"Adrien." Gabriel said before he turned to Chloé and gave her a cold stare. "Miss Bourgeois, I didn't know you were in Paris. Did your mother finally fire you?"

"Father." Adrien said and sounded a bit chocked over his father's choice of words.

"No. She didn't." Chloé said and exchanged a glance with Adrien.

"I see. Just visiting then?" Gabriel asked.

"No." Chloé said.

Gabriel was still giving her that cold stare that made her a bit uncomfortable. It wasn't like she thought he hated her or anything, but it was easy to believe that when someone only gave you that gaze that made it look like they secretly wished you were gone from their presence. Even if he wanted her gone, she wasn't going to leave Adrien.

"I actually quit from Style Queen, and I'm working here in Paris for now." Chloé explained.

"You quit?" Gabriel asked in a amused tone.

Chloé nodded.

"I assume Audrey didn't like it."

"No, she didn't" Chloé said.

"Wonderful." Gabriel said and sounded a little bit impressed by it.

When Gabriel turned to Adrien the cold stare didn't fade. There weren't any love visible on any of them and that made Chloé wonder what exactly had happened between them to make their relationship like that. She couldn't imagine ever looking like that at her own father, or even at her sister, but then again, both of them were sweet people. She knew Gabriel wasn't, but Adrien?

"Didn't I tell you to stay clear from trouble?" Gabriel asked his son.

"Chloé is my friend." Adrien said.

"We have more important things than friends. Don't you remember?"

Chloé felt like this was going to be an awful conversation to witness.

"I know father." Adrien said defeated.

"I'm glad that we are one the same page now. Why don't you send Miss Bourgeois away and come up to my office so that we can continue this conversation there instead." Gabriel said.

Before Adrien had a chance to answer Gabriel started walking toward the door. But he didn't get that far before Adrien seemed to remember something that he clearly wanted to tell his father.

"I can't do that." Adrien said and rose from the sofa.

Gabriel stopped and turned around to give his son a questioning look. Neither of them said a word and on Gabriel it almost looked as if he was silently daring his son to say one more thing. But that didn't seem to frighten Adrien too much as he spoke soon again.

"I can't send her away. We are going to look at my apartment when I finish work." Adrien explained.

"Why are you showing her the apartment?" Gabriel wondered.

For a moment Chloé wondered if Gabriel thought that Adrien and her was dating and she almost wanted to say something to correct it. But she didn't when she realised that that was probably the last thing on Gabriel's mind at the moment.

"She's going to live there." Adrien told his father.

"Can't she afford her own place?" Gabriel asked in a irritated voice.

"I'm sure she can-"

"Then why is she moving in to your apartment?" Gabriel interrupted Adrien.

"I wanted a room mate, and I thought Chloé was the best choice. We have known each other since we were kids. Don't you think it's a good idea?" Adrien asked and seemed to regret his last phrase right away.

"I thought your were going to go with the other option, the one I asked you to choose." Gabriel said.

"I don't know Lila." Adrien told his father.

Chloé had paid all of her attention to the conversation between father and son, mostly because of the way Gabriel spoke to Adrien and to see if there would be a moment where she would have to step in and protect Adrien. But now? When they had mention Lila, because who else than that Lila would they be talking about? Chloé wasn't sure if she wanted to stop their conversation any more.

"She is informed about everything, and she's been to good use for us to reach our goal. She, like I have told you since the beginning, have been the best option if you needed someone there." Gabriel said.

"As I just told you father, I don't know her." Adrien said.

Gabriel was about to say something, but his cold blue eyes slowly turned to Chloé as if he just remembered that she was there with them. The coldness in his stare didn't go away for one tiny moment as he was looking at her and when he was done, he exhaled and looked back to his son.

"Don't forget our deal." Gabriel said in a threatening voice. "You know what's at stake."

With those words Gabriel left the room and closed the door after him self with such force that a painting that Chloé hadn't noticed before fell down on the floor and broke. Tiny pieces of glass flew all over the floor.

"I'm sorry you had to witness that." Adrien said without looking at Chloé.

"Don't be." Chloé said. "He shouldn't talk to you like that."

Adrien gave her a sad glance.

"I'm going to see if I can find a broom to clean up the mess. Wait here."

Before Chloé could say something Adrien left the room to go and find a broom. She wasn't sure if she should leave Adrien alone after the conversation he just had with his father and decided to go after him instead of waiting in the room for him to get back.

"Hey, Adrien!" she shouted and sprung toward the door.

She got out in the corridor and looked at each direction, but couldn't see Adrien anywhere. She stood there for a moment before she decided to go left and walked past the elevator she had taken to get to that floor.

She continued walking until she reached the end of the corridor.

Out of all the doors she had walked past only one of them had been open and when she had peaked inside no one had been there. It had been an empty room with nothing on the walls, floor and not even in the ceiling like a lamp or something to spread some light inside the room.

She turned around and decided to walk back to the room she had been in together with Adrien. She wasn't sure where he had gone. But if he was just going to get a broom and not do anything else, she was sure he would return soon.

She entered the room and walked up to the windows the see what kind of view they had from the building and were quite impressed with what she saw. It almost looked as if they had a view over all of Paris, but it was nothing compared to the view from her father's hotel.

"Sorry about that." Adrien said behind her.

Chloé turned around to face him. He was holding a broom in his hand and seemed less upset than what Chloé had imagined that he would be.

"It's fine. You don't have to apologize." Chloé told him when he started sweeping the floor.

"I have to do that. I have to apologize for something, to someone while I still can. I wished things would change. I have done so much for him these past couples of years but nothing have changed. Everything is as it always has been" Adrien said.

"I'm sorry, Adrien." Chloé said.

Adrien looked up from the floor that he had been looking at while sweeping and gave her a small smile.

"I'm glad that you are here, Chloé." Adrien told her.

"Yeah. Me too."

She was glad that she was there. She knew Adrien needed someone, but now she knew how much he needed someone. She wasn't going to leave him knowing that Lila could have been there and poisoned him like she do to people. Chloé wasn't going anywhere, not today, not tomorrow, never.
