Here is the next chapter.
Both John and Lexi walked into the arena hand in hand for Monday Night Raw.
Lexi is only a few weeks away from being the Raw Women's champion for nearly two full years. She recently turned heel, and is back to being the evil Goddess. Which John really likes.
John's still a part timer. There have been times he would be at ringside during Lexi's matches.
But since she's a heel again he stopped doing that, since he's a lifelong babyface.
Tonight Lexi is in a tag match. She's teaming up with Lacey Evans. They're taking on Bayley and Sasha Banks. Sasha is challenging Lexi for her title at SummerSlam in a few weeks.
"You excited babe?" John asked. She looked up and gave him her usual smile.
"Sure am."
They greeted some fans.
"I'm going to head to the women's locker room."
"Okay babe. I'll see you after the show." John said.
They kissed for a bit before Lexi walked away.
Later
Lexi was watching a match against Kevin Owens and Randy Orton.
Once it was over she changed into her ring gear and then started doing her stretches, as her match was up next.
She stretched for about ten minutes before she heard her phone dinged.
She smiled, thinking it might be John.
She grabbed her phone to look at her texts.
It wasn't from John.
It was from a number she didn't recognize.
It had a bunch a unread messages.
Curious, she pressed on the icon.
Unknown: I'M BAAAACCKK!
Her eyes went wide. She started feeling a little nervous.
She continued reading.
Unknown: Did you really believe I was gone forever?
Unknown: You don't know what I'm doing and where I am.
Unknown: I could be somewhere in the arena.
Her jaw dropped.
Unknown: Looking good as always.
Unknown: I'll be seeing you soon babe.
That's where it ends.
She started feeling scared, but then calmed down.
'It must be some stupid prank.' she thought to herself.
She wasn't going to fall for it. She wasn't going to be intimidated.
She then took her Raw Women's title out of her bag and left the women's locker room to go meet Mercedes (Sasha Banks), Pamela (Bayley), and Macie (Lacey Evans) for their tag team match.
During the match
It was a back and forth battle between the two teams.
Lexi gets the hot tag from Lacey.
She lands a couple of clotheslines on Sasha, and then she did her signature DDT.
Then she goes up to the top turnbuckle, looking to hit Twisted Bliss.
But just as she was steadying herself, she sees a sign that says 'YOU WILL BE MINE LEXI'.
She then sees the hooded figure holding the sign, who was waving at her, then gave her the 'I'm watching you.' gesture.
She started feeling a bit uneasy. Her heart pounding.
But then she slips, and her feet got caught on the top rope, and she nearly lands on her head. She landed chin first on the canvas.
There were some screams and gasps from the fans.
Thankfully she covered her head with her hands just in time.
She was feeling dazed, her vision blurry.
Both Lacey and Bayley were in shock.
Sasha regains consciousness and sees Lexi down on her back. She was just as confused.
She then goes for the cover, but Lacey breaks up the pin. Bayley comes in and tackles her out of the ring.
Sasha then picks up Lexi. That's when she realized that something was definitely wrong with her.
But then Lexi became fully aware of what's going on despite the dizziness.
With all of her might, she catches Sasha off guard with a roll up, and got the win.
Lexi was still a little dizzy. She couldn't stand up.
She ended up having to be helped backstage.
Meanwhile
John was anxiously trying to get to the trainers room.
After seeing the nasty fall Lexi took he was extremely worried.
He finally found her being examined by some doctors.
He hopes it's nothing too serious.
One of the doctors then sees John.
"How is she?" John asked.
"She's still a little dizzy. She had a bruise on her chin. Looks like she has a minor concussion."
John's stomach turned when he heard the word concussion.
"She just needs some rest for a little while."
"Let me know when she's cleared to leave."
"We will."
Later at the Holiday Inn
John helped Lexi up the stairs to their hotel room.
Doctors told both of them that she won't be able to wrestle or do anything too physical for about a week.
They make it into their room.
"All right. Let's get you to bed." John replied softly.
"Okay John."
He sets her down on the bed.
"How are you feeling right now?"
"I'm just a little bit tired. My chin still feels a bit sore." she replied.
"Do you remember what happened before you fell off the top turnbuckle?" he asked.
"I was setting myself up for my Twisted Bliss signature, and that was when I saw a fan with a sign in the front row."
"You got distracted by a sign?"
"It wasn't just a sign. It's what was said on the sign that got my attention."
"I'm sorry honey. So what did it say?"
"It said 'YOU WILL BE MINE LEXI'."
"Really?"
Lexi nodded. "The fan was also making some weird gestures towards me. I wasn't able to get a good look at the person."
John hugged her. "I'm sorry that happened to you."
"That's not all John."
"What? What is it?"
"Just before my match I found some disturbing texts."
She then took out her phone and showed him the messages.
"Maybe someone's playing a prank on you."
"That's what I thought too, but then the fan distracting me and nearly landing on my head. I don't know."
Lexi then thought of something. "Oh no." She started gasping.
"What."
"It can't be him. Not Ryder." she said, a hint of fear in her voice.
"What if he was in the crowd? Maybe he was the one holding the sign." she started crying.
He held her tight. "It's okay. I'm here."
She cried for a bit before she was able to calm down.
"I promise you. If he ever lays a hand on you again, I'll make him pay."
She smiled and kisses him. They made out for a while before they went to sleep.
