"Zoé?" Marinette said alarmed.

The moment Chloé realised that something were wrong with her sister she turned around and found out exactly why Marinette had looked so scared.

Zoé stood there pale-faced, with blood streaming down from both of her nostils. Her eyes were big and had the same kind of fear that Chloé were sure could be found at herself. As Zoé slowly reached up toward her face she started swinging and when she fell Chloé didn't hesitate to run toward her.

Chloé caught her sister the second before she collided with the floor and as she were sitting there and holding onto her unconscious sister the only thing she could do were to cry.

After a few moments Marinette showed up by her side and Chloé realised that she wasn't alone. Marinette sat down next to her and held her phone toward her ear. Chloé noticed that Marinette was talking to someone on her phone and for a second she wanted to scold Marinette for not helping her with Zoé, but she soon understood who exactly it was Marinette were talking with.

"They want to know if this has happened before." Marinette said and looked at Chloé.

She shook her head. She didn't know if it had happened before. She had been in New York, away from her sister and lived a selfish life only caring about herself.

"She's sick." Chloé said through the tears. "She's got cancer."

When Marinette heard Chloé's words, she almost dropped her phone just as Chloé had done when she first had heard about her sister's disease. But Marinette held a firm hold on her phone and explained to the dispatcher what Chloé had just said.

Marinette clicked on her phone and put it away before she reached toward Zoé's face and pinched her nose. As she put her phone away, a voice from a woman filled the otherwise silenced bakery with sounds and direction to what the two of them had to do until the ambulance got to them.

Both she and Marinette succeded in doing exactly as they were told. Chloé made sure that Zoé didn't lie down flat on the ground and Marinette pinched her nose to stop the bleeding. None of them said a word to each other, but they did exchange glances every now and then to ensure that the other person were okay.

When the sirens started sounding in the distance Chloé breathed out and relaxed a bit knowing that the real help would soon turn up. She did what little she could and were thankful that Marinette helped as well. But neither of them were medics.

When the doors to the bakery opened and the paramedics came inside they took over and started helping Zoé.

As she stood up and backed away Marinette turned up next to her and the both of them stood there in silence and looked and what were happening in front of them. When the paramedics got Zoé up on a stretcher and started carrying her out of the bakery Chloé followed after.

"Is she going to be alright?" she asked one of the paramedics.

"She's in good hands." the paramedic answered.

Chloé backed away when the parademics got inside the ambulance after getting Zoé inside and as the ambulance started driving away she realised she could have asked if she could come wtih them. She didn't know how long she stood there before the doors to the bakery opened and Marinette came outside.

"Chloé, come." Marinette said in a low voice and took hold on Chloé's arm and started leading her back into the bakery.

Chloé didn't have the will to pull away from Marinette's hold and she didn't want to be alone either. So she followed Marinette in a got a bit surprised to see Marinette's mother standing in the middle of the bakery, cleaning up the mess that were left on the floor.

Chloé stopped and looked at the floor before she turned to Marinette's mother.

"I can clean it." she heard herself say.

Marinette's mother, Sabine was her name if Chloé remembered right, just shook her head and gave Chloé a reassuring, but a bit sad, smile.

"Don't worry about it, Chloé. It's no trouble." Sabine said.

The only thing Chloé could do was to nod before Marinette led her through the bakery and out of a door which took them to a stairway. Neither of them said a word as they started walking up the stairs and inside what Chloé assumed were Marinette's home.

"The bathroom is there." Marinette pointed toward a closed door and Chloé realised why she was directed to the bathroom.

Chloé opened the door and didn't bother closing it after her. The lights went on, and she avoided looking at herself in the mirror the best she could. She cleaned her hands and let all the red disappear from them. When she was done with it she looked at herself in the mirror and cringed when she saw that she had some red smeared there as well.

When she had cleaned herself, she removed her jacket which had been stained. She couldn't clean it now, so instead she decided to tie it around her waist. She exited the bathroom and were not the least surprised that Marinette walked up to her and hugged her.

Chloé had been surprised if it had happened years ago, that she could admit. But now? Marinette had been there when Zoé got sick and had seen everything. She even knew that Zoé was sick, something that Zoé probably held to helself rather then letting people know so they could be there for her and help her.

Marinette let go of her and took a step away.

"Are you alright?" she asked.

"I'm great." Chloé answered bitterly.

"Chloé." Marinette said in a not so amused tone.

"Let's see here. I quit my work in New York and came back to Paris to be here for my sick sister. My mother took all my money from my bank account, which made me ask my dad for money and that was something my stepmother didn't like very much. I almost got robbed, which you know and now my sister is dying. As I said just moment's ago. I'm great." Chloé said and didn't hide how upset she was over all the things that had happened this week and it was only Thursday.

"I'm sorry that all of this happened to you Chloé. I don't think Zoé is dying. I know it looked bad, but she's in good care now and I'm sure everything will be alright." Marinette said and gave Chloé the same reassuring look Sabine had given her earlier.

"I think I need to leave." Chloé said and headed towards the door.

"Are you sure? Do you want me to call a taxi?" Marinette said as she followed her.

"No. I don't need one." Chloé explained.

She headed down the stairs and walked through the door that led into the bakery.

She noticed that Sabine were done with her cleaning and were in the backroom of the bakery. So Chloé took the moment and gathered her things, and her sister's things that had been left behind. She didn't bother with the cheesecake as she hadn't bought it and turned toward Marinette where she stood.

"Thank you for everything." Chloé said.

Marinette nodded.

