She stepped out from her room minutes before the clock turned 10 pm. For a moment she had thought about going out on her balcony and transform there, but she figured it was safer to do so in an alley on the street instead. She didn't know if any of the heroes were in the area on any of the rooftops of the buildings closeby. She didn't want to take a chance, even if it was dark enough outside. She just got her Miraculous back and she wanted to keep it for as long as possible.

As she left the hotel behind, she walked for a couple of minutes before she reached an alley which was in an area less people were at. She walked into the alley and was about to open her purse to let Pollen out when she heard steps come toward her from behind.

She turned around quickly but before she had a chance to do something a fist collided into her face and she staggered backwards before she fell down on the ground .

Her face hurt and something wet ran from her nose. After seeing what had happened with her sister at the bakery she knew she'd never want to see a nosebleed ever again, but she knew that was exactly what she had at the moment and it made her sick.

She barely had any time to look up before she got another hit on her face, but this time it didn't hurt as much it had before. She didn't think her nose was broken even if it felt like it.

"I saw you on the news earlier." a voice told her.

Even if she had been hit when she looked up earlier she felt like she had to take another chance just to see who it was that had hurt her. She did recognise the voice, but it didn't feel that familiar, so she doubted it belonged to someone she knew.

When she looked up it took her a moment to get used to the darkness in the alley to be able to see the man standing in front of her. He looked at her as if he only had one goal in mind and that was to destroy her.

"Who are you?" she asked the man.

He leaned forward and put his hand on her throat. He didn't have a tight hold on her throat, but it was enough to scare her. She tried to move away from him, but he held her in place and forced her to look at him.

"Don't you recognise me?" the man asked.

She shook her head.

"Maybe this will make you remember." the man said and brought out a knife from his pocket with his free hand.

He took the knife and held it between them for a moment before a evil smirk showed up on his lips. He moved the knife toward her face and put the blade on her cheek and held it there.

She wanted to scream but she feared that if she moved he'd cut her. She didn't want to sound shallow, but she didn't want to get a scar on her face.

"Do you remember now?" he asked.

When she didn't give him an answer, he pressed the knife even more to her face and almost made it feel like the blade cut through her skin. She hoped it didn't, but knew it was a possibility.

"Are you so stupid that you sent Ladybug after me?" he asked her.

"Ladybug?" she managed to say.

"Yes. She chased me down and brought me to the police. But because I hadn't done anything, I was let go. I have been waiting for you to step outside all day so that I can finish what I wasn't able to do last time." the man told her.

Now she knew who he was. He was the man that had tried, but failed, to rob her in the park. That time it had been light outside and she had fought back. This time it was dark outside, and he had surprised her, which made her think that she was doomed.

"Chloé Bourgeois, you don't have to hide your identity anymore." he said and examined her from head to toe. "It doesn't look like you have anything for me to take this time either."

He removed the knife from her face and let go of her throat a second later. For a moment it looked like he would leave, but he stayed and looked down at her with annoyance.

"Stand up." he demanded.

She stood up slowly on her shaky legs and forced herself to not fall down. It wasn't that far to the street, but she'd have to get through him before she reached it and he was armed, something she wasn't. But staying here wasn't an option.

He took a step closer to her and held up his knife as if he was about to cut her down. But before he had a chance to do it something fell from above and landed between them.

"What's going on here?"

Chloé breathed out when she recognised the hero standing in front of her and realised that she was saved.

"Just some old friends catching up." the man answered.

"You want me to believe that?" Carapace asked.

"It's the truth, right Chloé?" the man said.

She took a step backward when the man said her name. Carapace looked over his shoulder and didn't seem the least surprised that Chloé didn't give him an answer. Anyone could probably see how terrified she was.

Before anyone could do something, the man turned around and started running toward the street. Carapace was about to go after him, but Chloé stoped him from doing that.

"Please don't leave me." she begged.

