The Warship slowly descended above a mountain, constantly sending Decepticon miners in and out with piles of energon while they were protected by a lot of soldiers. On top of the mine, the second-in-command stood accompanied by his leader.
"So, this is our largest energon mine?" A new visitor asked inside the shadows.
"Indeed, Lord Megatron. Of all the energon deposits that we have located on this planet during your absence, this one is by far the most significant. The drones have been mining without pause and we have amassed quite a stockpile," Starscream said before shouting at a miner, "You there, fetch me a sample!"
"Starscream!" Megatron said, emerging from the shadows. "Now that I have returned, I will issue the commands."
"I understand, Lord Megatron," The SIC said before continuing, "Then as your humble servant, shall I ready the space bridge, to bring forth the Decepticon army you have surely gathered during your five years in space?"
"My army will come. But my time away has yielded a more intriguing means of materializing them." Megatron said, before pulling out a dark crystal to show it to his second-in-command, "A solidified form of the matter the ancients refer to as the 'blood of Unicron."
"Unicron the Destroyer… But It is said his blood is the Anti-Spark."
"Plucked from cosmic shores. Gaze upon… Dark Energon."
"Legend tells that it holds the power to revive the dead."
"We require only a cadaver to be certain," The Warlord suggested before turning to his second-in-command, "Are you willing to make the ultimate sacrifice?"
"That will not be necessary. If I may, Lord Megatron." The SIC said as two Decepticon soldiers brought him the corpse of Cliffjumper. "Consider it a welcome home present."
Megatron darkly smiled as he looked down at the fallen red-horned autobot.
Autobot Base
"And since you now know of our existence, I fear that as of last night, the Decepticons know of yours." Optimus ended.
"Got it. If we spot any strange vehicles call 911." Jack concluded. "Can we go now?"
"Are you insane? I'm living a dream here in Bot-swana, and I'm not going to allow you or anyone else to shatter it!" Miko warned.
"It is best that you three remain under our watch, at least until we can determine our enemies intentions." The Prime finished.
"Optimus, with all due respect, the human children are in much danger here as anywhere." Ratchet commented.
"Children?" Leo asked, annoyed of what the medic just said. "Hey, buddy, a few of us are old enough to drive!"
"That's not what I meant," The medic said before getting to the actual point, "They have no protective shell. If they go underfoot, they'll go... squish." He made a big loud step to prove his point.
"Then for the time being, Ratchet, we must watch where we step," Optimus told him.
Momentarily after, an alarm was triggered alongside a flashing green light, so Ratchet turned back to the computer.
"Um, what's that?" Leo asked.
"(Don't worry; it's our proximity sensor, which tell us someone comes from the base's top.)" Bee Buzzed
"Proximity sensor. Someone's on top." Raf translated.
"Who's on top?" Leo asked.
The autobot medic opened a window on the screen, revealing a helicopter and a tall man in military uniform with black hair walking to an elevator door on the mountain. "It's Agent Fowler"
"A-Agent Fowler?! Leo asked, shocked to hear what he just heard, "That's my dad! Wait, my dad is an agent?!" He clearly didn't know that his dad was an agent, nor did he knew that his dad had that kind of job.
"I thought we were the only humans who knew about you guys." Jack said.
"I have to agree with Jack. How did my dad know about you guys first?"
"Your father is our designated liaison to the outside world," Optimus told Leo before telling the rest to them, "As he tends to visit only when there are issues, it may be best not to meet him at this time." Optimus finished, and the kids hid behind some metal boxes.
The elevator made it's decent to the main haul. The doors opened and Agent Fowler entered the base, but he did not seem very happy. "7 wrecks, 34 Fender benders, a 3-hour traffic jam, and a particular note, numerous reports of a speeding motorcycle of unknown make and two muscular cars!" He said, looking at Arcee, Blue Jacket and Bumblebee. However, they just looked at each other and shrugged. He then turned his attention to Optimus, "So anything you care to get off your tin chest, Prime?"
"We have the situation under control, Agent Fowler."
"They're back, aren't they?"
"If you are referring to the Decepticons, I have doubts that they have ever left. Your planet is too valuable."
"Then it's time to wake up the pentagon."
"Hear me, Agent Fowler. We are your best, possibly your only defense against the Decepticon threat."
"Says you."
