"Okay...now this next fight was done out of constant nagging from someone who will remain anonymous." Vi Per said as she glared at Viridi who sat in the stands with a smug look. "So let's welcome the next fighter! Born from the Mirror of Truth, this dark angel leads the Forces of Nature on their crusade against humanity and serves as Spectra Force's best sniper. He is the Dark Winged Doppelganger. Welcome...Dark Pit!" Vi Per said as Dark Pit walked in.
"I can't believe she convinced me to do this." he groaned to himself.
"And his chosen opponents are the Fatebreakers...per the anonymous party's request. So pick your fighter." Vi Per said.
"Well, we should've expected this." Grantz said. "We seem to have a knack for earning the ire of gods, don't we?"
"It's all part of the job." DJ responded. "So, who do we send out this time?"
"I can handle this." Tanya said, suited up in her flight gear. "Only natural that you match an angel with a devil."
"Yeah, I can see that." Ethox said. "I'd wish you luck, but I don't think you'll need it."
"Of course." the major replied as she headed out.
(Cue Theme Music: Jingo Jungle by MYTH & ROID)
"And now...his opponent! This person may be a little girl in body, but don't let her age fool you. She is a hardcore major who leaves a trail of bodies in her wake! She is the Devil of the Rhine! Welcome...Tanya...Degurechaff!" Vi Per said as Tanya walked in.
"My opponent is a little girl? Are they even serious about this?" Dark Pit said.
"This 'little girl' is the number one enemy of a supposed god." Tanya replied. "Though, if you can't bring yourself to fight me because you can't take me seriously, then by all means, walk away and surrender…. Pittoo." the major sneered.
"Oh that is it." Dark Pit growled.
"And the location they will fight is...The Reset Bomb Forest!" Vi Per said as the two arrived on a battlefield. "Let the fight...begin!"
(Cue Battle Music: Chaos Unraveled-Death Battle OST)
"All I have to say is this...dance!" Dark Pit said as he started firing off a number of black arrows.
Tanya activated her flight gear and flew up, returning Dark Pit's attacks with her own, shooting at him with her own ammunition.
"Whoa...an old fashioned shootout." Connor said.
The two continued to fire at one another until…
"Hahahaha! Well well...look who is so tiny now." Viridi laughed as she appeared high above in the sky.
"What?" Tanya said, looking at Viridi before Dark Pit rammed into her as they battled in the air. "She's butting into the match! Outside interference should be against the rules, you know!"
"I am a goddess. The rules don't apply to me, human. In fact, I've looked into you and I say...the world would be better off without you!" Viridi said as something shone in the sky.
"Wait...is that...oh crap!" Ranma said.
"Not that thing." Jexi said.
Falling from the sky was a large projectile that looked almost like a seed.
"A Reset Bomb." Aelita said.
"Are you kidding me?! You're gonna get us both killed!" Dark Pit said as he and Tanya exchanged shots.
"Oh please. You serve under me so you'll be safe. And she'll probably survive too." Viridi said. "I'm just evening the odds."
The bomb hit the stage as it exploded, covering the war torn battlefield in a large forest of vines and plant life.
"Whoa...the heck just…" Izuku said.
"That's what a Reset Bomb does. It gets rid of all human and manmade structures and lets nature take control again." Dan said.
"Damn...that goddess. Whenever I finish with Being X, I'll be sure to go after her next." Tanya said before dodging an electric shock.
"Stop griping...it's ruining that cute face of yours." Dark Pit said, outfitted with an Electroshock Arm.
"Oh, is that so? Then I'll put a smile on it, by beating you into the ground." Tanya replied, using an Explosive Spell to blow up the ground under Dark Pit's feet, throwing him off balance as he was forced to take to the air.
"Fine...guess we're doing this." Dark Pit said, taking out his signature Dark Pit Staff as he flew deep into the mass of vines as he started sniping at Tanya.
"So that's how you wanna play this, huh?" Tanya asked, evading the shots. "This forest is in the way… so how about I burn it all down!" she flew high into the air before firing another explosive spell straight at the ground, combusting the entire mass of vines.
