A/N: thanks Morbious 20 for betaing this chapter!
December…
The light snow of Japan parted with each step, each vault. Two figures darted across the rooftops of buildings, their figures shadowed by the dead of night.
"Midoriya!" Koichi roared out as they flew over the rooftops, Izuku frowned due to Koichi not using his code name but ignored it.
"I'm going to tell you this once so listen up alright? The group we're going after are quirk traffickers, they're involved in the export business." Izuku was running next to his mentor, his eyes narrowing.
"D-damnit, how much of this underground stuff still goes on? And around Christmas as well, kids should be with their family on Christmas..." Izuku grumbled as he soared through the air.
"That they should, but a lot of messed up stuff happens, more than you can imagine. I used to be just like you, I didn't know about any of it, but when I did learn I just couldn't sit back and watch. My master taught me better than that, these guys are real crooks, and if the heroes can't get'em..." Koichi said with a slightly angered tone, Izuku nodded before finishing the sentence, "Then we have to pick up the slack, right?"
Koichi nodded wordlessly, "From what I've gathered, the boss is a big guy, big pink muscles all over 'cause of his quirk, he's the brawler type of villain but he doesn't seem that intelligent from my recon… But we shouldn't underestimate him, especially since this is your first time out here." Koichi explained as he slid across a wall.
"G-gotcha, I've gone against brawlers before so..." Izuku nodded to himself, his spider-sense allowed him to perform techniques and dodges he wouldn't otherwise be capable of, it gave him a confidence he'd otherwise lack. Despite that, he still shivered in anxiety.
"Right, and Izuku."
"Yes Sensei?"
"Do you trust me completely, be honest…"
Izuku didn't speak for a second or three, "... no, I don't trust you completely, I trust you're a good person and a good fighter but it's too early to trust someone, even if I desperately want to."
Surprisingly, the Slide and glide user was pleased. "Goodie, ya don't want to trust someone just 'cause they help ya, I made that mistake when I was a rookie too, too naive haha." The Crawler had that certain carefree nature, Izuku wished he was like that, it reminded him in some ways of how nonchalantly careless Cellophane was…
He narrowed his eyes, "Yeah I see what you mean, you did let a stranger into your house after all." The Crawler sputtered mid-air, his repulsors stuttering.
"Hey! You think I'd let a stranger in my house unless I knew I could whoop em?" Izuku chuckled, of course he could, even if Izuku had his powers his combat experience against actual combatants was lacking.
"Right right." Izuku stopped, noticing The Crawler decreasing his speed to a mere jog.
"Heads up, scout out that courtyard, stay low and stick over on that building until I give the word, we'll talk through our earpieces." After pointing out a building, The Crawler jetted off closer to the courtyard that was slowly becoming more and more clear.
"Don't move until I give the word, we have more than one bad guy." Izuku nodded, his eyes surveying the scene. The courtyard was dark and out of the way, in a less populated part of Tokyo. Three trucks with containers on the backs of them littered around the courtyard, he could only imagine what was going on down there…
Standing on a perch, his matt black vigilante outfit let him blend into the darkened sky. Koichi jumped, his blue repulsors slowing his fall.
Sliding as soon as he touched the ground, the slide and glide quirk user positioned himself behind one of the trucks in a quick movement. Just close enough that he could hear whatever these crooks were saying, they weren't exactly being discrete.
'Surprised how none of the heroes tracked this guy yet… sheesh the quality of our heroes really is declining.' The vigilante fingered his earpiece.
"Yo, you ready." He asked nonchalantly.
"...Yes sir! I mean sensei! I'm ready!"
Koichi chuckled, his face becoming more serious when he heard banging noises.
"Shut up in there! Bitch and moan all you want when you're out of our hands." Said a man with a sniveling voice. Koichi peeked around the front of the tire, his eyes spotting an average sized man with black electricity brimming in his eyes.
"Don't bother, kids always make a fucking ruckus, no idea why he wants them so bad." Another villain spoke from out of his view, a woman by pitch.
"Hey Headgear!" The electric villain yelled out to a figure, it looked like a large clump of pink muscle tissue standing a distance away. The humongous mass of muscle turned whirling around, his face contorting into rage.
A first crashed against the ground, cracking the concrete. "Wha' I say about botherin me on the job???" The electric villain gulped, turning away from his enraged leader.
"Sheesh man, I just wanted to know why these kids are so special." Electric spoke, with an edge in his voice.
