She hadn't been lying when she told Abby she'd be better than her very soon.

Elektra watches her train. Keeps tabs on her progress.
Abby is clearly getting there. She's tiny, but she's strong. Maybe "compact" is more like it. Powerful.
It's discipline she lacks.

Elektra watches her at rest. Looks for changes in her face, in her energy.
Although her body changes - she's faster, lithe, more precise with each movement - Abby does not. Pure wind and fire, she needs to center.
Even when she sleeps, she twitches and grumbles, tossing her head.

Elektra watches her sleep. Searches her face for hints of that change.
Sometimes she thinks that Abby must have changed. Something invisible, something unidentifiable.
She is more woman than girl in certain light.

Elektra watches her wake. Just this once, maybe, there is no harm.
Abby is clearly unsurprised to see her, and she smiles. Elektra allows a small smile in return, feeling promises she's made to herself dissolve.
Though she prides herself on her discipline, she thinks, just once, she can follow Abby's lead.

Elektra closes her eyes. Denies everything she knows is coming.
She knows that Abby has never been kissed. She knows a hundred reasons why this is wrong.
Abby uncertainly puts her arms around Elektra's neck, and the air is suddenly too thick to breathe.

Elektra realizes, all at once, that she has been surpassed.
