The first day at her work had been somewhat good and now that her second day at her new work had started she realised how easy she had it yesterday compared to today.

There were a lot of people at the store this day and no one was as kind as they had been yesterday. A few people had almost screamed at her when she had messed up something and someone had even told her they were going to speak with her boss and complain to him about her. She doubted that the person would do that though, but it still made her a bit annoyed to get that sort of response from a person who could easily just have left instead of making something into such a big deal.

That person had almost reminded Chloé of herself when she had been at her worst years ago. It didn't make her feel anything if she had to be honest, but it was annoying either way. She did her best, and it was also only her second day at work. Why couldn't people be more understanding, rather than demanding?

She sighed and looked at Emma who stood and talked to a customer about an instrument Chloé had forgotten the name of. The two of them seemed to enjoy their conversation och Chloé was quite sure about why Emma had been hired by Luka. It almost seemed as if at least nine out of ten that Emma talked with bought something from the store and that made the buisness very succesfull.

Chloé had never been in the spot where she had to hire someone, and she wasn't exactly sure what she would look for. Would she go after their resume or their personality? What made them a great worker? She wasn't sure.

Chloé was so focused on what was going on in the store that she almost didn't notice that she recieved a text. Her mother had thankfully stopped calling and texting her for now, so Chloé was sure it wasn't her that had given it a seoncd chance.

Chloé took up her phone and read the text that was, to her big surprise, from Adrien. He updated her about the apartment and that it would be done by Thursday. He also gave her the address and asked her if they could see each other later that day.

She made a quick reply saying when she was free and asked him where they were going to meet each other before she put away her phone to focus on her work. Luka hadn't told her that she wasn't allowed to have her phone on during work, but she didn't want to test her luck either. Chloé still had it with her, the same with her purse where Pollen was in, but she made sure to not use any of them while she was working. She didn't want another bad customer to show up and complain about that. She had enough of that for one day.

The rest of her time at work went by smoothly. Noone complained or threatened her. There had been a little trouble with the register, but she fixed it before the customer lost its patience.

When she was done, she went to get her things and took up her phone to finally read the reply she had gotten from Adrien earlier that day. When she had read it, she decided to call him instead just to be sure if what he had written was still what she was going to do.

"Hi Chloé, how are you?" Adrien asked.

"I'm good and you?" she wondered.

"I'm kind of fine. My father has been yelling at me the whole day, but what's new?" Adrien said and made it sound both as something very painful and funny.

"I'm sorry about that." Chloé said as she started walking away from the store. "Do you still want me to come over at Gabriel's?"

"Yes please. Save me from this boring place." Adrien said in a clearly faked painful tone.

"I will might be there in maybe ten or fifteen minutes, do you think you can manage to survive untill then?" she wondered.

She wasn't sure how many minutes it would take to get to Gabriel's. It wasn't like it was at the other side of the city, but it wasn't close either. She didn't have money for a cab and thought it would take longer for her to call after her father's personal driver to take her there. So she opted to walk instead.

"I will try." Adrien said.

"See you then." Chloé said before she hung up.

She tried to walk as fast as she could for Adrien's sake. She knew that Gabriel wasn't the most joyful person to be around, but him yelling at his son? She hadn't seen it herself, but it wouldn't surprise her if it was true. She knew that her mother was quite close with Gabriel and she also knew what kind of person her mother were and what kind of people she usually surrounded herself with. So, sure, if Gabriel was that awful it wouldn't be so surprising. But she'd feel very sorry for Adrien knowing that his only parent would be that awful to him.

When almost twelve minutes had passed since she left the music store Chloé finally reached the building where Gabriel's was at. It was quite a large building that stood out in the area. There were guards standing in front of the entrance, but they didn't do anything to try and stop her or question why she was there when she walked past them. Maybe they had been informed about her visit?

When she got inside the building, she looked around to see if Adrien where anywhere in the lobby, but realised that he wasn't. He was probably somewhere else in the building, trying to avoid his father at all costs.

Instead of just standing there or trying to sneak her way past to the elevators, she walked up to the woman in the reception and decided to talk to her. If that for some reason failed she would just have to call Adrien and ask him for help.

"Hello. Welcome to Gabriel's. What can I help you with?" the woman asked and showed a perfect white smile.

"Hi. I'm here to visit Adrien Agreste." Chloé told the woman who slowly nodded.