"My precious vines! How heartless can one child be!" Viridi said, about to jump in herself were it not for her commanders holding her back.
"This girl is crazy. Doesn't she realize she risks burning alive in here herself?" Dark Pit said in stunned shock. "I still have clear range. Just need to shoot her down to get the victory." Dark Pit said readjusting his aim.
Tanya pulled back as she saw Dark Pit farther away. "Playtime's over." she said as her Type-95 glowed. "Dearest Lord, lend me your strength so that I may fight in the name of the great Fatherland."
At that, Tanyas eyes flashed gold, the Type-95 up and running as she rocketed off at mach speed.
"What the... She got faster?! It won't help, this match is mine!" Dark Pit said, firing off Consecutive charge shots that homed in on Tanya.
At this moment, the White Silver gained her signature wicked smile and whipped her rifle to the front, pointing down.
"A recommendation for you: hold your breath." Tanya said, launching her high-explosive shell down into the heart of the forest, blowing up the entire area.
"This girl is...completely insane!" Dark Pit cried out as he was bombarded by the debris of the forest as he was sent crashing down to the ground.
Tanya then flew high into the sky as she brought her Type-95 to full power and aimed her Mondragon at Dark Pit.
"You flew too close to the sun." Tanya said. "You know what happens next."
The Devil of the Rhine pulled the trigger of her gun, unleashing a single bullet that sailed down and hit the ground, setting off a huge compulsory explosion. When the combustion had run its course, there was Dark Pit, lying on the ground, unconscious.
"And this fight has reached its conclusion. And in a strong upset...the winner is...Tanya!" Vi Per said as the audience cheered.
"Grr….that damn girl...who does she think she is." Viridi said, biting on a piece of cloth.
"Oh, please." Tanya cut off the goddess, looking up at her with a cold glare.
"You say you've looked into me, goddess? Well, after the Swordsman Battle, I suspected you'd pull something like this and did some research of my own. More specifically, into the events where you first appeared." the major explained. "I have to say, your reasons for doing what you did have some merit: humans, most of them anyway, are petty, selfish creatures. They fight for the smallest scraps, guided by their greed, their hatred, their pride…"
"And then there's you." Tanya added. "A goddess who targeted a little girl just because she couldn't stand losing. You think you're so important, but in actuality, you're just a speck in the grand scheme of things, just like that bastard, Being X. And yet, you act all high and mighty… The truth is, Viridi, you're exactly like those humans you despise. A prideful, petty little girl who can't accept how powerless she really is."
"It's time you stopped living in that delusional world of yours. Humans may be evil, but they're also determined. They've clawed their way to the top, becoming masters of the world in many different worlds. They are, and always will be, a part of nature as well. As the goddess of nature, it's time you adapt and accept that they are part of your precious world." Tanya said, as she and the unconscious angel were returned to the arena and she started walking off, back to her group's section. "If you can't do that, you may as well renounce your title of godhood, because you can't win a fight with humans."
Viridi was stunned into silence, her mouth agape in shock not sure how to reply.
"Did… did that really just happen?" Pit asked. "No one's ever told Viridi off like that. Ever."
"Hahahaha...that little girl is a spitfire." Palutena laughed.
Tanya returned to the stands with the others in waiting.
"Major, that was, by far, the most badass speech you've ever done." Koenig said.
"I'll say! You just gave a verbal smackdown to the Freakin' Goddess of Nature!" Nemo said.
"I only told her what I saw as the truth, nothing more." Tanya said. "Anyone with a brain can see her for what she is."
"Well, we probably won't be earning any blessings from that goddess… but I don't care!" Kazuma said. "That was awesome!"
"Heh...yeah...but we proved we can go against them in battle. Least their commanders anyway." Ethox said.
"I'm sure a lot of gods will be quaking in their boots from seeing us battle now." Theo said. "Cause the Hero Alliance...is gonna take the whole thing."