"You're new, just don't ask questions, the last time someone annoyed Headgear too badly he put them in a coma, the damn brute. It doesn't matter why we have to babysit these brats, Detnerat wants them and we do not fall short, ever." Wait…
Koichi moved back to behind the tire, his eyes wide open. 'Detnerat? The hero support company? This is bad, what the hell is going on in this country anymore?' He was disgusted, what could they want with children? Their quirks were valuable to traders but a support company? Something wasn't adding up, his heart raced when he heard voices rising inside the truck near his position.
"Hey!" Footsteps came near.
Izuku rattled against the wall, his nerves shooting a chill down his spine.
'Stay calm Midoriya, just stay calm. You're strong, you've fought before, you can handle this, you're an adult now, you can't be afraid.' but oh he was, so very scared. Not just fighting villains, real villains. No he was scared because what if he hurt someone too much? What if he couldn't control his awesome strength? He hurt Cellophane to the point of injury with a single punch, and he held back then, drastically so.
His earpiece buzzed into life, "Right, it's time, get ready Mid- crap." Izuku leapt into action before the transmission even finished, his heart pounding and his nerves buzzing.
'This is it.'
'No going back now.'
The top of the truck rumbled as Izuku landed, "Hey! What was that!" The electric villain cried out.
"Hey bud!" The electric villain whirled around only to feel two hands pressed against his abdomen. "Goodnight, sorry!" A bright blue light emanated from his palms.
Boom!
The electric villain shot through the air, tumbling across the concrete ground as consciousness ebbed away.
"What the hell?" The female villain was tall and lanky, her hair spiky and grey obviously a quirk.
Spike-hair looked around for an assailant, "Boss! Electric is down, he got defeated by-" the next second, a blast of solid energy passed by her, the graceful athleticism of her dodge showed off in a small flip.
"Oh! The Cruller, wonderful and here I thought we were in danger." The woman giggled as the vigilante came into view, his eyes narrowing slightly before he fingered his earpiece.
"Get those kids out of there."
"Child trafficking huh..." Izuku nodded from his perch, standing to his full height and cocking his fist back into the air and behind his head.
Crack!
His fist penetrated through the roof of the container, the chorus of screams coming from the children inside, about a dozen of them of all shapes and sizes, some barely younger than him during middle school. As he pried the ceiling open with his arms, Izuku heard the whimpering and talking increase ten fold.
"Who's that?"
"A hero?"
"Heksh, no way! I've studied heroes and that losther is not one of them!"
"You've seen every hero in Japan Shubo? Bullshit."
"No mean words!"
"K-keep calm guys… erm, crap how would a hero say this…" Izuku didn't have time to say anything further, his spider-sense blaring in warning.
"Back off my property punk!"
"Woah!"
Flipping onto the concrete below, Izuku watched as another chunk of cement soared towards him, this time, he caught it and tossed it back at the assailant. "That wasn't very nice…" he turned to see a commotion behind him, swinging above and out of view.
The Crawler was battling with the female villain, her hair violently shooting out grey stone spikes in rapid succession. The Crawler was barely managing to dodge all the incoming projectiles.
"Alright! Enough." Koichi placed his hands out, cupping the air and forming an energy bubble. The spikes in her hair ceased firing for a second, confusing Koichi.
"Sensei! She can regenerate her hair overtime! She clearly can't fire any more spikes, this is your shot!" Izuku roared from above, his observation of the fight from a bird's eye view called for it.
"Really? Cool!"
"And if my guess is correct, the regeneration won't be indefinite! It requires a lot of energy to regenerate cells that quickly so she'll tire out quickly!"
"You didn't tell me you could analyze quirks!"
"I haven't for 3 years!"
"Why not! It's a great ability!" Koichi yelped as a spike narrowly soared over his head.
…
'Really?'
A brick soaring at him broke him out of his thought process, the giant pink monster of a man known simply as Habit Headgear glaring up at him; "You little punk, focus on me and don't touch my stuff again!" Izuku gave him a look that signaled his disgust, his thoughts forgotten for now.
"T-those are children you freak!"
"So it's okay when parents enslave their kids but not me? how's an honest child trafficker supposed to make'a livin? Who are you anyways, just some wannabe hero loser."
Izuku almost missed his web, swinging over the pink skinned villain. "Y-you…" he slid to a stop and landed in front of the villain, his tiny frame in comparison made him gulp.
