The next day Chloé woke up later than she had the day before. It was still early, but not so bad. She wasn't entirely used to the new timezone she was in, but as long as she could fall asleep and wake up early it was just a matter of time before she got used to it.

She ate breakfast and went back up to her room to get ready for the day. She got dressed and put on some makeup and placed her new phone in her purse after answering Zoé's text she had sent Chloé about when and where they were going to meet.

She didn't know anything about the restaurant Zoé had arranged their lunch at, but she knew where it was and didn't bother telling her sister about it. In the end it didn't matter if they went to the junkyard, as long as Chloé would spend som time with her sister she'd enjoy it.

She went out and sat on the balcony to wait until she had to leave. It was a beautiful day, and warm too, so she didn't have to worry about Zoé's health more than she already did. If it had been raining, Chloé would probably have cancelled their lunch so that her sister wouldn't catch a cold and get even sicker.

Chloé left the balcony when the time was getting close to their lunch and went back inside. She took her purse and made sure that she had her phone and everything else with her and hoped that she would have enough money left on her card so that she could pay for their lunch.

She left her room and went downstair to the lobby before she left the hotel and started walking toward the restaurant.

The closer she was getting to it the more she started thinking about her sister. Would Zoé look the same since last time Chloé had seen her? Chloé had read all about treatments for cancer and so on to prepare for what she could expect. She didn't know exactly what type her sister had or what kind of treatment she got. But at least Chloé knew a little and could ask as long as Zoé was comfortable talking about it.

Maybe that was a topic Chloé should avoid? She didn't know what she would do, she just knew she had to be there for her sister and let her know that Chloé would do anything for her, whenever or whatever.

As Chloé was nearing the restaurant, she could see a young blonde woman standing by the entrance and the closer she got the more sure she was that it was Zoé.

From what Chloé could see her sister looked the same, maybe a bit paler, but the summer were just starting and that would change if she got out in the sun a little bit more. Zoé didn't look sick, at least not until she started coughing so extremely that she had to bend over to get som air.

Chloé rushed over to her sister.

"Zoé? Are you alright? Do I need to call someone?" Chloé asked as she didn't know what she had to do.

Her sister shook her head and kept coughing. A few people that walked past them looked at Zoé with the same concern that Chloé knew could be found in her own face. But no one stopped to see if they could do anything, they probably knew they couldn't.

When the coughing finally stopped Zoé stood up and gave Chloé a tired smile.

"I'm sorry about that. When it starts, it's almost impossible to make it stop. Sometimes it feels like I'm on the way to cough up my lungs." Zoé explained calmly and dried the blood that were stained on her lips with a napkin she took out from her pocket and when Zoé saw the red on it she made a disgusted face.

"Do we need to go somewhere?" Chloé asked.

"No. That happens sometimes." Zoé said and forced a smile.

As Chloé saw her sister walk past her toward the restaurant entrance, she realised that Zoé shouldn't probably be out among people if she was getting a treatment that made her immune system weaker.

"Hey!" Chloé said to catch her sister's attention. "Maybe we can buy takeout and go to your apartment? We don't have to stay and eat at the restaurant."

Zoé stopped and turned towards her. For a moment it looked like she was going to decline Chloés offer, but seemed to agree on it a moment later.

"That sounds like a good idea. I was thinking we could go and get some dessert too, so maybe we can order our food and do that before we go to my apartment?" Zoé asked.

Chloé nodded and smiled at her sister before they entered the restaurant.

They ordered their food and Chloé made sure to pay for it all. She still had some money at her account and could possible pay for the dessert as well. She felt like it was worth more spending her last money on her sister than herself. Chloé had never done it before, but it wasn't too late to start doing it.

When they left the restaurant with their food, they walked down the street in silence. Her sister was starting to look a little bit more pale, but she wasn't coughing anymore. Not that it made anything better.

"Are you just taking it easy for now?" Chloé asked her sister.

"Yes. My doctor doesn't want me to work, so I'm just staying at home watching movies and reading." Zoé explained.

"Don't sound that bad if you ask me." Chloé said and felt as if she'd said something wrong when she looked at her sister upset face. It only took Chloé a moment to realise exactly what Zoé had given up when she got sick. "I'm sorry about your role in that tv series."

"I was looking forward to it." Zoé said.

"I know."

As Chloé didn't know where they were heading she let Zoé take the lead. They were slowly moving toward the place where her old school where at. Chloé thought long about a bakery that were in that area and the only one that came to mind where the bakery that belonged to Marinette's parents.

Chloé didn't say anything about it though. She knew Zoé and Marinette were friends, so it made sense if Zoé wanted to buy something for dessert from that bakery.

When they arrived to the bakery, they entered and Zoé walked straight ahead to the front desk while Chloé stopped by the door and took in the lovely scent of freshly baked cookies and cakes. It was a long time since she'd been at a bakery, so she really wanted to enjoy every second.

As Chloé heard a greeting to them, not really paying any real attention to it, she started walking after her sister and when she arrived to the front desk and noticed who was standing there, she couldn't hide the surprise even if it made sense. The bakery did belong to Marinette's parents, so it wasn't that strange seeing Marinette there.

"I thought you worked at Gabriel's." Chloé told Marinette.

"I'm free on Thursdays." Marinette explained.

Chloé nodded and turned to her sister.

"What do you want?" Chloé asked her.

Zoés eyes were roaming around each cake, cupcake and cookie that stood in front of her. She didn't say a word as she hadn't yet decided what to pick. If Chloé hadn't been on the edge of being broke, she would have bought her sister anything she wanted. But Chloé couldn't make such a promise today. Instead, she stood by in silence and watched her sister with a small smile on her lips.

"What are you two planning to do today?" Marinette asked.

"We are eating lunch at Zoé's place." Chloé answered.

When Zoé heard her name being said she stood up and faced the two of them. It was like she had forgotten that they were there with her and a shy expression showed up at Zoé's face.

"I don't mean to take that long to decide. It's just so much I haven't tried yet." she explained.

"It's fine." Chloé answered. "Take all the time you need."

"I can recommend our strawberry cheesecake. It's very common, but it tastes like heaven." Marinette said and walked over toward the section where all the cheesecakes were at.

As Zoé moved Chloé followed and looked down at the cheesecake Marinette were pointing at. I looked like it would taste delicious and when Zoé turned towards her to see what she thought about it Chloé decided to be honest.

"It looks good, and I trust that Marinette knows what she's talking about."

With those words Zoé nodded and turned to Marinette.

"I think we will get it." Zoé said.

"A good decision, if I say so myself. I will pack it for you." said Marinette and started working on packing the cheesecake for them.

"It's almost as if I want to ditch the lunch and go directly to the dessert." Zoé said in a jokingly manner even if Chloé could see that there were some truth in her words.

"Well. We are both adults, right?" Chloé said and smiled at her sister before she turned around and walked towards the bakery's checkout.

Chloé knew that Zoé would try to pay for their cheesecake, but Chloé was sure that she had enough money left to pay for it herself. This was the least she could do to her sister.

When Marinette got to the checkout with their cake, she placed it at the desk and started typing on the cash register. After she had done that for some moments, she looked up and was about to say something, but her gaze fell on something behind Chloé and fear showed up in Marinette's face.
