HI welcome to the new chapter! It is very close to halloween and I am being sans for halloween Lmao. It is very fitting for this occasion. Anyways I hope you will enjoy this chapter.
"What do you need to talk about?", asked Lincoln.
Before sans could start talking Papyrus came running from the kitchen.
"OK I GOT MY SPAGHETTI LET'S GO NOW", shouted Papyrus.
"I'm all set too, come on let's not waste anymore time!", said Undyne as she walked out of where the door used to be.
Papyrus followed her.
"i guess i'll tell you on the way", said sans.
Lincoln and sans followed Papyrus and Undyne out of the door, and headed towards waterfall.
Papyrus and Undyne were a bit up ahead. It seemed like they were talking about something, until Undyne pushed Papyrus over…
"So, what do you need to tell me?", asked Lincoln.
"why did you give me that look after i said i knew why papyrus acts like how he acts?", asked sans.
"That's a question not a statement…", said Lincoln.
"eh same thing"
They were definitely not the same thing.
"Uh… well, after you said that- I had a flashback", exclaimed Lincoln.
"flashback of what?"
Everyone was nearing the waterfall entrance
"Well, I don't really know, it wasn't my flashback", stated Lincoln.
"what do you mean by that?", asked sans.
"I remember something, but it's not my memory, it never happened to me", said Lincoln.
"then whose flashback was it?", asked sans.
"I think it was yours…"
"how could you possibly remember something from me?", asked sans.
"See that's the thing, I don't know… and that's why we are going to Alphys's", exclaimed Lincoln.
"what was the flashback about?"
"Well, I'm not exactly sure… but there was this kind of emergency… it looked like a bunch of scientists were being ambushed violently by… some people, I have no idea who they were. But this one person started attacking them… you were scared, but Papyrus was frightened", explained Lincoln.
"all of that did happen… I am just wondering how you know that", said sans.
"Me too, but that's not all… the person that started attacking them, they summoned in something similar to what you summoned… a blaster thing-"
"a gaster blaster…"
"Yeah that was his name…"
"Gaster"
"HEY GUYS ARE YOU GONNA HURRY UP BACK THERE?", shouted Undyne. "WE DON'T HAVE ALL DAY!"
They were now walking past sans's hut.
"YEAH WE ARE COMING! Come on sans let's hurry", said Lincoln as he ran up ahead.
Sans was still lazily walking behind.
"Come on sans hurry up", said Lincoln as he was running backwards.
Lincoln wasn't paying attention where he was going. He tripped right over a rock and he got his hair soaked.
Undyne started laughing and Papyrus made sure he was ok. But Lincoln was also laughing too. That was pretty funny.
Lincoln got up and brushed himself off.
"You know, I always thought it was weird that one side of your hair stands up, let alone being white", exclaimed Undyne.
"Heh, what made you think that?", asked Lincoln.
"Well your hair is wet now and it is all down, but how does it manage to stick up like that?", asked Undyne. "And why is it white?"
"I actually don't know, I guess that's just how my hair is… I am not exactly sure why it's white, I was born with it", exclaimed Lincoln.
"Ohhh that's pretty cool", exclaimed Undyne.
"Sometimes, some people at school just love to make fun of it", said Lincoln dejectedly.
"Those people can rot", exclaimed Undyne.
"Heheh, yeah I guess so, but now I will definitely be made fun of for… my eyes", stated Lincoln.
"Don't worry, I think your eyes look really cool", exclaimed Undyne.
"Really?"
"Yeah!"
The way Undyne playfully laughed at him when he fell. And she even tried to motivate him. Just like his sister Lynn did.
Lincoln really missed Lynn…
"UH I HATE TO INTERRUPT THIS LOVELY CONVERSATION BUT WE SHOULD PROBABLY START TO GET GOING NOW, ALPHYS WON'T BE THERE FOREVER", shouted Papyrus.
Papyrs was right, Alphys wasn't gonna spend the entire time in the lab. It's even possible that she isn't in her lab right now.
"Ok, come on Undyne let's go, and sans… SANS HURRY UP!", shouted Lincoln.
Sans was lazily walking toward the rest of the group.
"Is he always this slow?", asked Lincoln.
"UNFORTUNATELY YES, BUT I HAVE AN IDEA", shouted Papyrus. "HEY SANS HURRY IT UP! THERE'S KETCHUP OVER HERE"
Then sans came at lighting speed like he never missed anything, he even scared Lincoln a bit.
