"Haven't seen him since the World of Light, glad to see he's doing well." Ace said.

"So he can really see the future? Huh, that would be an interesting skill to have." Ristarte said.

"Well in a way he can, usually he'll see a possible outcome when in a dangerous situation and would try to change it." Simon said. "That's how it works right, Hope?"

"Yeah, I think that's how it works. It's similar to how Katakuri could see 5 seconds into the future with his Observation Haki." Hope said.

"In other words, Shulk can only see forward a brief moment." David said.

"It may not seem like much but even a fraction of time could turn the tides in a major…" Robin said as the arena shook. "Battle?"

"Well well well...seems someone forgot to invite me to this slaughter fest." a voice echoed as a large mechanical being landed in the arena.

"That's…!" Zero trailed off.

"Metalface?!" Hope said.

"I thought you guys destroyed him." Al said.

"Yeah, but… He's still a part of one of the stages from his series." Sachiko said.

"As well as one of many spirits who were revived after David slayed Galeem and Dharkon." Raine said.

"Yeah, I always knew that there was that little tidbit." David said.

"Is that really true?" Cheetah asked.

"I didn't have a choice. It was either all the spirits or none of them." David said.

"Wait, so villains got benefits from it too?! Oh…" Al said.

"Well not all of them. I sent a number of them away...before...Dharkon...recaptured them." Ace realized.

"Hahaha...look at all these Homs in the audience. You all look so good...I can't wait to gobble you up!" Metal Face laughed.

"Hold it, hold it! There are still regulations here." Vi Per said. "But since you're a part of the stage being fought in… I might let this slide if you picked Shulk's opponent."

"Hahahaha!" Metal Face said as he grabbed Vi Per. "How about instead...I just gobble you up and then go wild. Ahaha…" he laughed before a large hunk of metal was chucked at him. "Ah...alright. Who…"

"So...you think you're hot crap right? Honestly, I'm glad. You'll make good practice." Kidd said walking down the arena.

"Rotten little…" Metal Face said.

Vi Per was still terrified for the most part before calming down.

"And...Shulk's opponent! This guy is notorious for causing havoc on the high seas. He's not even afraid to bare his teeth with the ambition of taking out an emperor. He is the Captain! So...welcome the Captain of the Kidd Pirates...Eustass Kidd!" Vi Per called out.

"What do you say, Metal Face? Care to settle this on our own turf?" Shulk asked.

"Settle? This will be a slaughter, Monado boy." Metal Face said.

"Doesn't seem like he has any objections. So the arena is...Gaur Plains!" Vi Per said as they appeared in the arena. "Let the battle...begin!"

"You can do it, Shulk!" Fiora said.

"Time to die...what in the…" Metal Face said as lots of metal was flying from the stands and into the arena.

"Punk...Rotten!" Kidd said, landing a punch to the large mechanical being from inside a giant suit made of metal.

"Hah! If you think a suit made of scrap metal scares me, think again!" Metal Face said, retaliating as he and Kidd clashed claws on fist, some metal flying all over the place as Shulk evaded some.

"He can control Metal?" Shulk asked. "No… he attracted it to himself. He's a living Magnet!"

"Punk...Vice!" Kidd said, pushing down on Metal Face with both hands.

"Buster!" Shulk said as he jumped up and landed a strike to the large metal menace.

"Agh! 2 against 1 isn't fair!" Metal Face said.

"Funny, I'm pretty sure you threw fairness out the window when you intervened in this match!" Shulk reminded.

"I'll teach you to sass me!" Metal Face said, priming his laser cannon.

"Oh shut up. They said you already died once so...you're pretty much just a side character at this point." Kidd said as he ripped the cannon right out of Metal Face.

"Huh, he kinda sounded like Bakugo for a moment there." Luke said.

"No...that is how Kidd always sounds." Killer said.

"You mean that's normal?!" Mari said.

"Hey...you can't…" Metal Face said before Kidd grabbed him.

"Slam...Gibson!" he said slamming him to the ground, breaking apart the large mechanical being.

"Now that was…" Shulk said before being punched.

"You're next, side order." Kidd said.

"Uh oh." Shulk said as he ran around to avoid Kidd.

"Punk...Pistols!" Kidd said as projectiles of metal were fired at Shulk as he ran.

"Shield!" Shulk said as he defended against the metal blasts. "And Speed!" he then ran forward towards Kidd as he disappeared in front of him.

"Where the hell did he…?" Kidd asked.

"Backslash!" Shulk called, attacking Kidd from behind, stunning him. "Dunban, Riki, Fiora, let's go!"

In a flash of light, Kidd started to smile. "Huh...looks like you get to know about my power as an Awakened first." Kidd said.

"Wait...Awakened? Kidd's a…" Hope said.

Kidd braved against the attacks on him as he grabbed onto Shulk. "Assign!" he called out.

"What in the world was…" Shulk said as Fiora flew right into him. "Fiora...what is…"

"I'm sorry, Shulk. But...I can't seem to get away from you." Fiora said.

"What are you talking a-" Shulk said as multiple pieces of metal were flying right at him.

"I see now. He gave Shulk a magnetic field." Abby said.

"You mean to say that…" Harumi asked.

"Right now...Shulk is a living magnet." Raine said as all the metal in the arena collapsed into Shulk.

"Punk Clash!" Kidd called out as Shulk fell quickly soon after that.

"Whoa...talk about a magnetic personality. With a surprising power advantage...the winner of this fight is Kidd!" Vi Per said as the audience cheered.

As Kidd returned to the stands, everyone was there.

"So You're an Awakened Devil Fruit User. I can't believe you had that Assign trick up your sleeve and you've never used it up until now." Hope said.

"Awakened?" Ace asked.

"It's using a power that goes beyond the fruit one holds. For instance, Doflamingo could turn objects into string. He was like he wasn't even a Paramecia anymore." Jexi said.

"So your Awakened power lets you give that magnetic field to others?" Twilight asked.

"Like I'd spill all of my aces." Kidd said.

"There's more?" Entrapta said in awe.

"So I wasn't the only one who awakened during those 2 years." Law said.

"Wait a minute… you're Awakened too, Law?" Glimmer asked.

"Yes, but I don't use it unless I have to. It uses a lot of stamina." Law said.

"I think I understand." Ace said. "But how does a Devil Fruit user acquire it, does it just come naturally?"

"We're not exactly sure on that part." Hope said.

"And it's very rare. Not everyone can do it." Jexi said.

"All the same, now I'm wondering what other tricks Kidd's got up his sleeve." Bow said.

"He's not going to tell you." Law said.

"Right… he's only with us because he wants a shot at payback." Hope said. "And the chance to pull an Emperor off their throne."

"Hmm…" David was in thought about the coming events. "Ah, it's probably not that important now. I don't really see the Beast Pirates in the audience, so I think we're clear for now."

"Which is a good thing." Jexi said. "Don't want them trying to study us."

"Mmhmm." Ace said.

"Agreed." Mark nodded.

"Yeah...besides...the raid plan is still a long ways away." Jexi said.

"Raid plan?" Bow asked.

"It's a plan...that's been in the works for awhile now." Jexi said.

"For now, though… Let's go through the proceedings. We might end up making some enemies here, but if we play our cards right… We might also get some more allies." David said.

"He's right. So let's sit back...and watch the fun." Jexi said.