"You're not very good at talking trash huh? Well!" He crouched onto his feet, "LET'S SEE HOW WELL YOU CAN FIGHT THEN PUNK!" The gargantuan man lurched forward at high speeds even for his size, Izuku prepared to block.
Slam!
…
Izuku hadn't moved an inch.
Eyes closed behind his raised forearms, Izuku slowly realized he had not moved. The sight of the struggling veiny arm vibrating against his block filled him with a sense of confidence.
"That's all you got?" He felt a smirk appear on his face.
"Die scum!" Another massive fist flew past his head, the wind pressure from the attack rolling over his body harmlessly.
"Having fun yet!" He heard the yell of his new found mentor, his voice slightly strained and cascading over to him.
"Er, SURE!" He flipped over the pink muscle mound, attacking his extended trapezius with a meaty kick only to deal little damage.
Sliding to a stop, 'He's not that strong or fast… but he's tough.' Izuku thought, his analytical mind whirring into action.
Spider-sense warning him, he dodged a stone hair spike that barely grazed his makeshift costume, green eyes blurring over to the other two combatants.
"Watch the spikes! This hoodie was expensive, lady!" Koichi seethed, his body floating in mid air for a second before he launched himself forth. Latching his fingers around the female villain's upper body, Koichi used physics to his advantage. As he flew over her, the slide and glide user dragged her along before releasing his grip and sending her flying and tumbling. She finally landed next to a lamppost and skidded to a stop, her green eyes raging for a single second.
Koichi did not waste any time, blue light emanating from his soles, his body vibrating as he cocked a fist back and bent his knees ever so slightly. Like a coil winding up or boxing spring cocking, the vigilante whirred with energy.
And so, he released it.
Shooting forth in a blue streak, Koichi planted a fist across her jaw. A tooth coated in red substance flew off into the distance as her head rolled back into the air, and then her body followed.
"Heh, one down!" He whistled and blew the dust off his knuckles. "You guys are lucky my master isn't here, he'd brutalize you for messing with little kids!" He hopped on all fours, his quirk activating and shooting him forwards quickly.
He stopped a few short feet away, an idea coming to mind. "I'll leave that hulking freak to you! I'll get the kids, do your best!" He cheered out, turning around and sliding off towards the containers.
Izuku grunted, "are… are you serious right now??" He turned for a small microsecond, the only thing saving him from a blow to the head, due to his inexperienced move, being his omniscient spider-sense.
Izuku quickly turned when he felt a disturbance, his eyes widening. Quickly, he bent backwards as a huge gargantuan pink fist barely grazed past his nose and eyes.
He landed on his back, shocked. "Eat this PUNK!" A combat boot rocketed down, only to hit and splinter concrete as Izuku rolled back onto his upper back and hands and shot himself into the air.
"Too slow!" Izuku called out, taking pleasure at the growing rage from his opponent. It was cathartic, the more he fought, the more he battled, the more adrenaline flooded through his body…
The more he felt like nothing could stop him.
"Y-You know if you were as strong as you were durable you'd actually hurt a lot more, shame isn't it?" Izuku's jape leapt out of his mouth, sarcasm dripping from every word.
The anger he held for this villain aside, it felt liberating to do justice behind a mask, he wasn't Midoriya Izuku anymore…
Izuku watched as the shirtless villain fumed, his skin turning from a soft pink into an angry red. Steam came off his body, "I've had enough of you, brat!" He pulled out a syringe of purple fluid from his pocket, it's odd ephemeral glow sending shivers down his spine.
"I-is that…" he'd heard of drugs, drugs used to enhance the performance of quirks.
"AHAHAHA! Sure is! Are you scared or something punk?" He slowly injected the liquid into his neck, "Where there is demand there is supply, ever been to Somalia? Trigger never died there, never will, I got my hands on it easy." The villain laughed darkly as his body began to contract and contort, his muscles breaking apart and pulling. His skin turned from pink to a dark purple, and a small blue flame began to emit from underneath his traps. Growing larger, his frame almost doubled in size from a nine foot height to a 15 foot monster.
Izuku was shaken to his core, every bedtime story and nighttime news report about trigger being a terrible drug coming back all at once. It physically transformed your body, made you stronger, but also caused you to lose control and become beast-like.
And beast-like was the only word he could use to describe this… abomination of purple muscle tissue and glowing blue veins.