Carapace turned toward her and tried to give her a reassuring smile, which failed to make her feel the least reassured. When she noticed that his gaze fell on something behind Chloé, she slowly turned around expecting to see the man there even if it was impossible.

"I will go after that man. You stay here with her." Carapace said to the one behind Chloé.

Chloé looked at Carapace when he hurried away and left her alone with Viperion.

"Are you alright?" Viperion asked.

She didn't look at him and only shook her head. She wasn't alright. She would probably never be alrightever again, at least that's how it felt. There were a lot of horrible things going on in her life, and it seemed like everything would just get even worse. Was this karma for all the bad thing's she's done in her life?

"Hey?"

She noticed that Viperion had walked up to her, but she couldn't dare to look at him. Instead, she just stood there looking toward the street and hoping for something good to happen.

"Chloé?" Viperion said and sounded worried.

She slowly turned toward Viperion and locked eyes with him. She noticed the green in them and wondered why she'd never noticed that his eyes were green before. She blinked and looked away.

"Are you hurt?" he asked.

She made a gesture to her face.

"Do you need to go to the hospital?" he asked.

"No."

"Do you want me to take you home?"

Did she want to go home? No, she didn't. The last thing she wanted was to walk into the lobby and accidentally meet her father. He would freak out if he saw her right now.

"Yes." she said.

She waited for something to happen, but when she noticed that Viperion was just standing there she turned toward him.

"Is it okay if I carry you?" he asked.

"Yes." she said.

He moved closer to her and didn't have any problem picking her up and holding her in his arms. Chloé would lie if it didn't feel nice being held by Viperion, but she would never tell that to anyone. He started moving and headed toward her father's hotel by moving through nearby roofs to get there.

As they were getting closer, Chloé realised that she had to tell him not to let her down by the entrance.

"Can you take me to the balcony outside my room?" she asked Viperion.

"Sure." he answered.

After a few more minutes they finally reached her father's hotel and she let him know where the right balcony was and took her there. He jumped down at it and let her go a moment later.

"Thanks." she said.

"Are you going to be alright?" Viperion asked.

She was about to enter her room, trying to avoid any conversation they could have after he took her home. But like everything else she tried to avoid nowadays it didn't work. Why did she even bother?

She turned around and was a bit surprised over seeing Viperion standing closer than neccesary to her. She didn't feel like telling him to back away when she knew that his presence made her feel safer.

"It feels like I have entered a part in my life where everything just gets worse for each day that pass. I hope I just have a really bad week, but looking back how the week have been so far I wonder if things actually can get better." Chloé explained and wondered for a moment why she was telling Viperion anything about that.

Sure, she had had quite similar conversations with him when she had been Queen Bee, but as Chloé? She could not remember ever having a civil conversation with any hero except for Ladybug. Well, she claimed that she had changed and knew she had done better the last couple of years. It was always a first for everything, right?

"I'm sure it's just this week." Viperion said.

"I hope so." Chloé muttered.

He reached out his hand to her face, but before he touched it he stopped himself and gave her a look as if he was asking for permission.

She nodded once, and his warm hand grabbed her chin. He slowly tilted her face upwards and leaned in. For a moment Chloé thought he was going to kiss her and wondered if she should stop it, but he didn't kiss her. Instead, he took a better look at her face and seemed to see if there was some more serious damage there.

His gaze stayed a few extra seconds at the place on her face where the man had held his knife, and she wondered if he had left a mark there or not. Before she had a chance to ask Viperion about that he let go of her chin and let one finger slide down the place where the knife had been held at and she knew by the way his face changed expression that she had some kind of mark there.

"Is it bad?" she asked.

"I don't think so." Viperion said and pulled his hand away from her face.

He took one step back and forced a smile.

"I hope you never have to meet that man ever again." he said.

"I hope so too."

Chloé wanted to tell him to stay and keep her company for the rest of the night, but she didn't. It would only seem strange. Instead, she let Viperion leave and watched him until he disappeared. It was only then she turned around and walked inside to fix the damage that had been done on her face the best she could.
