answers to reviewers questions or statements:

Gregary Fritsch: Same answer, I'm not.

Bladewolf101: It won't be because of this that'll trigger Darkseid's anger.

Bio RL: Probably never, you don't just forget about your first love like last week's newspaper add.

Jason Chandler: Yes, he will appear later on in the story.

chm01: Who says she is now?

Batros940: If you read the comics, you can see on a number of occasion that New Genesis isn't as 'Perfect' as it seems. If anything it's a Pretty Lie compared to Apokolips's harsh reality.

Zayden StormVoid: Psylocke is aware of Diana's thoughts, as much as the Amazon tries to shield her mind, but she's not saying or doing anything until Diana gives her a legiteament reason to. The 'talk' with Peter is still fresh in her mind and she's aware of him hitting Carol, so she'd rather avoid that for the time being. As to who infiltrated Peter's lab, it's someone that even Darkseid can't bring to heel... yet.

chimera629: It's subtly increasing Peter's curiosity and desire to find the others.

Harbinger of Kaos: It wont really affect her views on Diana, she's aware that the woman is a superhero and thus won't stand by and allow someone to just be murdered if she can stop it, which she did. Betsy just manipulated Diana into fighting Orion on the off chance the New God will kill her. No, the Destroyer armor wont appear here I'm afraid.

DeimosVulcan12: I just put Stormbreaker in here as a little Easter egg, it and Mjolnir won't be appearing again. It was none of those that broke into Peter's lab. No, the Justice League will never get that desperate, mainly because Diana isn't technically in any danger, that they are aware of at least. If they knew what Zunn and Twidle tried t0 do, they'd be trying to storm Apokolips now, least Superman would.

Trey Alexander: It will be.

gunman: Asgard is it's people, kill them and Asgard will cease to exist in the literal sense.

Agent Frank Underwood: We'll be seeing a bit this chapter why and how Peter has been able to gain such loyalty from the likes of Carol, Faora and Betsy, though honestly it's him being possibly the most descent out of Darkseid's children.

13RoniN13: Well, Ragnarok historically is caused by Loki soooo... you aren't wrong.

kaffeenator666: Him giving her the sword, well all relationships are for the most part built on trust and this is a sort of test to see if she's worth trusting. Peter wont be getting Stormbreaker, or Diana even though it would arguably suite her better than what I am planning to give her next chapter.

It was very rare for any being to leave Darkseid's throne room in a happy mood. In fact, the idea of leaving the presence of the dark lord in any sort of positive mood was considered unheard of if not outright blasphemy. And yet Carol watched as her lord exited Darkseid's chamber with a sort of spring in his step that she's learned meant he was in a good mood. Her interest piqued, she quickly flew over to him, leaving behind the small squad of Parademons she was commanding, and landed beside him with a click of her heeled boots touching the stone floor.

"You seem to be in a good mood my lord" Carol said as she fell in step with Peter as he turned down a massive hall that would lead him back to his lab.

"And you'd be right. I've just been granted permission to over see the decommissioning of Intergang on Earth" Peter said with a glance towards his blonde companion "Even better, I was chosen over Grayven"

Carol blinked at this before she grinned "That's wonderful news to hear. But, won't this earn your brothers ire?"

Peter shrugged "Probably but I'm too happy to care what that oversized bastard thinks. Besides, I already have it, what's a little more gonna do?"

"You say that now" Carol said with a frown in regards to how Peter's elder, more powerful brother will react to this news.

Grayven, out of all of Peer's siblings, was the most petty and would see this as an insult. Practically since he's now the heir apparent to Darkseid's throne despite the common knowledge that it'll be his youngest half sister that'll be given the throne. Everyone, even Kalibak knows this with how powerful she's slowly becoming as she grows.

"And I'll probably say it then too" Peter responded with a laugh before it died down "But remain close, just in case"

"Always" Carol promised with a nod.

