Cody was trying to get comfortable on his new bed that Loona had given him since she brought him here. Of course, it was never official if Loona adopted him or not. Nah, it was probably just a way to help him and give him shelter until he gets back on his feet. Deep down, without really admitting it, Loona was growing to like the child a good deal, and Blitz was rather the same. After watching a little bit of TV, Loona came in with an iced drink. "Here you go, buddy. Nice root beer on the house."

"Thanks Loona." said Cody with his innocent smile. "But i'm not going to become a demon here, will I?"

"Pfft. No. That will not happen to you. Besides, that only happens to bad people after they die, and you are still alive and still an innocent kid. But you'll be fine, Cody. Trust me."

"I do. I wish I can tell Tommy I'm okay, but he's probably busy with his training and firing his machine gun at bad guys."

"Heh. Maybe. But Blitz here has the book if you ever wanna come back to the human world." Loona sat next to him. "So your dad really got you into rock and metal?"

"Yeah! Those bands are awesome! I wish my friends would like them as much as I do."

"Heh. I know. Kids today, but you're not one of those kids Cody. I can tell. You ever been to a concert before?"

"Three."

"Oh? What bands?"

"Guns N' Roses, Metallica, and... Overkill." Cody said. "My dad even got me a backstage pass to meet the bands in person. They were really nice to me."

Loona looked rather surprised to hear that and remarked: "Wow. Sounds like you are one lucky boy." she gently gave him a pat on the back.

"I concur with Loona completely." said Blitz. "I mean, having seen those amazing bands? Your dad must have been something, Cody. Let me say this, sounds like your parents raised you well if you listen to those bands. That's the kind of stuff kids should listen to. Not the sh- I mean, ugly pop garbage."

"And I wish they wouldn't listen to Barney either." Cody said

"Ugh! That's even worse!" said Blitz in contempt. "I just wish I can pump up my shotgun and blast him here where he belongs! Gah! Barney, why was he even created in the first place?!"

Loona looked annoyed at his adopted parent's anger, and said: "Oh don't be such a drama king, Blitz."

"Fine, fine. At least he is not being aired anymore. So thank Satan for that! And, FYI, I am not a drama king! Stolas has that title since he always wants my body!"

Cody raised his right eyebrow and asked: "Who's Stolas?"

"He's the prince of Hell." said Loona. "He and his family are filthy, stinking rich. He's one of the company's best clients, and regulars."

"Both in hiring to kill whoever the target is, or to fuck me silly!"

"Blitz!" Loona said again.

"Sorry, Cody. I don't mean to lose my temper, but that Stolas can drive. me. CRAZY!" he took a deep breath. "But, Loona is also correct: he is one of our best clients and he pays us good money... mostly. Besides, I had to sleep with him so we can have access to the living world."

"Oh. Is he evil?"

"Well, I wouldn't say evil. But come on, we're in Hell." said Loona. "What can you expect."

"True. As long as you guys don't try to eat me or gouge my eyes out, put them back, and gouge them again. Or even stick a hot stick up my butt." Cody admitted. What he said made Loona spit out her juice.

"What? OK, that is just dumb. What kind of retard gave you a crazy-ass idea like that?"

"My grandparents told me that's what happens to tormented souls here."

"Well, I can tell you it's not true." said Blitz. "Don't you worry. And we will not do any of that stuff to you, I promise."

"So do I, sweetie." Loona said, slowly hugging the human child.

"Oh, it's so nice to see this side of you Loona. You can be as soft as a marshmallow."

"Oh shut the hell up da- I mean, Blitz! Call me soft again, and I'll rip your heart out."

"Sorry." Blitz looked a little scared. Just because he is her adopted father, it doesn't mean he is completely safe from Loona's wrath, and if anyone makes Loona mad, they'd better keep out of her way. "But if there is anything you would like to eat, just say the word and we'll get ya what you want." Suddenly, the doorbell rang and it gave out a scream of pain, spooking the child a little bit.

"What was that?" Cody clung to Loona.