"Hey fleshy. Did anyone get splattered on that freeway? Team Prime knows when to use force... And how much to use." Bulkhead proclaimed as he ripped off a mechanical arm on the table and squeezed it until it broke into pieces.
"Bulkhead, I needed that!" Ratchet complained of what Bulkhead just did.
"Enough!" Optimus shouted before turning back to Leo's dad. "Military involvement will only result in catastrophe. Perhaps you can condone widespread human casualties, Agent Fowler. I, however, cannot."
"Then do us both a favor and handle this, Prime. Under the radar." Agent Fowler said as he went back to the elevator. "Or I will." The doors closed and sent the agent back to the surface.
"Pretty big bearings, for a human."
"Agent Fowler is concerned for his world, Bulkhead. As he should be." Optimus responded.
BJ then looked at the metal boxes. "You guys can come out now."
The four kids came out of hiding. Leo was still in shock. "M-My dad... Is a secret agent? I-I can't believe it..."
Meanwhile...
Megatron started walking over to the deceased corpse of Cliffjumper, intending to test the dark energon on him. "Let us see if power, born of darkness, can reignite the spark." He said, putting the purple shard in Cliffjumper's spark chamber and suddenly the body consumed it completely.
After that, the dead was alive, but it's was very different from the being that he was before. It had purple eyes, and let out a horrific screech before broken free from his restrains and attacked the nearest Decepticon. He rammed him like a bull and started destroying him slowly as another Decepticon soldier tried to shoot him, but the hits didn't make a single scratch and it went for him after finish with the first one. Megatron was pleased to see the results, unlike his terrified second-in-command.
"T-That's your plan?! Bring Autobots back from the dead to attack?!" Starscream asked, scared for his life.
"That is no longer a Autobot... It's just a mindless creature, which only instinct to destroy anything in its path." Megatron corrected.
After he finished with the troopers, the zombie lunged at Megatron and Starscream, but the silver seeker ran away quickly and the tyrant was fast enough to cut it in half with his sword, making it fall off the ledge.
"There, Starscream, rise of the indestructible seed of my army, the ultimate weapon." The zombie upper half was still hooked to the ledge, but then Megatron kicked it off down to a lower level of the cave. "Once I learn to control it."
Starscream walked next to Megatron, looked down at the half-body of Cliffjumper and smiles darkly; happy to see that his annoying red-horned rival is no more.
At that moment in the Autobot base, the computer showed an image of Cliffjumper and a pulse.
"Blasted Earth tech!" Ratchet cursed before looking at the others, "Cliffjumper's life signal just pop back online."
"Cliffjumper?" Leo was confused when he heard that name.
"Who's Cliffjumper?" Miko asked.
"How is that possible?" Optimus asked.
"It isn't. Another bug, the system's chock-full of them!"
"If there's a chance Cliffjumper's alive..." Arcee said, hoping that her friend is still alive and well.
"Cliffjumper has to be alive... R-Right?" BJ was the next to be hopeful.
"Ratchet, prepare sickbay, we might need it." Optimus said.
"Hey! What can we do?" Miko shouted.
"Remain with Ratchet" Prime answered, causing Miko and Ratchet to groan in disappointment. The doctor then activated the Ground-Bridge.
"Autobots, roll out!" Optimus called before all of them ran and transformed into vehicle form, driving into the vortex.
"Wow!" Leo was shocked to say the least.
"W-What just happened?!" Jack asked.
"I transported them to the designated coordinates by the ground bridge." Ratchet answered.
"What's a ground bridge?" Raf asked.
"Ugh... A scale down version of space bridge technology. It allows us to connect two places across the world and create a tunnel for two way travel. But since we don't currently possess the means or the energon required for intergalactic travel…"
"You're stuck here, on Earth." Jack finished.
"With the likes of you, yes... But I constructed the Ground Bridge to enable travel from here to anywhere on your planet."
"Woah. Does it work for humans?" Raf asked impressed by that invention.
"Naturally."
"You mean I could just hop on over and visit my parents on Tokyo?" Miko asked.
"Within moments. In fact, allow me to send you there immediately, all four of you." Ratchet asked, hoping to see if he can make some ground bridge research and so the four humans could leave.
"Watch it, Ratchet." Miko warned.
Energon Mine
The ground bridge opened inside the mine and the Autobots emerged and shifted back into robot form with their guns ready.
