Trouble.
Disclaimer: None of the Atlantis characters are mine.
Summary: Just an idea I had. I think it's hilarious. I know it's short, but it's what was in my head.
Colonel John Shepard and Dr Rodney McKay strode down to Dr Elizabeth Weir's office, neither speaking, both tense, ready for a confrontation. Earlier that morning they had stumbled across an empty room, in a previously unexplored region of the city of Atlantis. At first, the room had seemed perfectly normal, aside from the lack of contents. As the two men had entered, something strange happened. The walls peeled back, to reveal panels on the wall. Rodney had, of course, insisted on dismantling the panels, before experimenting with the various controls. Shepard had disagreed with this assessment, as per usual. The resulting fight had landed them both in the infirmary, and trouble.
They entered the office without knocking, and received a glare from Elizabeth, the Atlantis expedition commander. They retreated back out again, and this time, John stuck his head round the door and asked tentatively, " Can we come in?"
" We'll see." Was the terse, if somewhat amused reply.
" Humph."
Elizabeth smiled to herself at the disgruntled expression on her XO's face. It was, she admitted to herself, hard to stay angry with the young, puppy-faced Colonel for long. Rodney, however, was a different matter. The disagreeable scientist was well-meaning, but his ego got in the way too often, and she couldn't have that. And both men needed to realize that this kind of behavior would not be tolerated.
Ten minutes later Rodney and John exited the office at high speed. Drs Radek Zelenka, and Carson Becket watched in amusement. It wasn't often that you saw the two men being dressed down, but when the rare event occurred, it was always funny. Elizabeth followed them out, a triumphant expression on her face, her hands resting on her hips.
" Well," She said, " That's them dealt with, who's next?"
The scientists and control room crew quickly turned away. Elizabeth's smile grew wider.