The slobbering man looked unfocused, his eyes seemed to have the sentience of common livestock. One second they burned normally, and the next they burned bright. They locked onto his form, tiny in comparison, he didn't even come up to the villains knees anymore.
Taking one step back, Izuku felt his spider-sense tingling like never before. Like a flicker, he'd never even seen it coming, his fear sticking him to the floor. His breath escaped him.
And then, a fist was directly in front of his body.
Koichi was surrounded by 36 or so kids of different ages and sizes, all of them scared silly.
"Alright, alright little ones, I've called the police to a small convenience store down the street, go there and they'll help you okay? Hurr-" Koichi widened his eyes as he heard a whistling noise, the body of Izuku cascading through the air at high speeds.
Crash!
Koichi whirled around to see Izuku indented into a wall, coughing up blood into his mask, staining it dark red. The screams of the children running away drowned out his heartbeat, Koichi quickly propelled himself over to the wall and stopped right next to his trainee who'd curled into a fetal position and began shaking.
"I-it h-hurts K-K-Koichi…!" His shakey words, his short breaths, the wind must've been completely knocked out of him and he could barely breathe, probably the hardest he'd ever been hit.
"Crap! What happened, Midoriya what happened-"
"ROARRRRRRRR!"
Koichi froze, he'd heard something like that before. Many times in the past, many many times.
The roar of a trigger user.
Koichi's eyes flashed blue, his adrenaline levels spiking up incredibly in preparation for an actual battle. He'd have to use everything he had for this one, he just knew it instinctually.
He landed with a crash, his body on all fours. "Well big guy! You and me right now, let's go!" His taunts were intentional.
Standing up, he puffed up his chest and made an aggression display by slapping his pectorals. The now simple minded villain would only respond to such things now, his brain matter ceasing to function normally. The giant purple mass of muscle roared once more, and with a mighty heave it shot forwards.
Koichi had already slipped into a stance, an oddly crafted position that emulated karate and jeet kune doe.
He relaxed himself, relaxed his mind. 'If I time this right, I should be able to… It's taken years to get this down but… now's the time to really see what it can do!'
His eyes shot open as the meaty purple fist contacted against his palm, letting out a roar.
"PARRY STYLE!"
Like a bolt of lighting, a sharp crash sounded out through the courtyard with a flash of blue light. The Crawler remained still as a statue, his palm smoking against the much larger fist, a fist dwarfing his entire torso. He stood unflinching, his stance was solid as stone. Headgear pulled back another fist, his feet cracking the concrete along the trajectory of his blow.
Koichi smirked, another fist landing harmlessly against his guard, and then another and then another, a blue flash of light coloring the entire courtyard each time.
'Using my quirk, I can propel anything away from my palms! If I time it properly… I can simply redirect the kinetic energy of any blow!'
Sweat appeared on his forehead as he blocked more and more strikes, each one kicking up more and more wind around them without ever budging the vigilante, 'But… I can't do it indefinitely, I'm not used to it and one wrong move could land me in the hospital!'
He parried another blow and quickly slid backwards, his wrist burning hot with pain. 'Damnit!' he'd mistimed.
He quickly glided away, narrowly avoiding a punch that splintered the concrete below, firing a blast of compressed energy that dispersed harmlessly against his opponent's trigger enhanced body. "Damnit, this guy is a grade above my usual fire power!" Koichi made a sharp turn under one of the containers, yelping as the trigger-enhanced villain crashed into it and sent him flying, along with the container, across their battleground.
Koichi shot himself forward with his quirk instinctually, latching against a wall and inverting the polarity of his quirk. His urgent brown eyes shooting up as the container shot towards him, "crap!" He urgently shot out a flattened palm just as the container was about to connect, barely managing to stop it in its tracks. Landing with a thud, the veteran vigilante let out a sigh, his relief was short lived.
"WOAH!" A purple fist flew towards him, the vigilante had to slide up higher on the wall to dodge it but the force from the blow splintered his perch and crumbled the wall entirely.
Flying into the air using his feet as repulsors, "Gonna have to be quicker than that, fatso!" He shot a series of concussive blasts from his right palm, weaving between heavy blows and thrown projectiles.
"S-s-stay still!" The beast slurred out, his voice reverberating.
"Not happening!"
Breathing heavily, Koichi shot himself high into the air. Everything he tried didn't seem to slow Headgear down in the slightest, even his 'shooty go blam' attacks at full power did nothing.
