Well, this was a long time coming. But lets see if I can't try to keep with this story with everything else. Yeah, I am so sorry for not writing in this story for a long time, there were times I felt blocked, I didn't know what to write, not inspired and just other factors. So yeah, I am really sorry for not writing anything in a long time.
And well, thanks to ralexis cor, who I will take up the suggestion of someone learning her secret of being a Ranger, I have a time and episode when that will happen, Dance-of-Pales, which by the way I did not know that being nonverbal when having trouble with volume was something writers had troubles, I'll be honest in that I'm doing this with no knowledge of what deaf people do but also trying not to stereotype and making her a actual character and person, brankel1, and Adam Park, whose review that I had to translate, but happy to see is deaf and is enjoying the story. If you're still willing, I'll keep your help in mind.
Disclaimer is I do not own Power Rangers, it is owned by Hasbro. I only own Eliza along with her power as a Ranger and Zord, and David.
Chapter 8 - I, Eye Guy
Walking to Billy's garage lab, Eliza looked as he did some work on something with a young boy who was similarly dressed in overalls. David looked as she approached, she asked, "Hey, Billy, what do you have cooked this time?"
"Actually, this is a invention that my friend here made for the science fair." Billy said, smiling. "Sorry there's not enough for you two, but maybe you can gauge our reaction to how it is." David and Eliza nodded, as the young boy breathed.
"I hope this is gonna work." He said, sounding nervous.
"Oh, come on." Billy said, trying to encourge him. "You gotta have faith. Just relax, all right?"
With a nodd, Billy smiled and said, "All right, let's go. Goggles on, everyone!"
Eliza looked as the two of them, Jason, Zack, Kimberly, and Trini put on the red goggles, activating the simulation of the project. Eliza and David smiled as the group seemed to have a good time, enjoying the simulation of fast paced ride. It seemed to be going well since Kimberly stated she was getting dizzy and the simulation ended.
"Sounds like a pass to me." David said.
"Lets hope the judges see it the same way." Billy said, helping pack up the project.
"Willy, you invented this game?" Jason asked, amazed.
Embarrassed, the young boy named Willy smiled and said, "Yeah! I'm entering it in the junior science fair."
"Then sounds like we should get going." Eliza said, smiling. "Don't wanna be late for the competition."
Everyone nodded, getting the game packed and headed for the Juice Bar where the science fair was being held. Meanwhile, Rita was observing and smiled, wanting to steal the intelligence of young Willy and make it her own.
Back on Earth, everyone walked with Willy to the Juice Bar. Eliza spoke with David through sign language about what she thought of the city so far and the incidents of Rita's attacks with the Rangers defending the city. Eliza signed that she found the city enjoyable and she was a little worried and scared about the attacks but she imagined that the Power Rangers would appear and stop her each time. David looked at her, not sure what to think of the Rangers.
Jason walked up beside David and talked with him, curious about learning sign language and maybe having a spar with him. Eliza breathed, hoping that she didn't slip up about the Rangers. She noticed Kimberly looking around, she did keep her guard in case Rita chose to do something and ruin a good day like she does.
Suddenly a group of Putties appeared, surrounding the group and trying to take Willy's invention. David brought out his staff, extending it and swinging it to hit a Putty away. He, Eliza, and the other Rangers stood around Willy, protecting the young boy from the gray cray made minion of the evil space sorceress. The group just focused on fighting the Putties and protecting Willy.
Grabbing her bag off her shoulder, Eliza swung it, hitting the clay created minion while David spun his staff, swinging it to hit the Putties. Once all the Putties were defeated, Eliza looked at David who looked confused.
"Why would Rita send Putties here out of nowhere?" He pondered.
"It could have something to do with Willy or his invention." Eliza said. "This isn't the first time she would capture a child for something, you know."
Trini and Kimberly nodded, Kimberly said, "Well, the Putties are gone so there's nothing to worry about, hopefully. Come on, lets get to the science fair."
David looked at her and nodded, walking with the group to the Juice Bar. Each Ranger tried to calm down him down and reassure him. While he took their words to heart, he still was unsure and shrugged, walking with them and they finally arrived at the center. One of the judges say that judging would start soon and any latecomers would be disqualfied.
