The next day soon opened up as a dignified looking man entered the arena. "Hello and welcome again to this splendid fighting arena. We hope to show you some rather stimulating battles. I am known as Cra Ne. Another of the referees who monitor the battles here." he said. "Delighted to see so many smiling faces." he said with a bow. "Anywho...let us introduce...our first fighter." he said as the lights shined down. "From the farthest reaches of the shores of the Mushroom Kingdom, he has protected a certain plumber since birth. He also tends to eat all in his line of sight and makes eggs from it. He is the Omnivore of the Year. So...please welcome...Yoshi." he said as Yoshi came running in.

"Yoshi!" Yoshi said, doing a pose with two fingers up for victory.

"So we're starting out with one of the Original 8 today?" Vashyron asked.

"You mean 12." Mari said.

"The four hidden fighters aren't really counted since you had to unlock them." Sunset said.

"People say original 12 online because they've been in every tournament up to now." Mari said.

"Guys, let's not have a flame war right now." Chiaki said.

"Yeah...even though we can agree that original 12 is wrong, that isn't the main issue. Thing is who would…" Miles said.

"And...his opponent!" Cra Ne said. "This young chick has grown into a candidate for a queen after being raised by a hero! This filolial is ready for battle with her sharp talons. She is the Hero's Wagon Puller. Welcome...Filo!" he said as Filo came running in in her filolial form before changing to human form.

"Well this is an interesting matchup." Entrapta said.

"Wait, aren't Filolials on bad terms with dragons?" Kagura asked.

"Uh...you might wanna be careful about the way you talk about the Yoshi." Shantae whispered pointing to a row filled with them.

"Whoa." Kagura said.

"Yep. Yoshi is actually a species all their own. Just look how many colors there are!" David said.

"It's like they'we a wainbow." Charlotte said.

"Yeah...and they can be sensitive too. They don't like being compared to dragons. Besides, they're more like dinosaurs than dragons." Connor said.

"Fair point." Kagura said.

"And the battlefield for this fight is...Yoshi's Island from the Brawl series of battles." Cra Ne said as the two appeared on the stage. "Let the battle...start!"

Yoshi went into an Egg Roll as it rolled at Filo before she went and kicked the egg, sending Yoshi back. "Wow...you look fun to play with." Filo said.

Yoshi popped out of his egg, shaking his head before throwing a small egg this time, aimed for Filo.

Filo changed into her Filolial form as she went and swallowed the egg whole. "Mmm. Yummy. Though they're better cooked." Filo said.

Yoshi widened his eyes before fuming as he jumped into the air and dive bombed onto Filo, ending up getting lost in her feathers before eventually jumping out as he gasped for air.

"What the heck?" Shantae asked in surprise.

"Seems Filo's body is so large, Yoshi can't really find a place to deal damage other than her head." Theo said.

"And that isn't even her largest size in her Filolial form, right?" Ethox asked. "I've heard the Filolial queen is like… as big as a mountain!"

"You have no idea." Ace said.

Yoshi and Filo collided kicks as they rapidly clashed against each other before both were pushed back. As soon as Filo returned to human form, Yoshi saw his chance and fired his tongue out, snagging Filo as she was pulled in. Yoshi then showed signs of discomfort before spitting her back out.

"That was not fun at all." Filo said going back to her monster form and dealing a kick to Yoshi.

"Yeesh...Yoshi is not getting the better end of the stick today." Sunset said.

Yoshi then looked to the stands. "Wah wah!" it cried as the other Yoshis looked at one another before they charged into the arena.

"It's a stampede!" Shantae said.

Filo looked on in shock as the Yoshi trampled all over her as they ran past.

"Filo!" Naofumi called out.

Filo slowly got back up after the barrage as she glared at the green Yoshi. "High Quick!" she said, increasing her speed as she rushed at the lone Yoshi and dealt it a number of kicks before sending the lone dinosaur flying far from the arena.

"Well...seems we know now...birds are stronger than reptiles. So the winner of this battle is...Filo!" Cra Ne said as the audience cheered.

"Thank you all!" Filo said happily as she returned to the stands.

"Well done, Filo." Naofumi said.

"Yes, you were incredible." Raphtalia said.

"Thank you...also...can we have this for dinner?" Filo asked, holding one of the Yoshi.

"No...let it go. No idea where that thing's been." Naofumi said.

"Aw…" Filo whined as she let the Yoshi go.

"I… I'm not even sure how to respond to that." Ultra said.

"Respond to what?" DJ said, with a tone of finality to it.

"...Touche." Ultra agreed. "Never happened."

"Yeah...nothing like this happened...ever." Theo said.

"Do I even need to ask?" David asked.

"I think it's best that you don't." Cheetah said.