"Energon Mine..." Bulkhead stated.
"Woah... That's a lot of Energon..." BJ stated as well.
"Judging by its scale the Autobots have been tunneling here for quite some time." Optimus added.
Right in from of them the Autobots continuing to mine out the energon.
"Let's find Cliffjumper." Prime said as they approached them.
That made the miners run away while the soldiers prepared for combat. So are the Autobots. The team had no trouble getting through the first line of Decepticon soldiers, but they had a difficult time taking down the engineers armed with electric generators and the drill vehicles, fortunately Prime and Bulkhead had no problem with them. They continued advancing through the mine fighting Decepticons.
Inside the base, Ratchet was trying to be patient with the children, especially with Miko.
"What is this?" Miko asked looking a strange device.
"Broken, don't touch." The medic said. Miko tried to know what was it, but Ratchet seemed to be watching her without looking. "Don't touch that, either."
"Is there anything here we can touch?" Jack asked.
Ratchet tried to get access to the computer, but the screen showed an Access Denied window, which frustrated him.
"How come you guys are using human computers?" Leo asked.
"It certainly wasn't by choice, it was handed down from the previous tenants when we inherited this former missile silo, I make changes as I see fit."
That was when more of the systems went overload mode when all 'error' messages appeared out of nowhere, one by one. Ratchet groaned in angered seeing this.
"I think I can fix that." Raf said.
"Really? You know this is complex technology, don't you? I mean, it isn't a child's toy." Ratchet said while Raf was plugging his laptop and did something.
"Now try." Raf suggested.
The medic did so, and surprisingly all Access Denied disappeared and an Access Allowed appeared in its place, the screen was back to normal. He then looked back at Raf. "H-How did you...?"
"I have lots of free time." Raf answered.
Back to the mine, Team Prime eliminated the entire Decepticon squad, yet another wave was coming, so they decided to travel by fast way.
"Maximum overdrive!" Optimus said as he and the other Autobots changed to vehicle mode and pass through all their enemies.
They reached the center of the mine, so they changed form again and hid behind some creates.
"Wow... Cool." Blue Jacket said, amazed of this place.
"Yeah, quite the operation." Bulkhead agreed before they were bombed by the Decepticons' shots, but they began to fire back.
...
Inside the room of the Nemesis, The Decepticon Warlord stood before an entire chunk of dark energon.
"Blood of Unicron, how might I fathom the depths of your mysteries? Become worthy of wielding your astonishing power?"
"Lord Megatron, intruders have been detected in the mines." Starscream said through the communication terminal
"Optimus?"
"Indeed."
"I need more time to prepare an appropriate reception for my old friend. Ready the ship for departure."
"But the energon I've mined, the Autobots will seized it!" The SIC shouted.
"Then blow the mines!" Megatron ordered.
...
Inside the mine, the gunfight was still going on. That was when Arcee and Blue Jacket spotted a figure lying on the third level.
"Arcee, it's Cliffjumper!" BJ shouted.
Arcee then turned to Optimus, "We have a visual."
"We'll cover you, go!" Optimus ensured.
The autobots continued to shoot Vehicons, while Arcee and Blue Jacket transformed into their alternate mode and sped up a ramp and jumped in mid air and landed onto one of the levels of the Nemesis's elevator, while jumping towards the platform where the corpse was, with acrobatic skills.
When they got to the platform, BJ and 'Cee gasped when they saw Cliffjumper leaking purple energon. However, the vehicons were shooting at them once again, causing the platform to fall out, with Cliffjumper with it.
"Cliff!"
"I got the 'cons, Arcee. Get Cliffjumper!"
"Got it!"
Arcee ran to the fallen and grabbed Prowl's hand just in time and Blue Jacket was shooting the vehicons. They Cons started shooting back at Blue but Bumblebee blasted them. Meanwhile, Arcee pulled Cliffjumper up, while the autobots were blasting at the 'cons.
"Let's get you home, partner."
He looked at her, but his face was now very terrifying that she lost grip of him and his remains fell into a spike full of energon, killing him instantly. Then, there was a maniacal laugh, coming from Starscream, who had something in his hand.
All of the Autobots looked at him in anger.
"Prime! I'd stick around, but I'm squeamish."
