Chimney's head shot up as the bathroom door opened and he silently watched as Bobby ushered Eddie in and over to the line of sinks. Chimney had already pulled off his bloodied clothes and was now half dressed in clean clothes from his bag. He grabbed his shirt off the sink counter and slip it over his head as Bobby placed Eddie's bag on the counter. Eddie, for his part, still didn't seem completely present. Once Chimney had his shirt on he watched as Bobby turned on the sink closest to him and grabbed for the paper towel dispenser; taking out way too many sheets a normal person would need to normally dry their hands.
Eddie twitched; his eyes blinking in rapid session but he still didn't seem to register completely what was happening around him. With a deep sigh, Bobby grabbed at the hem of Eddie's shirt; untucking it from his pants. Chimney stepped up to help without a word. Together Bobby and Chimney stripped Eddie down until he was only in his boxers; thankfully clean of any blood. While Chimney shoved all of the bloodied clothes into the bag with his own; Bobby grabbed up paper towels and wetted them in the sink. He then gently grabbed Eddie's left wrist to raise his arm and carefully began cleaning his hand and arm of any blood; ignoring the blood getting on his own hands for his efforts. Chimney soon chimed in doing the same to Eddie's right hand and arm.
Once his hands and arms were clean Bobby moved onto his torso while Chimney crouched and began wiping away the blood slowly drying on his thighs and legs. Bloodied paper towels were filling the sink and floor around them the more then needed to use and the longer it took. Neither of them spoke as they worked; neither knowing what to say to even get Eddie to register their presence. Sometime in the middle of them cleaning the younger man up the door for the bathroom had opened and there had been a knock. Bobby and Chimney turned their attention to find Athena in the doorway; frowning at the sight. Bobby shook his head and Athena's frown deepened before she slowly closed the door behind her.
At this point Athena didn't care that it was the men's bathroom; she stood at the door and kept her voice low. "A nurse noticed his state and asked if he needed to be admitted for shock."
Bobby shook his head again; also keeping his voice low. "I don't think he's in shock. None of the symptoms fit."
"He's just shut down." Chimney whispered as he gathered the growing pile of paper towels off the ground and stood up straight. "He's not cold or clammy. No rapid heartbeat, no difficulty breathing."
He had been keeping his eye on Eddie once Buck had been taken back; he knew what to look for. He knew had Eddie been in shock he knew he would have gotten the attention of a nurse or doctor right away. Chimney tossed the towels into the trash can and began cleaning everything up from the counter and sink. Bobby grabbed one last towel and got it wet before turning his attention to the streak of blood on the side of Eddie's face; it was smeared over his lips and up into his hair; like he had ran his hand over the side of his face and up to muse with his hair. Bobby made quick work of that and then took a step back; eyes roaming over his second youngest firefighter to make sure he was clean of any blood.
Nodding; Bobby turned the sink off and opened the duffle bag to grab out clean clothes for the younger man. He started with the pants; crouching to help Eddie into them. As soon as he touched Eddie's right ankle the younger man jerked but suddenly hands were on his shoulders and Eddie's foot was lifting. Bobby took that as a good sign as he guided the foot into the pant leg; then touched Eddie's left ankle and did the same thing. He stood as he pulled the pants up Eddie's thighs and over his waist; buttoning and zipping them up.
"You back with us, Diaz?" Bobby's eyes searched the younger man's.
Eddie swallowed; blinked as he looked at Bobby; but a subtle twitch of his head was enough for the captain to give him a small smile. Chimney sighed in relief; as did Athena from the door. Bobby held up the t-shirt next. Eddie's eyes dropped to the shirt and he opened his mouth but no words came. He swallowed again and turned his attention back to Bobby. The older man nodded before taking the shirt in both hands and looping Eddie's head through the hole; thankfully Eddie was coming around enough to lift his arms and slid them through the sleeves himself.
"Athena?" Chimney spoke up as he crouched to help Eddie into socks and shoes from his bag. "Do you know who she was?"
Bobby closed his eyes and dropped his head. Athena had already told him everything at the station and on the ride to the hospital after he had given his statement. Apparently once the woman had been arrested she couldn't stop talking; or screaming as Athena had accounted it. She had practically told them everything they needed to know by the time she was locked in the back of a squad car and on her way to the precinct.
"Maddie's already been asking questions." Athena crossed her arms. "I'm only going to tell this once more so when you're all ready. They've moved us into a private waiting room because there are too many of us crowding the E.R. waiting room."
Chimney nodded as he tied Eddie's shoes and stood. Eddie was watching him and Chimney patted him on the shoulder. He felt the flinch but ignored it as he stepped away to grab his own bag from the floor a few feet away. They made sure they were completely cleaned up; not leaving a mess for a janitor to clean before following Athena out of the bathroom and down the hall. For the most part Eddie seemed to be moving on his own now; Bobby's hand hovering at his back just in case. They reached a door and Athena opened it to allow the men to walk in first.
Chimney stepped in first and dropped his bag next to Hen's off to the side before he ushered over to Maddie. As soon as he was sitting next to her he wrapped his arms around the brunette. Maddie leaned into his side; laying her hand on his shoulder as she continued to silently cry. Bobby pushed Eddie into the chair on the other side of Maddie and though she was leaning into Chimney she reached her hand out and took Eddie's in hers; giving it a squeeze. More aware of himself Eddie squeezed back just a strong. Bobby and Athena stayed standing; Bobby had placed Eddie's bag with the others so his hands were free as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"Can you tell me who shot my brother now?" Maddie asked; her eyes landing on the police Sergeant.
Athena rested her hands on her hips and looked around the room before she settled her attention on Maddie. "Her name was Elaine Mackey. She was the wife of Chase Mackey."
"The lawyer?" Hen asked from where she sat along the wall with Karen next to her; Denny asleep across both their laps.
"Yes." Athena nodded and then dropped a bomb on the group. "Chase Mackey was found dead in their home this morning and she blamed Buck."
