Hi guys, I am in the process of rewriting this. I Finally have a working computer again, so I can go back to writing these, which I've missed so much. But I read through the story, trying to get into it again, and I really didn't like how it was turning out. So I'm redoing. Some things will different obviously. I am going to write it again with Kurt's eating disorder and go further with the fight club for Blaine. And just like before, it won't be plot heavy. I just want it to be them navigating high school and dealing with the crap that happens along the way. I know some of you like a strong storyline, I get it, but this won't be that. It's long and whatever I choose to include. Sorry for any errors, I know I'm terrible for skipping words. I read through it, but I usually don't spot them until after it's posted... Hope you like this! And I'm sorry if you're disappointed that I redoing it.

Kurt wakes up with a start at the sound of his father's voice, "Kurt, you better get up, bud. It'll be time to go before you know it." Burt's voice managed to be a little softer than usual. He knew this would be a tough day for his son.

Kurt woke up very confused, his dad rarely had to get him up in the mornings. But then he remembered today was the day. He was moving to Dalton. His heart stopped as he picks up his phone to check the phone. He had one hour before it's time to leave. He shoots up out of bed in a panic. "Dad! It's my first day, why did you let me sleep so late?" He rushes across his room to find the outfit he'd decided on days ago, although he knew he'd just have to put a uniform on. Still, this was important.

Burt rolls his eyes at his son's sudden panic. "Kurt, you needed to rest. You've been flitting around here for days. You have enough clothes packed for everyone in the state of Ohio. There's nothing left to do. You have a whole hour still, just relax and do your hair thing. You'll be fine." Burt hurriedly shuts the door before Kurt could put himself in a bigger panic.

After about twenty minutes, he had on his outfit and his hair was almost finished. He's never gotten ready this quickly before. He does a quick version of his usual skin routine. After finishing, he gives himself a pep talk, "You can do this, this will be good…or at least better."

While having this mini-discussion with himself, he can't help but think of everything that was going on back at his old school. The same kids he went to school with since kindergarten, little by little stripped every bit of happiness away from him. He had always been different, and thus, been mocked for it. He'd grown to accept it. But high school was where everything changed.

Kurt remembers every single shove and assault he experienced, and remembers exactly the way it feels hitting the wall, the lockers, or the searing pain of his hip hitting the bottom of the chalk boards in his math class. He did have friends, maybe not the greatest of friends, but they cared about him. He had Finn of course, and the rest of the New Directions. He would miss them, and miss the gossip if he was being completely honest.

After giving himself one more once over, he figures that's as good as it's going to get. He shuffles nervously down the stairs and sees his step-brother standing at the stove with a smile on his face. "We made you breakfast, Kurt!"

Kurt stops at the bottom step and looking at Finn warily, "I'm afraid." Secretly relieved Finn was still here to distract him from his nerves. "Actually, I'm sure it's great. I just don't think I could eat anything."

Finn's face falls into a confused frown, "Why can't you eat?"

Kurt rolls his eyes, "Physically I can, but I'm just nervous about today. I don't have much of an appetite."

Finn sits a plate for his brother at the table, "Well we made it for you, so at least try it?"

Kurt weighs his options before slowly going to the table, not wanting to hurt Finn's feelings. He gets to the table, looks at the plate and sighs, and looking at Finn in amusement. "Toast? Really? You acted like you pulled together some kind of five-star cuisine, and here you are with toast." Kurt couldn't help but laugh a little.

"It's all I knew how to make, dude." Finn shrugs and sits down, gesturing for Kurt to do the same.

Kurt sits down with a small laugh, "You know, this is actually perfect. Just enough to get me through this hectic morning, but not too heavy, either."

Finn sits silently for minute before responding, "Yeah, that's exactly what I planned."

"Mhmm, I'm sure," Kurt responds flatly.

The two boys sit quietly for a while, with Finn glancing at Kurt from the corner of his eye. Clearly having something in mind, "What Finn."

Finn shrugs, "I just don't see what you're so nervous about, man. You're going to do great at Dalton."

Kurt nods silently, Finn doesn't get it, which is okay. He doesn't begrudge Finn not having a sad and miserable school experience. "Thanks Finn, I really hope so."

After a long argument, and one Kurt-fit later, all of Kurt's packed belongings were piled up in one car, and they were on their way. With Kurt's beloved Navigator left behind.

Kurt spent the first twenty minutes of the drive sitting with his arm crossed, glaring out his passenger seat window. Finally, he sighs very loudly, "I still don't understand why I can't have my car."

Burt had been waiting for it, he knew his son couldn't just leave it at that. He had to fight it, even if he already lost. He responds to his son in an exasperated tone, "Kurt you won't need it to get back and forth to school. And I don't like the idea of you being out and driving and I not know about it. We'll discuss it again, maybe when come home for a visit."

"Why even get me a car if you're just going to keep taking it away from me?"

Burt chuckled, "Because I'm a parent, and that's what we do. But let's talk about something else. I want to discuss this new school you're going to."

