"Okay...for this match. Let's go from the physical and move into the supernatural!" Mon Ki said as the lights shined down. "Better beware boys, she is more than just a pretty face. She may end up shooting you full of holes if she isn't too busy slaughtering angels and demons. She is the Umbra Witch! We welcome...Bayonetta!" he said as Bayonetta showed herself into the arena.
"Guess it's my turn then." Simon said.
"Wait, Mon Ki hasn't even announced which group is gonna face Bayonetta yet!" Glimmer asked.
"The minute Bayonetta was announced and she made her entrance, I think it's completely obvious who is gonna fight her." Hope said. "There's no need to choose a group. It's already been decided."
"That's right." Simon said. "It's time."
"And now...let's introduce the opponent!" Mon Ki said. "From Spirit Force, this young man has conquered many demons and uses them as tools to further his own strength. A member of the Nephilim royal family and a dedicated disciple of the paranormal. He is the Umbra Warlock. Welcome...Simon...Neptune!" he called out as the audience cheered.
"Long time no see." Simon said.
"Same here, little boy." Bayonetta said. "I hope you're ready for what you're getting into."
"Don't worry, I've got a few new tricks up my sleeve since we last faced off." Simon said.
"I know. Rodin tells me he made you your own set of guns." Bayonetta said, going into stance with Love is Blue. "And he's made you some copies of my own arsenal. But you know… it's not polite to imitate a genuine article."
"Well, guess I'll have to show you I do more than just imitate someone." Simon said.
Bayonetta smiled as both users of the power of the Left Eye stood across from each other.
"Let us now transport these two Umbra warriors to a fitting battlefield! Their destination of battle will be….The Umbra Clock Tower!"
(Cue- Chapter 13 Closing- Drakengard 3 DLC Soundtrack)
The two Umbra mages appeared on the falling clock face as they looked at one another.
"You may...begin!" Mon Ki called out.
Simon and Bayonetta then charged towards one another as they soon began trading blows in close combat with their guns.
"Soul Eater!" Simon called, thrusting Caladbolg onto Bayonetta as it hit multiple times before he manifested darkness in his right hand. "Burst!" he called, moving his right hand in front of him as Bayonetta was sent flying by the burst of darkness from it.
"Hmm...cheeky." Bayonetta retaliated by firing a number of bullets at Simon.
"Woop!" Simon said as he cartwheeled out of the way of the incoming bullets before making his way towards Bayonetta. "Launch!" he called, launching her up with a backflip kick before having Madama Butterfly slam her back onto the platform with a fist.
Bayonetta recovered. "Not bad. Props for having Madama listen to you as well. But she's under contract to me first and foremost."
"I am an Enhanced with your abilities after all." Simon said.
"Alright then…shall we continue to dance, boy?" Bayonetta asked.
"We shall." Simon answered.
Both Left Eye users went back into the fray as they parried each other's blows and kicks as bullets flew all over the stage, as if they were dancing in sync at a ball.
"What a thing of beauty! The two of them are almost identical. They are neck and neck as they continue to match one another blow for blow!" Mon Ki said.
Bayonetta was able to get a combo going as she found an opening before delivering a Wicked weave of her own, Madama's Fist hitting Simon and sliding him back. She then switched to Kafka and fired a rapid storm of arrows that homed in on her enhanced.
Simon soon drew Rakshasa as he sliced away the arrows at lightning speed before finishing with a Wicked Weave in the form of a double bladed stab.
"Well, you've certainly gotten better." Bayonetta said. "But in terms of experience with different weapons, you don't have any with this one, do you?" she asked, equipping a sort of Whip gauntlet on her arms.
"(Here they come….the Alruna.)" Simon thought.
Bayonetta lashed out with the whips as they attempted to strike at Simon. They had an incredibly long reach.
"The weapon that was made from a woman who doused herself in mandrake poison and consumed her soul before being reincarnated in Inferno." Simon said.
"Jealous you don't have these?" Bayonetta asked, connecting with a few lashes.
"Not at all." Simon said before drawing Zero's Blade that had a long black ribbon attached to the bottom of the loop guard. "That's why I have this!" he said, throwing it forward and tying it around Bayonetta before launching himself forward and delivering a drop kick, before following up with a rising sword slash.
"It seems we are evenly matched." Bayonetta said as both had their guns back. "What do you say we finally show the crowd the good stuff?"
"You read my mind, ladies first." Simon said with a smirk.
"Hmm...Gomorrah!" Bayonetta called out as she went and summoned the large demon.
"This would be 'Smashing' as you'd usually say?" Simon asked.
"Indeed." Bayonetta said.
Gomorrah then proceeded to chomp down on Simon a few times before letting out an Elephant roar as Simon was launched by the attack, his clothes slightly bloodstained.
"Well done, well done. I wouldn't expect anything less of the true left eye." Simon said as he stood up. "But now it's my turn." he said as a crimson aura exuded from him before he tossed his weapon into the air and let out a shout as the blood on his clothes burst off into rose petals as he began glowing red and sang out loud before charging forward and unleashing an onslaught of barehanded strikes before snapping his fingers as Madama appeared and finished with a powerful right hook as he soon reverted and caught his weapon.
Bayonetta was sent flying off the falling piece of the clock tower as a result, smiling as she did.
"(Well done, Simon. I suppose I'll let you have this win. But the next time we meet, don't expect the same result.)" Bayonetta said.
"And this match has ended and the winner is...Simon Neptune!" Mon Ki said as the audience cheered.
"That was an excellent fight, Cereza." Simon said as he helped Bayonetta up. "I look forward to our next bout in the future."
"The next time we do this, things might be a little different." Bayonetta said. "Who knows when we'll meet again. Until then, Simon… keep yourself in suspense." she winked before walking off.
"I will." Simon smirked, walking away as well as he took out a lollipop. "Until our next future encounter."
Simon returned to the stands with everyone in attendance.
"That was an amazing fight, Simon." Hope said. "Nice combination use of your Intoner Powers with your Umbra magic at the end."
"Thanks." Simon said.
"That's just one of the more exciting fights we're gonna see in this tournament. Every group is gonna get at least one of those." Mermista said. "Least that's what I think."
"Well...nothing to do but sit back...and watch what comes." Zexi said.
