Just a little update to the original first chapter for this story. This will remain on hiatus until further notice. Too focused on writing Star Fox, FNAF, and Crossroads.
Oh, and I almost committed suicide last week. Had a gun and everything. But I couldn't do it. My friends over on Discord were screaming and yelling at me to put the gun away and take a breather. I did, and I'm still alive.
This just goes to show how immensely depressed I am and unsatisfied with my job and lifestyle. That's why I've taken it upon myself to move from the States and to a different country, renounce my US citizenship, and become a foreign citizen instead. I don't want to bother with the dual citizenship thing, because I don't want to ever come back to the States.
Anyway, I hope y'all can learn from this and not do any of the things I've been doing to myself.
Enjoy this chapter, please, and don't forget to leave a review if you like the content I've been putting out recently.
On days like this, Amaterasu wished she could revert to her human form and enjoy the sun's rays. It was warm outside; the sun - her domain - was bathing the mortal world she walked on in a glorious radiance of light and warmth. Ah, yes. It's one of those days that she wished she could discard her okami form in favor of her human one and blend in with the mortal populace. Enjoy a bit of freedom for once. Unfortunately, there was no room or place for such 'childish acts' in her list of 'kami duties'. Amaterasu was the sun goddess, and with that title came many responsibilities.
Of course, there was one instance where the sun goddess had some sort of 'freedom'. But even then, it was only because she had to find the thirteen brush gods and collect their techniques to defeat Orochi and Yami.
Amaterasu, or 'Shiranui' as she was known to the people of Kamiki Village, smiled fondly at the memory before quickly replacing it with a deep frown.
Someway, somehow, Yami had managed to escape his demise at her hand
After stripping the goddess of her powers, she was left near death. But a tiny inch-tall shrimp, calling himself 'The Great Wandering Artist Issun', had gathered the many prayers and thoughts of those she had encountered and touched and restored her stolen powers. This allowed Amaterasu to defeat Yami once and for all. Or so she thought.
Recently, in the ten years leading up to now, demons that were once part of Yami's army had been wreaking havoc on Nippon and the rest of the world. This troubled the sun goddess greatly. And the attacks weren't random acts of violence. They were coordinated and reminiscent of when Amaterasu faced Orochi, the eight-headed serpent, and Yami. She knew the demons should have scattered and been sloppy in their attacks without a leader like Yami. This, however, was not the case. Once, during one of her patrols at night after the sun had set, Amaterasu encountered one of Yami's demons. Upon defeating the dark, ugly vermin, it was revealed to the sun goddess that Yami had returned, albeit weak but slowly regaining his strength as the years went by. Amaterasu cursed herself and her arrogance for not listening to or heeding Reijiko's words long ago. The sun goddess was too prideful to acknowledge that Yami had indeed returned, and denying that fact, she had lost one of her friends.
The memory brought a pang of guilt to Amaterasu, but she shook it from her head. "Now's not the time to dwell in the past," she told herself, straightening her posture before stalking off into the woods. "I have a job to do."
Ten years passed, and it was time for the prophecy to be fulfilled. Soon, Yami would rise from the depths of wherever his fractured, weak soul resided and attempt to plunge the entire world into darkness. But Amaterasu wasn't going to let that happen. Not if she had anything to say about it.
As the sun goddess made her way through the woods on all fours, her divine instrument, Solar Flare, was mounted on her back. Sounds of the local wildlife echoed off in the distance, causing Amaterasu's ears to flick every now and then.
"The forests of Nippon were never this...foreboding. Even with all the demons running amok," she mused aloud. A rustle of leaves to her right froze the sun goddess in her tracks, and she turned to the noise, her fur standing on end. After a moment of silence, Amaterasu loosened her posture but remained as alert as ever. Something was wrong with this forest, making the sun goddess feel endangered. It was almost as if...as if he was here.