Kurt frowns, "Why, what's to discuss when I haven't even been there yet?"

"There's lots to discuss. You've never had to switch schools before, this is a new experience and I want to know where your head's at."

"I don't know dad," Kurt responds with a shrug, "I don't what to expect, what these kids will be like. I'm not exactly comfortable with the idea that they're all guys. I don't know if you've noticed, I don't have much in common with the average guy. What if it's the same thing, only this time, I can't even leave?"

Burt drove quietly for a minute while he figured out what to say that could help his son. "Well, I can't make you any promises. And I also understand anti-bullying policies can only do so much. But I did talk to the headmaster, and he said there have been many kids like you come through the school, and they felt just as comfortable as the rest of the students. Who knows, maybe there will be a few jerks there. But I think you'll be alright, I really do."

Kurt looked down at his fidgeting hands, he always does that when he's freaking out. "I just hate the idea of you putting so much money into a school. It's just high school, I should be able to get through two measly years without all this trouble. Maybe we should just homeschool."

"No," Burt says before barking out a laugh, "You and I would kill each other if you were home all the time. I love you, son. But no, you're going to school."

Kurt laughs as well, rolling his eyes, "You're probably right. Cause then I'd be monitoring you're every meal."

"Yeah that's not going to happen. Look Kurt, I don't want you to worry about the money part. Secretly, I've always wanted to send you to a nice school like this. Yes, it's a higher dollar than I'd like to be spending at one time, but I'm genuinely happy to do it. I don't want you feeling guilty about this. I just want you to do me one favor."

Kurt looks at his dad warily, "Okay… what kind of favor?"

"Just give it a chance, a real chance. And by it, I mean them."

"I am," Kurt exclaims, "I wouldn't be on my way there if I wasn't giving it a chance. Come on dad, anyone would be nervous changing schools like this."

Burt shakes his head fervently, "I understand being nervous. I just mean, don't just automatically go into this school today assuming these kids are going to be just like the ones at McKinley. This is a new start for you"

Kurt nods, "alright, dad." Doubts still swirling around in his mind.

"Look, you wanna know the real thought process for switching you out of there?" Burt waits till he makes quick eye contact with Kurt before pulling into a parking spot. "I want you to have a positive experience with people before you're out in the real world. You spent so much time being knocked down for being who you are. I don't want you walking around in two years from now thinking the world's a terrible place." Burt's voice softer than usual, hoping Kurt would truly listen. "I want you to have a happy ending one day, and that won't happen if you're constantly getting abused every day, and it definitely won't happen with you just staying home."

"Alright alright alright, I get it," He sees his dad squinting his eyes at him and he couldn't help but smile a little. "No, I really do. I'll really try."

His dad seemed to accept that and nods, "Well alright. Let's get in there before we're late. That probably wouldn't be good."

"Welcome, I'm Headmaster Dickens," A short, and slightly stodgy looking man with greying hair greets Kurt and his father. "I guess it's safe to assume you're Burt and Kurt Hummel?"

Burt nods, "Sure am. Nice to meet you Headmaster Dickens."

Kurt smiles, "Nice to meet you," while shaking his hand nervously.

The Headmaster checks his watch and sighs, "We are going to start with a tour once the assigned student gets here." He looks to the door, slightly annoyed. "Seems to be running a little late."

Burt chuckles in amusement, "Well, I'm sure he had something important to do." Knowing full well teenage boys never have anything important to do outside of class time. Although, he does hope the other kid comes in soon, he's not sure how much small talk he and this Headmaster would be able to force.

"Right.. don't they always," The Headmaster says dryly while staring at his watch as if it's offended him. "It's quite strange though, this particular student is usually rather punctual." The man finally looks up at Kurt and smiles for the first time since they've arrived. "Do you have any questions while we have this unscheduled wait?"

Kurt clears his throat nervously, "Well, not that I can think of. I read the manual front to back."

"Well, you would be the first Mr. Hummel," The Headmaster smiles in approval." He opens his mouth to say something else when two teenage boys came bursting into the room, causing all three men to jump.

"Wes, what are you doing, let me out of here," a frantic Blaine Anderson yells as frightfully as he could muster. Didn't seem to do much when the next thing he heard was a manic laugh. He kicked at his closet door the best could with his feet tied up. He seriously needed new friends.

Wes buttons up his blazer while looking at his reflection in the mirror on the closet door his friend is currently tied up in. "No worries mister Blaine," Wes responds in the first random accent he could think up. "I will grant the newcomer his tour no worries." He thinks he sounds Scottish, but he can't be certain. "Now sit there quietly, you don't want to scare the children."

Blaine sighs, accepting that he wouldn't be getting out any time soon. "Wes, you know the Headmaster hates the stunts you pull. He's not going to find this funny, especially when it's a new student coming in." Blaine actually loves meeting new students, and he was really looking forward to giving the tour, and getting to know this new person that would possibly be classmates with him.

Wes does that weird giggle again before going back to his accent, "Oh stop, I keep him young."