He activated a bomb before letting go of it, which fell into the energon. He then jumped off the platform and transformed into his alternative mode and flew out of the energon mine.
"That's a time bomb!" BJ said.
"The joint's gonna blow!" Bulkhead added.
"Autobots, roll out!" Optimus ordered as all the team transformed and began to get away from the incoming explosion. "Ratchet, bridge us back. Use the arrival coordinates, now!"
A Ground-Bridge appeared and all Bots got through, just in time before the whole place exploded.
Arcee, Blue Jacket, Bumblebee, Bulkhead, and Optimus zoomed in to the base, in vehicle mode, and at high speeds. But what really caught the trio's attention was the bright blue conflagration tailing the Autobots. As soon as Optimus exited the portal, Ratchet quickly closed the groundbridge.
The red and blue titan transformed and skid across the floor thanks to his momentum. The kids could see soot, burnt marks, and scratches all over the Autobot warriors. However, it appeared to be nothing more than superficial.
"Cutting it a bit close," remarked Ratchet before he became more serious, "how 'bout Cliffjumper?"
Optimus, Blue, 'Bee, and Bulk looked down solemnly while 'Cee looked angry and scared of what she just saw. Jack, Leo, and Raf didn't need to ask as they could already see the answer on their facial plates. It was clear, whoever this Cliffjumper was, they were too late to save him.
"What was that explosion? Was there a fight? Can I go next time?" Miko asking without a pause at the wrong time.
"Look..." Arcee said angrily.
Fortunately before Miko could say another thing Jack cut in. "Hey Miko, let's go see what the Cons hide in the back storage."
"Seriously?"
Optimus took a step towards Arcee, who was hugging her chassis and looking at the floor.
"Arcee, what did you see?"
She hesitated for a moment, but eventually regained a few her bearings. "Not Cliff… at least… not anymore," She paused. "He was mutated, butchered… like one of those 'Con experiments during the war," Arcee tried fighting back tears. The two-wheeler then fell to a knee as she rested her head and arms on a concrete cube.
"(Arcee! Are you hurt?)" Bumblebee asked worried.
"I'm fine, just dizzy." She said.
"Robots who can get dizzy?" Miko asked.
"Robots with feelings." Raf observed.
"Robots... who can express themselves." Leo added.
"Robots…who can die." Jack stated.
They realized then that these robots… despite being made of metal and wires… were actually more sentient than they previously thought; they were human, in their own way.
That was when the medic saw something on Arcee's wrist. "What is this?" Ratchet muttered as he stared at the goo longer.
"Don't know. Cliff was covered in it, leaking it," Arcee replied.
The orange and white 'Bot took a scalpel from his subspace compartment on his waist and took a sample off of Arcee's wrist.
"Go take a decontamination bath, now," Ratchet advised.
Bumblebee and Blue Jacket then helped Arcee up and aided her to the decontamination room.
"Uh Optimus, I hate to bug, but, no bars." Jack said showing his phone.
"Security precaution, the silo walls isolate all radio waves." Optimus explained.
"Well, if I don't call my mom, like, now, I'm pretty sure the cops will be out looking for me."
Prime then became worried, "Have you broken a law?"
"No, curfew. It's after 10 pm."
"I better get home too, or I'll be grounded for a year." Raf expressed.
"Same here. I don't want my dad or uncle see that I'm gone this long..." Leo added.
"Earth customs, that I hadn't considered," Prime said, smiling a bit before getting serious again once he stood up, "But the issue of your safety remains." He then turned to Bulkhead, "Bulkhead, accompany Miko home."
"Awesome! My host parents will freak!" Miko said.
"And maintain covert surveillance, in vehicle form."
"Curbside duty, got it." Bulkhead said, causing Miko to groan as she really wanted to see her host parents' reactions once they see him in robot form.
Blue Jacket and Bumblebee came back from helping Arcee and went back to the main room of the base when Optimus got their attention.
"Bumblebee, you'll watch over Raf."
("Sure thing, Optimus"). Bee buzzed and nodded, while looking anxiously towards Raf.
"Blue Jacket, you'll take care of Leo."
"Uhhh, I-I don't know, Optimus," BJ said, being a little bit uneasy, "What if Agent Fowler finds out about this? I don't want to ruin this kid's life."
"Hey, bro. I appreciate what you're saying, but my life is already threaten and ruined than it already is." Leo said.