"One moment, please." the woman said and reached for her phone.

While the woman was busy Chloé decided to look around once more in the entrance. She had been there before, but it had been months since the last time. If she remembered correctly it had been in early January when her mother had done a rare visit to Paris and her mother had complained about a statue that had been placed in the middle of the lobby. The statue was still standing there, and it made Chloé smile. She knew her mother had wanted it gone, but she didn't have any power here and it showed.

"Take the second elevator up to the fourth floor. It's the first door to your right." the woman said.

Chloé turned around and thanked the woman before she headed toward the second elevator and clicked on the button that would take her up to the fourth floor. When the elevator doors opened, she got out and turned right.

She walked up to the first door and knocked once. There weren't any sign on it that showed that it was Adrien's room. She wasn't even sure if he had his own room or office here in the building. She had never bothered asking him about it before.

Chloé didn't get a reply or anything, not even when she had knocked another time on the door. She was sure that the woman in the reception had told her the right direction and instead of going down to ask her again Chloé opened the door and walked inside.

It was a square room with plenty of windows on one side of the room with one executive office desk in one corner and a large plant in the other. On the wall closest to the door stood a large bookshelf with plenty of different books about fashion. In the middle of the room stod two sofas that looked very uncomfortable to sit on with a glass table in between them.

Chloé stepped farther inside the room and looked at all of the fashionbooks on the bookshelf untill she reached the end of the bookshelf. She noticed that she had read some of the books during her stay in New York just to get a better chance at succeding at her then work at Style Queen. Most of them had been interesting and she wasn't the least surprised to see them available here at Gabriel's as well.

When she felt someone watching her, she turned around and looked around in the room. It took her a while to notice him and when she did she couldn't help but smile.

"What are you doing?" she asked Adrien and took a few steps closer to him.

He was hiding behind the large plant that stood in the corner and seemed to breath out when he noticed that it was only her that was inside the room and no one else.

He stepped out from behind the plant and quickly walked over the floor to close the door to the room before he turned toward her.

"I thought it was my father again." he told her.

Adrien made a gesture for her to sit on the sofa, and she did so even if she was sure it would be somewhat painful to sit on it for a longer period of time.

"I don't know how many times he have been here for the last hour." Adrien said as he sat down on the other sofa.

"Is he giving you a hard time?" she wondered.

Her mom had been giving her a hard time at Style Queen, but her mother had at least treated all of the workers the same. Not that it was something to celebrate.

"If you only knew." Adrien said and gave her a sad look that made him look miserable.

She couldn't help but feel sorry for him. He had told her enough so that she would know that everything wasn't right during their short conversation earlier that day. But seeing him look so sad made her heart break. She didn't want him to be upset. She wanted him to be happy.

"So, when is you free today?" she asked him.

"Less than an hour. I was thinking that we could go and look at the apartment and you can pick out which room you want." Adrien said and looked a little bit less miserable.

"That sounds good. I'm looking forward to seeing it." she said.

"The view is amazing." Adrien told her.

"I bet it is." Chloé said.

The silence fell between them, but Chloé wasn't that bothered by it. It didn't make her feel uncomfortable or anything, so that was something good. But she could see that Adrien wasn't quite as comfortable with the silence between them though, so she decided to break it fast.

"Is this your office?" she asked.

"For now at least. My father wants me to be closer to him and his office on the seventh floor. So I guess it's just a matter of time before I get transferred up there instead." Adrien explained.

"You would get a better view at least." Chloé said in hope to cheer him up.

"Yes. I guess." Adrien said and smiled sadly.

"Have you met anyone yet?" she wondered.

"No. I try to keep to myself. I haven't even told Nino that I'm back in Paris." Adrien explained.

"Why?"

It didn't make any sense for her that Adrien would keep to himself. He was that kind of person that wanted to keep in contact with people just to make sure that they were okay.

"My father is mad at me for a mistake I made recently. I wasn't supposed to go out, but I did so anyway and he's not been the least happy since then." Adrien said.

"What did you do?" Chloé wondered.

Before Adrien had a chance to give her an answer the door to the room opened and in walked Gabriel Agreste. It almost felt as if he had heard him being mentioned and had showed up directly because of it.

Adrien turned around slowly in the sofa and seemed to silently wish that someone else, rather than his father, would be standing there. Adrien looked disappointed to see his father there and the dissapointment then quickly turned into something Chloé noticed was fear.