"I'm going to have to use it… but I only have ten shots, I'll have to make them count!" He grunted out, his body flexing in mid air as steam began pouring off him.
"THE CRAWLER: KNUCKLE STYLE!"
His warcry didn't go unheard, police sirens were roaring in the background as he shot towards the hulking trigger user. Rings of white blue energy formed around and coated each of his knuckles, his fists began to burn with energy as he shot towards the Earth like a meteorite entering through its atmosphere.
"FIRST KNUCKLE: POW!"
Like a gunshot sounding out, Koichi used the full force of his quirk and coated his knuckles with it, allocating all that energy and force into a small point combined with the force of a punch. Doing so yielded massive results.
The vigilante could feel the beast's meaty face wrap and fold around his fist, the loud sound of bone cracking reverberating throughout the courtyard and beyond. The blow knocked Headgear to the ground with a large thud.
Koichi landed, his fist smoking and one ring dissipating. "Was… That enough?" His hope was short lived, the trigger enhanced villain getting up and shaking his head, Headgear was completely undamaged.
"Of course…" Koichi returned to a combat stance, his quirk activating on his soles and along the vigilante's knuckles twice fold, burning brightly with energy comparable to a ton or two of TNT.
"Come on then! Let's dance!"
Izuku finally regained his breath, taking a sharp inhale as he shot up and clutched his chest.
"Crawler-sensei!" Izuku looked all around in shock, his breathing still ragged. He stood instantly, his body going lax at the sight of the battle before him, blows being shared and dodged between two immensely powerful beings in their own right.
"SEVENTH KNUCKLE: CRASH!"
Izuku felt the shockwave of that blow, it reminded him of the time Koichi knocked him back with a strong punch, but that was mere child's play compared to what he was seeing just now. The gigantic villain was sent sprawling into a roll, his large hands digging into the ground to stabilize himself.
"GRAHHHHHHH!" Blue veins lit up energetically as the beast charged again, each footfall cracking the pavement.
Izuku stood there, his mouth tasting like copper as the pain of the blow still rattled throughout and invoked crushing pain. still as a statue and terrified, his body wouldn't move.
"I can't…"
'What do you mean you can't?'
"I can't do it, I can't do this!" He took a shaky step back.
'You idiot, you already let one hero down! YOU WANT TO DO IT AGAIN?' His consciousness roared at him to stand. his. ground.
"NO!" He roared out, closing his eyes tightly and keeling over.
'Then get up! This is your last chance to make up for it, for letting him die!'
"I'm… I'm…." He was afraid, afraid of being hurt, of dying, of being forgotten, of Melissa, his mother's, even David's face when they lowered him into a casket, when that punch landed he felt the proverbial soul get knocked out of him, he saw flashes of his life.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" Izuku felt his blood run even colder.
Koichi was on his last leg, using his quirk to hold back the crushing force of a gigantic boot, "Whatever you're thinking right now! You need to forget it! You knew what you signed up for when you stopped that bus!" Izuku saw himself in Koichi's brown eyes, his cowardly self shaking in the corner while his newly found mentor fought without reprieve against an enemy so large and powerful.
"This guy is too tough for me to take down on my own!" Izuku remembered what he and Koichi agreed his code name would be.
"I NEED YOU TO FIGHT, SPIDER-MAN!"
Izuku's heart skipped a beat, his cold fingers clenching as a breath slowly exhaled from his mouth, the world slowing to a stop.
'THAT'S RIGHT. Right now, I am NOT Midoriya Izuku anymore!'
'I AM, SPIDER-MAN!'
Koichi shot up into the air, pulling back each finger. The last three rings of blue light combine into a gauntlet around his left arm.
"10TH KNUCKLE: SMAAAAAAAAAAASSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
The combined force of three detonations combined into one crashed into the trigger enhanced villain, searing its flesh and causing muscle to tear apart before landing solidly.
BOOM!
And yet… the beast got up again, "Dammit… I'm out of shots…" Koichi muttered, his left arm hanging loosely to the side after the blow.
Izuku clenched his fist from afar, "All my life I've been running, running at the first hint of discomfort, I even ran away from Katsuki and I swore to never do so again… But more importantly, I've been running from myself." Izuku narrowed his eyes, standing up tall with the vacant destroyed battleground in front of him, standing tall with shaking knees, the lights of blue and red flashing in the sky drawing ever closer.
"You didn't tell me you could analyze quirks!"
"I haven't for three years!"
"Why not, it's a great ability!"