Optimus then continued, "You will remain in vehicle, so you don't have to worry. Besides, Agent Fowler is a busy man, there is no need for concern."
"O-Okay." BJ said, before he and Leo looked at each other in awkwardness.
"Ratchet..." Optimus began.
"Busy." Ratchet quickly said, not wanting to deal with human children.
"Arcee, you'll accompany Jack." Megatron called since she finally returned from the bath.
"Ohhhh...Still dizzy." Arcee said, trying to sound sick. However, Ratchet picked it right up.
"You're fine, says your physician."
Arcee only huffed out of mild annoyance and walked away.
Later
Blue Jacket was in his vehicle mode, giving Leo a ride back to his home. Things were getting quiet, so Leo decided to try to make pep talk.
"H-Hey, Blue Jacket." Leo said, getting his guardian's attention. "Sorry about what happen to your friend..."
"It's fine... " Blue said sadly. "It's like... the world is taking away my partners and friends, one by one."
Leo was thinking the right words before he could say it.
"H-How many did you have?" Leo asked.
Blue Jacket took a deep breath before answering Leo's question.
"I had a two war-friends back on Cybertron but they disappeared... Blowout and Stormcrusher. I had a team too... It was called the Delta Team. There was me... Firewing... Tailgate... and Arcee," He said, happily a bit before being said again, "She and I are the only ones left after the disbandment... After what happen to Firewing and Tailgate..."
"W-What happen to them?"
"T-They went to a better place..."
Leo then nodded, taking his answer. After a few minutes, they got to the house. Leo got out of Blue's vehicle mode.
"Thanks for the lift." Leo said.
"No problem"
That was when the front door open, with Dennis running towards his nephew. "Leo! Oh thank god, I'm so glad that you're safe!"
"I-I'm good, Uncle Dennis, I'm fine," He said before asking a question. "Um, where's your girlfriend?"
"Oh, she's at her house." The adult said until he saw the blue sports car, "Woah, woah, woah, Leo. When did you get a car?!"
"Uh...Ummm, I got it from an old friend of mine."
"Old friend?"
"Y-Yeah, umm, B-Blake Jones! Yeah, that guy."
"Ohhhhhh! That explains the call you were having yesterday when we were having dinner."
Leo sighed in relief, happy that his uncle fell for the trick. Of course, he wasn't off the hook yet.
"Either way, you know that you're dad would be upset to see this! You're 15 years old for god's sake!"
"Dennis! I've seen some 15 year-old driving some cars before, and I know I could too. Besides, this car is reused and my friend lent it to me as a gift."
The adult thought for a moment before making his decision. "Okay, fine. Since your dad's not here and I'm the only adult here, you can have your car. However, I'll list the rules you'll have to follow: Don't drink and drive, don't go when the red light is on, don't cause a car crash, don't start burning rubber, don't go tooo slow, and Most of ALL... Don't let my brother find out."
"Got it, Uncle Dennis... I got it."
The uncle then went into the house while BJ and Leo went inside of the garage.
...
Inside the Garage
After Leo took his autobot guardian to the Garage, he went upstairs so he could sleep. BJ had to admit, it was nice for Leo to let him see in the house until something else happens. Anyway, he started getting ready to sleep while still having sad memories of a dear friend...
'I-I'm sorry Cliff... I'm sorry for failing you twice.' Blue sadly said to himself.
The blue mech then went to sleep/recharge.
Jack's House
"Arcee, I just wanna say I'm sorry about your lost." Jack said.
"What could you possibly know about lost." Arcee asked, bitterly.
"What? You think you're the only one with problems?"
She shift to her robotic form. Having to stand on one knee, "I'm not sure girl trouble counts."
"I'm pretty sure my girl trouble started when I first met you."
They heard a white vehicle approaching. It was pulling up in the driveway.
"Cons!" She had her weapons aiming at the car.
"No! Mom." Jack ran out the garage. Arcee quickly changed back.
"Jack" Delia exited her car.
"Mom, don't panic I can explain."
"Can you?" She asked as she places her hands on her hips and walked into the garage up towards where Arcee was "Jackson Darby, we've talked about this."
"Yeah, I know," he said walking into the garage.
"You don't know," she said "I worry about you enough when you're not here. Now, I have to worry about you driving a motorcycle?"
