Author Note: I can't believe that 2021 is almost over. I hope that you enjoy this one take story for New Years Eve. I am not sure what kind of stories that I will be posting in 2022. I ended up posting twelve new stories and finished one new story from 2020.

Character Summary:

Steve has been dating Leah for the past four months. He is still in charge of Five 0 but ended up taking a little break from the task force and Hawaii to heal from Joe's death and everything with his mother. He recently returned to Hawaii with Leah.

Leah has been dating Steve for the past four months. She is currently teaching in Hawaii with the kindergarten class.

Steve walked into headquarters after being gone for the last six months. His life had been easy for the past six months but now he is ready to get back to normal.

"Hey, welcome back." Danny greeted his friend with a smile.

"Thank you and it's good to be back. I missed everyone here in Hawaii." Steve said as he gave each of them hugs.

"But you were too busy to call any of us." Grover joked to him with a smile.

"Sorry about that. I was just really busy." Steve responded to him.

"With what?" Danny asked his friend. He wanted to get to know what Steve had gone through while out of town.

"Just trying to heal from everything with my mom and Joe. I got to see my sister and niece while I was on the mainland." Steve responded to him. "I also got introduced to my sister's friend Leah about six months ago. We started dating about four months ago."

"Well do we get to meet her?" Grover asked his friend with a smile. Grover was happy that his friend was seeing someone since his last girlfriend Lynn.

"At our New Years Eve's party." Steve revealed to his team.

"So what happened between you and Catherine? We know that you two were on the same plane together." Danny responded to his friend with a smile.

"We are nothing more than friends. She moved on with someone and so have I." Steve responded to him.

"Well we are happy for you." Danny said as they all go back to work. It was nice to have Steve back at work.

Later that night, Leah was at her apartment when she heard a knock on the door. She walked over to the door and opened it. She was happy to see that it was Mary and Joan.

"Oh my goodness, I am happy that you are here." She said to Mary and Joan as she let them come in.

"I am glad to see that my brother has finally came back home where he belongs and brought you with him." Mary responded with a smile.

"I am glad to be home to Mary but I wish that you two would not talk about me without me being here." Steve joked to his sister and girlfriend.

"Oh where is the fun in that?" Mary joked back with her brother. She knew that he was kidding.

A few hours later, they were getting ready for their New Years Eve party. Steve could tell that Leah was starting to get nervous.

"Hey, it's going to be okay." Steve said to her. "My friends are looking forward to meeting you."

"Well I am glad that they are looking forward to meeting them because I am looking forward to meeting them."

The party started and they all enjoyed ringing in the New Year together.
