Cody was relieved to have Verosika and her crew leave him alone like this. But he felt sympathy for Vortex having to work for her as her personal bodyguard. Tex seemed like quite a gentle giant, and a really nice guy with good looks for a demonic hellhound with a scar over his left eye. The human boy can kinda see why Loona fell in love with a cool guy like him. The female Hellhound went up to Cody and hugged him. "Cody, are you ok?"

"Just fine, Loona. It's kinda my fault. I forgot the cross was in my back pocket and-"

"No no no, don't be too hard on yourself." Loona smile, gently placing a hand on his left shoulder. "We all forget things."

"Oh, like how you keep forgetting not to eat my lunch?" Moxxie pointed in an annoyed tone

Loona looked annoyed at the imp's remark, and said: "Put a cock in it." she nodded her head sideways while her white and red eyes looked up in the ceiling before turning her attention back to the adorable human boy. "Sorry. Me and my coworkers still have some beef with one another. I promise, it has nothing to do with you."

Cody smiled. "Good. As long as you don't try to kill each other, I'm fine."

"She did try to kill me one t- OW!" Moxxie felt his left arm being jabbed by his own wife with her right elbow.

"Moxxie. Now's not a good time, sweetie-kins." she gritted her teeth."

"Sorry."

"I know I have the cross with me, but what if Verosika comes back for me? He sees me as if i'm a dog or a pet, not a kid."

"You're not wrong." said Blitzo. "The way she and her friends were fondling you as if you were a puppy or a kitten."

"What he's trying to say is," said Loona, "they will never get ya. If they want you, they'll have to get through me."

"But Tex is with them and he is very strong." Cody pointed

"Maybe so, but he's my friend too. He clearly said he would make sure that Verosika would never hurt you or try to take you. If I trust him, you should too, Cody. You'll be fine." she gently hugged.

"Thank you Loona." said Cody, hugging her. "Though I wish my brother was here."

"Well, we're sorry." said Blitzo. "But we can't make him appear with the snap of my fingers."

"I know, I know." Cody sang. "I just want him to know that i'm alright. But... Can I go to the human world again? I want to do something like... walk in the forest or enjoy the wilderness, something like that."

"Sure, we can do that." Loona said. "Blitz, hand me that book."

"Very well. Just be careful not to be assaulted by some freaks or weirdos."

"Oh shut up, Blitz." Loona said. "You and I both know that no one would even think about trying to rape me. You should have seen what i've done to a group of bikers that harassed me and Cody at Burger King yesterday. They never stood a chance."

Cody did remember that all too well. How she handled those thugs as if they were nothing to her at all, but a couple of pests. "She's right, you know. She kicked some biker butt at Burger King. I wish you guys would have been there."

"We believe you Cody." Moxxie said. "Trust me, we have all seen what Loona is capable of. She can be a tall, mean killing machine if angered... No offense."

"Meh. None taken. Kinda take pride in that actually. Besides, i've been called worse."

"That makes sense." said Millie. Blitzo promptly gave the hellhound the book to the human world, with she and the human boy transporting back to Earth. They were at a place that looked like a forest or some kind of wilderness, with some trees and a nice valley of grass. Cody decided to sit on a knoll and Loona sat next to him. There was no need for a human disguise since there were no other humans seen in this little area near Cody's hometown.

Looking around his surroundings, Cody spotted a red squirrel eating an acorn nut in an oak tree, being itself. The next thing Cody spotted was a large owl looking down upon him with it's big, bulgy eyes. This owl's plumage was the color of brown and some black spots on it. Just looking at the owl reminded Cody of Stolas and his family since they were owl-like demons.

Loona wondered what Cody was looking at, and spotted the owl herself. "Ah, look at the eyes of this guy." she said. "It's like he's watching us."

The owl turned it's head around like many owls would do, and blinked a few times before tilting his head at least one time. "Good thing they don't eat humans like me." Cody remarked. "Does Stolas eat people?"

"What? No, that's completely crazy." Loona replied. "Remember that he said he has some associates here on Earth? He's kind of... a school teacher to some people."

"What does he teach them?"

"The stars, the planets, constellations, blah blah blah."

This large owl began puffing his throat and hooting majestically before flying off somewhere else.

"You know Stolas can talk to owls?"

"Really?"

"Yep. He's an owl demon, so he can talk to them. Like how I can communicate with Tod since I am a dog-like demon."

"Oh yeah. That's right." the human boy remembered. "I'm glad he's ok and didn't die."

"It's OK, Cody. There's no need to be sad."

"Yeah. I wish that could bring mom and dad back."

"Look at me," she gently said. The boy did as she told him in a soft tone, and looked at her in the red and white eyes. "Everything will be fine. I'm sure your brother is thinking about you right now."

Cody smiled with hope, and he said: "I think he is. You would like him. His wife is really nice."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Tommy is the best big brother a little brother can ask for. He is like my guardian angel... before you came along. Not saying you have to be, but... you did save me from a fire and without you, I would have been-"

He was gently silenced by Loona's soft fingers. "Shhhh, it's perfectly fine, Cody. I'm glad to have saved you, too." she slightly looked away and saw her surroundings. "I'm helping you survive and helping you be happy. No kid should face something like that."

"Right?" Cody agreed. "Why would God do this to me?"

"I don't know if this is God, but things happen. Once you think about it, no one is one-hundred percent safe."

"Yeah, that's true." Cody admitted. "The world can be a dangerous place."

"Exactly. You just gotta watch your step."

"Got it. And... Loona?"

"Hmm?"

"Do you think I'm... you know... cool?"

Loona made a small chuckle, and she replied: "Cool? Cody, i've only seen a few people as cool as you. Look at you: a big brother in the French Foreign Legion, going to concerts with your dad, befriending a wild animal you saved as a baby. You have amazing taste of music, and you love heavy metal as much as I do. You are one cool kid."

Cody smiled gratefully, and he was absolutely flattered by Loona's compliment, and he hugged her again. "Thank you, Loona."

"Cody?" called a voice. "Cody, are you here?" The small child looked over to see who was calling his name. At first, he recognized the voice, and didn't know for sure. "Cody, it's me, your brother!"

The boy's heart began pounding like a drum and he smiled to see his brother and Celeste together, both looking for him. Loona saw the humans and instantly changed into her human disguise so these two wouldn't get the wrong idea about her. "Tommy?" Cody said to him, making the young man gasp and widen his eyes as if he had seen a spirit.

Tommy could hardly believe it, and he shouted: "Cody!"

"Tommy!" the boy shrieked before both brothers hugged one another very tightly. Eyes closed, they were crying with joy at seeing each other again, and didn't let go for a brief period of time. Tommy really missed his brother and Cody really missed Tommy, which was all the more reason for them to be crying like this.

"Cody?" asked the girl

"Celeste?" Cody recognized before hugging her next.

"It's so good to see you again." said Celeste.

"I thought I'd lost you." Tommy said. "Are you OK?"

"I'm fine. But how did you guys find me?"

"We were going to every door in the neighborhood to the police station to look for you. The neighbors told us about the fire and I wanted to make sure you weren't dead."

"I'm sorry about mom and dad." Cody shed a few tears. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to cause the fire."

"No, no, no. Of course not." Tommy knelt down and hugged him again. "Of course it wasn't your fault. It was no one's fault. All that matters is that you're safe."

"Excuse me," said Loona, walking up to the group. "I saved him from the fire."

Tommy and Celeste looked surprised and grateful to hear those words. "Well, thank you so much, miss..."

"Loona. Call me Loona."

"Thank you so much for saving him." Celeste added. "We owe you a great debt."
