I wake up early in the morning, a quick look at my phone shows it's 6:13 in the morning. A peak out my new window shows the constant rain that I'm coming to know as Forks or home. It's new. And after yesterday's rollercoaster, my emotions have settled. But I feel different. More whole if that makes any sense.

I grunt as stretch and proceed to roll out of my bed onto the floor. Grunting again I stand up and make my way down. The stench of coffee hits me before I even get to the kitchen and my nose follows it like a bloodhound.

I'm broken from my zombified state as I hear someone laughing. "Coffee is to your right kiddo. Cups are in the cabinet above it." I make a beeline and once I've got a cup of coffee and take a sip, I close my eyes and enjoy the hot sensation running down my throat that wakes me a little and I open my eyes once more. I see my dad there, smirking at me.

"What are you laughing at? Huh?" I say in the gruffest voice I can. He just chuckles some more.

"So, it's a Sunday, I don't have work, up for some fishing?" He says with a hopeful tone to his voice. I didn't even have to think about it.

Taking a sip of my coffee and then setting the cup on the counter, I give him my answer, "Let me go get changed. Meet you back down here in five." I say as I run out the room. I catch a glance of my reflection from the window. I snort, I really do look like a zombie. My red eyes are bloodshot and my snow white hair that I keep shoulder length is spiked up all over the place. Pfft, I look like an idiot. I would have laughed at myself too.

After climbing up the ladder to my room I strip off my oversized shirt and sweatpants I wore to bed and throw on a pair of black that are ripped at the knee and a long sleeve black and white striped shirt and grab my favorite gray hoodie on the way back down.

"Let's go!" I announce as I walk back into the kitchen, "after I finish my coffee that is."

"Alright I'll go throw the fishing stuff in the truck while you finish up." Dad says as he starts to stand and proceeds to walk out and towards the front door.

I quickly finish what was left in my cup and make my way outside, only stopping to throw on my shoes and steal a jacket off the coat rack next to the door to throw over my hoodie. Its too big on me but I can't find it in me to care.

I come to a stop as I step outside. There's a big red monstrosity sitting in the driveway. Isabella's truck. Right dad did mention Jacob and Billy Black were here yesterday.

I continue towards dads' pickup truck that's out by the road. As I hop in, I turn to him, "That wasn't there yesterday. Whose is it?" I ask as I gesture towards the truck.

"I bought it off Billy Black, I said he was here yesterday, it's for Bella, so she can drive you guys to and from school. Which reminds me why didn't you get your license with Bella?" he answers back as he starts to drive off. "Oh, and we are just taking a quick stop at the store to pick up some bait."

I look out the window but respond to him, "I just never had a need to. We lived close to the schools so I would just walk normally and if I needed something I would just take a bus. It seemed pointless at the time." Well, that and once I got good enough control over my vector manipulation, I could just manipulate the vectors around me to increase my speed. Simple enough, though I crashed quite a few times trying that out.

The rest of the ride was in comfortable silence. We stopped by the store and picked up some bait, I stayed in the truck while he ran in and out and then it was a short ride from there to the spot that he was taking me to fish at. It was a quiet place in the woods. If I'm not mistaken we're close to the Quileute reservation.

"The spot we are going to is just up ahead." He points to a small clearing that slowly becomes visible. As we walk through, I take in the sight. It's a big lake, beautiful view really, but the thing that catches my eye is the old man sitting in a chair out near the water.

I look over at my dad, "Who is that?" I ask him in a curious manner.

"Harry Clearwater, a friend of mine. We fish together, he's got a boy a few years younger than you, and a girl about a year older than you. Maybe you guys can meet sometime soon." Dad says to me.

"Uh, yeah sure I don't see why not. I'm not really a people person but maybe this could be a new start." So, I can meet a couple wolves or at least have a reason to go to the reservation to meet the other wolves.

Dad approaches who I now know to be Harry Clearwater. "Hey Harry, I brought company!"