Peter nodded before he stopped and turned towards Carol and quirked his head to the side, his lenses narrowing and widening as he stared at her. Carol felt herself blush slightly under her lord's gaze before it intensified as he reached out and cupped her face, his thumb brushing the area he struck her not too long ago. The New God Kree hybrid's heart beat like a drum as she resisted the urge to melt into Peter's touch before he pulled his hand back, taking the warmth with him.

"I'm glad it's healed" Peter said in a quiet voice "I was worried I'd scar you with how hard I hit you when you were depowered"

"It's fine" Carol said as she adverted her gaze as the memory of Peter's slap echoed through her mind "I was... I was in the wrong"

"Maybe..." Peter said with a nod before he noticed several passing Parademons watching them and narrowed his lenses at them "What?"

The Parademons hissed and quickly scattered as Peter glared at them before he shook his head and muttered something under his breath before he turned back towards Carol.

"I need you to do me a favor"

"Anything" Carol said as she stared into his lens covered eyes.

Peter nodded as he looked around for a second before he leaned in towards the blonde Fury "I need a Fury to accompany me to Earth to oversee Intergang's decommission. I'd like for you to be the one that'll accompany me"

Peter could have told her that Hala was going to be eradicated by Apokolips and she'd be leading the charge on the Kree homeworld and it wouldn't even come close to the elation and joy she was feeling at this moment. Out of herself, Psylocke and Faora, she was picked the least often to accompany Peter anywhere off Apokolips. His reasoning being that Carol was too 'emotional'. To hear that he was trusting her enough to not only take her off Apokolips, but to help him with a task given to him by Darkseid himself... words couldn't begin to describe the emotions she was feeling at this exact moment.

She quickly fell to her knee and pressed her head against Peter's thigh as she spoke in a whisper "I'll be honored to join you my lord"

"You say that now" Peter said in a dry tone as he gestured for Carol to rise, the image of her kneeling before him, her head close to his waist, it didn't pain a very innocent picture to any passing slave, Parademon or the few members of Darkseid's court still on Apokolips.

Rumors had a nasty habit of spreading faster than Bedlam's latest bio-weapon.

"Do you expect Intergang to be difficult?" Carol asked.

"No" Peter said with a shake of his head "Far as I'm aware of, the majority are adhering to my father's commands. But a few cells seem to think that Darkseid's law doesn't apply to them. Which is why you will deal with them in whatever manner you see fit. To deny the will of father is to embrace death as they say. At least I think that's what they say. I don't really keep track of whast the Slaves say now a days about him"

Carol adopted a look of confusion and surprise at this "My lord what do you mean by whatever manner I see fit-"

"I'd have Diana do it, but something tells me that she'll be preoccupied while we're on earth" Peter interrupted the Fury "And I myself will be busy as well"

"W-What?" Carol said in both surprise at hearing Peter wont be dealing with Intergang as he promised and that his harpy of a wipe will be joining them.

Peter was about to continue before he noticed the look on Carol's face and frowned as he quirked his head to the side slightly "Is something wrong?"

"My lord..." Carol began before she saw they were still standing in the middle fo the hall. With a quick look around to see if they were alone, she grabbed Peter by the arm and pulled him off to the side and towards a smaller hall before she found a room that they could speak in without risking any pass byers eavesdropping.

Peter raised a brow at the boldness of his Fury before he decided to wait and see what she had planned. He doubts it's sex, much as she still desired him, even she knew than to try and seduce Peter after he made it clear that he'll be remaining faithful to his wife.

'Even if she doesn't deserve such an honor' Carol thought darkly.

"You know Carol, dragging me into a private room like this might send the wrong message" Peter said with a teasing grin under his mask.

Carol blushed as memories of her past with the New God before her flashed through her mind. It was quite common for her to seek out Peter when he was busy and drag him into a nearby room so that he could take her in all manner of ways possible. A few times they didn't even reach a room when he ravished her senseless, causing a few scandals to emerge amongst Darkseid's Court. She quickly shook her head of such thoughts, of happier times, and focused her gaze on Peter.