"It's no trouble. Do You want me to walk with you? I don't think you should be alone." Marinette said in a unsure tone and glanced toward the backroom where her mother were.

"I will be fine, trust me. Thanks anyway." Chloé said and left the bakery before Marinette had a chance to say something else.

She walked toward her father's hotel, but slowed down the closer she got it and finally stopped when she realised that she didn't want to go there. She would have to tell her father about what had happened and if she had to talk so soon about it she knew she would break down.

Instead, she decided to go to the destination she and her sister would have headed to if nothing had happened. She knew the adress and where it was at. What she didn't know were if someone where there. Her sister wasn't, that much she knew. But maybe one of Zoé's roomates were home?

Chloé headed toward her sister's appartment and reached it a few minutes later. It was closer to the hotel as she had previously thought, which was a nice surprise. She would be able to visit her sister whenever it were possible then with the short distance between them.

She entered the building and went up a pair of stairs until she reached the floor where Zoé's appartment were at. She walked up to the door with the number eleven on it and knocked.

Moments went by, and she heard nothing from the other side. Maybe no one were home? It was in the middle of the day, so maybe her sister's roommates were at work or something? That would make sense.

As she turned around and was about to leave the door opened and she faced the person standing there.

"Chloé?" Rose said and sounded both surprised and a bit excited. "What a wonderful surprise! How are you?"

For a moment Chloé just stood there and stared down at her former classmate. Even if Chloé just stood there in silence Rose didn't seem too bothered by that and flashed a bright and happy smile at Chloé as if she were the kindest soul Rose had ever met.

"I think Zoé went out a hour ago. But if you want you can come in and wait for her inside." Rose said and moved to the side to let Chloé enter.

The only thing Chloé could do was to nod before she entered the apartment and looked around as she stood in the hall together with Rose. It was a really nice apartment and bigger than she thought it would be. It was cleaned and had a faint scent of lemon.

"Come on in." Rose said as she walked inside and walked straight toward the living room at the end of the hallway.

Chloé placed her things on the hall floor before she went deeper inside in the apartment. She passed a few closed doors and walked by the kitchen before she reached the living room. She sat down on the sofa Rose were seated at.

"I didn't know you where back from New York. Are you here visiting your father?" Rose asked and smiled at Chloé.

Chloé shook her head and looked away. Her gaze fell on a framed picture that were seated on a bookshelf. She couldn't see who was on the picture from where she was seated., but from what she could see it was from a wedding. She stood up and walked toward the picture. The closer she got the more she could see. She recognised most people on the picture as her former classmates and felt a sting of jealousy when she realised that she could have been there if things had been different, if she had been different when they were younger.

"When did you and Juleka get married?" Chloé asked.

Chloé's gaze fell on Luka who had the biggest smile on his face as he stood by his sister. She couldn't help but smile herself when she saw him, but let the smile fade away quickly. Chloé turned around walked back to the sofa when she found her own sister on the picture.

"Last fall." Rose answered with a fond smile.

"You both looked lovely." Chloé said.

"Thank you."

Maybe she should have walked directly to her father's hotel instead? Even if this was her sister's apartment, she still shared it with Rose and probably Juleka as well. Chloé didn't belong here.

"I can call Zoé and let her know that you are here if you want. I know she's been looking forward to meeting you, so she will be back in no time." Rose offered and took up her phone to call Zoé.

"I was with her." Chloé said to stop Rose from calling Zoé.

"You were?" Rose said surprised. "Where is she?"

Chloé took a deep breath.

"She got sick and was taken to the hospital. I just came by to leave her things." Chloé explained.

"Oh no." Rose said and placed both her hands in front of her mouth.

"You know she's sick right?" Chloé asked Rose who nodded. "I only found out about it a few days ago. That's why I'm here. I want to be there for my sister."

Rose nodded yet again and removed her hands from her mouth. She gave Chloé a sad gaze and lowered her head.

"I hope it's nothing serious." Rose said. "I know it's just the flu, but it's still something you should take seriously."

"The what?" Chloé asked surprised.

"The flu?" Rose said a bit unsure. "That's what Zoé's got."

The only thing Chloé could do was to stare at Rose. Had Zoé not told one single person about her having cancer? Why would she stay quiet about something so serious? Didn't she know she needed people around her?

As tears were forming in Chloé's eyes she pushed all those thoughts away. She didn't want to get angry at her sister at the moment when she knew she was at the hospital. Instead, she blinked her tears away and turned to Rose who looked at her with a confused gaze.

"Zoé's got cancer." Chloé said and tried to hide how difficult it was to say it out loud.

"What?"

Rose looked at her with a shocked expression that soon turned into to something between worry and helplessness. Rose didn't cry, though, something Chloé had expected.

"Why wouldn't she tell us?" Rose asked.

"I guess she didn't want us to worry..." Chloé answered.

The only thing Rose did was to nod. Her gaze left Chloé a moment later and she looked out of the window next to her. After a few moments of silence Rose turned back to Chloé and seemed to have gained some faith after hearing the horrible news about her roommate.

"I know that there's a lot of good doctor's here in Paris. I cant say I wont worry about Zoé. But both Juleka and me will be there for her and look after her. I promise that if something happens, I will reach out to you and let you know." Rose said and gave Chloé a reassuring smile.

The only thing Chloé could do was to smile. It felt a little bit better knowing that someone else would look after Zoé as well. She just hoped that the thing that had happened at the bakery wouldn't happen again. She hoped her sister would get better and not worse.
