Boy that Mr. Belmond, he was a pure self-righteous douchebag but Cody and the others brushed it off because if sounds like everyone in town doesn't like this guy (maybe except for Mormons and nuns). It was no surprise that Belmond had little to no friends or followers at all, unless it was a church congregation.

All that mattered was that Stolas' name was cleared. Now everyone's' lives can go back to normal as it should be.

Playing video games, Cody was having fun and won second place in Call of Duty. "Yeah! We won!" Cody congratulated himself. Loona went up to the couch and sat next to him. "You feeling ok, Cody?"

"Yeah, I'm on, Loona." Said the boy in reply. "Why wouldn't I be?"

"The way you fainted in the courtroom like that."

"I promise, I'm fine." Cody reassured her. "It was a little scary, but it went smoothly."

"Yeah it did." Loona smirked

"So do you think we'll see Andrealphus again?"

"For our sake, I hope not."

"He's very creepy."

"Yeah, but many demons down here are creepy so, it shouldn't be surprising."

"True. And that was a little scary, but that was nowhere near as me being kidnapped by Verosika, or that crazy family,"

"Oh come on." Said Loona, "don't sweat it."

"My dad did say everything happens for a reason."

"He's probably right there." Loona agreed.

"Did my parents dying happen for a reason?"

The female hellhound then frowned at him. "I honestly don't know. I mean, that was an accident obviously. But at least Jesus is taking care of them in heaven." she wrapped her arm around the kids' shoulder for some comfort and support. "So, speaking of which, i have good news." Cody looked at her to know what it was. She smiled in a big grin, and added: "I'm going to take you in today.

Cody's eyes widened and he asked: "You mean, you're going to officially adopt me now?"

Loona nodded to him. "Uh-huh." she said. "Just need to sign some papers to make it official, and we'll be all set."

The boy gasped with excitement. At last, he was going to be under the full guardianship of Loona, and while it took a little while; it was so worth the wait for him. After all, he was one of the very first friends Loona made in her life. And she did love him like he was her own little brother that she never had before in her life. "That's good. So where do we sign?"

"Well, we'll hit at Stolas' place to do the paperwork. But, you're a kid so you don't have to do that obviously. Because kids shouldn't have to do all that paperwork."

"Yeah, i mean, it's boring." said Cody. "How can people even do all of that stuff without falling asleep?"

"No idea, honestly." the female hellhound admitted. "I'm surprised many people haven't fallen asleep from doing boring paperwork like that. Conformity, that's what it is. Just as bad as school."

"well, school's ok." said Cody, "but it's waking up in the morning that annoys many people."

"True that. Many people are not morning people, and I am one of them." She chuckled as she remembered one of the times she was woken up from her beauty naps as work (even if she wasn't supposed to sleep on the job). Moxxie was the one waking her up, and... she was flailing his small body around with her mouth as if he was her own chew toy. Poor, unlucky Moxxie was as unlucky as always. "But Moxxie was tended to by Millie."

"So Loona,"

"Hmm?"

"Why do you hate Moxxie so much?"

"What's not to hate about him? I mean, where do i even start?" she rolled her eyes. "He has that annoying voice, and he is just plain weak."

"He's still a nice guy."

"Maybe, but he kinda has loser written all over him."

"He does have a wife." Cody pointed

"Yeah because Millie has the brain of a squirrel, and Moxxie doesn't have a spine."

"Look, whatever problems you guys have, please leave me out of it." Cody look uncomfortable

"No, no, it's not like Romeo and Julliet." said Loona. "I don't care if you guys are friends."

At Stolas' place, Cody, Loona, and their acquaintances were there along with Lucifer (AKA Satan), Lilith, Charlie, along with Crystal and Serena were at the place to see Cody get adopted by Loona as if it was like a wedding or the kid was in a school play. "So, this isn't like Hades and Persephone, is it?" asked Cody. "Like it makes me trapped here forever if i signed these papers?"

"No, of course not." said Stolas.

"if it was like that, i would be giving you a paper that specifically states that you give your soul to me, that's all. And besides, the pomegranate thing doesn't work in reality." said Satan. "Besides, for a goody-two shoes you are an alright kid."

"Thanks." said Cody. So Loona was given some papers from Stolas. That was when Loona was signing the adoption papers in a calm manner. Deep down, it was the happiest day of her life, and she was really going to love Cody as her official brother to her in her life.

"Now, do you swear to give Cody the best of care in his time of need?"

"I promise." said Loona with a smile. "I'll take care of Cody and i will protect him from anything bad that will come to him."

Cody smiled at the sound of those words and he was glad to have been officially adopted by the Hellhound that saved his life from joining his parents in death from that horrible tragedy. Although, he wondered what Tommy would think since he is his big brother. But he did like Loona as well, and at least trusted her enough to be around his little brother, unlike that Verosika who is still sulking in rehab, and probably suffering from delirium tremens right now in her padded room.

As soon as the last piece of paper was signed, Stolas said: "Well, it is now official, Loona. You are officially Cody's adopted sister." The sound of applause was heard from Blitzo, Moxxie, and the others who were friends with Loona and Cody. Blitzo suddenly ran up to his adopted daughter and gave her the tightest hug he can give her like she just won a spelling bee in school.

"Oh i am so proud of you, Loony. I know you will make a good sister." said Blitzo

The female hellhound groaned to herself and said: "Let go of me, you're embarrassing me!" then she pushed him away.

"Sorry, i'm just so proud of you."