"If your not going to be shutting down Intergang's operations, despite being tasked by Darkseid himself and petitioning for it, why are you going to Earth at all? what's there that would interest you that can't be found anywhere else?"

"It's..." Peter began before he stopped and looked around the room for a moment before he leaned in closer to Carol "It's related to something I've been working on lately. My research points towards Earth having something that could be the key to learning more, or at the very least, give me yet another avenue to approach it. I'm using the shutting down of Intergang as an excuse to head to Earth without drawing too much attention from certain... others"

"Your brothers?" Carol guessed.

"Among a few" Peter nodded before he reached up and cupped Carol's chin again, causing her to blush and her heart to flutter "Plus, I'm also using this as a... trial of sorts. For you. I want to see how well you'll do in leading a operation on your own on a alien world such as Earth"

"You do?" she said with surprise.

Peter nodded "I've noticed that whenever you are sent off of Apokolips to another world, your never in charge. It's usually either Psylocke or Faora your reporting to. I want to see if you have what it takes to be the one giving the orders"

"I... I..." Carol was at a lost for words before she closed her mouth and nodded as she placed a fist over her heart "I will not fail you my lord. Intergang will bow or burn before your Father, before our lord's will"

"Excellent" Peter said with a nod of approval "Your gonna need that motivation once Earth's 'Heroes' try to step in and hinder your progress"

"They can try" Carol hissed in anger and annoyance before something occurred to her "My lord, while I see to Intergang, will you be pursuing this... interest, of yours?"

"I will" Peter nodded "But don't worry, I'll be within your capability to contact should you require any help. Though honestly I think you'll be fine, so long as you follow a few guidelines I set for you when we get there"

"Of course, thank you" Carol nodded as she and Peter held one's gaze.

A thick tension soon filled the room that left Carol struggling to breath as she resisted the urge to seize Peter and do everything in her power to make him forget not only his wife, but the other Furies that she's competed with for his attention. Just as it seemed the tension was about to snap, and Carol's restraint with it, Peter stepped back and let out a breath as he turned to leave.

"I'll speak with you more later. I have some things to see to in my lab"

"Y-Yes..." Carol said with sadness in her voice as she watched Peter depart.

...

"That was surprisingly easier than I thought it'd be" Peter said as he exited the private room and made his way back to his lab.

He wished he could be more open to his reasoning for heading to Earth but Apokolips held too many ears for others to utilize and he wanted to keep his intentions obscure for as long as he could. No doubt his father knew he had an ulterior motive for wanting to be the one to deal with Intergang but thankfully didn't press it during his request. Peter doubts he'd be able to lie or hide his intentions to a being that's been telling and creating them since before entire galaxies had been born and created.

The only real issue that Peter foresaw in his mission to Earth was Diana and her former teammates, the Justice League. Once they discover his reasoning for being on their world, and the measures he'll have Carol inflict to ensure compliance from Intergang, they'll step in and do everything they can to hinder him. But, Peter as an ace up his sleeve that'll make their interference very... unwise.

'Though something tells me they'll force my hand regardless' Peter sighed with a shake of his head as he finally arrived at his lab before he noticed something was off.

Ultron hadn't greeted him at the entrance to his lab, a ridiculous tradition that Vision had likely instructed him to continue before he was transferred to Diana's control.

'If he was busy, at the very least he'd still send a message welcoming me back' Peter thought as he cautiously activated his labs doors and had them open and slipped inside, his hands cackling with arcs of his Venom Blasts.

"Hello Peter, son of Darkseid" a voice spoke up from the middle of his lab that did not belong to Ultron.

Peter's eyes narrowed as he took in the figure sitting in the middle of his lab on a floating chair, his hanger and annoyance having skyrocketed.

"Metron, how... unwanted" Peter snarled at the New God as he stepped further into his lab and had the doors closed while he scanned the room for Ultron.