"where's the ketchup?", asked sans.
"OH THERE IS NO KETCHUP SORRY", exclaimed Papyrus.
"so you lied to make me come here faster? well played brother, well played", exclaimed sans.
"I never understood why you liked ketchup so much", said Lincoln. "It's kind of a strange addiction… I mean Papyrus likes to cook spaghetti, which is a food, but you like to drink- A condiment???"
"what can i say it is really good", exclaimed sans.
"Just don't question it Lincoln, in fact, don't question anything these two do", said Undyne.
"Uh.. Ok… Anyways, let's continue we don't have much time", said Lincoln.
The four of them continued to walk through the waterfall. Oddly enough all the "Puzzles" were already solved. So it was very easy sailing. Eventually, the 4 made it to the bridge-
The bridge…
The place where Lincoln and Undyne, The Undying fought…
Undyne, sans, and Papyrus all crossed the bridge just fine but Lincoln was still just standing there worryingly.
"HEY KIDDO ARE YOU GOOD?", asked Undyne.
Lincoln could hear Undyne, but he didn't pay attention to what she said. He was having bad flashbacks to that horrid fight.
Undyne walked back over to Lincoln to make sure he was ok.
He certainly wasn't..
"Hey you good?", asked Undyne.
Lincoln just gave her a worried look, he was terrified at the moment. He couldn't look at this place the same.
The way he was stabbed… and…
Didn't his sisters call him here?
Soon enough Undyne figured out why Lincoln was so scared.
"Oh, I think I know why you are scared right now", exclaimed Undyne.
"..."
"It's about the fight, we had… right?", asked Undyne.
Lincoln just looked to the side in guilt.
"Hey listen, that's all in the past now… you don't have to worry about that anymore", exclaimed Undyne.
Lincoln felt more hurt than relieved. He didn't know what he wanted at the moment. Maybe to erase this memory completely. But that was impossible unless he fell off the roof and hit his head so hard he got amnesia.
And that's when he heard something, Undyne heard it too. Lincoln turned around to see what it was and that's when he saw…
Monster Kid…
Seeing MK was probably one of the worst things for Lincoln right now. He killed him, a child killed a child. And Lincoln felt extremely guilty. MK just looked at Lincoln nervously.
Lincoln didn't know he was feeling right now. But it was mostly guilt and sadness, he wished he could just completely erase his act.
I mean technically he already did, but everyone had that memory still.
"H-hi"
And that's when the dam broke. Lincoln started tearing up, just looking at Monster Kid was emotional.
"M-monster kid…"
Undyne couldn't see it but just from his voice she knew Lincoln was crying. She was a little upset cause of this.
"I… I'm so sorry", cried Lincoln.
Monster kid felt a little uneasy.
"Uh- i-it's ok…" stuttered Monster Kid nervously.
"I- Promise that I won't do what I did…", apologized Lincoln.
It's the fact that Monster Kid was nervous to see him. He was scared to see him even. Now MK was confused on how everyone was alive again, but seeing the person who killed you and everyone else must be really hard.
Especially when they were your friend once…
And that's what scares Lincoln the most
"Uh… I-it's ok, I-I trust you…", stuttered Monster Kid.
Lincoln didn't believe him. The way he is looking at him and stuttering doesn't seem very genuine. Lincoln thinks MK is just saying that so he WON'T kill him again.
Lincoln was just silent, he didn't want to speak at all. He just let his tears fall.
Papyrus got kind of concerned about what was happening so he began walking toward them, with sans following close behind.
"HEY… UH, WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE?", asked Papyrus.
He saw Lincoln in front of Monster Kid, with Undyne standing behind him. Monster kid looked scared.
"Lincoln feels really guilty about killing that dang kid that falls over all the dang time", said Undyne. "I think he's actually crying about it right now"
"OH…"
"I think it would be best if we just left him-"
"No…"
"What?"
"Don't leave me, I don't want to be alone again..", said Lincoln.
"But you'll have monster kid", said Undyne.
"That's different…"
Monster Kid looked at Lincoln very uncomfortably.
"Uh, I think… I think I'm gonna go now… My parents are uh, calling me… Bai!", shouted Monster Kid as he began to run off.