"Relax. It's OK, Cody. It's just the doorbell." the hellhound said. "You'll get used to that sound." she went to the door and it revealed to be her coworkers from before. "Oh. What a nice surprise." she said sarcastically while rolling her eyes. "This day just seems to get better and better with two of my least favorite demons in all of Hell."

"Oh shut up, Loona!" Moxxie said. "We didn't come here to see you. We just wanted to check on Cody."

"Don't you tell my Loony to shut up!" Blitzo reprimanded. "Do I need to remind you that I made you employee of the month, Moxx?"

"OK. OK. Just calm down now." Millie intervened. "Where is the little boy."

"I'm right here." Cody peaked from over the head of the sofa.

"Ah. There you are." both the imps sat down next to him and Moxxie asked: "So how do you like it here? Are you feeling comfortable?"

"Even though this place looks a little scary... I am, Moxxie."

"Good." said the male imp

"And we got you a little something that you might like." said Millie. "Mox, care to show him?"

"Absolutely honey." Moxxie showed him two green balls tied to a rope at the end, and they were rather hard. "Those babies are clackers." Millie sang.

"Clackers?"

"Yeah, they are fun toys that you just go like this. You might want to take a step back." The boy did as he was advised and took a few steps away from the couch. Moxxie began clacking the balls gently making some noise every time they hit one another. This is normal clacking if you just want to go it nice and slow. And now... watch this." he then began flailing the balls around making more clacking noises in a faster tempo.

Cody looked impressed and he was clapping at how amazing this toy was. "Wow! That's so cool. Where did you get them?"

"Just my childhood toys. I have no use for them anymore, so I want to give them to you, Cody. What do you think?" Moxxie said

"Thanks Moxxie. I wanna try."

"Just don't do it rapidly like I did. If you are not careful, you can hit your face really hard, and it hurts. I promise."

"OK." The child slowly took the clackers from the imp and tried doing it slowly like the imp did before. Loona looked rather annoyed because of her more powerful hearing from the clacking noises.

Blitzo looked a little annoyed himself. "Gah, good thing he can't do it rapidly Moxxie, otherwise, it would drive me bat-crazy."

"Well it's starting to drive me crazy already." Blitz said.

Cody frowned and said: "Oh. Sorry."

"No, it's ok, kiddo." said Loona. "just don't do it so close to me. I have sensitive ears. And like Moxxie said: try not to hurt yourself."

"OK." The boy chimed as he was clacking some more.

"Well, I think the boy looks so adorable." said Millie. "It makes me happy to see him like those clackers."

"I'm not adorable." said Cody. "I'm handsome."

Everyone laughed with him. "Yeah, we know. That's what I mean, sweetie." said Millie. "And hey, when we're not working, you should hang out with me and Moxxie some time, Cody."

"We can go out for pizza, ice cream bugs," Moxxie smiled

"Ice cream bugs?" Cody stopped clacking with a look of disgust. "Eww! That sounds so gross and icky! Eating bugs?"

"Well, it doesn't have to be bugs." Moxxie said. "We have regular ice cream here too."

"Yeah, it will be fun." Millie added

"OK. That does sound fun."

"Well, I have an idea." said Loona. "Maybe we can take him to Loo Loo Land. Maybe he would like that. Except for the animatronics."

"What's Loo Loo Land?" the child asked taking a sip of his soda.

"It's a cool theme park with some amazing rides and cotton candy, and all that." Blitzo answered.

"Sounds like Disneyland." Cody said. "I love Disneyland."

"Then you'll love Loo Loo Land, too." Loona smiled. "Don't worry, it will be kinda like Disneyland, and more exciting."

"I thought you hate Loo Loo Land?" asked Moxxie.

"Oh yeah. I do. That and Disneyland." Loona admitted. "But, I really like Cody and I want to make him happy and... do not call me soft, but I do really like the kid. But mind you, I am still tough as a thousand nails branded in hot iron." she gritted her sharp fangs to show how tough she was. "And the slices from my claws are as painful as gonorrhea."

"What's gonorrhea?" Cody asked Every adult in the room blushed and looked sheepish by that question. Of course, Cody was far too young to know about that, or any other STD-related subjects.