He noticed the A.I.'s physical body was lying on the floor immobile but otherwise unharmed. Peter struggled to fight down the anger at seeing his prized creation down as he returned his attention to the self proclaimed watcher off the Multiverse "What are you doing here Metron?"

"I've come to speak with you in regards to your latest... exploit" Metron said as he glanced at the section of the lab that Peter has devoted to understanding more of the stone he recovered from the Agooma weeks ago.

"Oh, and what's that?" Peter said as he made his way over to Ultron to better asses what was done to him while also sending a encrypted summons to his lab to one of his Furies.

Metron probably already knows what he did, but his role as a 'watcher' prevents him from actively acting and the presence of another may cause the enigmatic New God to leave even sooner. At least Peter hoped he will, he's never been a fan of the being and if Peter could, he'd throw the man into a black hole and leave him to rot.

"You play with forces you cannot possibly begin to understand with your experiments" Metron said as he had his chair turn so he was facing Peter.

"Your gonna have to be specific there Metron, I perform a lot of dangerous experiments that I can't begin to understand" Peter said as he discovered that Ultron was neutralized with a specialized EMP, likely from Metron's Morbius chair "I mean just last week I stumbled across an ancient strain of some sort of virus that creates these nigh uncontrollable vampiric like beings that I've been thinking of introducing into the next batch of Parademon's gentic material to see what will happen-"

"I refer to your interests in the Mind Stone" Metron interrupted in a grave tone.

"The Mind Stone?" Peter said with a raised brow as he turned towards Metron while he had his suit send another message to the device that housed the stone of psionic energy he's been studying "That's what it's called? Huh, figured it'd be called something more... creative. I mean Mind Stone seems kind of on the nose, wouldn't you agree?"

"If you continue to tamper with it, you'll unleash devastation of the likes you cannot possibly imagine" Metron warned as he had the chair move closer to Peter.

"You know Metron, telling me to not look into this 'Mind Stone' isn't really convincing me to stop" Peter said with a snort "If anything I'm even more interested in it. Along with it's effects on others"

"It's power is far beyond you comprehension child" Metron said with a glare on his face "Even your father could never understand it's capabilities"

"Maybe... or maybe not" Peter said as he turned back towards the New God "Quick question by the way. That chair of yours, it allows you to be aware of what's happening in the universe and around you right now, correct?"

"Yes" Metron said with a frown as Peter smirked under his mask.

"So you see this coming than?" he said not a second before the doors to his lab slid open and Carol suddenly flew through them and slammed right into Metron as he turned towards her with surprise.

"How-" he began before he was seized by the collar and with a yell, Carol tore him free of the Morbius chair and threw him to the ground.

The New God tried to stand but a kick to the chest from Carol knocked him back to the floor before the blonde beauty formed a blade of Photon energy and held it towards Metron's throat. Once she was certain that Metron wasn't going anywhere, Carol turned towards Peter and gave him a nod which he returned as he approached the two before crouching down and staring at Metron's less than pleased glare.

"How did you-" he began before Peter chuckled.

"Like I said, I'm interested in it's effects on others" Peter grinned at the New God as he tapped the side of his head "Like having the device I'm using to house it begin to emit waves of psionic energy to distract you from your chair's warnings"

Metron's eyes widened at this "How could you possibly accomplish this?"

"I've been studying it" Peter said with the barest hints of annoyance in his voice "I mean, it's not like I'm a scientist or anything. One of if not the best on all of Apokolips"

"Perhaps he needs to be reminded?" Carol suggested as she dug her heel deeper into Metron's chest, causing him to groan in pain a little from the pressure.

Peter hummed as he turned his attention back to the Morbius chair and ran a thing along it's edge, the cosmic energy fueling it causing his arm to shake "Near limitless knowledge of all things now and have been, literally within my reach. Such a tempting little trap, a lesser man would have jumped at that opportunity to have this thing under their control. To know the secrets of the universe hmm?"

"You wish to have the chair?" Metron asked before Carol's energy blade dug into his neck a little, causing him to hiss in pain.