But then he tripped over…
He tried to get up but since he had no arms he was struggling, and he was pretty close to the ledge-
"W-woah!"
Monster kid, slipped off the edge. The only thing that could save him was his mouth as he gripped onto the ledge with his teeth.
"H-HeLmp!", shouted Monster Kid.
Monster kid slipped more and more until he was, falling-
Lincoln acted quickly, he went over and put his hand over the ledge.
It wasn't enough..
Lincoln's whole upper body was over the ledge and he managed to grip onto Monster Kid's leg.
But Lincoln's grip wasn't that strong…
He started slipping, until he and Monster Kid were about to free fall into an eternal abyss of water.
Then Lincoln felt his soul, and he was staying in place. Sans had taken control of it and he and MK were just hovering over the abyss. Then he took Lincoln's soul and threw him back on the bridge with MK still in Lincoln's grasp.
Lincoln was shaken up, but Monster Kid was terrified. He almost just died, if it wasn't for Lincoln-
Lincoln… the person who murdered Monster Kid, saved him?
He really was different than last time.
"Y-you, you saved me?", said Monster Kid in surprise.
"Uh.. Kind of, I mean-"
Lincoln looked at sans.
"I think sans saved us if anything..", said Lincoln.
"i might have saved you but you actually saved the kid, i can't control monster souls", exclaimed sans.
"Oh so I.."
"Thank you… for saving me", thanked MK.
"Uh, n-no problem… and, I-I know I said this once already but, I am really sorry for all the things I did… everything just kind of got to my head", apologize Lincoln.
"Hey its ok! I already forgave you", said MK.
"But you seemed so nervous-"
"I was, but I was serious when I said it was ok and I trusted you, I knew you were sorry… especially when you were crying…"
Lincoln sighed, he didn't know why he started being so sensitive all of a sudden. Ever since his sisters teased him for believing in the "myth" of monsters. It was kind of strange.
"Uh, sorry about that-"
"You shouldn't be sorry for crying", exclaimed Undyne.
"YEAH I CRY WHEN I NEED TOO", shouted Papyrus. "EVEN THO I RARELY EVER CRY AT ALL, BECAUSE I AM JUST VERY HAPPY ALL THE TIME"
"you cried when one piece of spaghetti fell on the floo-"
"THAT WAS A LONG TIME AGO-"
"it was last week…", exclaimed sans.
"WELL THAT IS STILL IRRELEVANT", shouted Papyrus. "ANYWAYS, WE NEED TO GO"
"O-ok, but wait… can I talk to monster kid first?", asked Lincoln.
"Um sure, we will be right up ahead", said Undyne.
Undyne, sans, and Papyrus all walked ahead a bit and Lincoln stayed behind.
"What did you want to tell me?", asked MK.
"It's more of a question… I noticed you mentioned your parents a lot- who are they?", asked Lincoln.
"Uh…"
MK had gotten really nervous.
"Are you ok?", asked Lincoln.
"Y-yeah, but… I don't really know my parents, they disappeared when I was young… I don't even know what they look like", exclaimed MK.
Lincoln had another flashback that wasn't his. He saw sans hiding in a corner watching something. It was like a fight, a huge fight… There were explosions everywhere and just lots of war cries.
Lincoln figured this must've been the humans vs monsters battle.
He then saw 2 monsters in particular, they looked a lot like Monster Kid. They didn't have any arms just like him. They were trying the best they could to fight. But since they had no arms they were to quickly fall. MK was young, so young he couldn't walk… but someone was holding him.
Someone familiar…
Lincoln recognized them.
"Wait so, your parents died in the war… and, does… Alphys take care of you?", asked Lincoln.
"W-what? How did you know…", asked MK.
"I just, kind of did… So when you're referring to your parents you're talking about Alphys?", asked Lincoln.
"Um yeah, she's been taking care of me for quite a while… you don't see me around the lab often because well, I love to go and explore! Alphys is not to fond of me going out but look at me! I managed to stay… alive……..", said MK has he realized what he said.
Another thing for Lincoln to feel guilty of when he see's Alphys. He really broke her trust, and she was already nervous from the start.
"Well, you managed to stay alive without me… so I guess that still counts", exclaimed Lincoln.
"LINCOLN HURRY UP!", shouted Undyne.
"Uh, I got to go, just… stay away from danger ok", said Lincoln as he quickly got up.