So while Billy and Willy went to set up his project, Eliza breathed and stretched, looking around at the various science projects and trying not to think about what Rita had planned. As if on cue, Bulk and Skulk appeared and upon seeing there was a science fair going on, they decided to try and mess with the fair. Eliza looked with Kimberly as they took a invention from a young man and Skulk used it on Bulk to make his pants disappear.
Everyone who saw it began to laugh and Billy stepped up, saying, "Put it down, Skull."
Crossing her arms, Eliza watched as Bulk and Skulk tried to taunt him by Bulk saying, "Ah, well, if it isn't the king geek himself."
Not feeling threatened by his insult, Billy simply told him, "Don't you feel a little out of place here? I mean after all, a IQ is required."
"This is all the IQ I need." Bulk said, making a fist. Kimberly hid a laugh while Eliza put her hand to her forehead, shaking her head.
Skull copied his friend and Billy just shook his head as David walked up with Jason and Zack, Jason commented, "Bulk, all you need is a club. You'd make a perfect caveman."
"You sure he would know to use it?" David asked Jason as Zack made a grunting caveman-like sound to intimidate the two bullies. Then he laughed with Jason and David, which didn't make Bulk too happy.
"You…. Are dust." He threatened, with Skull copying what he said.
Zack said, as he further angered them, "Temper, temper."
The two bullies tried to throw punches, but the two Rangers and David dodged the punches as well as catching some punches while trying to avoid the punches. Eliza looked, watching and looking worried, since while she was happy that David was trying to protect Willy and not give Bulk and Skulk any attention, the judge might see the fighting and mistake it for something else.
As if on cue, after Skull was tossed into a trash can and Bulk fell into some boxes on a nearby dolly, Billy wheeled them into a booth that gave the two 'bullies' a very feminine makeover, which caused them to run screaming and making the others and everyone laugh, the judge happened to see the event. Having not seen how it started, he disqualified Willy, David looked down as the young boy ran out.
While the guys, excluding David, ran to comfort him, Kimberly saw that Eliza took out her hearing aids and sighed. Trini also saw her remove her hearing aid and asked while Kimberly and Daivd signed.
"What's wrong?" She asked. "Is there too much noise around here?"
"'Well, the noise is kinda getting to me, but also I had a feeling that would happen when Bulk and Skulk appeared.'" Eliza signed with David translating.
Kimberly and Trini looked confused at first before they smiled and looked embarrassed, Kimberly said, signing, "Oh yeah, whenever Bulk and Skull are around, things usually don't go so well."
Eliza and David smiled at them, then David asked, signing, "Well, what should we do now?"
"Lets look around and talk til the boys come back with Willy." Kimberly said, signing for Eliza.
Trini and Eliza nodded, as Eliza put her hearing aids back in her ears and the four of them began to walk around, looking at the other inventions at the fair. As they walked around, Eliza signed and talked with the two girls about her life and how her and David got to know each other, David was embarrassed, rubbing his hair and thought that the girls might think he was weird cause of his two colored eyes.
"What, no." Kimberly said, looking at him, shocked. "That is so cool. I've never seen anyone with eyes like that."
David blushed that Kimberly thought his eyes looked cool and looked away while Eliza looked for the boys and got worried that they hadn't come back yet. Trini was worried too so the four of them left the science fair and went to look for the young boy. They ran to the park to look for Willy, worried that Rita might have taken him or even worse.
"Guys, over here!" Billy shouted, getting their attention.
Running to a rock pile near the lake, the girls saw Billy holding a dark navy cap and Kimberly asked, "Any luck, guys?"
"Willy's gone!" Zack said, looking worried.
"We looked everywhere but we only found his lucky cap." Billy said, holding the cap in his hands.
Groaning, Eliza found their communicators go off, Jason said, "It's Zordon. He's calling us in. Prepare to teleport."
The six Rangers nodded, lining up and teleporting to the Command Center, finding Alpha working at the controls and turning to see them as they teleported in. The six looked at their mentor and Billy asked, sounding worried, "Zordon, what do you know of Willy's disappearance?"
Appearing in his prison, Zordon told the Rangers, "Your suspicions are correct. Rita is responsible. Behold the Viewing Globe."