"No" Peter said with a shake of his head as he stepped away from the chair "I'm not that dumb. This thing is more of a curse than a blessing"

"My lord, shall I dispose of this creature? The hounds haven't fed good in a while and might appreciate some New God meat in their diet" Carol asked with a glare on her face as she stared down at the New God.

Though in her opinion, he seemed less like a God and more like a pathetic child in need of being put down. There were far too many plans and goals that this being has costed Apokolips over the eons, killing him would remove a major thorn in it's side.

"No, no, release him" Peter said with a wave of his hand "As annoying as he can be, Metron isn't a real threat to anyone unless their dumb enough to actually listen to him"

Carol nodded as she dissipated her Photon blade and allowed Metron to climb back to his feet as she stepped back and took her spot at Peter's side. As the current owner of the Morbius Chair steadied himself back on his feet, coughing and clutching the small burn from Carol's blade on his neck, Peter nodded towards the floating chair.

"Leave Metron, while I'm still in a remarkably good mood"

Metron scowled at Peter as he made his way back to the chair and once again took his place on it "Heed my warning, Peter of Apokolips"

"I'll keep it in mind Metron of sitting in a glorified recliner" Peter said as the New God opened a Boom Tube and entered it before having it close behind him, leaving Peter and Carol standing alone in his lab.

"Sir...?" Ultron's voice spoke up as he finally reactivated and climbed to his feet, his weapon systems coming online as he searched for signs of the intruder he discovered only moments ago "There is an unauthorized-"

"I'm aware. He's already gone now so stand down" Peter said with a sigh before he waved off the A.I. "And return to your duties"

Ultron nodded as he deactivated his weaponry turned back towards the containment field that Peter had his 'symbiotic suit' in and resume his tests on it. Peter stared at his latest assiatant with a frown under his mask, displeased with how easily Metron had disabled him and made a note to upgrade Ultron's defensive software, or at the very least install a subroutine to kick in should he be deactivated again.

"My lord, why was Metron here?" Carol asked as she turned towards Peter "He rarely involves himself in the affairs of Apokolips"

"No idea, guess he was feeling bored and wanted to stir up some trouble, as usual" Peter said with a shrug.

Carol was silent as Peter turned away from her and made his way towards the part of the lab that he's had restricted to himself and Ultron only. As the New God resumed whatever has garnered his interest lately, she examined the lab to see what has changed since she was last in it. Granted, the last time she was in Peter's private lab he had her bent over a table and was taking her like an animal in heat, but it gave her a bit of an excuse to be in his presence a little while longer. Plus, he has yet to send her away, so perhaps he wishes for her company.

'Hala knows that slut doesn't give him enough time' Carol thought bitterly in regards to the Amazon, Diana.

"Carol" Peter said as he read some of the data from the latest test run on the 'Mind Stone'.

"Yes?" Carol answered as she turned her attention back to the holder of her heart.

"I'm gonna need you to change our attire when we get to earth" Peter nodded towards her armored chest plate and dark material that made up her suit.

"What would you prefer?" Carol asked as she looked down at her current attire, wondering why it needed to be changed.

It was more concealing of her figure than her last one, she'd admit, but she thought that it was still eye catching enough to not require any alterations.

"Something… heroic looking I guess" Peter said with a small shrug "I've been compiling a file for you to read before we head to Earth"

"Why?" Carol asked with confusion.

"I don't want you to possibly piss off the wrong person while we're there" Peter answered as he returned his attention to latest scientific curiosity "Plus, your change in appearance will make my plans to deal with the Justice League's interference much easier if you don't come off as some intergalactic warrior to Earth's populace"

"What would you prefer I come off as to that miserable world's backwater inhabitants?" Carol asked with a frown.

"Something more... heroic" Peter said, the last word laced with sarcasm so thick that Carol half expected the word to physically fall from his mouth and on to the floor "Earthlings, I've noticed, are suckers for a human like being that comes off as heroic trying to do what's right in face of overwhelming opposition"

"I don't understand" Carol said with obvious and understandable confusion.