"Wait!"
Lincoln turned around and looked at Monster Kid.
"I know I don't have arms, but… can I have a hug?", asked MK.
Lincoln was shocked, but then smiled. Doesn't matter the circumstances, MK is always willing to be kind and forgive others. Just like Papyrus, but more lowkey.
Leni was the same way… extremely kind person, although maybe a little ditzy, she was always willing to put her brother first.
Lincoln missed Leni.
He got down on one knee and wrapped his arms around MK. It felt good to hug someone after a while. Even though he just recently hugged Toriel.
"Ok Monster Kid, I got to go… maybe I'll see you later", exclaimed Lincoln.
"Oki bai!"
"Bai!"
And then Lincoln hurried to catch up with the others. They started walking again. Eventually everyone got to the entrance of Hotland.
"Wait a minute, why didn't we take the boat?", asked Lincoln.
"THERE'S A BOAT?", questioned Papyrus.
Undyne facepalmed.
"That whole mess at the bridge would have been avoided if we just took the damn boat!", shouted Undyne
"Hey it's ok, I mean we genuinely forgot and I'm glad we did go the bridge-"
"It's not ok to cause you trauma like that though", exclaimed Undyne.
"Uhh I wouldn't call it trauma", said Lincoln.
"technically it does count as trauma", exclaimed sans. "being scared of something that happened, and having flashbacks to it, and stuff that can trigger those flashbacks"
"SANS HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?", asked Papyrus.
"eh i just sorta do", said sans.
"But I'm pretty sure what sans said relates more to PTSD not trauma", stated Lincoln.
"they are primarily the same thing", said sans.
"Not really.."
"WHAT ARE ANY OF YOU TALKING ABOUT?", asked Papyrus.
"Nothing you need to be concerned about Papyrus", said Undyne. "Anyways we have more important things to discuss, we are almost in Hotland and I HATE HOTLAND!"
"Why?"
"It's waaaay too hot for me, I feel like I'm gonna turn into a fish stick!", exclaimed Undyne.
"Well then you can start here I guess-"
"No! I'm not some wimpy loser! I can deal with it for a few minutes, plus Alphys's lab is pretty cool", exclaimed Undyne.
"Uhm ok, let's just go now", said Lincoln as he tripped over a rock.
Undyne laughed a little.
"Ugh… why do I keep falling down all the time", exclaimed Lincoln.
"idk but it's pretty 'humerus'", joked sans.
"SANS! WHAT DID WE DISCUSS ABOUT MAKING A PUN AT THE WRONG TIMES!", shouted Papyrus. "HE COULD BE HURT!"
"No no, Papyrus it's ok…"
"NO IT IS NOT OK! YOU TOLD ME BEFORE, I CANNOT BE SO FORGIVING! SANS NEEDS TO LEARN WHEN IT IS APPROPRIATE TO MAKE A PUN", shouted Papyrus.
"It's really not that big of a deal…", said Lincoln.
"Yeah just lay off a little Papyrus", said Undyne.
"It's just a pun"
"Exactly"
"Plus I'm ok now", said Lincoln.
"i agree with you two, no offense pap", said sans.
"DO NOT TELL ME YOU ARE AGREEING WITH THEM", shouted Papyrus.
"well they do have a point, sometimes these things aren't a big deal and you don't need to worry about it…", stated sans.
"BUT THEY SAID I SHOULDN'T BE TOO FORGIVING"
"in serious situations, this is not serious"
"BUT IT CAN BE THAT'S JUST WHAT I'M SAYING SANS, DON'T MAKE A PUN AT THE INCORRECT TIME! PLUS ITS ANNOYING ANYWAYS", yelled Papyrus.
"my puns aren't annoying, you just can't handle them", said sans.
"I CAN BUT IT'S SO EXCESSIVE", shouted Papyrus.
Lincoln was sorta shocked, are sans and Papyrus really starting to argue right now? Lincoln has never seen them argue at all before.
"what is even so excessive about it?", asked sans in annoyance.
"WHAT DO YOU EVEN MEAN? LITERALLY EVERY TIME I SAY SOMETHING YOU RESPOND WITH A PUN"
"i didn't even do it the whole time until now cause i already knew it wasn't a good time too"
"YOU JUST MADE ONE WHEN LINCOLN FELL! WHAT IF HE WAS ACTUALLY HURT?"
