"Alright! Day two of the Ultimate Smash Battle!" Akane said. "Wonder what kinda fighters they're gonna throw at us this time?"
"Probably some tougher ones. We went through the first day with a 6 match winning streak and only one battle ended in a draw." Connor mentioned.
"And that's the play-by-play on how things went down." Kokichi said. "I've never seen so many fighters in one place, though. This is gonna be quite exciting."
"Yeah, although one fight in particular wasn't exactly what I would call professional." David said.
"Right, Shadow Prove." Ace said.
"One time, and nobody lets it go, huh?" Shadow Prove asked.
"Hey. If you ask us, Reformed Society, Chi Ta, and the audience themselves, you got off lucky." David said.
"Yup." Al said. "Your attitude hasn't improved since Organica either."
"We just need to be careful about who we send out from here on out. Remember, not all of the smashers are actual fighters, there are a few…. Unique individuals." Hope said.
"Like Villager and Isabelle?" Emil asked.
"Yes, like them. When they get called up, we gotta make sure we choose wisely in group selection. Better not to be known affiliates of a teammate who beat up the mayor of an island town or his adorable dog secretary." Hope said.
"Just for the record, I only went after Isabelle so Colette could free Lloyd." Genis said.
"Nobody'll judge you for that, Genis. That was a special case." Emo said. "She was brainwashed, and you helped break her out of it."
"Who are you and what have you done with Emo?" Stoj teased.
"Hey, just stating the obvious." Emo replied, cracking a grin.
"There he is." Takeshi said, shaking his head in amusement. "Now, come on. The first match of the day is about to begin."
The groups made their way to the arena floor as the crowd was already cheering.
"Hello and welcome." called out a man in a robe. "I am Mon Ki. I will be your ref for today. Now...let's introduce our next fighter." he said as the lights shined down. "He's a strange little fellow from a world populated by anthropomorphic animals and is human. His hobbies include building, bug catching and donating to museums. He is also the Mayor of Smashville. Welcome...Villager!" he called out as the young boy himself walked on in.
"A mayor in a town full of animals? And he's human? That's an interesting thing to note." Nesma said.
"More importantly, the ref is different this time. A friend of Chi Ta's, we're assuming?" Rhaptla asked.
"I guess so. Maybe she can't always watch over the fights full time." Vashryon said.
"Well, this place does have multiple arenas, so it's only natural that there would be multiple referees for different matches, right?" Teba asked.
"Yes, that would make sense." Miriam said.
"As for his opponent, we have someone from the Neo Dimensional Heroes facing this happy little villager." Mon Ki said as the lights shined down. "She's the warrior elf from a village in the deepest parts of the Enchanted Forest with dreams of becoming a member of the Universal Police. She's the Frozen Elf! Welcome...Tulip!" he said as Tulip walked into the arena.
"Whoa...go Tulip!" Zexi called out.
"As for the arena, we'll be taking it to the Villager's little home in Smashville." Mon Ki said as the two fighters arrived in a small town. "Let the battle...begin!"
"Ice Make: Arrow Barrage!" Tulip said firing multiple ice arrows at the Villager as he then erected a large tree to help shield against them. He then quickly chopped it down as it nearly fell on Tulip who quickly got out of its path.
"Whoa...he is brutal." Leonis said.
"All right. Have it your way then." Tulip said. "Ice Make: Cannons!" she said creating cannons as they fired ice cannonballs as the Villager went and pocketed one before sending it right back at her, sending her back.
"What th-how'd he do that?!" Glimmer asked.
"Apparently he and Isabelle can use their nifty ability to stash items to absorb attacks and send them right back at the attacker." Chiaki said.
"This one may be a little more difficult than I…" she said as the Villager moved quickly around her as he went and built a house around her with her inside.
Villager smiled and celebrated as the house soon exploded in a mass of fireworks.
"Ugh...that was unexpected." Tulip groaned as she got back on her feet. "But now...I guess I don't really need to take it easy with you anymore, do I?" she asked.
The Villager just kept smiling as they produced a Lloid ready to fire.
"My thoughts exactly. Ice Devil's...Rage!" she roared as a mass of ice froze both the Villager and the Lloid in one sitting.
"Whoa...talk about an icy rage. With the Villager unable to move...the winner of the bout is...Tulip!" Mon Ki said as the audience cheered.
"Yeah...that's our resident elf!" Leonis called out.
"She's gotten ever so closer to her dream." Harumi said.
"Yeah...definitely." Zexi said. "I look forward to the day when she accomplishes it."