Turning to the large globe in the room, they saw a large eye that captured Willy within a bright light, he explained, "The boy is being held prisoner within the Internal Vortex – a world located inside Eyeguy's main eye. Rita wishes to gain control of Willy's powerful mind.
"Well, how do we free him?" Billy asked.
"Eyeguy's main eye must be destroyed, only then will Willy be released and the creature stopped." Zordon explained to them.
Breathing, Eliza rubbed her hair and said, "Considering the name of the creature, figuring which is the main eye will take a insane amount of luck."
Everyone nodded, knowing it would be a slim chance to get the right eye to hit, looking worried and concerned for the young boy and trying to think about what to do as Alpha gave his usual worried cry. Eliza looked at the others, worried that she may have brought the mood down with her comment.
But Billy spoke up and said, "We got to save Willy!"
"Then let's move!" Kimberly said, agreeing with him.
"It's morphin time." Jason said.
The six Rangers nodded at each other, transforming into their forms as Rangers and teleporting into the forest to find the creature. Running to a valley, they found the eye monster with Baboo, one of Rita's henchmen. Rolling her shoulders, Eliza reached into her small bag and tossed some flash bombs then summoned her Power Hammer. While everyone tried to fight the monster, it suddenly sent lasers at them.
Jason suggested that they create the Power Blaster, so they brought their weapons together and created the blaster, firing and causing the monster to explode into a pile.
"Okay, aside from wanting to throw up, we need to find the main eye." Eliza said, looking at the others.
However, the eyes floated up and reformed the body, sending a powerful attack to them, sending them flying down a hillside.
"What happened?!" Kimberly grumbled. "I thought he was finished!"
"He's still got Willy!" Zack noted.
Eliza said, "We need to find the main eye and destroy that to get Willy out of there!"
Billy looked down, getting to the point of giving up, but Zordon called the group, "Billy! My sensors show that Eyeguy has his main eye hidden in another part of the park. Leave the others to fight and track down the eye. You'll find the eye in a forested location just south of your position And Billy, you must hurry!"
Nodding, Billy looked at everyone and said, "You guys keep him busy, I'm going after the main eye."
"Alright, go, Billy." Eliza said, looking at him.
However, the monster attacked again and Billy ran to find the main eye, the others guessed that he got the eye as the monster began to groan in pain before they saw Rita's staff appear and enlarge the monster. Eliza sighed and the group summoned their Zords, coming together to make the Megazord. They summoned the Megasword and fought the monster.
Luckily, they found the main eye and sent a empowered slash to destroy the monster and ran to the young boy that went flying to the ground.
Shaking his head, he smiled, "Wow! The Power Rangers!"
"You okay there?" Eliza asked, kneeling to him to help him up.
Trini said, "I guess we've had a pretty big day, huh?"
"I think you should head back to the science fair." Eliza said, surprising him. "Just talk to the judges and see if he'll let you enter again."
He nodded, running back to the Juice Bar and the others detransformed, meeting with him and David. They walked with him to the Juice Bar and he smiled, saying, "I still can't believe the Power Rangers actually saved my life."
"Well, they're all about helping people and protecting them from that awful Rita." Eliza said, smiling.
"Yeah, aren't they the greatest?" Billy said.
"I wish I could meet them." David said. "For some reason, I just want to know who they are."
Eliza looked at him and Billy returned Willy's hat to him, before they saw Ernie and the judge actually enjoying his invention. After removing the goggles, the judge saw Willy and apologized, saying that he overreacted to the incident and realized that it wasn't Willy's fault. And since he actually tried his invention, he had decided to give it first prize.
Eliza smiled with everyone, happy to see Willy happy and his work recognized. Then Bulk and Skull returned, asking for their clothes back.
Eliza smiled as Kimberly said that they had been washed and sterlized, giving them their shrunken clothes and making everyone laugh.
I will say, I did enjoy this ending to the episode, but also kinda liked how they adapted the brief clip of the source material to work with the monster's power. Can't find creativity like that nowadays.
Next chapter, the Rangers show their hobbies to their school, Rita brings to life one of Trini's special dolls, a new monster appears and begins to captures things in bottles, Trini starts to have a strange dream. If I will be honest, this will be a weird one. But, if you enjoyed the chapter, please R&R and I'll see you in the next chapter.