Those simple words.
Those words had never been uttered to him before, not once in his life. Not by his Mom, not by Melissa, not by David, his analysis of quirks was something he found irrelevant ever since middle school, when Katsuki used his analysis journal to roast Marshmallows in the school courtyard.
He'd forgotten a vital aspect of himself hidden away for so long, locked away inside of him out of fear of being judged. Afraid to be himself, to truly embrace what it meant to be Midoriya Izuku. And so he ran away.
"But…" He pulled his hand into an even tighter fist.
"I'M NOT RUNNING ANYMORE!"
"Damnit…" His left arm was shot, the force from using three knuckles at once was too much even for him. The trigger enhanced villain got up again, it seemed nothing could get through his hide of thick muscle.
'I haven't had this much trouble since Garaki… None of this would be happening if I just took him out first, I thought it would be a good test but… I never realized trigger was around in Japan still, I personally tried to destroy it myself… and here it is again.' Koichi contemplated his past, his gasps of sharp breaths showing just how tired he was.
Beating its chest, the what could only be called a creature at this point roared to the moon lit sky, clouds casting shadows across the earth that elicited despair.
But… in that sky, was a figure that inspired hope.
Koichi felt the weight lift off his shoulders, "Go kid! Go Spider-man!" He roared with all his guttural energy, watching as two strings of webbing shot down right over the gigantic villain. Izuku PULLED with all his strength! Shooting out his legs, he whistled through the air like a spear. With a sound like the crack of a whip or the shot of a gun, two soles indented into Headgear's face, time pausing for a moment as if reality was attempting to digest the force behind the blow.
CRACK!
Headgear scraped across the ground at such high speeds that he splintered the ground below, the gigantic body tearing through the concrete and shattering through a shipping container before landing in a heap of rubble.
Izuku landed, his breaths coming out with labored effort, his eyes burned a solid green and his fists clenched at his sides, ready to spring at any moment. "You're right Sensei, I signed up for this… And even though I'm terrified, so scared that I might puke…" Izuku turned to his new found mentor.
"My legs couldn't help but move on their own to save you!"
Koichi was stunned, this kid… No older than he was when he first started… had knocked down a villain who took several knuckle's, to the face and still stood! Able to see his eyes, Koichi saw something… Something new, not the desire to protect, not the desire to save, but…
The desire to win.
Izuku bent his knees and roared a mighty warcry into the air to psyche himself up, "Just…! Leave it to me now Sensei!" Izuku asked, his muscles stressing against his clothing and threatening to burst. He grunted and took the posture of a boxer as the beast got up and began it's angered charge, Izuku's fists came up around his head.
'I've been holding back…'
'Afraid of attacking another human with my full strength...'
'but now I'm not so sure…'
'and that thing is not human!'
Izuku's mind, fully unleashed once again, began to compute every action, every weakness. The hulking villain's charge could be seen akin to a snail's pace.
'He's slower due to all that muscle mass, I just couldn't move from fear the first time he hit…'
'His legs are less protected than his upper body…'
'He would have issues reaching behind his back due to the excessive muscle growth there…'
Izuku analyzed his opponent while his spider-sense slowed the world around him, something he employed to make split second decisions easier.
'Attack the legs!' Izuku shot two lines of webbing that wrapped around the giant's meaty legs, tripping Headgear almost immediately. As the villain soared through the air, Izuku leapt into the sky with a front flip before shooting out a muscular leg imbued with violence, soles crashing down, Izuku knocked the gigantic being into the concrete with a colossal blow of force, cracking it and sending the creature skidding once more.
But this time Izuku followed up, using the web from his wrists to follow the purple skinned villain, and with each blow he lost more and more restraint, letting loose more and more strength as he barraged the monster with attacks from all sides, dodging, shooting webs, and landing blow after blow.
Izuku flipped off the creature and used a building to swing over it before dropping onto its back, the villain desperately trying to claw him off to no avail. Jumping into the air, the vigilante flicked his wrists out downwards and connected a web line to his opponent, pulling with all his might.
Shooting like a bullet, Izuku crashed down atop the villain, feet first, the villain fell to his knees and the vigilante stuck his palms and feet onto the purple muscle's in order to keep his leverage.
"Stay! Down!" Izuku slammed a fist down, his super enhanced blow crushing the villain back to its knees when it tried to get up, desperately clawing at the web slinging vigilante in order to get him off to no avail.