"It's not like I won a Nobel Prize." Loona rolled her eyes. "I hate it when you do that, Blitzo."

Tex walked up to Cody and put a gentle, meaty hand on his back. "Congratulations, Cody. Glad you're part of the family now."

"Thank Tex. I'm glad to be part of the family too."

"Looks like i'm a daddy of two kids now!" Blitzo said

"Oh shut up, you didn't sign papers on him." Loona said. "So you're not officially his dad... either."

"He's got a point sir." Moxxie said. "It's always about the papers to make it all set."

Blitzo realized that Loona was right, he didn't sign like he did with Loona all those years ago. Perhaps he could try and do the same thing to Cody one of these days and be a dad to him. Although, he began thinking if he would be a good father to Cody if given the chance. Well, the boy did seem to trust Loona more than Blitzo anyway since she was the one who saved his little ass from being burnt to death. Ah, Blitzo knew he shouldn't push it on the kid to accept him as his new daddy, for stuff like this takes time like it did for Cody and Loona did after the whole tragedy on Earth.

"I never thought I would say this, Loona," said Moxxie, "but i'm glad you adopted Cody."

"Thanks Moxxie." Loona said before hugging him, which was rather surprising since she never really liked him. But then, what was not surprising was that; Loona gave him a wedgie while hugging him, making him squeal like a girl.

"Loona!" said Millie, scolding him, "really?"

"Force of habit." Loona shrugged.

"Oh crumbs, this is painful." then Moxxie felt Millie put his underwear down. "Thanks honey."

"Don't mention it, sweetheart." Millie smiled. Despite that little practical joke, everyone was happy that Cody got adopted by possibly the most beautiful hellhound in Hell.

"So, are you happy?" asked Crystal to Cody. "Happy to be a family member to Loona?"

"Yep. very happy," the boy replied to her

"Say, I think this calls for a celebration, dude." said Crymini. "A party at my place sounds fun."

"Wait, it's not going to get so rough, is it?" asked Loona

"Nah, the kid will be fine. I'll be sure to keep the beer, whiskey, and other alcoholic booze away from him."

Cody laid on his bed, looking at the ceiling, very overjoyed to have been a family member to Loona now. Yes, everything did happen for a reason after all. The fire, as bad as it was, probably was a reason for him to be a new friend to Loona in her life and be part of a cool, yet deranged family. Speaking of family, Cody wondered what his parents would think if he was adopted by a female Hellhound with a kill streak. Maybe they wouldn't like it so much, but they haven't met Loona before, and haven't got to know her so much like he had (should they have survived the fire).

But it was in the past and it can't be changed.

Would Jesus also think different of him since he is now a sibling to Loona? Will he think of poor Cody as nothing but a deported soul. One of the scariest words is: "Depart from me! i never knew you!" after all, and Cody heard of that saying. But it wouldn't matter, because if he is damned here forever, he can at least be with Loona for the rest of eternity.

"I hope this won't keep me from ever leaving here." Cody said to himself as he looked at the ceiling.

"No, of course not." said a very familiar warm voice. cody gasped and looked. He recognized the tall, handsome man with long brown hair anywhere. "I would never think differently of you."

"Jesus." Cody smiled. "So, i take it you've seen me get adopted by Loona as her new little brother."

"of course. But it doesn't mean you are permanently condemned down here for eternity. And i have to admit, i am happy that Loona has adopted you. Because you are the best thing that's ever happened to her in her eyes."

Cody smiled. "Yeah, i can tell." he looked out the door. "But what about my mom and dad? Do they mind?"

"No. They would never. They always love you." Jesus made a bold smile. "And speaking of which," two figures appeared in front of Cody with smiles on their faces. One man and one woman with halos and angel wings, and Cody gasped and teared up. He recognized them too well and got out of bed to run up to them for a hug and they hugged him back in return.

"Mom. Dad." Cody said as he felt the stream of tears go down his face. "Is that you."

"It is, kiddo." said Mr. Laurent.

"Yeah, we're so glad you're safe." Mrs. Laurent added.

"So you guys are in heaven now?"

"Yep. And we thought we would lose you forever."

"Look guys, i'm sorry about what happened. It wasn't my fault."

"We never said it was." said Mrs. Laurent

"It can never be your fault, Cody." Mr. Lauren added. "Stuff like this can happen for a reason."

"But dad," Cody looked at him, "didn't you say everything happens for a reason before you... you know."

"True, but there are things that happen by accident as well."

"Oh. But you guys don't mind if Loona adopted me?"

"No, we see you're happy and ok." said his mother. "That's what counts. As long as you're happy, we're happy."

Cody smiled again. "Good. I wish Tommy was here to see you guys."

"We know." his father frowned. "But we will always be there in your heart."

"And we love you, sweetie. Never doubt that. Heaven or Hell, you will always be our little boy."

Those words were all that Cody needed to hear right now. He let more tears escaped his face, and he hugged his parents again. "Thanks guys. I love you too."

"And you'll never feel alone." said Mr. Laurent. "like i mentioned, we will always be there for you. Always."

"Well, we need to get back to heaven now." said Mrs. Laurent. "And don't worry, we'll see you again, Cody."

"OK. I'm just so glad I got to see you guys again."

"Us too, champ. Us too."

"Jesus, they're happy in heaven, right?"

"Of course. I mean, it is for the rewarded souls who have done good in their lives." said Christ. He vanished along with his parents and Cody let more tears of joy go down his face. He finally got to see them again as spirits.