Blaine winces at his wording, "Ew Wes, that sounded creepy. Anyway, how are you going to explain where I am? Please don't get me in trouble in all this." Blaine rolls his eyes at what his life has become.

"I'll just tell them that you're tied up at the moment, no lies there." Wes starts laughing again, much to Blaine's annoyance, and secret amusement but he'll never admit it. Wes bursts out of Blaine's room and starts running down the hall where he spots David walking down the hallway from the opposite direction.

"Wes," He calls out, looking at his friend suspiciously. "What are you up to, you never run."

Wes slows down and gives David a superior look, "I am on a special assignment, I am giving Mr. New Kid the grand tour."

David's face drops as he listens to his friend explain in that terrible accent he can't even name. "What have you done?"

Wes shrugs, listing everything he's done that day, "Not much. I got up this morning at six, brushed my teeth, showered, ate a brownie, tied Blaine up half naked and threw him into closet, now I'm off to give the new kid his tour. I'm awfully quite busy at the moment David, so if you don't mind, I must be running along." Wes points his thumb in the direction of the office, and winks at his friend.

David being a little slow on the uptake, needing time to grasp the idea that his friend nonchalantly just told him he actually tied his other friend up and threw him in a closet. David blinks a few times, "Wait, Wes. This is a bad idea, man. Let's just go get Blaine, and let him out. It's not too late." This day was about to get real stupid, and he's not feeling it.

Wes slowly smiles at David, "try and stop me." He slaps the other boys upside the head and takes off running. David starts chasing after him, using every curse word he could think of.

"Wes, I swear I will beat your ass," He's running, trying to keep up with his friend. Wes rounds the corner, giggling and squealing as he sees David try to reach him over his shoulder.

"Little fucker is fast for someone who never even exercises," David grunts as he desperately tried to stop his friend before he gets to the Headmaster. He catches hold of Wes's blazer just as door knob is turned, and before David knew it, they were both in the office with a very startled looking new student. This would definitely not end well, Wes is such an idiot.

The Headmaster was the first recover from fright, next to disbelief, ending with pure annoyance. "Is there a reason I have you two barreling into my office, as opposed to Mr. Anderson, who I specifically requested?"

Wes clears his throat importantly and holds his hands behind his back. "Well, Sir Headmistress Dickens-"

The older man frowns deeply, suddenly feeling his age, "Headmaster, Wesley, not Headmistress."

"That's what I said," Wes says with a laugh, and gives Kurt the hand motion, tilting his open fingers toward himself, suggesting the Headmaster had drank one too many. Kurt gives him a look of disbelief in return. Not knowing what to make of this strange person.

The Headmaster's head drops as he tries to keep his patience, not wanting to lose it in front of their new peers. He takes a deep breath and asks again, "Where is Blaine, Mr. Montgomery?"

Wes suddenly turns serious, clearing his throat again, "I am afraid Blaine Anderson is rather tied up at the moment." David looks down in shame, this poor family.

Burt studies Wes, trying to figure out if he's serious or not. But before he could say anything, Wes to turns to them and offers his hand. "Well hello there sir," Reinstating his accent, he'd forgotten for a minute. "I am Mr. Wesley Montgomery." Burt introduces himself, trying not to laugh. Maybe this whole thing wouldn't be as boring as he thought.

Kurt shakes his hand as well, feeling a little less nervous all of a sudden. "Scottish accent," Kurt offers.. although a terribly fake one, he wanted to add, but that's no way to make friends.

Wes's eyes widen comically, "Someone who understands me." He shakes Kurt's hand far longer than the usual handshake, David debated a few times about stepping in, before Wes steps away himself…still smiling like that. "Listen, Kurt. I know Headmaster Dickens here called me Mr. Wesley Montgomery. But don't worry you have options, there's Wesley, Wes.. my personal preference, Montgomery, Mister, and last but not least…. Wevid." Kurt frowns in confusion at the last one, David just waves it off, you don't want to know.

Wes motions to his friend, "This here is David, he only goes by David. He's rather picky about it."

Kurt nods, "Nice to meet you guys, I'm Kurt."

The tour was actually quite uneventful, but still humorous, Wes kept the jokes going. He introduced his new buddy to a few random students, some of which he didn't actually know the names of. That got awkward, but one can't know everything.

The time came to take Kurt to get fitted for his uniforms and lastly to his dormitory, which would be close to Blaine and his friends. Blaine was this year's lead hall monitor, junior class president, Lead vocalist and the best student in the class. The Headmaster thought it best to have him close, in case Kurt needed help or had other questions.

Wes excitedly leads Kurt to his room number, which had been strangely empty for as long as he'd lived there. "Look Kurt, we're neighbors!" Kurt looks at Wes's room which was the last in this hall, and his own. He nods at Wes, "okay, cool." Kurt feeling his nerves build up again, causing him to withdraw.

There was a light thudding sound that broke the mildly awkward silence. Wes stiffens a little and looks at the door across from his. He claps his hands loudly to catch their attention away from Blaine's apparent temper tantrum. "Well, how about we get you moved in?"