"well he wasn't"
"WHAT IF HE WAS THO"
"well he's not"
"SANS YOU'RE MISSING MY POINT! MY POINT IS WHAT IF YOU MADE A JOKE OUT OF LINCOLN'S SUFFERING!"
"Woah Woah Woah, relax… I am not suffering right now and sans would never do that… you two need to calm down", demanded Lincoln.
"I WILL ONLY BE CALM IF SANS APOLOGIZES AND NEVER MAKES A PUN AGAIN!"
"never make a pun? that's what i like doing, that's like me saying you can't ever make spaghetti again"
"AT LEAST IT'S NOT HURTING ANYONE-"
"my puns were never even hurting anyone"
"YES THEY WERE!"
Sans was extremely pissed off… at his own brother.
"if they were so hurting they you wouldn't mind if i do this!", shouted sans.
And he summoned what Lincoln was most afraid of.
A Gaster Blaster.
Was sans really going to hurt-
His own brother?
The same person he cried for when he died?
Lincoln gasped in shock.
"NO!"
He jumped in front of Papyrus and formed a shield, blocking sans's attack.
"SANS WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?", yelled Lincoln.
Sans had only just realized what the hell he was doing.
"Are you really going to hurt your own brother for a stupid argument!? And Papyrus… are you REALLY going to tell sans to quit what he loves JUST because you find it annoying?", asked Lincoln in frustration.
The two skeleton brothers were quiet for a moment. It had been a long time since they had an argument. Undyne just stood there awkwardly.
"Are you guys gonna say anything?", asked Lincoln.

"You know you are lucky I have this strange ability, or else things could've ended badly", said Lincoln.
…
"What are you doing? say something!", shouted Lincoln
…
"At least an apology-!"
"Lincoln I think they need time to cool off, they seem to be thinking right now", said Undyne.
"It's not even that hard to say sorry!"
Lincoln had to take a breath for a moment.
"Man I'm stressed out and I'm not even related to them", exclaimed Lincoln. "And I've been in a lot of sibling fights… Can you just apologize to each other?"

Lincoln was getting really frustrated, he hated to see the two skele brothers fight with each other, especially when they rarely ever did.
"I SWEAR TO GOD IF ONE OF YOU DOESN'T SAY ANYTHING I'LL- GHA-"
Lincoln felt that he wasn't on the ground anymore and he felt a pressure on his chest.
Ah yes, sans was controlling his soul again, but why?
Just the thought of that made Lincoln terrified.
"Sans what are you doing?", asked Undyne.
Sans didn't answer Undyne, he was just kind of frustrated at the moment. Lincoln didn't make it any better. So that's why he controlled his soul, to make him shut up.
"Sans please… All I wanted was for you guys to just say sorry to each other, I didn't mean to make you angry", exclaimed Lincoln.

Sans said something in language that no one could understand
No one, except Lincoln…
He didn't know how he could understand, but he did. And it wasn't very pleasant either, this hurt him more.
"OK THAT'S IT! SANS PUT LINCOLN DOWN", shouted Undyne. "I'M TIRED OF YOU ALL FIGHTING ITS GIVING ME A HEADACHE! Can we just all apologize and get to Alphys's"
"Sorry sans… I didn't mean to make you angry", exclaimed Lincoln. "I just hate fighting, even though I did it a lot with my sisters"
"SANS I'M SORRY TOO, I OVERREACTED… ALTHOUGH MY POINT STILL STANDS", shouted Papyrus.
…
"i'm sorry too pap, i also overreacted and i should of listened to you and lincoln", said sans.
"SO WE ARE ALL GOOD NOW CORRECT?", asked Undyne.
"Yes"
"GOOD, sorry for shouting… but we need to stop this nonsense", exclaimed Undyne. "It's getting us nowhere"
"YOU HAVE A POINT, WELL LETS ALL GO NOW"
And the quad began walking until they had arrived in front of Alphys's lab
That's the end of the chapter, I decided to try and make this more unique. And about Alphys taking care of monster kid. Me and my friend were making a theory about what if Alphys was MKs mom. Since Alphys came up when I searched up monster kid for some odd reason. Also when Lincoln became stressed because sans and Papyrus were arguing that's literally me irl lol. I have 2 friends that are siblings and when they argue it stresses me out a lot lol. Well anyways bai! See ya soon!