"You will once I explain it later" Peter assured the Fury as he picked up a datapad and looked at it for a moment before nodding in satisfaction and handed it to Ultron who took it without looking and began to catalog the data.

"Why not now my lord?" Carol asked, desperate to stay in her love's presence just a little longer.

"I'm still going over a few details of it in my head and need to refer to a few observations that I've made of the world over the years and some intelligence reports from our agents there" Peter said as he turned back towards Carol "Don't worry, I'm not gonna leave you grasping for straws when we get there. By the time Diana returns from her mission and we're ready to set out for Earth, not only will you know what needs to be done, but how to handle the League should they get in your way"

"If that's what you wish" Carol said before she sighed and bowed.

"Carol..." Peter said as he approached her, causing the blonde to look up at him "I know that your not used to this whole smokescreen thing I'm doing, but I need anyone whose possibly spying on me, and there's quite a few I know for a fact are, to be kept guessing for as long as possible..."

He than placed a hand on Carol's shoulder and gave it an affectionate squeeze that caused her heart to beat like a artillery barrage "And I trust you'll exceed my expectations"

"Y-You do?" Carol said with excitement.

"Of course I do" Peter nodded "You've trusted me all these years, it's only fair I offer that same level of faith in you as well"

Carol gasped before she brought Peter into a tight hug and buried her face into his chest, her body shaking with happiness.

"I'll prove myself worthy of it"

"I know you will" Peter said as he rubbed the blonde's back and did his best to ignore how she felt against him, the way her 'assets' pressed against his chest or how her leg was slowly climbing up to wrap itself around his waist.

"Carol..." Peter said, not so much a warning but more of a reminder that she was starting to get overly... affectionate.

"Sorry" she blushed as she pulled back and twiddled with her thumbs.

"It's fine" Peter said with a chuckle as he suddenly turned and scowled at Ultron as he saw him doing something different from what he preferred "Hey, don't put data from my studies on my latest interest on my server. Put it on the phantom core I have set up and make sure to encrypt it with my new probability matrix"

"Yes sir" Ultron nodded before it proceeded to follow Peter's instructions.

"I'll go and prepare my attire for Earth, by your leave of course" Carol said.

"Send me what you've decided for a final say" Peter said as he turned back to his Fury, causing her to give him a coy smile.

"With if I have multiple choices?" she asked.

"Than I'll view them, pick the ones that'll best work with my plan, and than let you choose which you want" Peter answered.

"All my options?" Carol asked again in a whisper as her eyes seemed to brighten.

"Uh, yes?" Peter said with a slightly nervous laugh, where was she going with this.

"You'll receive my first options tonight" Carol said with a grin as she bowed again before turning on her heel and quickly making her way to the lab's entrance before she stopped and turned back towards Peter and frowned "Will your... wife, have any say in my attire?"

"She can offer me advice but ultimately it's my decision" Peter revealed before he quirked his head to the side "Why? Do you believe she'd be better at making these kinds of decisions than me?"

It'd make sense he supposed, asking a woman that was a 'hero' advice and tips on what attire would best be acceptable to the image that Peter was gonna paint Carol to Earth and the League. But the thought of anyone, even his own wife, seeing Carol in what he assumed were gonna be various states of undress and sensual pose was... unwelcomed. Such a thing might give Diana some form of control or influence over his Fury and he'd rather not have anyone but him have such a hold over Carol, and he's willing to wager that the blonde Fury was of a similar mindset.

"No" Carol shook her head at Peter with a face of revulsion at the thought of anyone but her Peter seeing her in the various states she was about to show him "I'd rather you not"

"Than I wont" Peter assured her before gesturing she had his leave to go.

Carol nodded and quickly departed his lab, but not quick enough for his eyes to see the way her rear swayed from side to side in an almost hypnotic fashion...

...

And done.