An unknown entity suddenly picked up Amaterasu and threw her to the side. The sun goddess twirled in the air and landed on her paws, sliding on the ground as she dug her claws into the soil. A growl ripped from her toothed maw, and she narrowed her golden-yellow eyes at her aggressor:
A bud ogre stomped its forepaws and snarled at Amaterasu.
The sun goddess snorted her disgust at the chimera and readied herself to charge at the demon. But then several imps and even a stone guardian appeared from underground, catching her off-guard. "This will be child's play," she muttered, grinning wolfishly. She closed her eyes, and her form glowed in a brilliant gold light before dissipating, revealing her alternate okami form:
Standing on two legs, the white wolf with red markings adopted a voluptuous and curvaceous female humanoid body. Her tail, marked with grey swirls, protruded from above a generously rounded rump, and her legs and thighs were a healthy mix of muscle and fat. A large pair of plump, perky breasts hung from her chest, covered in fur that gradually thinned as it neared the black nipples that tipped the mounds. In her left paw, which had morphed into a human hand tipped with sharp claws, was Solar Flare as her shield, and in her right was the glaive Thunder Edge. "Hit me with your best shot," she taunted confidently.
A green imp screeched and charged Amaterasu, a decision that was ultimately fatal for the demonic creature. The sun goddess sidestepped the sloppy excuse of an attack and swung her glaive, cleaving the imp into two before it disintegrated into flowers. Pride burned in her eyes and reflected in her grin. "Does anyone else want to try?" When none of her foes attempted to move, her grin grew wider. "Very well. Your funeral. Not that anyone would attend it."
Her right foot swept around to the back, and she crouched low. With a war cry - a bone-chilling howl - she launched herself into the crowd of assorted demons. Amaterasu was a glowing, golden blur of destruction. Red and green imps fell quickly to her weapons of light. A couple of blue imps were the only ones to escape the ground onslaught in time, but they were not safe from the sun goddess's Gaelstorm, which forced them to crash and allowed Amaterasu to finish them off with another devastating swipe from Thunder Edge. With most lesser demons vanquished, Amaterasu directed her attention at the remaining foes: A yellow imp, a headless guardian, and the bud ogre.
The drum-bearing demon let out a grunt and a hoot before burrowing into the soil below. While it did its rounds, Amaterasu focused on the headless guardian. She covered the possessed statue in ink, temporarily blinding it, and bashed it with Solar Flare. Then she cleaved it in two with Thunder Edge. This was all achieved in less than five seconds, leaving just enough time for her to face the yellow imp, which was beginning to emerge from the underground. Amaterasu jumped and backflipped, landing behind the creature just as its head popped above the soil. She immediately decapitated it, the corpse and head exploding in a beautiful display of flowers.
Now all that was left was the ogre, which had remained motionless throughout the ordeal. While this struck Amaterasu as odd, she dismissed the thought and prepared to charge the chimera. But then, there was this chill that shot down her spine; an all-too-familiar sensation from when she was in Sei-an City and encountered-
"Amaterasu!"
The sun goddess's head swiveled in the direction of the voice, which allowed the bud ogre to take advantage of this distraction. But Amaterasu was quicker than it and, after momentarily stunning it and using Bloom on its seed-pod body, dispatched it before it exploded into more flowers and petals.
With all 'minor' threats neutralized, Amaterasu turned to the primary foe who had called her out. Whom she saw stunned the sun goddess, and she shook her head in disbelief. "No. It...it can't be."
Kyuubi, aka Ninetails, sneered at the anthro wolfess. "Oh, it very much is, my dear goddess. It is I, the Dark Lord, reborn." She cackled evilly before looking Amaterasu up and down with dark red eyes. "I see you've taken a similar form as I, and I must say," she licked her lips sensually. "You look delicious. Even more so than that priestess Rao centuries ago."
Amaterasu recovered from the shock and raised an eyebrow at the demon fox, looking her up and down. Indeed, Ninetails/Kyuubi had an identical body as she did. Although, it was more suited for a brothel than anything. Her breasts were ridiculously large - larger than Amaterasu's - and her figure was a near-perfect hourglass with wide hips and thick thighs. "I'm surprised you still remember her."
