of bees.
So
take the photographs, and still frames in your mind
Hang it on a
shelf in good health and good time
I squirmed around and moved away from it until it flew away. I took a deep sigh and looked around to find no one giving me odd looks, so I decided it was time to move on and try to get home again.
Tattoos
of memories and dead skin on trial
For what it's worth it was
worth all the while
I hummed along to the chords, and when I finally did reach an inhabited place I ignored the quizzical glances I got from just humming my way down the street.
It's
something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had
the time of your life
It's
something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had
the time of your life
It's
something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you
had-
Alarming me, the music had suddenly stopped playing, and I pulled out the player to find the low battery sign appear and the whole screen go blank.
"MOTHER-"
-End-
