Yes, her book is mentioned. But I did not include any of her material. The book was briefly mentioned, I Respect her wishes.

October 31st, 2007.

"Hello, this is the Crooked Willow," said a masculine voice. It's 8:30, and the man sounds exhausted.

God, please don't stutter. "Hey, are you guys um… Still open? I know it's Halloween, but I'm looking for this book."

"Yes, we're open until 10 tonight." Even over the phone, the voice sounded smooth.

"I'll be there in ten minutes, thanks," I said, hanging up. This past week I ran into an old family friend while picking up groceries, and during our conversation, he recommended a book to me.

The Interview with the Vampire, by Anne Rice. I wasn't too sure about getting it, but it is the season of monsters.

Charlie told me about this place, He said he'd been going ever since he was a kid. He's not really into books, but he found books for a good price. It's on the edge of town, down a road covered in willow trees, and moss.

Taking off my jacket, I turned the key. My truck roared to life, Switching on my headlights. I start heading down some back roads, trying to avoid kids trick or treating.

Down the dark road I see a sign hanging from a tree, 'The Crooked Willow' with an old tree logo. This is it. Turning down the dark road I'm greeted by a green, large Victorian-looking house. The only thing that distinguishes it is the lamps and books in the window.

I parked in one of the parking spaces outside, before making my way up the creaky stairs. This place must've been a house, before a shop.

I open the dark wood door, To be greeted by books, candles, and Halloween decorations everywhere.

"Hello?" Please tell me someones in here. This used to be a house, Probably renovated. There was a desk covered with books, and a bookbinding set, with a lamp illuminating the entryway. I couldn't help but feel at home surrounded by all of these books, but I had a strange feeling in my gut.

I flinched, hearing footsteps coming from the ceiling above me. A man came down the staircase, walking to the desk. Once he was in the light of the lamp, his unnatural beauty now visible.

Beautiful reddish-brown hair, slender but muscular, and shocking golden eyes. His eyes were a little wide, but his shy smile was inviting. The man seemed…hesitant.

He looks around my age, maybe even a little older. I still haven't started school, Just moved back to Forks last week. I wanted to have some time to settle in before going back.

"Hello, Is there anything I can help you with?" His voice was shocking. Velvety and Deep, almost calming. He gave me a light reassuring smile, waiting for my response.

"Yes… I'm looking for a book" I said quietly, internally relieved that I didn't stutter.

"I believed we talked on the phone, May I ask what book?" He noticeably breathed in, almost like he was holding it.

"Interview with the Vampire" I looked into his eyes. "Anne Rice" I swear his eyes went wide for a moment before his smile slowly disappeared.

"I think we do….May I ask why you're Interested?" There was a slight hint of curiosity in his eyes.

"Well it is Halloween, and something about vampires sparked my interest." he visibly took a deep breath. Before giving me a hesitant smile.

"Right this way," He said before walking to a room, with a narrow entryway.

He was wearing a dark grey sweater, and dress pants. His Muscular body was noticeable, as he walked through the narrow doorway.

The bookshelves were made of dark oak, I couldn't help but skim my finger along the book spines. The room was lit by lanterns and lamps around the room.

"No fun plans tonight," he asked, trying to make small talk.

"Um…no all of my friends are at some party," taking in a shuddered breath. He's inhumanly handsome under candlelight, but I can't shake the feeling that something's off.

"So why aren't you there?" He asked curiously.

"It's not my…place I guess, I don't really like parties"

"Something we have in common" his back was to me, but I could tell he was smirking.

"Um… What's your name?" He stopped, turning towards me. My heart skipped a beat, asking for a name isn't intrusive? Right?

A small smile spread across his face. "Edward, Edward Masen. May I ask for your name"

"Isabella, Isabella Swan" I reached my hand out towards him.

A look of uncertainty spread across his smooth face. Before I put my hand back at my side, he slowly put his hand in mind.

Cold. Gasping, I pulled my hand back.

"Sorry" He mumbled.

"It's alright," I tried giving him a small smile. But inside my mind was turning, How could he feel cold? He was in a sweater.

Turning to the shelf on the right, He plucked out a gold-colored book.

"Here we are" He gave me a reassuring smile. "Are you looking for anything else?"

He made me anxious, But I didn't want to leave. It would be awkward if I stayed.

"No that's all" He walked past me, leading me back to his desk.

"How much do I owe you?" Pulling out my wallet from my jeans. He scribbled down the title and author of the book in a log, His handwriting elegant, and…old?

"Nothing…I want to hear what you think about it. Vampires…and all" His brilliant smile shone through the lamplight.

"Deal…Well, happy Halloween Edward." I said with a smile.

"Happy Halloween, Isabella" A shiver ran down my back. I knew I would be back, I…I had to pay for the book.

Clutching the book to my chest, I gave him a little smile before turning back to the door.

I hopped in my truck, quickly glancing at the house. I saw him through the window talking to someone, I didn't hear someone else in the shop?

He quickly made eye contact through the window, Looking at me curiously. I gave him a little wave before driving back down the path to the road.

Arriving back home, I sighed before hopping out. Charlie's cruiser wasn't in the driveway, he must be at the station.

Looking through the pantry I found a pack of mac and cheese and fetched out a pot.

Filling the pan with water and turning on the heat, I went upstairs to change into pajamas while the water boiled.

Pulling back my hair sitting down at the table, I opened the book.
