Blitz prepared the portal with his spell book, and it was coordinated back for Tommy and Celeste to return to France. Sure, Cody was safe now, but Tommy, being a big brother, was still concerned about the well-being of his little brother. Sure, Hell didn't look that bad (according to which ring it was), but this is still the infamous domain where bad and evil people go to when they die.
Alas, Loona seemed like a nice demon and she did save the child from facing death. Tommy still owed that to her to say the least.
These demons seemed like nice ones that have no intention in hurting the boy. The portal was all set from that book and they were ready to head back to their own nice house in the French countryside. Before Celeste and Tommy could head back, Tommy knelt down and squatted so he can make proper eye contact with his brother. "Are you sure you don't want to come with me and Celeste, buddy?"
Cody had his thinking face on, and he nodded his head after five long seconds. "I'm sure Tommy. I love you but without Loona, I would have died."
Tommy made a small smile. "I love you too, Cody. Don't ever doubt that." he gave Cody one last hug with some tears down his face. "I'm just so glad you're alright."
"Me too." Cody hugged him back. "I can always see you."
"Totally."
Moxxie and Millie felt like shedding tears of happiness at seeing these brothers bounding like this, same with Blitz. Loona didn't shed a tear from her face, but she really had that urge to do so.
Despite all of this, the Hellhound didn't really want to show feelings to others right now, and preferred to keep her feelings in herself. "Blitz, can I see my brother any time?"
"Absolutely, kiddo." Blitz replied. "As long as we have this heavy book, anything is possible."
Cody smiled gratefully and before the couple could set foot back to the living world, Vortex came in the building. "Excuse me."
"You?" Tommy recognized him. "what are you doing here?"
"Relax, dude." said Loona. "He's friendly."
"Yeah. totally." the male hellhound had a guilty look on his face and slightly looked away. "Cody," he said, "I'm so sorry about this. I never meant for any of this to happen."
"It's ok, Tex." said Cody. "You were just following orders. but, now you quit being her bodyguard."
"Yep."
"Well, I'm sorry you don't have a job." Cody said
"Don't be sorry, buddy." said Vortex. "And don't worry about me. I'll manage what kind of job I can look for."
"Well, see you later, Tommy."
"Bye Cody." Tommy smiled
"A tout a l'heure, Cody." Celeste said before she and her lover came back to their nice house.
Deep down, Cody was sad, but he remembered Blitzo saying that he can always see them with that book in his hands.
Loona knelt down on one knee and said: "Cody, are you alright?"
"Yeah. I just need to lie down." Cody admitted before laying on the couch.
"Well, I gotta tell my girlfriend the news." Vortex said. "Take care guys."
"Don't let the door hit you on the way out." Blitz muttered under his breath, only for Loona to scowl at him. "What?"
"Crumbs, I'm just glad it's over." Moxxie admitted
"Yeah, that Verosika. that popstar wss relentless." Millie added
"You guys have no idea." said Blitz in a bitter voice. "If she comes back, we need to be ready for her."
Moxxie made a small gasp in realization. "What if she hires a larger hellhound bodyguard that is scarier and just plain sadistic?"
"Then, we better be waiting for her, Mox." Blitz said. "Either that or give you to the Hellhound as a peace offering."
"Hey!" Moxxie said, offended.
"You do that, then you will have to offer me with him!" Millie protested.
"Never part of a bigger cause, huh Millie? Heh, love has no boundaries." Loona rolled her eyes. She gave the couch a more sympathetic and worried look. "Cody, you want to watch TV?"
"Yeah, please."
Loona smiled and turned on the TV to reveal AFV playing with Cody smiling at the screwups caught on tape. If Cody was happy, then Loona was happy as well.
"So tomorrow, would you like to see me and Millie's apartment, Cody? I know it's not much, but what do you say?"
"Sure. that sounds fun."
"And you have got to see how Moxxie cooks a mean dish, honeybunch!" Millie Said. She and her husband sat down next to him
"So are you feeling OK?" Moxxie said. "I know we keep asking you this Cody, but when Verosika... you know, it gave us quite a scare."
"Yeah, it scared us half to death." Millie said. "I would never like a person that would dare hurt a pretty face like yours, sweetie."
Cody made a small chuckle and said: "Don't worry. I'm fine. besides, if I wasn't, I would probably have scars and bruises on me."
The four IMP employees made a small laugh. "That is so true." Loona said. "But I'm just glad you are alright."
"We all are." Blitz said. "And I knew my Loony has an adorable sweet heart inside that stone cold exterior."
Loona growled and showed her teeth at Blitz while snarling. "Say that again, Blitz." she snarled
"I mean... you're tough as nails." Blitz laughed nervously. "The toughest and meanest girl i have ever met in my entire life."
Loona stopped her growling and narrowed her eyes. In a more calm voice, she said: "You're damn right, dipshit. Don't you forget it, or I will rip one of your eyes out with my claws.
Poor Blitz felt like crapping his pants, but he nodded his head, telling her that he understood completely.