"I'm 16," he said "I can't be driving a 10-speed forever."
"How did you even afford this?" She asked, looking at the motorcycle.
"This bike has been used. Abused really. Needs a ton of repair. The point is I may have been a kid when I walked from place to place but I'm not anymore. You always tell me to make responsible choices. And I chose her." His mother was still not assured. "I promise."
"Her? I didn't think you'd be bringing girls home just yet."
"I like to think she brought me," he added.
"Well, I'm glad you finally have a reason to wear your helmet, every single time you ride!" She warned him before walking towards the door to the inside of their house "You will take me for a spin every once in a while."
Arcee tilts her side-view mirror as Jack follows his mother, "We'll see," he said "She's kind of temperamental." He turns the light off and goes inside the house as the garage door closes.
...
The next morning
Arcee was revving up her engines. Jack then opened the house door, "Shh. Are you crazy? You'll wake up my mom!"
"Grab your helmet," she said "It's go time."
"But it's Saturday."
"You could watch cartoons with Bumblebee back at base."
"Ugh, cartoons. I'm sixteen." He went back in the house.
"And leave a note to your mom! She worries."
Leo Fowler's House
Leo was on his phone, listening to Melissa's words. She was worried about him a bit, not seeing him after school.
"Don't worry, Melissa, I'm fine." Leo started to say on the phone. "My uncle just needed me to do a few things in the house, that's all."
"Sorry, Leo." Melissa apologized on the phone. "You know how I worry about you."
"Yeah... I know. I'll see you later."
"Okay, bye Leo."
"Bye." Leo ended the call, putting the phone in his pocket. He knew that one of Sierra and Vince's friends would worry about him. But what was he supposed to do? Tell her that his dad is actually an agent and that transforming-robots are real? Anyway, he couldn't tell her about the Autobots' existence, knowing that it's supposed to be a secret and that she wouldn't believe him even if he told her.
'Well, better get myself ready to head to the base.' Leo said in his mind. He got himself dressed, brushed his teeth, and headed downstairs, heading to the garage where Blue Jacket was.
...
Blue Jacket was still in his vehicle mode, finished sleeping and waiting for Leo Fowler to show up. Things went from good to bad, from bad to worse, from worse to okay. He lost a few friends along the way in the war back on Cybertron, but losing Cliffjumper affected him a lot, but not as much as Arcee. At least he was trying to keep on fighting for the Autobots. He promised himself to keep on going after seeing Firewing die by the hands of the Decepticons.
"Hmmm... Where is he?" Blue Jacket said out loud. Before he could even honk, Leo opened the door that led to the garage and pressed the button, which open the huge metal garage door.
"Hey, Blue Jacket. Sorry it took so long." Leo said.
"It's okay... You got everything?"
"Yep"
"Okay then. Let's go."
"Sure thing." Leo said, getting in the vehicle. Once the boy got inside, Blue Jacket got out of the house and drove towards the road.
The Nemesis
In the Dark Energon chamber Megatron and Starscream observed the Blood of Unicron. "I don't think you need worry about further Autobot interference, Master. Not with Optimus gone."
"And what evidence do you possess of this fact?"
"I destroyed the mines as you instructed."
"Optimus is not so easily destroyed. We have millennia worth of battles behind us to prove it."
"Maybe you should take a break, my Lord. I fear that the too much contact with the Dark Energon might allow it's properties to greatly you."
"Oh perhaps, Starscream. I have not permitted myself contact enough!" Without warning Megatron ripped of a piece of the Dark Energon.
"Wait, Lord Megatron! No! Not your spark chamber! You do not know what it will do!" Too late though. Megatron place the shard it in his spark chamber. Soon Megatron's whole body was consumed with Dark Energon.
Autobot Base
Ratchet continued his work on the purple substance. "The base elements on this goo are like nothing like I ever encountered. Must have been extremely concentrated to affect Arcee so rapidly." He used tongs the pick up the glass that contained the purple substance. "Unfortunately complete results are slow without the use of proper diagnostic tools. Thank you very much, Bulkhead."
What he didn't realize that a drop of it fell onto the mechanical arm that Bulkhead broke. Then the arm absorbed the purple goo until it was able to get up and walk.
Once again, this chapter is new and updated! Hope y'all like it! God Bless us All!