Kyuubi chuckled and sauntered to the sun goddess, who jumped into a battle-ready stance. "I remember all my meals, Amaterasu. And while I partially resent eating Rao, it was fun seducing unsuspecting males with her luscious, busty body."
Amaterasu rolled her eyes before adopting a battle-ready stance. "Spare me your words, Ninetails. I am here for the erabareshimono, the one who is destined to defeat your master once and for all." She narrowed her golden orbs at the fox demon before baring her teeth. "And you're in my way."
Kyuubi/Ninetails threw her head back and cackled maniacally, then scowled at Amaterasu. "You are sorely mistaken, my dear goddess. I have no master, for one. Second, your precious erabareshimono, your 'champion', is on his way to a trap I set for him." She closed her red eyes and licked her lips, all nine stone tails twitching in ecstasy. "I deduct he will be an excellent toy for me to play with before I feast on his delicious man-flesh."
Amaterasu snarled and tightened her grip on Thunder Edge. "Over my cold, lifeless body, oni."
Kyuubi's red eyes flared brightly and dangerously, and she let out a growl. "As you wish, Amaterasu-no-Okami," she spat venomously before summoning a nine-pronged blade of lightning. "I will enjoy putting you in your place."
Amaterasu shrugged off Kyuubi's threat and crouched low to the ground. "I defeated you once, Ninetails," she said calmly. "I can...I will do it again. Rrragh!" She dashed towards Kyuubi at breakneck speed, spinning like a whirlwind as she did. Kyuubi quickly blocked the swinging blade aimed for her masked head, but Amaterasu immediately followed up with a shield bash from Solar Flare, which crashed into Kyuubi's muzzle and knocked a few of her teeth loose.
They suddenly separated to take a brief respite before clashing again; sparks flew from their blades as they collided and sang through the air, echoing in the surrounding woods. Then Kyuubi was first to break the relatively silent atmosphere of their battle:
"It's a shame you won't get to look at your so-called champion, Ammy." The use of her nickname, which was given to her byIssun centuries ago, made the okami sun goddess pause in her seemingly endless strikes. Kyuubi grinned devilishly before leaping away and out of reach of Amaterasu's blade. Then she slipped a paw down to her wide hips and canted them to the side seductively. "I have, and I must say, he is very handsome. It almost makes me regret what I'm about to do to him. Although," she paused and closed her eyes, then shuddered in delight, her tails quivering with the movement. "I'll show him a good time before making him my next meal."
Amaterasu roared in a rage and summoned Firestorm, setting a sizable portion of the surrounding forest ablaze. But the move barely affected Kyuubi, who was still standing once the flames had died away. "You will do no such thing, demon spawn. He is under my protection."
Kyuubi narrowed her grin to a sly smirk, and she tilted her head to the side. "Are you sure about that? And what are you going to do about the Golden Demon? Oh, and the Silver Demon?" As if on cue with the fox demon's words, two separate - but equally ear-splitting - shrieks echoed in the distance, followed by faint, rapid cracks of thunder.
Amaterasu stared at Kyuubi in horrified disbelief. "What have you done? And how did they come back?"
Kyuubi chuckled as she stepped backward, her body shifting into a thick, black mist. "You can thank my good friend Yami for resurrecting all of your greatest foes. Including yours truly." She cackled one last time before completely disappearing from Amaterasu's view, leaving the okami sun goddess at a loss for words.
"This...this can't be. It's too soon! I won't have enough time to-"
Bang! Bang-bang-bang!
Amaterasu swiveled her head in the direction of the gunshots, where her 'champion' would no doubt be struggling to fight off the Twin Demons; Lechku and Nechku. Placing Solar Flare on her back and sheathing Thunder Edge, she morphed into her standard okami form and tore off towards the thickest part of these woods.
"Hang on, erabareshimono," she panted between breaths, dodging and weaving around the trees and fallen logs. "I'm coming for you."