Harry jumps a little and looks over at us, as his eyes land on me they widen a little. "It's about damn time. If I had to listen to Charlie gush about how his daughters were coming home, I was going to start losing my mind."

I laugh out loud as dad blushes next to me. "It's nice to meet you Harry, just call me Dani."

"Will do." He says back.

"Hey wait a minute, I do not gush!" Dad exclaimed.

"Shut up and sit down, old man. You'll scare all the fish away." Harry said, annoyed at my dad acting like a 5 year old. He then turns to me and smiles, "so Dani, your what, 17, 18?"

"Yeah I'm 17, I'm a junior." I respond back as I take a fishing pole and sit down near him. I look over to see my dad sitting to the other side of Harry.

"You should come by sometime and say hi to my daughter Leah, she's been going through a lot lately and she could use a new friend, if you don't mind" he says hopefully. So, Sam already imprinted on Emily. I let out a sigh in my head. I'll try and make sure this old man next to me lives.

I turn my head slightly, to look at him but keep an eye on the water to make sure I don't miss it if I get a bite. "Yeah or I mean I can try. I'm not really a people person but like I told my dad, new start and all." I responded back. "Just let my dad know when you want me to come meet her or something." I turn back to the lake.

"That's all I ask is that you try." He says as he smiles softly.

Dad speaks up, "I usually go down to the reservation a couple times a week. I can take you with me one night this week if you want."

"That works for me." I say back. Everything goes quiet after that. A comfortable silence once more. I'm coming to like Forks just for the simple fact that none of the people here feel the need to talk whenever someone else isn't.

And that's how our day passed. We left sometime after two in the afternoon. We caught a couple fish but they were too small to eat so we just threw them back.

While in the truck dad turns to me, "So I can't cook for the life of me. I usually just order out from the diner down the road."

I chuckle and cover it with a cough, he glared a little. "I can cook and so can Isabella. We can take turns cooking or something. Just don't expect 5 star meals."

Around an hour later I had showered and changed into a pair of shorts and an oversized t-shirt.

I walk past dad towards the kitchen, he's in the living room watching a game on tv. Alright, let's see what he's got for food.

As I search the cabinets I grab a box of pasta, some pasta sauce and start cooking. Not that pasta is exactly hard to cook. And after twenty minutes of standing over a stove I'm carrying two steaming hot plates of pasta to the living room.

I place a plate on the table in front of my dad and take a seat on the couch. "So who's winning?" I ask, pointing at the tv.

He sighs, "Not us today. We're getting our asses handed to us. On second thought I didn't say that."

"Dad, I'm 17 not 7." I let out a deadpan. He doesn't need to watch his language around me. I've heard far worse being around other teenagers in high school.

I turn my head to the entrance to the living room as I hear the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs but dad gives me a funny look. Oh, right he can't hear like I can. "I think Isabella is coming down." He looks surprised for a second before turning to where I'm looking.

"Oh hey Bella there's some pasta in the kitchen. Help yourself." Dad says and Isabella starts heading towards the kitchen without so much as a word. I roll my eyes. She could at the very least pretend she wants to be here. I get it, its not easy for her but come on.

I take dad's attention back, "So, what's forks high like?" I ask hoping to get an idea about what school will be like tomorrow.

He looks over at me and responds, "Well it's actually 5 different buildings but they're all connected. There's 4 buildings for main classes like math, science, english, science and then the fifth building is pretty much everything else. It holds the cafeteria and any elective classes. Thanks for dinner by the way." he adds the last part quickly.

"No problem." I add, "Well enjoy the rest of your game. I'm finished with dinner, I'm going to go lay down and get some early rest." I start making my way to my room as he gives a quite good night.

As I pass Isabella's room, she stops me. "Do you think the kids there will like us?" She asks me.

I sigh but answer her anyway, "I'm not sure Bella, I guess only time will tell, but how bad can it be?" A quick hug and I was off to my room.

After messing around with my powers for a while as I watched a movie on my laptop i started to fall asleep.

Forks High, vampires, here I come. Are you ready for me?