Climbing all over, Izuku used his webs to wrap around the villain like a spider would its prey. Repeatedly bludgeoning it, the darkened purple spots appearing on the villain's skin showed how bruised it was getting, and how powerful Izuku was.
He swung around the villain at high speeds, using his insane innate reflexes and agility to attack from every angle, the onslaught was akin to a thunderstorm with the sound of crashing blows occurring thrice every second.
'His fighting style changed, he's acting on pure instinct!' Koichi realized from afar, his left arm hanging limply at his side.
Ceasing his onslaught, Izuku felt 5 fingers wrap around his body and squeeze, the villain had finally caught him in his clutches, tossing him away and through the air at high speeds. Izuku landed against a wall, his soles sticking with a loud thump.
"I just gotta keep moving, keep out of his reach!" Izuku leapt into the air once more, his instincts roaring at him to finish it quickly. Eager to win, eager to prove himself.
Only to be intercepted by a lamppost.
CRACK!
Izuku felt his vision blur as he flew through the air, the cold icy winter wind scathing against his back as he tumbled across rooftops, snow sticking to his clothing. Regaining his senses, Izuku grunted in pain before angling his wrists.
Thwip!
Izuku pulled on his web lines, stretching them several times over until his momentum ceased for a small second. In the middle of the skyline, Izuku drew the looks of several police officers, from where they stood helping the freed children.
Instantly, Izuku shot back through the air at blistering speeds, using his webs as a slingshot.
'It hurts… But not as much!' Izuku spun several times in mid air, soaring right above the trigger enhanced villain in a show of acrobatics.
Cocking a fist back towards the sky, Izuku shot out his left wrist down towards the villain and attached a web to It's head.
"ROTATIONAL ENERGY!"
Izuku spun, his muscles tearing through the air without leverage, shooting down a line of web that attached to the villian. Muscles ROARED, he twisted his abdomen, spinning along the line of his web and rocketing down towards the violent creature below.
Like a miniature cyclone, Izuku rotated through the air violently before snapping into position with his fist still raised back.
Flesh curled around his fist, his knuckles impacted, crushing the criminal into the ground with such power that the gigantic body rebounded into the air from the force. Izuku practically glided under the still airborne villain in a show of agility, landing with a crouch and cocking his fist once more. He shot up into the stomach of his opponent with his entire body's effort, launching the primal villain even higher into the air and slowing the world to a crawl.
Koichi was speechless.
Izuku took a small breath, growling as he raised his wrists and aimed.
Thwip!
Thwip!
Thwip!
Thwip!
Dozens of volleys of web shots exited from his wrists, dousing the villain from head to two in the substance.
'You're strong! Stronger than anyone I've ever fought, and at first that terrified me, but at the end of the day!'
'You're just another bulky fighter at the arena!' The vigilante screamed to his mind.
Izuku shot his palm into the air as the villain crashed down, holding the gigantic form of Habit Headgear with a single arm and keeping it there. The trigger enhanced villain squirmed for a moment, it's giant body attempting to tear itself out of the tough as steel webbing.
But alas. The trigger wore out, and the villain felt lax, quickly growing smaller. Izuku let out a breath he didn't know he was holding, adrenaline coursing through his veins, he could hear his heartbeat thrumming less and less, and the tension of this endeavour… faded away.
Chucking the now pink skinned villain ahead and onto the concrete, Izuku took a step for victory, his foot saddled atop his defeated opponent. With a shadowed face, Izuku shook with unspent energy.
"HAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH." Izuku roared out into the night, ignoring the yells of police officers running towards him with firearms drawn.
Koichi could only see a victor, "This kid…"
Izuku continued roaring into the night, he'd gone far beyond Koichi's expectations. Performing at a level most pros wouldn't hope to match.
'If he lives to see his prime…'
"He could grow into a monster." Koichi finished, his eyes wobbling as the form of Izuku continued his cry into the night.
A/n: (Please leave a review! Anyways, Habit headgear actually gave both Mount Lady and Kamui Woods a run for their money, so i assume he'd be decently strong, add trigger into the mix and well, he's op. Anyways, I hope any Vigilante fans here enjoy Koichi so far, I'm mostly speculating about his knuckle style because it hasn't been revealed yet but it was too cool to pass up. Koichi has so many unique skill sets that I can't wait to use and expand on. Anyways, Izuku finally took his real first step into the world of vigilantism… But that's not the end of this storyline.)