"It's... also complicated, Cody." said Moxxie

"Yeah, you will understand when you are at least a teenager or older." Millie said. "Trust me, you do not want to know."

Cody just shrugged and decided to not ask that question anymore. "Well, I'll be okay with the animatronics. I've played Five Nights at Freddy's many times and I learned not to be scared of it."

"Really?" said Loona. "I'm surprised your parents let you play that popular game."

"Well, my dad would play it with me so I would be less scared." the child admitted. He looked sad and sighed, "I do miss him, and mommy."

Everyone looked sympathetic and Loona hugged him once more. "We're sorry." she said.

"But always remember, it's not your fault." Moxxie gently patted the kid's head. "These things just happen by accident."

"Are you sure you guys don't have some magic where you can bring them back to life?" Cody asked

"Sorry Cody." said Loona.

"Yeah, there's no spell that can bring people back from the dead." Millie admitted. "And believe me, if there was, we would definitely bring them back for you."

"Agreed!" said Blitz. "But, apparently, there is no magic for that, and we are deeply sorry."

"It's OK. Tommy told me that sometimes, life is not fair." then Cody finished off his soda until there was very little left in the iced glass.

"True. That is so true." Loona admitted. "He is not wrong about that. So you want more root beer?"

"Do you have water?" asked Cody

"Totally. I'll be right back." said the hellhound before coming back with a glass of water this time. "And i know a couple of guys you would love to meet. One of them's Octavia, Stolas' daughter and Tex, a hellhound friend of mine." she blushed mentioning the last name she said. Blitz on the other hand, cringed at hearing the name. His father instincts were kicking in once again, but he knew how much Loona liked the big, gentle giant. Sure the big, bulky hellhound worked with one of his most hated ex-girlfriends, but Loona really liked him a great deal and he is her friend.

Inside, Loona was sad and bummed that he already has a girlfriend, but it's like Cody said: Life isn't fair sometimes. Despite that, he and Tex were still on great terms. "Tex is a really nice guy, and you would like him."

"What about Octavia?" asked Cody.

"I honestly don't know. But she's kinda like me. At least, that's what Blitz told me."

"I told you that you guys would really hit it off if you get to know each other. But hey, i'm sure she would find you OK."

"Cool." Cody smiled, drinking his water. "I wish there was a Burger King or McDonald's here."

"Like we said, we have the book that can bring us to the human world, kid." Blitz reminded. "You ever feel like going to those places, let us know and we'll take you there."

The child was very grateful and thankful to have such nice demons be with him, even though this was Hell after all.

"Well, we need to go." said Moxxie. "I promised Millie I would take her to a romantic dinner together."

"And we'll be having spaghetti and eyeballs for dinner." Millie sang. "Come on Moxxie. We got to try that restaurant."

"Got it Millie. See you later Cody."

"Bye Moxxie, bye Millie." the imp couple waved at the child kindly before leaving the place. Cody then let out a yawn which Loona noticed

"Oh, you're not getting tired are you?"

"No." the boy replied. Despite what he said: he yawned again. "I'm not tired."

"Me thinks that your yawning says otherwise." Loona smirked

"Well. when my house was on fire, I was trying to run and look for a way out until you saved me."

Loona frowned. "Yeah. I can imagine. It's okay if you want to take a nap."

"Well, i would just do that in my pajamas." Cody said modestly

"Then just nap in your skimmies." said Blitz

"Skimmies?" the boy hasn't heard that idiom before.

"He means your underwear." Loona corrected.

"Oh." the boy did just that and undid his clothes, revealing his boxers before tucking himself in the bed. Loona thought of how adorable he was when he was sleeping and couldn't help but sit next to him and gently rub his light-brown hair.

"He is so cute when he is sleeping." Loona said

"Well Loona, i'm going to get a couple more spiders for you. I'll be right back."

"Whatever," was all Loona could reply before she was left alone with the poor child. She still sat next to him and without him knowing, she gave him a tender kiss on the cheek like she was his actual mother.
