"Okay...wasn't that exciting? For now, we move on to one of more...well grown fighters." Mon Ki said. "Hailing from the pipes, this rogue plant has come to show the real meaning of flower power. It is the Bloom of your Doom! Welcome...the Piranha Plant!" he said as a couple of attendants brought in the carnivorous plant in its pot and put it on the stage.
"A plant made it into Smash?" Theo said.
"Don't let its size and appearance fool you. They were quite a nuisance to Mario and Luigi over the course of their adventures." Roy said.
"I heard they got let in on a sort of special invite, but that's just a rumor." Gemini said.
"As for this little weed's opponent...it's been decided that it'll be the Shining Hope Squad." Mon Ki said.
"Oh boy... we got a weird one." Zephyr said.
"I absolutely refuse to fight something based in nature… even if it is a bit hideous." Perfuma said.
"Didn't you have a flytrap as a pet?" Hope asked. "But anyway, it's plant based in nature, so it'll have weakness against fire."
"In that case, I'm the right one for the job!" Flamberge said.
"Really Flamberge?" Hope asked. "I'm glad you want to, but…"
"I know what you're thinking, but this isn't about proving myself to Galarian Moltres." Flamberge said. "This is about fighting for myself and trying to work out my issues. And also to help you guys out more and not get in the way."
"In other words, you want to fight not just on behalf of us, but to improve yourself." Ichiro said. "By all means then, go out there and do just that."
"I will!" Flamberge said, running out to the arena.
(Cue: Rebel Heart by CFO$)
"A Spirit of blazing fire is about to engulf the entire arena in flames!" Mon Ki said. "She is the youngest of a trio of Elemental Mage Siblings, and a master with the blade and Fire Magic. Will she blaze a trail of victory for her group, or be overcome by her fiery temper? She is the Bringer of Flame! Flamberge!"
Flame pillars erupted from Flamberges entranceway as she came out of the smoke, taking warm up jumps before walking out to the arena.
"Go Berge!" Francisca said.
"Bring home the victory!" Zan said.
"And now..the location they'll be fighting is...tropical Isle Delfino!" Mon Ki said as the two appeared on the tropical island paradise. "You may...begin!"
Flamberge drew her sword and made the first move, charging head first towards the Piranha plant.
The plant smirked before it spit out a purple smoke at her.
"Ugh...is this poison?" Flamberge said as the Piranha Plant smacked her with the spikes that suddenly grew from its head.
Flamberge recovered and shook her head before focusing back on her opponent.
"Is that the best you can do?" Flamberge said before stabbing her sword into the ground and gathering flaming rubble on it, before flinging it straight at the carnivorous plant.
The Piranha Plant then started spinning its leaves as it took off into the air.
Flamberge responded by conjuring five separate swords and launching them all at her target. Piranha Plant was able to evade some of them, but two of them hit him directly as it fell to the ground.
"Not smirking anymore, are you? Let's wrap this up!" Flamberge said, spinning her blade as she went in to take down her foe.
She then felt something tap her shoulder.
"What is it? I gotta...gotta…." Flamberge said as she saw an even larger Piranha Plant standing behind her with a look of anger.
"Wait, isn't that...Petey Piranha?!" Kazuichi said.
Petey Piranha held two cages in both of his leaf-like hands before slamming them together as he roared at Flamberge.
"Okay, I honestly did not know you guys grew this big…. Or could even walk." Flamberge said.
The Piranha Plant snickered as it grabbed some popcorn as it sat back to watch the carnage as Petey chased after Flamberge.
"Way to go Berge, you jumped in without thinking and look where it got you!" Flamberge said as she avoided Petey slamming his cages anywhere flamberge was. "Wait a minute… maybe I can use this big guy against his relative!"
Flamberge then bounded all over the stage as Petey tried to smash her, missing every time as she was able to get away.
"C'mon, you can do better than that! If you can't even hit me, then how are you even gonna defeat Mario?!" Flamberge taunted, avoiding cage and jaw attacks. "In fact, remind me again how many times you've lost to him?"
Petey steamed before he leaped into the air and prepared to come crashing down, hoping to crush Flamberge. Unfortunately Flamberge moved right near the position where the original Piranha Plant was, and Petey didn't even realize it as he came down.
"Uh oh." the Piranha Plant squeaked as Petey fell right on top of him.
"And...he is not getting up from that. The winner of this match is Flamberge!" Mon Ki said as the audience applauded as Flamberge headed back to the stands.
"Wow...that was incredible." Zan said.
"Yes. You played it smart." Perfuma said.
"Thanks. Oh...and here's a new plant for your collection." Flamberge said handing off the flattened Piranha Plant.
"Oh, goody!" Perfuma said, grabbing it.
"I'm impressed, Flamberge. How'd you know your strategy would work?" Ichiro asked.
"I basically deal with anger issues all the time, and lots of things set me off… especially if my sisters get hurt." Flamberge siad. "I knew Petey was already angry with me as I was hitting the plant I was fighting so I stoked the fires a bit by taunting him about his rivalry with the Mario Bros. Once he was steamed, I lured him right into crushing the very one he was protecting, and he didn't realize it in his rage."
"Who knew someone like you could think so tactically?" Catra asked.
"Hey, there's more to me than just fire and temper, y'know." Flamberge said. "Rage is a great source of power, but it's dangerous. If I wanna get stronger and protect everyone that I call my friends, I have to master how to manipulate and use my anger and flames to their fullest."
"Smart smash...real smart smashing right there." Jexi said.
"Thanks...but the real fights are just beginning." Flamberge said.
As the audience was in amazement, Mon Ki smirked. "The audience is reaching its peak. Think it's time to introduce one of the...special matches." he said.
