.x. Dumbledore and his Socks .x.
Dumbledore was losing his grip. At the moment, he sat (naked) on the floor of his study in despair. Some people lose their marbles; Dumbledore had lost his socks.
This is, essentially, a confusing thing, simply because of the fact that Dumbledore does not wear socks. In fact, Dumbledore was born before socks even existed and now sees no point in wearing them. So why does Dumbledore miss his socks?
Dumbledore does things with socks that I won't name here, simply because of the fact that just thinking about what Dumbledore does with socks scars me and I genuinely care for your sanity (if, indeed, you have any at all). However, Dumbledore's socks (which happen to be the long kind that have the nice red stripes near the top) did not enjoy the same things as Dumbledore did, and had promptly wiggled away in the night and out the window.
After crying in the corner for a bit (because we all cry in corners when we lose socks), the still stark-naked Dumbledore stood up, having reached a solution to his dilemma. Dumbledore had decided the sleeve of his robes would work just fine.
